  1. At the moment, my favorite game is Minecraft. I play in a public server with my friends. I would not say that it is a massively multiplayer online game because you can only play online in different servers but it is still an online game. You have a choice to play on single player or multiplayer. Anyway, I like to build things with the server community. It is pretty fun and it encourages teamwork and trust (trust people not to grief your buildings).I also play Combat Arms by Nexon sometimes when I get bored. I cannot play for periods of more than an hour because I get bored easily with that game. I admit that it gets me entertained for the first few minutes but then as I constantly get murdered by OPK hackers, I get frustrated and quit the game.I used to play Maplestory for a long time ( about 4 years ) but then I quit because it became unbelievably ridiculous after the updates that pretty much killed the game. I can still go back but I will probably quit the game after around 2 weeks. The sad thing about this game is that the game thrived when there were a lot of hackers because people would stop grinding and start hanging out in major towns and just chat and have fun. Nowadays, people are spread out everywhere across the world and if you find a group of people to to talk to, they are probably spamming to sell items, spamming for free money, or trying to get into a party quest. Also, the game is now cash shop based so whoever invests real money in the game will have an advantage over other players. This wasn't a problem until Nexon implemented pay-to-get items that are not cosmetics.
  2. I like to use GMail because of the fact that there are 7.5 GB of space at your will. I use it to link all of my email addresses that use STMP/POP to access them all in one place. I also like that fact that it has themes so the email account feels personal. There are features unique to GMail as well such as IM, Google Voice, Google Labs, Calendar, and Docs which can all be integrated into your email. I also like the fact that I have a 3rd party GMail notifier sitting in my taskbar notifying me right away when I get a new email message.I also use hotmail/live but I access my email account in GMail so I am not sure if it still counts.
  3. I just used it to text my Textfree number on my iPod touch and it seems to be working perfectly What would make this service amazing is postponing the text message to a certain time of the day so you can get alerts via text message.
  4. I came across this guide as I was searching on Google and I just realized that it was on Xisto. I was looking for a guide like this and it works perfectly. I have an app on my iPod Touch called Color Splash and it allowed me to edit photos like this on my iPod so I wanted to see if I could do it in photoshop for higher resolution photos because I would hate to go through the hassle of transferring the photo I want to edit to my iPod Touch via SSH, edit the picture, and then transfer the edited picture back to my computer.
  5. Lol! I love Tetris. The first time I ever played Tetris was on my little purple gameboy color. It was the best game ever and I was really attached to that game. Today, I will occasionally go on TetrisFriends and play some multiplayer tetris on the computer. I like it because your opponents are sorted into skill level and there are ALWAYS people playing on that site. They have an integrated currency which is pretty cool since you can purchase new skins, challenges, backgrounds, etc.My favorite Tetris mode would have to be Sprint 40 Lines. I always like to challenge myself into beating my high score. My highest score is clearing 40 lines in a minute, 25 seconds. I guess it is a pretty good score as I was averaging 73 tetrominos a second. This game mode also helps me on multiplayer mode when I have to think fast.
  6. I love Maplestory. I played it for four years before I quit. I started playing a little bit after beta. The game thrived until everyone started to stop caring about fun and started being damage wh****. Anyway, now the game is cash shop based which pretty much killed the game and anyone with a large sum of money that they are willing to invest in this game can be richer and gain a bigger advantage over other players. Also, its possible to reach the level cap within a few months so it provides no challenge.
  7. You could always try embedding ads within text using Kontera or Infolinks. It has a high rate I find the earnings a lot better than Google Adsense, and the pay-per-click sites.
  8. I liked it better before around the time when the game first came out. People actually talked to you and the point of the game is to have fun. Now, half the players bot so you can't really have a conversation with anyone. The graphics are better now then before and a lot of new content is added but I do not think that it has been as fun as before. The game is beginning to face the same fate as Maplestory.
  9. I believe that Triond can get net you a profit. If you can write just 5 articles a day for 365 days, then I believe the money you make a bit of a monthly profit. You could be making around $100 USD or more monthly if each of your articles makes at least 5 cents a month. I do not believe you should go through the hassle of doing that since you are writing almost 2000 articles a year just to achieve a bare profit.
  10. I used McAfee Antivirus and Norton Antivirus and I agree with you that both of them slow down your computer because they take up too much RAM. In my opinion, I believe that it if you have a large amount of RAM, you will not see much of a noticeable difference in the drop of speed. If you have only one or two gigabytes of RAM, then you may want to try Panda Cloud antivirus like I use since it is very lightweight but still does its job.
  11. You can't say that no one has ever though about the future of the internet. It is just that the internet grows in increments. There is a possibility of a growth spike in the advancement of the internet. Even at this very moment, people are contributing more to the advancement of the internet. Before you know it, HTML 5 will be the new standard for web design and most web browsers. There will be more elements included in websites and you will be amazed how much better the GUI is. Take a look at a website developed 10 years ago and compare it with one today. You will probably notice a big difference.
  12. I would have to go with VLC media player. I prefer it over Windows Media Player and I use it for both video and audio. I have used Cyberlink but I found it pretty buggy when if comes to playing video.
  13. Maybe someday, I group of people will develop a massive website integrating a social network, a video uploading site, file sharing, etc. all into one website. In my opinion, it would be very convenient and I believe in the later years, the amount of bandwidth available later on will make this all possible. Imagine being able to send emails (or PMs), chat on a social network, get your notifications (like twitter), etc. at one place. If the website was globally used by millions of people like facebook is then that is just another reason why it would be amazing. It does feel like that and I agree with you. Right now, we have games with amazing graphics but I believe that we could advance even further in technology. A few decades ago, 16 MB of RAM was godly and a floppy disk 1.44 MB was sufficient enough for most people. Decades from now, we are going to think that 16 GB of RAM will be a joke and wouldn't be enough to run an average game in the future. A 200 GB hard drive that may please us now may make us cry later on. The datatype "terabyte" will be used much more and T1 connections will feel like dialup in today's time.
  14. The most used piece of software that I use on my computer is Google Chrome. 90% of the time when I log on to my computer, it is the first program that I open. After that, I visit facebook along with all of the other websites that I check daily. The next program that I use often is probably either Audacity or Adobe Audition. I personally own a condenser microphone that I use to record vocals, instruments, etc. so I find myself tinkering with the settings on the program. Now I am just going to list all of the other programs:Photoshop CS3 (editing photos and pictures), Microsoft Word (typing up essays for English :/), Skype (chatting with my friends), Minecraft.exe (a super fun game =) ), iTunes (syncing more music), VLC Media Player (I prefer this over Windows Media Player), FileZilla (FTP), fraps (recording gameplay), Noteworthy Composer 2 (I use this to hear sheet music to get an idea of what a song sounds like), AutoIT v3 (I usually use this to help me access things more rapidly), Dreamweaver (WYSIWYG), Lightscreen (takes screenshots), Google Desktop (it looks kind of cool), and WinSCP and putty for my iPod Touch (SSH).I use each of these programs frequently. Some are used more than the other but I use each program at least once a week at the very least.
  15. I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials at the moment but my favorite antivirus software is Panda Cloud antivirus. It is not on the list of antivirus software that you provided but this is my favorite since it is lightweight and doesn't take up all of your RAM. I have tried McAfee and Norton but they take up too much memory and it gets annoying. I haven't tried any of the other antiviruses on that list.
  16. I love spies! Especially the disguise kit. I use it to camp outside the enemy base and assassinate enemies one by one.Lol, I was running around as a sniper in this custom map with a bow and arrow shooting at random things. I was playing around and accidentally shot and killed an invisible spy out of nowhere. Anyways, I thought it was pretty funny and ever since, I would shoot at nothing hoping to kill a spy. I was blamed for hacking.
  17. Welcome to Xisto. You can also start learning C++ and develop some text-based games in a console. If you'd like, you could learn Win32 programming with C++ to develop games with a GUI and maybe some graphics with a Game Engine.
  18. I do not agree with you to an extent. I believe that you have to at least have some background knowledge on HTML, javascript, programming, etc. in order to complete most of the missions on the website. The only mission where you probably do not need to have background knowledge on anything is looking for a password clearly marked in the source code.
  19. Bleh. Reading that is going to make me hesitate before inputting connecting my iPod or anything into a computer. :/ Is there anyway to prevent the device from getting infected with the virus if the computer you were plugging the device had a virus? I plug my jumpdrive in almost every computer I use (for PortableApps) so at the moment, I am wondering whether my jumpdrive is infected.
  20. That's ridiculous in my opinion... at the moment, I do not have an antivirus installed on my computer. *runs to get AVG* That is interesting. I guess viruses spread like the flu. I still don't understand how you would get a virus on your iPod or your phone.
  21. Alrighty. So my friend has this 5 year old laptop that he uses and he had just reformated his computer. The problem is that he can't find the driver for his ATI graphics card. He searched the ATI website and couldn't find the drivers for the ATI mobility radeon 9000/9100. Any of you happen to know where to find them?
  22. I use OpenOffice I find it very similar to Microsoft Office which is very convenient for most users who tend to alternate between the two programs. I have OpenOffice on my thumbdrive with PortableApps and use it when I am using a computer that does not have Microsoft Office installed. I believe that OpenOffice can almost perform on par with Microsoft Office with a few updates but other than that, it is a GREAT alternative.
  23. In my opinion, I believe that Grand Turismo is the most realistic driving game. I play it with my GT Wheel but I find the driving kind of hard. Most of the tests you need to go through to get your license are pretty difficult. Once I hit the IA license, I sort of quit the game because I couldn't pass the tests.
  24. Astahost! Well, I haven't really gained enough myCENT to purchase the hosting package that I am looking at currently but I have heard that members are very satisfied with the quality of the webhost. The Logic package is only $1.95 a month (default options) which is relatively easy to maintain with a few minutes a day on the forums. The webhost that I used to use was 000webhost. I thought it was absolutely amazing with the 100 GB monthly bandwidth and the 1.5 GB of webspace until they randomly shut down my website without giving me any notifications. I realized that there have been many other people with the same problem that I had. Oh well, all is well now. You get what you pay for.
  25. I believe there are aliens somewhere "outside" there. Maybe the aliens are not like the stereotypical aliens depicted by most humans but living creatures unknown to us outside our solar system. Someday, humans may discover one of these life forms or they might even discover us. People once thought that the fact that the Earth is round was a ridiculous idea. At the moment, many people probably believe that aliens are not real. In years to come, it may be that we were completely oblivious of life somewhere "out there".
