  1. Windows Vista and Ubuntu were developed with the idea, that after the installation the user of the computer has about all the programs and functionalities the user might want to use. This results in big and heavy programs. The new direction Microsoft went with Windows 7 is that Microsoft decided to leave out some programs that not every user uses all the time. So a program like Window Movie Maker has to be downloaded seperately. The goal to keep the user attached to the operating program is changed for the option ot make the operating program relatively fast. This leads to the question in which direction operating programs will head. Will they become smaller and faster in the nearby future? Will they after some time become operating programs only with the possibility to download all other applications, drivers and other programs like the browser from the internet? Or will the operating programs evolve in the direction of Google Chromium with a complete focus on the internet? An operating program becomes a sort of big browser with some applications like printing attached to the browser.Linux is a kind of free available. And Google Chromium seems to be available in the future for free too. Windows 7 is pretty expensive. And Windows XP gets maybe outdated and seems hard to find in shops and webshops. This leads to the question wether the operating programs will become less expensive and more and more free? The user interface of Windows was at the start a sort of copy of the operating program of Apple. The way Internet Explorer looks is a sort of copy of Google Chrome. The goal of both browsers is speed too. So this leads to the question what attribute of which operating program will be copied by other operating programs of other factories.
  2. It depends a bit of the operating program that is used. It seems that linux doesn't have as much safety, virus and trojan horse issues like Windows encounters. The first thing to use is a firewall. This prevents hackers from entering your computer through the internet. The second thing to consider is to use a program that prevents a virus and a trojan horse and a key logger to enter the computer. There are a lot of free programs available on the internet. The third thing to consider is to scan the computer regularly with a virus scanner. There are online virus search websites. And there are virus search programs for free on the internet. The best thing to do is to take care about the links that are found on the internet, on websites, in emails and in chats. Those links can download a virus into the computer. Another way to keep the computer clean is to reinstall the operating program regularly after making a back up of precious files. Window 7 has an inbuilt firewall. It seems Norton builds itself partly in the register. That causes that the computer reacts slow when Norton is installed.Allthough this topic is started some time ago and allthough nobody reacted the topic itself has timeless meaning. The topic is still of interest for computer users and internet surfers today and in the future.
  3. That might include the warning not to download the program to recover deleted files to the hard disk that contains the deleted files. Most of the time the files don't get deleted. The way to find the file is changed. So the file doesn't show up in the search results. But the file still exists completely. This makes it sometimes possible to recover deleted files.
  4. This remark seem to indicate that there has to be enough money on the paypal account to be able to pay an order on the internet. The question rises where this experience comes from. Maybe this is the case with huge amounts of money. Because it seems payments can be done by using paypal immediately. And paypal seems to retracts the money from the bank account at the same moment or a bit after the purchase.
  5. It is more easy to visit those sites when the links to those sites are put in the post.
  6. No offense. There was a lot of chatting to discuss this matter. The question rises why. Because from the first sentence onwards it is clear the request will be denied. Maybe it shows somebody on the website has a lot of patience. Or it is hard for somebody to say no to somebody else.
  7. what is BK? Burger King? who makes money and who suffers? is this an internet related remark or is this about fast food restaurants?
  8. the first thing to try is to see if Windows Explorer reveals the known file extensions. This is said supposing that the operating program is Windows. To reveal the known file extensions works this way:1. open start.2. -> all programs3. -> Accessories4. -> Windows Explorer5. -> Organize6. -> Folder and search options7. -> View8. -> Advanced settings9. -> Hide extensions for known file types.10. -> OKthis reveals most extensions of most file types.so come back after doing this and tell the file extension of the file please.
  9. Paypal is a website. The service it delivers is to take money from your bank account and transfer it to the bank account of webshops. This happens by the instructions of the user. https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/home An emailaccount is needed to sign up. Paypal will transfer 2 small amounts of money, like $ 0,03 to your account. The new user has to type the amount of money in a security box on the website of paypal or something like this to prove the user is the owner of the bank account.
  10. Facebook can be considered potentially dangerous. Because Facebook can contain a lot of personal information. This information can lead a stalker to the address of someone else. The websites that provide services like email and other services can consideret to be potentially dangerous too. Because they ask the user to post personal information like names and the address on the internet. For most surfers it seems without problems to reveal personal information on a website. Because almost all forms on the internet ask for personal information. So websites almost never warn people that somebody else who has the intention to stalk can find personal information once it is on the internet.
  11. Like do you mean a website that pays you to post? Google for postforpay, maybe. If you want to get your own website to write articles you can get a website from the webhost attached to this forum. Or you can use 1 of the free weblog websites that offer space for blogs.
  12. Maybe that is true. On the other hand, if free webhosts are reviewed it might turn out that other free webhosts get a negative judging. And if that is the case it might turn out that the review is a promotion for Xisto and the free webhost attached to it.
  13. The delay of the turning MyCents into $$ in an account can be 2 or 3 days or more, I guess. At least it seems to take that much time for the MyCents to change into $$s.
  14. So what topic interests you the most? what topic should be dealt with in a website? that is the topic you should write about yourself.
  15. Thanks for the advice. Uploading 3 pictures removed the picture with the photoshopped orange from the main page of the forum. A personal opinion is that the main page looks much more friendly and inviting now.
  16. If topics are opened because of a reaction in another topic it means that the content of the post inspired to open a new topic. The other topic seemed to be less suited to post about the subject that is discussed in the new topic. Just like the comment about the options to buy computer components that are used in a computer built by Apple the posts and comments of manesh2k are inspiring and very helpfull. And because there seems to be a lack of knowledge about Apple computer this topic is opened in order to solve a problem. Because in shops and in webshops are lots of components available that can be used in computer with processors of Intel and of AMD. But which processor is used in a computer built by Apple is not as well known as are the components of computers that run on Windows and Linux.
  17. The owner of an Acer should be happy when the original programs are wiped away from the hard disk. It will only add to his joy of using the computer. The positive thing is that the owner paid for the use of Windows 7. And the license number and license sticker are on the bottom of the laptop. So it is allowed to use a dvd of Windows 7 OEM of the same issue and to use that dvd and to use the key code that is printed on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop. Making an image of the hard disk before installing any program is a good idea. It might be possible that Acer uses a company bulk OEM distribution of Windows 7. So it is not sure if the product code on the bottom of the laptop works with any OEM version of Windows 7.
  18. Since customer support phone calls are usually to be paid for it can be handy to send an email. This way the support and the answers received are for free. This remark got inspired by this topic.
  19. Some people might think that Acer makes crappy computers and laptops that break easily. Being 1 of the world biggest computer builders can indicate that the quality of the computers and the laptops can't be too bad. Dell has said to build bad computers too. Maybe all huge computer factories produce computers with a low quality.
  20. Suppose a member of the forum posts and posts. So after some time the user earns enough MyCents and My$$s to order a free website. But maybe the member likes to order some more. So the enthousiastic member keeps on with posting and posting. Now suppose the moderators don't appreciate the enthousiasm of the heavy posting user. And the account of the user gets deleted. What happens with the MyCents? What happens with the amount of $ the user earnt? And especialley, gets the new earnt free website lost too?
  21. The news and information in this topic are surprising. It is surprising, because I didn't know Godaddy was loosing money till recently. And I wondered why so many people use Godaddy. But since I heart about the actions they hold like the coupon code of FALL99 which means a discount of about 95% off of the price of a .com domain name it is more clear how they attract the customers. With the price mentioned to buy the website Godaddy it is clear that there aren't many companies that can pay such an amount of money. And it is possible, that a buyer needs a big loan from the banks to be able to pay such a price. Some companies pay only a small amount of money of the price themselves. The rest of the buying price is borrowed from the banks by the company, that was bought. This means the new bought company gets filled with loans and debts from the banks. The new bought company needs to make profits to pay the interest and to pay back the debts.
  22. 1. What are the specifications of your computer? Like processor, speed, builder, Intel or AMD, number, code ,memory cards, factory, brand name, amount of memory space, hard disk space, number and brand and company builder name, main board, factory of the main board, number and code of the main board. That will make it more easy to understand what your computer is able to cope with. 2. What part of Windows 7 is it that you don't understand? Because Windows 7 looks a lot like Windows XP and Windows Vista.
  23. What happens after the 30 days trial. Suppose that you want to change some changes back to how they were before you started to change the start up function.
  24. I would like the picture without the paint on it. The picture itself reminds of the cosmopolity, city life and the future.
