I'm very proud of them for doing this but from trying the live CD I realised that it wouldn't support my graphics and for some reason it would only run in a crap graphic quality and 640x800 resolution, which is about half of what I need. Here are my screenshots, but I'm still dissatisfied because I can't use it at all

What Is: World's Largest Known Prime Number
musichere replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Doesn't anyone have a formula for working out the pattern of the prime numbers?! :DIf someone could find that then we wouldnt have this problem. -
What Is The Best Brand For Mouses? What mouse do you use...
musichere replied to Sadas's topic in Hardware Workshop
I have a mercury one that I found on eBay for £2.99 delivered :DIt has a thin scrollwheel in the middle and two large blue buttons on either side.It does the job for me, my old Microsoft one was really sluggish and hard to navigate with. -
Basically, I really want to use my Fedora Core installation but my USB ADSL Accessrunner modem doens't compat with any version of Linux. I was just wondering if there was a cheap ADSL modem, either internal or external, which compats with Linux easily and where it can be bought cheaply in the UK.Thanks

Invision used to be Free but there is nowhere you can download it officially for free. This is because since 1.3 they have in some people's opinions 'sold our' for corporate ambition.phpBB is now the leading free/open source forum software, and it is by far the best in this category, however for user friendliness it sitll lags behind not only Invision Power Board but also vBulletin. In my experience, vBulletin is by far the classiest looking, the most immediately appealing and the easiest to navigate and add extensions to. Many professional websites use this software, but on the downside it is much more expensive than any other forum software and quite bulky in comparison to Invision Power Board or phpBB.

Which Linux Which Flavour of Linux you like?
musichere replied to arunkumarhg's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Isn't Fedora Core funded by Red Hat Linux? They decided that they would split two ways; for people that want to use Open Source/Free linux, use their product Fedora Core and choose Red Hat if you want to use it for a business or 'enteprise'. -
Apple iTunes/Quicktime's propriety format AAC is in my opinion the highest fidelty and easily the most natural sounding for the same bitrate of files.Wav is uncompressed, so it will never be the same file size as mp3 for the same file size.Mpg and mp3 are the same thing. Mpeg videos use mp3 sound encoding so I don't understand your point about this.

The thing I want for Mac is for them to see their OSX on normal PCs rather than having them only to the specific Macintosh computers, which I think are too expensive and not what i'm looking for (to fit in with the rest iof my stuff). If they did this not only would they be able to compete with Windows; but they would get themselves noticed much more.

I think what he meant was to put the letter in a quote and add something of his own to the end, but it ended up wrong.

In my opinion this is simply out of jealousy and awe of Gmail, which has of course exploded recently. If you don't like gmail, if you're scared of gmail, if you think it's a bad thing in any way, then DONT USE IT.The people that use Gmail (not me) are using it because it gives a great service, with lightning speeds and amazing storage space. I don't see how anyone can find that a bad thing. It doesn't even put advertisments in the outgoing or incoming emails that you send (yahoo and hotmail do this). Gmail is on the rise, and the people that want to knock it down are just wanting to cause problems and interfere with people's lives.

What Is The Best Brand Of Harddisk? Who has longer life?
musichere replied to bryandel's topic in Hardware Workshop
I have 2 computers running 3 Maxator harddisks and they have never had any sort of problem no matter how many times I formatted them. I haven't tried any of the others but I don't have any reason to since I already have good enough harddrives. -
Thanks for your post. I think I have a dynamic IP, but every time I dial my IP there is a different IP on whatismyip.com (I don't know how else to check the IP) Also the attacks are becomming increasingly frequent and the worst part is I have to sometimes disconnect my zonealarm because when I have it open my home network won't work.

Error 406 - Problem In My Phpbb Forum Actually a problem with Apache
musichere replied to hihihihi88's topic in Software
This problem is definitely not to do with the systerm of phpBB, it's absolutely to do with the Xisto server, becuase on my Nucleus weblog and also on my invision power board version 1.3 it won't let me type the world syst-em either. -
I Support Linux! the anti-microsoft-topic
musichere replied to tillus's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Microsuck sucks, but of course people will realise that and the Linux users will spread the word every day in every way and it will be simply impossible to use a Windows after weighing up the facts about Linux and the advantages against the disadvantages. -
You know, there are normally ways around this.At my school they banned going to google.com/images by typing the term into the original box and thenc cliking on the images tab, but they didn't ban going onto picsearch.com or by simply going directly to the images website of google to search for pictures. If you use a pop email and that's banned just use any web based pop email reciever, or look at it directly through cpanel.Sometimes you can get around the firewall simply by changing the www. at the front for a http:// (yes I know that sounds stupid), also sometimes you can view the website through google cache (not very useful but at least you can see it), also you could try simply asking the administrator if he could unban your friend's band's website, and hotmail, neither of which pose any sort of harm to anybody.

Exeem in my humble opinion is the single worst file sharing program around at the moment.I'd go for Bittorrent clents, eDonkey network, Limewire, and there is no reason why you can't use Shareaza for all your needs put into one program.

406 Error I keep getting a 406 error...
musichere replied to spacewaste1405241471's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I think it's the word system. I can post anything on my blog but I get a 406 error whenever I type the word system. -

What's the cheapest ADSL modem you can get in the UK that is supported by Linux? -
As you may have read in the other thread in this forum about my 'adventures' with Mandrake Linus 10.1. Well, it ended up with Quijibow telling me to try another distribution...Following that I also downloaded and installed debian, which I found was much easier to install than Mandrake, but still had the exact same booting problem which Mandrake had (I think it has something to do with Lilo)BUTMy friend told me about Fedora Core from Redhat, and I did some research into it and decided to have a go with it (then again what could possibly go wrong).ANDFor the first time out of the Linux distributions it went into a graphical installation, took my through step by step without throwing **** at me (sorry debian), and after 20 minutes it was up and running, and I was orgainising photos. So this is just my appreciation of the good work that Fedora, a non-profit and 100% free Linux distribution (or so I'm told). In conclusion, anyone who wants a simple, clean and beautifully executed installtion for super n00bs and lazy people alike, I really think Fedora Core is the way to go.Not only is the dual-boot loader working perfectly, it also lets me choose KDE or GNOME, and becuase it's GRUB, it's compattible with my specific computer (which Lilo/Mandrake wasn't.)Thanks everyone (especially quijibow) for telling me about Linux. All I need to do is to now configure my ADSL USB modem, which isn't supported by Linux kernal yet, but only with the project http://accessrunner.sourceforge.net/, which I'm not quite sure how to execute and use yet (I'm not sure about anything Linux wise), but I will look into that.
