  1. i'm all for IPB like you...but I've known of quite a few forums who converted to SMF recently. I don't know...I find it SMF rather annoying, but it seems to be becoming more and more popular because it's free =P
  2. boards, forums, chatting. I'm usually not into technical forums like this one...but other computer tech forums don't offer me hosting lol. Anyways, I just kinda chill with my friends. It's easier to get a large gathering outside when you can just contact a mass number of people online. That way, it is guarantee you will get someone to show to basketball pick-up games or something along those lines
  3. lol, yea...in order to link the exact phrases, you put your search in quotes. You can also do stuff like "Map of Asia" Southeast and it will search "Map of Asia" and the word Southeast. This feature is really useful for me when I seach for guitar tabs/song lyrics. Normally red hot chili peppers would search the words seperately...but when i type "red hot chili peppers" guitar tabs lyrics - it can give me very precise results
  4. hmm...i'm pretty impressed with Microsoft Anti-spyware. I wasn't planning to try it, but seeing all the good comments about it here, i gave it a quick runthrough...and i think it's good enough for me to keep in my computer Personally, I use X-Cleaner (a relatively unknown application...but it works really really well =P), Ad-Aware SE Personal, and SpywareBlaster. THough, recently I haven't been catching a lot of spyware, so I haven't been running these applications/programs quite as much as I use to. I've been keeping away from some of the "bad" sites since I've met my girlfriend =P
  5. Photoshop can work wonders after playing around with it a bit And, harriko, your second site is pretty awesome. It doesn't come out too good in firefox, however in IE, it looks stunning And the three edited banners by Sadas looks interesting...it adds a bit flair to it...but it's also...kinda messy =P
  6. yea...everything looks a bit blurry. Perhaps it is the optimized settings you chose? If not, I think you should ease up on the blurring lol
  7. it has a different feel to it then most banners I don't know though...the letters look kind of awkward. I can't quite pinpoint what it reminds me of, but i think I know what kind of effect you were aiming for =P good job on it. Keep up the good work =P I'm kinda interested in seeing this site of yours
  8. looks awesome. Keep up the good work i've tried modeling a few times, but I always just drop it and give up lol.Nevertheless, good job on those =P
  9. lol it looks pretty awesome. I've been working on CG art recently...hopefully I'll be able to become as good as you soon =PAnyhow, is it going to be a webcomic, or simply a manga-style comic book? Or neither...?
  10. well, from that standpoint, it doesn't really have to be a template. You could just pop up some site you like and analyze the coloring/shapes/patterns that the original designer used and create something on your own. Or you could look at the source code and learn how they created the coding
  11. it's simple. Like vujsa said, you just click what you want, follow a a few easy steps, and you're practically done. All that's left is editing the options for the software you installed ^_^and remember...simple is better =P
  12. hmm, i guess there are ways that php can be somewhat harmful to the server you run on, but like jipman said, I doubt that a code can mess with the server too much unless it is doing some infinite loop or something. They're pretty high-tech nowadays
  13. some basic programming? Truthfully, I'd suggest using something like Java or C++ for a first programming language. Once you learn either one, stuff like php will be simple with the help of http://php.net/ hope I helped
  14. hmm, never used a template myself. I've made some for other people, but I've never tried using other's works. It just feels...kinda...like stealing and dishonest =Pnevertheless, I'd use Cinema 4D for a 3D rendering and Photoshop for everything else. Then of course, pop up the handy notepad for the coding
  15. Sun has been doing some pretty amazing things... Though it is a massive corporation, it still maintains a really forwards looking aproach to software developement and an interest in the developement community. Anyways, they started something called Project Looking Glass, which is an attempt to make the desktop 3 dimentional. Currently they have proof-of-concepts for Linux and their own OS. And they've released a linux boot disc to demostrate it. It looks awesome...I think it will be a huge step forward for computers. If the desktop can be made into a 3D setting, it will make navigating through multiple windows much easier, as well as influence the creation of new software that could use it's effects to the maximum ability. Here's the movie demo at https://www.oracle.com/sun/index.html
  16. uh...abstraction? There's plenty of ways you can do that...personally I suggest looking it up on ( http://www.pixel2life.com/ ). I doubt someone would just write up a tutorial on the spot for you here
  17. hmm, i'm not too familiar with the how the torrent trackers work, but I did pass by this link: http://www.owntracker.com//?gtnjs=1 Supposedly they provide a free tracker...?
  18. yea....the thing is, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ searches in IsoHunt, Mesi-torrent, TorrentSpy, ThePirateBay, and TorrentReactor in one click after you type in your search word, check the "search other sites" and scroll down after the page is done loading and it will give you the result for all those sites
  19. ...well novatina looks alright, but after doing a few searches...i much prefer http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Click on the "search other sites" and you'll get results from many different torrent sites thus, a better chance of getting what you're looking for =P
  20. hmm...i dunno. I always keep my "hidden" option on...yet I couldn't see it after typing in "attrib +r +a +s +h hidden.doc". Nevertheless "attrib -r -a -s -h hidden.doc" revealed the file back to me. I dunno. I'm somewhat ignorant when it comes to dos. Oh well. Oops, i just realized that I'm not using Windows XP... >_<
  21. lol, have i already replied to this topic. Sheesh...i've completely lost track of which topic I already replied to cause they're all the same lolanyways....yea, this is my third reply...and I'm a notepad user here my reasoning is up there somewhere in my last reply...
  22. lol, yea i have 50 invites as well. Invites don't mean much anymore =P and my gmail is working just fine through thunderbird and from their webpage. So perhaps it was simply a temporary problem
  23. fractals...previously never heard of them...but after looking at some of the screenshots, I'm impressed. Art based solely on math. How fun will that be =P i'll give it a go after the upcoming SATs...(i hate testing lol)
  24. lol, i wonder how many times had we seen a topic about what "programming application you use" or "which drawing program do you prefer"...i think we should consider topics like this spam because the original poster didn't use the "search" function to make sure the topic wasn't already made before =P
  25. I have to admit, I use notepad. But because I don't actually do any REAL programming (I use eclipse for programming programming), notepad is perfect. How hard is it to write something like: <html><head><title>webpage</title></head><body>Content or whatever</body>it doesn't really take an external program to write all that junk out. My site (in my sig) was completely made with notepad and I didn't have any trouble with it
