  1. I was a yo yo whiz as a kid and still can bust out some cool tricks. I never was very good with the chinese yo yo though. I have only tried them a few times though.
  2. Especially Likely Sloth - It's not rocket sugery. It's Bassaroni!(this is some weird music)
  3. I use DVDLab. It seems to work well for my purposes. You can do easy to advanced menus and pretty much anything you need. For really advanced stuff you can use scripting, but I haven't quite got into that yet.
  4. The site was actually designed for a contest. I do not remember the conditions of the contest but people were supposed to make a website that was small in file size. I believe that he won. He packed quite alot of content in it for such a small filesize.
  5. If you are working in photoshop I would probably reduce the opacity of the text and then apply a layer effect like multiply (you might wanna try the others) so that the text will pick up the texture of the surface.
  6. I normally use either Imageready or Flash, depending on what I am doing. Both work well. I would say that Flash is easier to use for creating more intricate frame by frame animations.
  7. Qbasic was the first proggramming language I learned. I remember going in and changing all my Qbasic games as a kid, because they were open source. Then I started writing programs from scratch after studying a book with the syntax. I was always addicted to that Bouncing Babies game on DOS.
  8. Yes you can do that with HTML. This code would make show a smiley that, when clicked, will take you to google. <a href="https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=BwkjVKfAD8uH8QfckIGgCQ&gws_rd=ssl src="http://forums.xisto.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif;
  9. yeah I think that a preloader would solve the problem. ANother thing is that if you have a very complicated animation with complex tweens and suff, sometimes it can lag on slower computers. Some of those complicated shape tweens can take a bit of computing.
  10. Flash can be intimidating at first, but there are many tutorials out there on the internet to help you get started step by step. If you are willing to spend a little time studying them you will learn alot. Other 3rd party applications do not have all the capabilities and versatility that Flash has. Flashkit is a great resource for any flash user from beginer to advanced. Also Flash comes with tutorials in the help files. In another thread I did suggest a program called Swish that I used for a short time long time ago. It was easy, but I quickly became bored with it.
  11. Well I just stick to Macromedia Flash to create flash content, but I think I remember a little program called Swish. It was very easy to use and had a variety of effects. You might check that out.
  12. Well it all depends on what you are going for. I have seen amazing work done in microsoft paint. But I would say that Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are the standard programs for digital imaging and illustration. They are pricey bu textremely versatile. Programs like Photoshop have almost endless possibilities once you learn the program well. Paint Shop Pro is a sort of a very primitive version of photoshop. It is much cheaper, but not proffessional quality in my opinion.
