  1. hey yordan, when right clicking on folder and going to advance there's no other options for read, write etc... i installed Windows on this machine and created the only user (Which is the administrator as well)This is an NTFS partition created with Windows on previous Dual OS setup, and as far as i can remember the folders that i can't have modification access to were created with Ubuntu. I end up deleting both OS and freshly installed Windows XP (leaving that data partition un-altered) but strangely i can't alter anything on those Linux (Ubuntu) created folders, just read access... i want to delete some of the files there for space and reformatting the whole partition is not an option
  2. any text editor would be sufficient if you are after simplicity as long as it supports some sort of text highlighting, specifically for html/css etc... i prefer to use free ones, that's why linux is so awesome, they have alot of free tools available
  3. In my Windows XP Professional PC there's two partitions i can't modify (write/delete/move) data on but can only read/copy files of it... weirdhow would i view partition privileges and alter it, i'm the Admin and only user

  15. i've realised that my saved pages of mht format can't be opened with Google Chrome (currently version 11) and i can't save to this archiving format... does anyone know any plugins that i can use on Google Chrome to enable this format compatibility?i can save the complete page with media (pics, links etc) but it's much tidier if saved in archive mht which ends up with just one file per page
  16. with Chrome skin (free available ones under options --> theme) how can i save these files/themes into my local drive so chrome would not re-download every time i change it?

  20. i have alot of family members (extended) and we are scatered allover the place, some living in australia, some in the us and alot in new zealand. now i want to create a simple and easy to use website so that family members can register and post news updates (inluding photos and videos) so that other relatives can read through... i was thinking about wordpress since it's probably the simplest for me, and hopefully some suggestions from you guys about some suitable plugins to meet what i am aiming for.cheers in advance
  21. A senior lecturer in internet law says the arrest of an Australian Fairfax journalist over his receipt of an unauthorised Facebook photo "defies sensible explanation" and the entire matter exposes serious failings in Australian cyber crime laws.... whole article: http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology if someone creates a fake or imaginary person for a facebook account, and someone steals pics of it, is that still a crime? what's your opinion on this?
