I use WinRar, Like Alex said it seems to open any file that you can throw at it. Winzip doesn't alway open what you want it to. .rar files for example

Would You Shop Using Your Cellphone online cellphone shopping cart
atomicnacho replied to round's topic in Programming
I certainly think that there are people that would buy stuff with cell phones, but for me if I am making an online purchase I want to shop around a lot to make sure I am getting the best price. So this requires a lot of searching webpages, googleing, etc.. which would not be practical on a cell phone. -
What "downloads" Site Do You Use shere it with us :)
atomicnacho replied to sader's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I use download.com, too. And I've also had a lot of luck finding good open source software on Sourceforge. There are all types of software designed for all platforms, I suggest you check it out. -
Logithec Laser Mouse Not so good as they said
atomicnacho replied to sader's topic in General Discussion
I would try and return it. Yours obviously sounds defective. I've been using the Logitec MX-1000 laser mouse for about a year, and I have loved it. I don't work at my computer all day, but in general I never have to charge it. It usually goes about a month and a half without being on the charger at all. I never remember to put it back on the charging cradle after use. I use it for 2 or so hours a night. The problems you are having with applications sounds like a stuck button or something, but your problem is not indicitive of all mice.It is heavy, like all wireless mice, since it has batteries. I'm used to using wireless mice so the weight is not a problem for me. -
Is There An Adium-like Im Client For Windows?
atomicnacho replied to dodgerblue's topic in Science and Technology
Well, being that I'm getting kinda sick of Trillian too, I decided to take a look around sourceforge and see what I could come up with. And I did find two programs that look like they may fit our need. Eclipse Plugin And Kopete I checked out both and it appears that neither mentioned Skype, but Kopete seems to include all of the other protocols that you mentioned you were interested in. I have not used either, I'm thinking of giving Kopete a try, so I can't really reccomend either one for any specific reasons. I was poking around to see what I could find, and thought you might be interested. -
What Is A Fedex Furniture? Its NOT JUST boxes
atomicnacho replied to serverph's topic in General Discussion
I just read the letters back and forth from FedEx and the Stanford legal folks. Pretty good read, there's some great arguing. The furniture is great. At my college apartment we managed to construct an armchair out of empty beer cases, in a similar feat of poverty. -
What Is Movable Type? Movable Type 3.2
atomicnacho replied to atomicnacho's topic in General Discussion
So I took everyones advice and Installed Wordpress, and I have to agree with everyone. It literally took me 2 minutes to install it. Where Movable type took me 2 hours of installing and reinstalling in order to get it to work. Then the installation of plugins was a breeze, where it was often a real pain in Movable type. Often I couldn't even get the plugins to work at all. Everything seems to be a lot smoother with Wordpress. I really like the built in ability to quickly and easily change themes.I did like the Movable type interface a little better than wordpress, but it's no big deal. -
Those screen shots look pretty sweet. Hopefully they are able to add more to the story without butchering it. In order to have enough game play there will need to be more going on. It will be pretty boring if you just do exactly what happens in the movie. But since it is such a classic movie, they had better be really careful adding things to it.I could be really great or completely suck depending.Only time will tell.

I use an Epson R200 which has a special cd printing tray. As long as your lexmark has the same capabilities (too lazy to google it), you just have to get Printable CDs/DVDs and follow the instructions that came with your printer.I get much better results on printable cds than you do if you go the labelling route.

I'm using a Belkin 802.11g router that I got at CompUSSR for 20 bucks a while back. I haven't had any problems with it. It was really easy to set up. I get pretty good coverage in my appartment, could be better but not bad.

Exactly why would prices be going up that much?
-
Hasn't this thing been in development for like 10years. I seem to remember Penny Arcade making fun of it and subsiquently getting into a legal battle over it. I seriously doubt it will ever see the light of day in the marketplace.

The psp is just too expensive, and has been neglected in terms of what it is supposed to do. There are very few good games for it out, and a lot of the ones that are out are just ports of old games. The PSP is supposed to be a portable GAMING system and there are no GAMES. All of the other features are nice and all but you can get other devices that will easily outperform the psp, ie Ipod, portable DVD player, etc...Unless some good games start showing up for it, it's just not worth it.

How To Start A Computer/ebay Business
atomicnacho replied to xadoflitan's topic in Hardware Workshop
Paypal is an affiliate of (I think even owned by) Ebay. Paypal allows you to safely transmit money over the web. They do this in a number of ways. Once you start a paypal account you provide bank or credit card information that links to your account. Using this information Paypal allows you to send money via email to anyone else with an account. I'm not sure really how thier policies work, but I think that by using paypal to make purchases over ebay you can eliminate some of the risk of getting scammed. I think that Paypal will refund you if you can prove that you were scammed. -
I think that everyone will agree that the Xbox is the clear choice for online console gaming. So it really depends on how much you have to spend. If you have a lot I would say wait until November or when ever it launches and get the Xbox 360. If you don't have that much I think you should probably still wait till the 360 is released and get an Xbox. When the new systems come out the will probably be some price lowering of the last generation systems.

I pretty much agree with everyone else. If you want to pay a lot, and tell your friends look at my fancy schmancy Alienware PC, then by all means do so. However If you want a good machine at a good price go with dell. Or if you know what you want, and know what you are doing (or want to do a lot of research and learn) build your own. Building you own computer isn't about getting it cheaper, you almost definately will get a dell cheaper because they buy parts in much larger quantities for less than you can buy them. But by building you own you can get exactly what you want and tailor your computer to do what you need it to do. (but knowing what you want requires a lot of research)

I would have to say the hardest game was Ghosts and Goblins for the 8-bit Nintendo. That game was crazy! Only 2 or so lives and like 9 levels to go through. No saving or anything like that so when you are out of lives you just had to go back to the begining and start over.Another one that I remember from back in the day that was hard was Rambo for the 8-bit. It did have a save system but it involved a "kagillion" characters upper and lower case and numbers. My 12 yr old self was never able to accurately copy down all of the numbers, so the result was everytime i sat down and played for a couple of hours and "saved", I would screw up one of the letters and have to start over again

Haha, That's great. I came here because I wanted to get away from Yahoo 360. I wanted a blog but Yahoo didn't have the features I was looking for. I got myself hosted here and viola.

What Is Movable Type? Movable Type 3.2
atomicnacho replied to atomicnacho's topic in General Discussion
I'll have to check out wordpress. I hadn't heard of it before, I just knew about movable type. I switched from Yahoo 360, because I wanted more features for my blog.So I came to Xisto.com got myself some free hosting, then set up movable type. I've been really happy so far except for the Netflix plugin that I cannot get working.Does Xisto's servers have all of the requirements to run wordpress? -
My favorite has to be the dual shock. Its design is simple and intuitive, and I've always thought that it fits very well. I found the xbox controller to be a lot bigger that I prefer in a controller.I even grabbed myself an adaptor to connect up to 4 dual shocks via usb, it rocks.

A month ago I would have said that there is no real point in having a camera on your cell phone. However I recently started posting a lot of photos on a blog and I think now that it might be useful to have a low res camera in my pocket that I could snap a couple of pics of wierd stuff I come across during the day. Also a part of me just wants to get any new phone camera or not. Only a few more months until I finally get out of my 2yr contract and am able to get a new phone, without spending an arm and a leg for it.

Well if music is what you are looking for I would suggest getting a music player. I don't have a psp but from what I understand you are going to have to have large memory sticks in order to store your music. In my experience you are going to spend an arm and a leg on the memory stick. So I guess to answer you question as stated I would go with the nano, however I also would suggest you take a look at my review of the Mobiblu DAH-1500i flash based mp3 player. I just got mine a week or two ago and I love it. Litlle less space than the nano, but It has some great features that the nano does not. It has a screen, FM radio, and FM/Voice Recording capabilities, and is also way smaller than the nano. I does only have 1gb of space, but if you have a large collection and are planning on storing all of your music on one device then I would spend the extra few bucks for a 20gb ipod.

Favorite Genres Whats Your Favorite Genre?
atomicnacho replied to jae-unit's topic in Computer Gaming
I would have to say that now my favorite genre is First Person Shooters. When I first started playing computer gamies I played a lot of Real Time Strategy, but eventually I started playing a little Unreal Tournement. Now I play Wolfenstien ET. Believe it or not I've never even played Counter Strike. I guess I really should.I really can't seem to get interested in MMORPG. I just don't have to time to justify paying monthly for a game. I don't have the time to devote to a MMORPG to make it worth while.
