I would have to tell you that Apple Macbooks sold before January 2009 and they were all coupled with the Intel GMA chips which unfortunately overheats really easily. Just by watching a simple YouTube video on my old polycarbonate Macbook with the Intel GMA 950, my Macbook sounds like a freakin' jet engine. Now that I got a free Macbook replacement from Apple to the "used-to-be-the-latest" aluminium unibody Macbook with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, the problem no longer exist and my Macbook has been quiet ever since.xboxrulz

Used to be just my HP Deskjet 722C before it's death in December 2008. It has since been replaced by my Samsung ML-1640 laser printer. It's a really good workhorse.I also have a photo printer ... the HP Photosmart C4180 All-in-One. It's more scanner than printer for me.xboxrulz

I still have my Hi5 account to this day ... it's one of those rarely used social networking sites I have an account to like Bebo, Orkut, Hi5 and MySpace. The only social networking website here is Facebook as that's what most Canadians have. I for one, also use FileZilla for all my FTP needs and on my Macbook I use CyberDuck.They are so lightweight and easy to use, it's unbelievable. Also, I like the fact that both support SFTP which I need for my college since they just disabled all FTP services for security reasons.xboxrulz

I have 4 GB of RAM, I just have let the system use 2 GB for software cache with 0 "Free" so that the system would be using the RAM to the full potential. Note that caching software doesn't actually really "use up" your RAM as it will flush the cache when an application requires space on the memory module.Usually to clean up RAM usage is to run less applications, this includes background processes that are not system-critical. Many people leave a lot of background processes which eats up their RAM and CPU resources. Furthermore, make sure that you don't have any malware installed as they commonly also use up valuable system resources.xboxrulz

I don't believe that there are SATA drivers for MS-DOS as MS-DOS is ancient tech. Best to just use UBCD for diagnostics or repair.Try and see if FreeDOS might help actually.xboxrulz

that's good ... the only drivers I had to install was my graphics card since the other drivers that were required were generic ones. Then I just installed the drivers just to update it. deltatux

There's no emulator for 32-bit software on x86-64 processors. The long mode in x86-64 can run 64-bit and 32-bit at the same time. That's why x86-64 is more successful than IA64 which will require 32-bit emulation in order for it to run. Running the processor in long mode actually allows you to run 16-bit, 32-bit and 64-bit. However, it's just a Windows limitation that you can't run 16-bit software in a 64-bit operating system since there is not much a reason why you would want to. They removed NTVDM which is what made 16-bit software possible on 32-bit Windows. Windows x64 basically runs the whole system as 64-bit. All the system components are 64-bit. However, Microsoft retains 32-bit libraries and components so that programs can link back to it. It launches an extra layer (like a wrapper) when it detects a 32-bit application being launched called Windows on Windows 64 (WoW64). WoW64 contains all the 32-bit facilities that allows 32-bit software natively on 64-bit systems. Linux also does something similar to this in order to run 32-bit Linux software on 64-bit Linux systems. Luckily for those with 32-bit Windows licenses, all you have to do is to torrent a 64-bit image (this is perfectly legal since you have the license to do it). A 32-bit license can be used on a 64-bit copy of Windows. deltatux

I rather build my own machine than to buy a Dell ... esp. a Dell. I basically boycott fixing Dells anymore. They are time consuming and pretty a waste of my valuable time and life. I rather people spend a bit more cash and buy a quality machine than to buy 'em cheap and have them break down on you after like a year of use or something. I'm sick and tired of fixing Dells. I just basically tell Dell users to just buy a new machine 'cuz even if I fix them, they just fall apart again a year later (unless I stick non-Dell parts into them). I always like this saying: Of course I know you can run Mac OS X on PCs but I'm of course talking about legally obtaining and running it. I mainly got my Mac as a portable UNIX workstation and multimedia centre. My Windows machine for games and heavy-duty tasks. xboxrulz

With the latest patches and the service pack, I'd say Windows Server 2008 x64.Windows Vista isn't that bad after all the patches since it was released. I love the security built into Windows Vista. I haven't installed Windows XP on any new machines.xboxrulz
