  1. It's kind of hard to explain so I asked some friends to help me with a rather extensive guide to what roleplaying is. -Author of this RP Basics Guide is Descythed from KHQ RP.
  2. Oh, hello deadmad-san! Should I call you deadmad or something else? Anyway, glad to be here. I'll see you around too.
  3. I don't think astrology can predict the future, although I do think it can affect certain behavior patterns of a person. Let's take me for example; I have done research on my Zodiac Sign, looked at the personalities the stars, moon and sun, etc. tell about me and ask people to compare the data that I have with what they've observed from me. I won't rant on too much, but the below data was gathered from research and from the interviews from close family and friends. From what I got, I am almost at an 80% compatibility rate with the following traits - emphasis on ALMOST. I am a Pisces- my whole family is a water family, with my brother Riki being a fellow Pisces, my mother being a Gemini and my father and my sister being a Cancer. You may skip the next part of this post as it is merely about me being a Pisces and being born during the Year of the Rooster. Do forgive me; I have a very huge interest in these kinds of subjects. If you are a Pisces or if you were born during the Year of the Rooster, you may find the following paragraphs quite interesting. The Astrological birth sign of Pisces (February 19 - March 20) Is usually associated with being extremely creative, sensitive, and artistic, as well as a healthy fascination with the metaphysical and spiritual. Well, my hobbies are drawing and writing, among other things. So it looks like that fits that description. Although I am rather doubtful on theology, I am rather superstitious (well more like paranoid with what you can't see). Pisces are the most intuitive and spiritually developed of the zodiac birth signs. Aptly called "old souls", Pisces thirst for spiritual knowledge and personal growth. They are the twelfth, and last, of the Zodiac signs, and as such, tend to have a more finely tuned intuition, sixth sense or extrasensory ability to perceive others feelings. If you would consider my doubt on theological aspects a thirst for spiritual knowledge, then yes, that fits the bill. I don't think I can sense stuff though, or at least not yet. The duality of the Pisces personality is best described as a constant ebb and flow, back and forth, straddling the physical, material world and the ethereal, divine realm where Pisces vivid imagination, powerful intuition and creative daydreaming feel like home. Daydreaming is my utter weakness. Pisces are creators. Pisces are common as inventors, writers, musicians, painters, and dancers. Pisces make great friends and mates. Pisces are extremely loyal and caring. Pisces often possess uncanny intuitive or psychic abilities. Inventor, maybe? Writer, hell yes! Musician, meh... Painter, so-so. Dancer... let's not get there. Loyal and caring, I guess? Pisces are sensitive, humane and often idealistic. People born under this sign react emotionally to everything making them compassionate and sensitive to those around them. Rather than taking an analytical approach to life, Pisces react to the feelings of others and as a result can be very influential when they choose to be. In the right situation a Pisces can be capable of incredible deeds. The positive nature of a Pisces and the fact that they are tuned into the feelings of others makes them socially popular. Emotional... *shifty eyes* But I guess this is true; I am rather sensitive to other people's emotions - sometimes TOO sensitive. Socially popular? No - I'm your typical wallflower in real life. Being able to read and react to situations makes Pisces one of the most adaptive signs in the Zodiac. They are very intuitive and as a result can be flexible and prosper in many different situations. The intuitive nature of Pisces also makes them a very creative and imaginative sign. Pisces are often artists, writers and dreamers. The strong intuition of a Pisces can also mean that they are very spiritual. While I am a Pisces, I was also born during the Year of the Rooster: People born in the Year of the Rooster are deep thinkers, capable, and talented. They like to be busy and are devoted beyond their capabilities and are deeply disappointed if they fail. People born in the Rooster Year are often a bit eccentric, and often have rather difficult relationship with others. They always think they are right and usually are! They frequently are loners and though they give the outward impression of being adventurous, they are timid. Rooster peoples emotions like their fortunes swing very high to very low. They can be selfish and too outspoken, but are always interesting and can be extremely brave. They are most compatible with Ox, Snake, and Dragon. To be specific, I am a Water Rooster. Water Rooster Years 1933 and 1993 Water has a calming effect on this Rooster. Water Roosters dont feel the need to rise above the crowd and their communication skills are more refined. Forever energetic and extremely detail-oriented, these Roosters can benefit from staying more focused on the end result rather than the minute details. I love swimming, yes. I don't like attention, yes. I will talk if needed, yes. Energetic? No; lethargic is more like it. Detail oriented? A bit. So, although it's not totally correct, it still has some interesting points. Who knew these kinds of things had interesting coincidences with real life? But I guess it's different with every person, huh? For reading all that, here's a nice YouTube video that is very in topic. That's Your Horoscope for Today

  5. Modern Man Continues to Live On because of Dissatisfaction Two years ago, House M. D. star, Hugh Laurie, stated in one of his interviews the following statement: And this quotation is what nicely wraps up the thesis I submitted for a class. We would find, in the recent short stories that had been handled, that Modern Literature is quick to point out the weaknesses and faults of modern man, leading to the writer’s touching the rather dark and grim subjects of racism, sexism, religious biases, murder and the likes that delve into the darker, inner workings of the human mind and attitude. At the heart of all these things is one very basic concept – dissatisfaction. Dissatisfaction – it drives the modern man to continue on living until he gets what he wants… until he is satisfied. There is no such thing as pure satisfaction; a person upon getting what he wants will work for more. Works Cited Laurie, Hugh. Laurie’s Road Trip Ambition. The Internet Movie Database. N. P., 2008. 6. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I am fu- fu- fu- ashamed! I am ashamed of the police in my country! One man versus our SWAT team, and guess what? SWAT team FAILS *facepalms* Because of the hostage taking crisis, our country is now viewed more dangerous than Iraq! This is madness, total ****. Our countrys SWAT probably stands for Sorry, Wala Ako Training (translated into English as Sorry, I dont have any training). I bet we could have gotten better results if we got some hardcore airsoft/paintball players in there to rescue those poor hostages! They had a couple of chances to decapitate and/or disarm the hostage taker and they didnt take the effing chances! Also, it was very stupid when they threw tear gas into the bus, ran into the bus without gas masks like a bunch of incompetent buffoons wait for it, ran out and complained that their eyes hurt! I just want to strangle them! They are completely incompetent, even in the simple regulation of traffic rules. FFS! They should get training and ACTUAL equipment since, you know, THEY ARE DEFENDING THE LIVES OF PEOPLE! RIGHT? It doesnt take a genius to figure that out! Stupid corrupt politicians. I mean, you see the video on the news and see the police wearing sports cap! What the hell? And an innocent bystander got shot? SERIOUSLY? Do you not know about securing the perimeter and all that *BLEEP*? But it wasnt only the police forces (AND THE GOVERNMENTS) fault! The media! Dagnabbit! You dont youre not even supposed to be there! You just gave the hostage taker every single update on whats happening around him! Its kind of like planning to pull a prank on someone and posting it on Facebook or Twitter or something *sigh* Ill end my rage rant here =___=; And to something that actually concerns me There was a bomb threat at my school the other day and I didnt know! I was probably taking my exam Seriously! Look! I was like When the fu-? O_o Our security guards are a whole ton better than the Philippine SWAT team.
  7. Well I'm having a little problem as it seems my mycents isn't updating. I'm a relatively new member but I have done around 7 posts and it has been over 24 hrs now (Well, I believe this is the update time), but my account have yet to be updated with the mycents earned.
  8. Death is a rather powerful thing that affects our lives; it has happened, it does happen and it always will happen. But, we shouldn?t let the fear of death ruin our lives ? it?s going to happen, yes, but it shouldn?t be haunting us in our every waking moment that it turns us paranoid of even waking up. When someone near to us dies, it only makes them ever dearer to us since they are gone forever in the physical and living plain, so I think death is one thing that makes a person special. If everyone were to be immortal, we wouldn?t care about each other as much because we would get tired and worn of each other and it wouldn?t be as significant. About faith, yes, death affirms faith to us ? since we want to believe that there is a future beyond death, after life and such that our doings while we live have an effect on whether we go to a good or bad place for all eternity. But faith also affirms with us the will to go on, to go about our lives, believing that God will only take us at the proper time. And what I see death to be lastly, it is the unveiling of our true selves. When we live, as we live, we are usually molded differently from what we want ourselves to be to fit in with the rest of society (even a little), but on the brink of death (or even at the death of another) ? all those layers are removed and we find out who we really are, we realize what we had valued the most, so on and so forth.
  9. Is it a possible addition for like a roleplay area? Like topic starters provide the plot, settings and rule guidelines which needs to be adhered to by other members interested in joining their RP thread. Its just a suggestion as RPing is one of my favorite pass times. I'm not entirely sure if that has been suggested before and was shut down. If it has, I apologize.
  10. Here's what I do when I can't sleep. 1. Take a nice hot bath/shower and use some nice smelling shampoo and/or soap. 2. Drink a warm cup of milk. 3. Lie down, put on your headset and listen to some mellow music. 4. Deep breathing and humming. I hope this helps.
  11. Sshhh, I'm in class.

  12. Well, I have Internet Explorer (not sure of the version), Firefox New Version, Google Chrome and Safari on my laptop. 1. I never, NEVER use Internet Explorer because every time I use it to access even sites like Facebook it freezes and crashes like hell. 2. Firefox was my first choice, I've been using it for quite a while and it is very customizable. I change the Firefox Persona on a daily basis and it is rather fun, and there are add ons that help me out. But, lately, it's been really slow as hell, especially when it is updated, sad really. 3. When Firefox fails me, I turn to Google Chrome. It's fast and efficient; not as customizable and I'm still not used to it though. 4. Safari... I downloaded it and tried it, but it seemed slow as well. Not as slow as IE but slower than Firefox. It looked cool and all but it failed to deliver.
  13. Porcelain Child Broken by his hands, At the young age of two, Like the porcelain doll, But he forgot to bury you. Did he hear you? I wonder if Mother did, With the cold steel blade, And of you, they got rid. They should have not mistaken, You and live steel, It cannot feel a thing, The pain you did feel. Shattered and broken, You, the porcelain doll, They left you to fate, To destiny and the bell?s toll. Did they wept? Did they ever regret? You would wonder, And they didn?t, I would bet. Taken by the devil?s hands, Would the child ever be at peace? Receive mercy from the angels? For her sake, at least. _______________________________________________________ It is very much open to your interpretation and criticism is welcomed, as long as you don't be rude, alright?
  14. Final Fantasy is too overrated nowadays. Anyway, a true classic that you could play on PS1 (Or on your PSP if you could get a good PS1 emulator or something like that) is Genso Suikoden II/ Suikoden II. The story is absolutely fantastic and it has a lot of replay value with three different endings and 102 Stars of Destiny to find (102 allies, most of them you are able to add to your battle party). The characters are so colorful, they are all very interesting and for a 2D game, it is still my favorite.
  15. I believe superman was the worst game ever created... or aquaman for the nintendo 64. But both these games were just pure terrible. Also Gundam Seed Destiny is a terrible game, the one for PS2... not sure the sub-title of the game, but it was just not fun... at all.
  16. Well this might be a tad late... but Mabinogi is a fine free online MMO, also DOMO, Fiesta Online and Secret of the Solstice.Mabinogi is life mmo, more or less, and it adds a lot of unique systems like to play a lute, battle monsters and capable to explore. Its a fun game I must say, and the community is really active, you should take a look.Fiesta Online I didnt get to play much but it seemed decent and it has a fair amount of players currently playing it.Secret of Solstice is very similar to Ragnarok Online, but yet somehow comes up short despite being a game made years after RO. But the game is still somewhat entertaining and the graphics are a bit better than RO to some degree. But not much players on this game.Domo (Dreams of Mirrors Online), is a cel shaded MMO. I played this back in the day, not sure if the community was as active as back then. But this game was fun, and it had some unique classes you could play. Also capable of changing your class as you feel. It also had some unique races to choose from.
  17. I personally don't see any problem with Steam, at all. I am running a 64 bit, Windows 7 system and I get naught problems with Steam.... actually I get more problems with msn messenger than the Steam application. I really love the steam application due to its features, capable to re-download games you have purchased from their digital library, even if your computer was wiped or something on those lines. Also it allows you simple access to other players across the globe. Well, I guess this is only my experience with the software. I just really get no errors with it, never had it crashed or froze on me. Right now i just finished getting GTA 4 off steam, yes a game which is 14-16 GB big... no problems at all.
  18. I have a decent list of video game sound tracks I truly love as it added to the game experience. Here are a few of the following:Kingdom Hearts: This game pretty much has one of the best soundtracks I've seen added to a game. It adds so much to the story, and gives you the feel of being within the game and the struggle, happiness or anger of the characters or what dispossession they are within. From start to end, this series delivers.Final Fantasy Tactics: I loved the music in final fantasy tactics, the music somehow matched the gameplay so well. Ragnarok Online: Ragnarok Online was the first MMO I believed could have had such beautiful and mind blowing music applied to a game. Considering I started off on online games like graal online, where the music was either non existent... or just no... at that time. Ragnarok Online offered me so much to my online experience, and the music to all the different maps was indeed epic.Final Fantasy 7: Music was really good throughout the game, especially the lovely Sephiroth theme. This game obviously gets noted within my list.
  19. I understand what your getting at, but really having limited save points to a game isn't the cure to a easy game or what makes a game hard, though it could add to it. I just see having limited save points as... poor design, not everyone can play as long as some players, especially casual players and there is also the moment when light either chips out or some unimaginable external force stops you from playing (like your mother visiting or something). I think I prefer games that cater to both casual and hardcore players, with an option in difficulty setting for the hardcore players who love a higher level of difficulty.
