Ahh the solution is simple do the uploads in small groups if you do more then like 3-400 files in shout the server will cut off because of the load your giving the server to handle.so do it in groups of 5-10 and you won't get the cut off. I gotten the cut off plenty of times to figure out why.

Almost sounds like some wires got fried or problem with your cables, if so replace your cables first then try it and see if that works.If it is the battery your warranty should still cover it and in that case your replacement is free. The hard drive went, That happens to me before when I tried reinstalling on my Compaq lap a few years ago. It almost sounds like the cdrom drive went as well.But if this is a completely brand new system then Toshiba got dome questions to answer, if not replace the hard drive and cd-rom drive and it should be working again.
