Need To Copy Data From "unknown" Formatted Hard Drive
foolakadugie replied to WeaponX's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yeah cloning it to another healthy drive sounds like a good idea, because the more you mess with the drive the worse it may get and damage the data. Then you can mess with the good one as much as you want.I don't know what format the PS2 uses. -
I see what you are saying, but I guess I just don't really think of the essence of humanity being particularly precious over any other organism. I don't see humans as being any more important or higher in status than any other organism. We may be smarter, but the world wouldn't be the same without everything else. We share the same genetic code with most other animals on the planet (just different programming). Only about 2 percent of that programming separates us from other species. If anything, I think that our technology and advances in science would stop us from evolving. Technology takes the place of evolution. Evolution works through the death and survival of organisms (survival of the fittest) from their environment, predators, etc. Bad genes are lost when individual animals with those genes cannot survive and just the opposite for those with good genes. We are removed from nature so natural selection really doesn't apply to us much anymore, except for maybe diseases (but even with many diseases we have medicine and such to help). There isn't much pushing the human race to evolve, since we live in a time when most of the human race live long lives and their survival isn't quite as difficult as it would be in nature.

It sounds like you have all of the needed info. I think it is okay to keep it simple and let the work speak for itself on a portfolio. It's fine to put in new and different things, but ultimately I thinkt hat the work itself could serve that purpose Hope it goes well. Maybe people could provide more ideas if they saw some of your work or your site so far.

Looks good for a quicky! I find that I spend alot of time when I work on vector illustration. It is time consuming sometimes . Keep at it! Look forward to seeng that next project. I think vhortex was trying to ask what application it was created in (illustrator maybe?)

I am going to start out and say that I am not really a programmer (with the exception of some web stuff, etc). But if it helps, I know that an open source program called Audacity records from the sound card like you are describing. The website is https://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/ and I believe you can find a link to the source in the Get Involved section (not sure, I am having internet connectivity problems at the moment).

Those are the steps I take to change my resolution, but in XP this seems to change it for everyone even under a separate user account. Actually now that I think of it, I probably meant something more like 1600x1200, but I don't remember (I am away from home). I normally operate it at either that or 1920x1440. My monitor is a 19in CRT. It is very clear and operates best at higher resolutions and gets a little weird when going down to low resolutions like 1024x768. Furthermore, I just like having the extra screen real estate when I am working in multiple programs, especially with graphics programs that have all of those settings windows etc.

I am visiting my parents and need to do some work on their computer. They keep their screen at 800x600 for easy reading, while I am more accustomed to working at 1600x1400 and above. I was wondering if it was possible to set my user account to default to a higher resolution, while keeping theirs at 800x600.

I am agnostic, so I don't deny that there is a god or not. I just can prove one way ir another so I just wouldn't know what to believe in even if I did commit to saying that there was a god. I was raised protestant Christian, but I can't just believe something because everyone else is and I can't bring myself to have blind faith in something that I don't know is there. I am still interested in religions and I do like to hear about what others believe. I think that many life lessons and morals can be learned from various religions.

I doubt that they would ever be able to grow bast the state of an embryo. I think that they would be grown in a lab rather than in a cow. There wouldn't be any reason to let them grow any older than being a clump of stem cells. All stem cells are, are cells that have not yet been specialized to perform a certain purpose (muscle, skin, nerve, etc). I don't mean to be disrespectful of others beliefs, but I don't understand why a microscopic glob of cells is any more precious than an actual human life. The stem cells could be used to save many lives and cure so many diseases and problems. I think that an actual human's life is more important than a few cells.

Yeah the last time that I used it was years ago. It has probably been at least 4 years but maybe more, so I don't doubt that it has improved since then.

I have noticed that this has been an increasing problem lately on some of the forums that I frequent. Apparently bots are getting smarter (and in some cases developing quite a sense of humor )

I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to linux, but I know this is possible. I think the best way is to just make multiple partitions on the drive. Then you would just have a boot menu to choose which OS to boot into. You could run it from an external drive too if you wanted but it is possible to have both on the same drive.

Nice find. I might try this out later. I mean I don't have a ton of apllications executing on start-up, but it might still help out.

Yeah I had this program long time ago and it slowed my computer way down. The loss in ram just wasn't worth the eye-candy to me. Now I use a windows shell that let's me skin it, while still using less resources than windows default explorer shell.

there are a number of ways to execute this and some are harder than others. If you don't want to get tied up in a lot of actionscript, you could set it up with a stop action on each frame, and then on another layer have the scrolling of the text motion tweened, then have a button that will take you to the next frame. And I suppose that you would mask the symbol that the text is in so that it would reveal as you scroll. Since this is the easy way, it is also sor tof annoying for the viewer, since they would have to keep clicking, instead of dragging. I would suggest that you go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is by the far the best flash resource that I have ever seen. They have stuff for both beginners and gurus. The site has tutorilas, open source fla files, royalty free sounds, and a very helpful forum with tons of experienced Flash designers/programmers, etc. I have seen and used tutorials for scrolling on this site successfully and they provide the file for you to use, making it even easier.

I have two external drives. One is a 160 GB LaCie (firewire/usb) with a very heavy duty metal casing/stand. I first bought it when I was in design school to transport all of my projects back and forth between school and home. Now I store and backup files on it that I don't readily nead on my computer. I also use it for transporting data when I need to. The other external drive was a 120 GB usb western digital drive, but it ended up dying on me so I swapped out the drive with an old 40 GB drive I had laying around. I use that as sort of a temporary drive to store files before I have time to archive and such.

I don't really like the individual close buttons, so I brought the global close button back in about:config. I use the middle mouse (scroll) button to close singular tabs and the global one to close multiple tabs. If I am closing many tabs I use ctrl + w. That is why firefox is so great. It is configurable to fit different peoples' needs.

How Long Does It Take To Be Listed On Google?
foolakadugie replied to mtl8's topic in Search Engines
Having other people click through the links on your site and also people link to your site from other web pages will also help. -
I currently have and use most of those. View Formatted Source is a nice one too. It load the source code in a cleaner, easy to read format where you can expand and minimize parts of the code. I use Colorzilla, Measureit and FireFTP very frequently. I also use EditCSS, which loads the CSS in a sidebar on the left and the page will change as you edit it.The xray extension I find to be sort of annoying. I think that the View source chart is more useful.
