  1. Waiting for a supposed Windows update which could fix this problem. Let's see how much time I will wait.
  2. Ha-Ha, found a new bug! Also Microsoft Edge has keyboard problems after migrating to Windows 10 1809 ! I cannot type "google.com" in the address bar! So I cannot surf on websites not bookmarked or not suggested by Microsoft ads!
  3. I guess that he feels this as once more a problem after a software update. It's a general quality problem : an update should bring improvement, and not be felt as a regression.
  4. Don't worry, it's not a real problem, and it will probably disappear after the next Windows major Update.
  5. and, yes, cortana is active, activated or not leads to the same effect.
  6. The device manager says "correct". However, maybe it's not a keyboard problem. Some people I google said they solved their problem when taking another mouse. So, mouse and keyboard are not independant ?
  7. Finally I see the difference. I have a keyboard problem. The Cortana search does not work any more, I can click in the "search" box, it says "type your question here", but I cannot type inside the searchbox. Of course I googled a little bit, and the answer was "apply the updates"! However, the problem occurred precisely after applying the update! And I guess it's a USB keyboard driver problem. Unfortunately, today all the keyboards are USB keyboards!
  8. However, it's a good starting point for some newbies. Experienced cookers don't use any recipe, and some of them cannot transmit their know-how, they simply say "I put the necessary sugar the I pour the flour and add milk".
  9. By the way, seems to be a recurrent problem. After a big Windows Update, third party softwares using drivers need to be reinstalled, either the drivers or the software or the firmware.
  10. Seems tasty, looking at the picture!
  11. Ouch! Don't you think that the kitchen princess would also love having somebody cooking for her ?
  12. No, simply there is a penalty in the MyCents system when a topic is removed from the forum due to spamming behavior. People experience negative cents in their final balance.
  13. Not really a shame. Simply, I did not want the grammar police to intrusively come and comment the fact that some posts are not a technical answer to a very technical topic concerning a real irruption of a virtual drive seen as a physical inaccessible device.
  14. No-no-no, not a bug in the forum. Simply, a moderator removed the unfair answer to a post. ?
  15. Glad to know that the problem disappeared wne uninstaling UltraISO. And, yes, Rufus is great for that kind of work. 7zip also does part of the job. However, remember that Windows10 will mount any iso if you happen to double-click on it. However, if this occurs, you will only have to cope with eventual Windows bugs!
  16. I guess that it has something to do with the share. Probably a bad click when the question was first asked "What should I do with shared folder", an iso mounted and then cannot be correctly unmounted because the iso isn't available any more.
  17. No problem with the migration to 1809. Didn't experience the data loss previously mentioned on some forums. I didn't even see the difference, except a noticeable slowdown, probably due to all the new features I don't use but which of course need cpu and network power.
  18. That's the bad thing with windows 10, you cannot easily (and safely) stop the update mechanism.
  19. And Grandma's remedies for lost of memories is ....
  20. Argh! You are righ! I have Maizena in my kitchen!
  21. How many people still have starch at home ?
  22. OK, it's probably an iso file which has been accidentally mounted by windows10. You can right-click on the g: CD drive and choose "dismount", should be dismounted and not be seen until next mount.
  23. Did you have a look at this ? https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=553961
  24. Sorry I don't really understand. Do yo need a web browser for Liunux, or do you really want to use Microsoft Internet Explorer on a Linux machine ? I would say that the obvious solution would be to dual-boot to a Windows XP on that old system ? Or, if it's from time to time, to boot on a XP Windows PE LiveCD ? Or do you simply want us to help you installing ie4linux ? And by the way, are we talking about ie4linux-1.3.9.tar.gz or ies4linux-1.3.9.tar.gz ?
