I thought the standard was a bit. It makes sense that they sell 384 kilobit/s cheapter than 1 megabit/s. Or at least it does in my head. Mega > Kilo. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

I agree with everyone else. Why go for the gamecube...expecially this late in the "console" battle (assuming ps3 and xbox next comes out soon). Just wait and just as vice city crossed to xbox after the legal issues ran out or w/e. Surely, if metroid prime is worth while, then it will cross? I don't know however because I haven't played it personally, but I have seen some reviews and the game does look great. It was kinda cool having a "butt-kicking" female fps.

I think that P2P should just be left alone. Considering that there are more serious stuff happening. I mean, some guy on an airplane freaks out and starts acting "obnoxious" or whatever, and can get 20 years in prison. On the other hand, a rapist might get 5, or a murderer might get 10. I mean come on. Sure it's bad because people lose money, but as someone else stated they are still making profits, and their profits are increasing. Backups should be legal as well. Sure some people will abuse backup copies and probably make 4 or 5 and give them to their friends to use or whatever, but that's just how the world works. They will not be able to stop everyone from backing up their copies of DVD's, CD's, Games and what have you, and if they do, I think that would definately be unfair to the consumer. Once the consumer has bought the product it should last (if treated well) indefinately (in this case). I mean who wants to go out and buy the same CD over and over year after year because your aunt Bertha sat on it and broke it. People are going to abuse these privledges, but that's just the nature of a human. Also P2P is a good way for music to get put out on the net so everyone can hear it. For example if a garage band makes an mp3 and shares it. It's likely to get in someone elses hands, and then someone elses ...etc. So it is a good idea, but it's just so powerful in the hands of those who abuse it. I say people are making profits still, the prices of DVD's and CD's are ridiculus sometimes, so I say concentrate on our REAL problems. Until the economy suffers a major blow from this filesharing act that is, then we got a problem I guess . The economy is supposively recovering, or so I heard.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I did indeed look on php.et and download the manual. It helped some, but this semester (in college) I decided to take a web programming class that was offered, and it sounds like the instructor is going to touch on php and mysql. At least I got to a hello world page.

i'd say the deal with sims 2 is....the sims. I mean let's face it. We got all the "controlling the lives" of people that weeded in all the expansions and original sims that were out. I mean after the "gazillionth" expansion pack, I'd say a few people might've been a little bored. I think they should've had maybe this setup:SimsSims Livin LargeHot DateFORGET REST OF EXPANSIONSSims2Would've made pple want it more or something...lol. To be honest I didn't play hardly any of the expansions though, my curiosity was satisfied with Livin large. Cool game while it lasted tho.

Lol yah Age of Empires was great. I bought a pc in 1998 from Micron and they shipped Age of Empires with it. I thought..okay they shipped me a crappy game. I was proved wrong. I was into Warcraft 2 before that and Age of Empires was great. Wasn't a big learning curve. The Rise of Rome was a great expansion !!! it enabled queuing. I mean c'mon...great. Age Of Empires 2 was awesome. That combined with the expansion was a very good game. I still play it from time to time, but there just isn't enough time to fit it in with the newer games out.

If you're on Bnet you can use the 5 minute rule. If not get some hack to allow u to export/import items for single player. Try this with a small item first...health potion or whatever to make sure it still works, but I used it all the time.5 minute rule:Create a random game on BNet that is password protected. Leave the game open for 5 minutes or longer. After the 5 minutes, leave the game. Go get your other character and join the game that you had open for 5 minutes. It should still be open as long as it was open for at least 5 minutes. Join the game by typing in the game name and password of course. Good luck. It always worked for me.

If i could afford it I would prob get a newer ATI. Probably because I've never had one. This is my 1st actually decent computer, and all I have in it is Geforce 4 Ti 4800 se. Yah I know, the 4800 < 4600 but I didn't know that at the time. Crazy nVidia. Anyways, I suggest trying the ATI. I hear the grafix for games such as Doom 3 rock with the newest ATI. The grafix might be a bit better with the new nVidia, but all around is ATI's goal. nVidia is designed specifically for games (doom 3) or so I hear. All in all they're 2 pretty good cards.

Nice and simple. I know I'm probably not the right person to critque...seeing as I'm no designer. I am really interested in web desiging though, and since I am a person...I guess that gives me a little say-so. I found it to load rather quickly. Good images (not 2 many) i'm on a 56k modem. Loaded okay. Other than not being able to read the language I give it a thumbs up.

i'm a pretty big DB and DBZ fan so when budokai 1 came out..i played itroomie had ps2 and he bought it...i liked it b/c of the story and such...never really watched all the sagasnever played 2 or 3..but 2 looked a lil cheesy....dunno never played it tho...u all say 3 is best..maybe i should pick it up at the video store

I have to admit Blizzard has put some really good games out there. I mean Warcraft 1 was alright for its time. Diablo, one of my all time favs. Warcraft 2..I mean how many game of the years lol. Then starcraft. Which i was in the dark about for so long. GREAT GAME. Warcraft 3 came out so naturally I had to play it. I have to admit, I expected different at first. It sucked ...lol. After forcing myself to play through some of the campaigns I found myself liking it a little better. Eventually I grew to acknowledge it as a good game, but I can't judge the multi-player capabilites b/c I never played it on b-net. I guess I should. I just beat regular War 3..playes ome Frozen Throne then got bored of it. I enjoy quake too much to change lol. Anyways I hope blizzard keeps em coming.-off topicWorld of Warcraft is the new topic. I hear it's a good game...then I hear it sucks. Monthly fees just don't attract me to games. I mean $50...then monthly fees. Uhm....enuf bills already. Lol, anyways I haven't played halo 2 yet. $$$ plays a role in that...and considering I just got an XBox. Just got halo for XBox as well. Played it on PC before. I find it hard to switch from mouse to those analog controllers. Hard to get accurate with that. Maybe before long ..lol. Anyways hope to see Halo 3 I guess...might not get it very soon..but I know it will be available sometime .

I rented GTA:SA and it seemed like a good game. Sure lots of violence...lots of foul language....lots of sexual... ?activities ...lol (didn't get too far into the game). Anyways, now adays that's what makes a good game. It seems to hook the person playing it in with all that disturbing, and comediac activities. There are a lot of people that should be able to play GTA series. For instance. 18+ of course that's who the games for16+ in most cases unless the kids a bit disturbed.. PARENTS WATCH UR CHILDREN14+ start drawing the line here...if u think the kid is mature enuf..then it's a go10- definately shouldn't be playing GTA seriesI mean i seen a kid at wal-mart that was about 8 years old and was telling his "mom" to get him vice city and GTA: SA. I think he ended up with Vice City. I've had one of my cousins tell me about destroying helicopters, blowing up cars, running over cops, killing citizens, and doing hookers...(cousin was like 5) so i think there's certain material that children shouldn't be exposed to. Driving fast cars is plenty to occupy a kid. Give them something from NFS series and they'll do just fine, or midtown madness even. Although there are quite a few exceptions to be made in the gaming industry, IMO that's who should play GTA.

I played San Andreas once (rented) and it was just as good or better. (Vice City on PC was better but still ) Anyways, i don't know much about XBox. I think I'll be getting one in a few days. I think.. christmas So I could describe more then. Anyways, Halo series rocks for console playing. Also, I seen GTA for XBox i think....so GTA: San Andreas might be crossing over. Maybe i'm mistaken but I think the GTA series is crossing over. That'd be devastating for the PS2. Doesn't matter cos I've heard XBox:next is suppose to be out next year. Heard rumors as early as january lol, but prob late in the year (if the date isn't pushed back).

lol guys i can remember the good old days...a few years back when i was in high school we all shared doom 2 from a folder on windows 98 and we would all play doom 2 lol...and heretic. Good times. Now I hear that in the same high school they're playing quake 3 and such in their computer classes. Wish I could go back sometimes. Not very often that I get a lan game goin with that many pple on it. Especially quake or unreal lol. Usually pinging a lot on online games. GOTY isn't that much different..new maps...few new mods...and such. Roomie had it so i figured I'd try it. It's okay. I want to start playing UT2k4. I have the demo and the game's pretty cool. A little different from what I'm use to, but I think I could adjust.

Okay, I was goin to start learning php...hopefully this free service will support php so I can test my code and such b/c I have it on my pc to test...but it seems to have problems running. Maybe I didn't enable some of the right things. Seems a bity hard to setup if you don't know what you're doing. Anyways I was wondering if they're any certain things that can improve my php skills. I'm familiar with setup of the language b/c I am very familiar with c++ syntax. So the syntax isn't a problem. The variables are a little different...dynamic or w/e. Also there are a lot of functions that I'm left in the dark about. So my question is...what did you php users out there start with. Ideas for any SIMPLE website creation utilizing php into it would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes i still find myself playing UT:GOTY edition. roommate and I still deathmatch from time to time on it. Mostly though I'm more of a Quake 3 player. Just can't get over the rail gun, and the fast paced action. Most people like UT because of the rocket launcher. I like the Quake 3 rocket launcher better. But overrall UT is a GR8T game. Can't really say that I've tried mapping in UT. Never was much into that. I just like playing. Good luck with that, and keep on fragging ...heh.

i usually use altavista.com ....lol i have no idea..now it's connected with yahoo so i dunno...if i can't find what i want there then i google. I guess google is the way to go? Everyone's doing it lol. What does it matter as long as you find the site you'rel ooking for...also it seems harder to submit your site to google.

Most pple around here (Ky, USA) use cable. It seems to be the faster for the cheapest amount. Although if u want to pay out the wazoo u can get a fairly fast DSL connection. It seems though that most pple prefer cable. Is it more reliable ?? i dunno.. I usually am in a dorm on a t3...but now i'm on dial up ..poor me lol.. someday i will have broadband ...someday

I enjoyed diablo 2 and sometimes still find myself wanting to play it...but once i get in it..it gets boring very quickly. What changes my mind is starting from scratch because all my characters have expired etc. I have to admit it was a great game..can't wait til blizzard releases another game (starcraft ghost) ?? havne't played world of warcraft yet but monthly $$$ ..just not my type of game. I like the free stuff lol. Anyways i would like to play sacred...friend of mine said it was good.
