  1. This one is tough, Snlils has a good background and render. Biscuits has a great simplicity to it, which is nice. I will have to vote for Biscuit, 3:2 - Biscuit leads. That took me 5 minutes to decide...
  2. Sprite, don't get me wrong, that manip is awesome, I just think that Johnnys sig is really cool with the colors and the nice flow that it has.5:1 Johnny's up.
  3. Right now, Rise Against - Swing Life AwayAlso, some Ludacris, Motion City Soundtrack, Nelly, stuff like that.
  4. Wow, that is way better than my first, down as my sig.I didn't even save it as a .png so it isn't transparent.I would have to give it a 9/10, not perfect but pretty darn close.
  5. Saint_Michael, it looks like all you did with that layout from freepsd.com is change the text and a few small more things. :\
  6. I think that everyones sigs were amazing, except for mine, I should have waited until the next contest so I could let me have some time learning new things.I don't have any predictions on who will win, it is just too close to call right now.
  7. Like wassie, nice tutorial but I like the windows themes way too much more than a Mac. I just get free themes for windows blinds and stuff. I don't care if it slows down my computer, it is already slow. But once again, very nice tutorial.
  8. JUST CLARIFYING! The voting got messed up! Current score is now: Phyre: 5 DJLuki: 3
  9. I love the simplicity of Bis's sig. You usually don't see much of that anymore. SnXster has just too much going on and it is too big for my liking. 6:3 BiscuitRat wins!
  10. I vote for Saint_Michaels sig. I love the background, the colors, and the render. As for Snlil, it just isn't to my liking. I am from Minnesota so I think that the purple and gold should appeal to me but, it doesn't.4:4 Tie! Good luck to both of you.
  11. Very nice effect, a tutorial would be very nice. I love how you do them.I agree with ^, cracked windows and other stuff would be very awesome in this pic.Keep up the good work. 9/10.
  12. Ya, I agree with all of them. Not to 'Homer-y'. Try using grunge brushes to make the clouds like someone else said. Not much really good goes with homer so you have to be creative.6/10(LOVE the bg though.)
  13. That is very true biscuit. Although, I also used to beleive in something like reincarnation, which is someone being reborn after death (for those who do not know), and I still kind of do. I mean, if I don't beleive in a 'heaven' and 'hell' as we think of it religously, you could think of it as being reincarnated, heaven, and not, hell. All of this would support the scientific fact that matter, and most likely life for that matter, that biscuit brought up earlier.God, it is too early for me to be typing alot so I will stop here. lol
  14. DJLuki-Great text effectLove your backgroundVery nice blendingPhyre-Nice popout effectOkay effect with textJust not my styleMy vote is for Luki on this one.2-2 All.
  15. I would also have to go with cision, I love the effect with the render. But as the others said, that ring did kind of ruin the effect.5:0 Cison up.
  16. No suprise there... Anyway, I really need to find some fonts to download and tips on good text filling and stuff. Heck, I would even vote for Johnny on this one, it RULES!
  17. Think about it, you didn't any life before you were born, what makes you think there is life after you die. Think about it, how would our souls still exist? I mean, we could somehow live inside someone else's body and experience what they are doing without having any control over what they do. Hell, that could be happening as we post and do things daily. If you think about nothing, you will sometimes get an out-of-body experience while trying to place yourself in non-existantness. I have done it quite a few times, it feels really good, your mind just goes blank then you realize where you are. There is a chance that there is life after death but there is also always a chance that all these ghosts and spirits are just are imagination brought on by some half-baked story some people either made up or over exaggerated. If someone could present some circumstantial evidence of how bodily spirits can stay here on earth or anywhere for that matter, I would encourage them to do so. But, until then, I still beleive that once you die, time is practically over and you don't exist, you just, don't exist. I know that seems like a tough topic to comprehend, but can you just imagine that you die, and the second that happens, time rushes through you then you spirit, just, disappears, no more, good-bye Johnny. I love how you brought this topic up and was able to have us argue over it. And yes, this is a very controversial and religous topic. I admit to being a christian, but I still don't really beleive in half of the stuff. I rely on more scientific facts that point to different results in certain situations stated by The Bible. Sure, I admit that God, and Jesus, in some time did exist, but I still do not beleive that he created the universe or that Jesus got ressurected. God, in mine and many others opinion, could just be used as a simile to represent what created the whole universe, which I will not go into as that is also a very controversial subject including the Big Bang theory and many others. I am getting very tired of typing and carrying more off-topic as I go along. And by the way, all this, and I am 13 (turning 14 in 3 days) old?
  18. Beware: This tutorial is NOT fully explained, you need some experience in Photoshop and ImageReady to FULLY understand this tutorial. Although, you may be able to understand and figure it out on your own. I know there are about 2 tutorials already in this forums on rollovers but this one is different, you will use imageready instead of coding it yourself using Javascript or HTML. First, open up a new document any size you wish. Then, create your link the way you want it to look before you put your mouse over it. Example Then duplicate your layer(s), (it is best to merge your layers before moving on), and then edit it to what you would like it to look like once your mouse is on it. Example Once done with that, make your top layer(s) invisible via the little eye next to the layer in the Layers Pallete. Afterwards, move your image to Image Ready via the button on the bottom of your tool box. Once in image ready, there should be a window right above your layers palette with a tab labeled Rollovers. (This is assuming you haven't messed with your windows, other wise go to Windows > Rollovers and it should appear). Once selected, create a new frame in the rollover. Now once you have a layer called Over State in the Rollover palette, make your topmost layers visible again. Once your layers are visible, save it as optimized using File > Save as optimized... and create a HTML and images file. Now, to retrieve the code and images from the file you have just made. Find your file, and open it in any text editor that support html, which is almost all of them. Then find the code which should look like this: <!-- ImageReady Preload Script (Untitled-1) --><script TYPE="text/javascript"><!--function newImage(arg) { if (document.images) { rslt = new Image(); rslt.src = arg; return rslt; }}function changeImages() { if (document.images && (preloadFlag == true)) { for (var i=0; i<changeImages.arguments.length; i+=2) { document[changeImages.arguments[i]].src = changeImages.arguments[i+1]; } }}var preloadFlag = false;function preloadImages() { if (document.images) { Untitled_1_01_over = newImage("images/Untitled-1_01-over.gif"); preloadFlag = true; }}// --></SCRIPT><!-- End Preload Script --></HEAD><BODY BGCOLOR=#FFFFFF LEFTMARGIN=0 TOPMARGIN=0 MARGINWIDTH=0 MARGINHEIGHT=0 ONLOAD="preloadImages();"><!-- ImageReady Slices (Untitled-1) --><A HREF="#" ONMOUSEOVER="changeImages('Untitled_1_01', 'images/Untitled-1_01-over.gif'); return true;" ONMOUSEOUT="changeImages('Untitled_1_01', 'images/Untitled-1_01.gif'); return true;"> <IMG NAME="Untitled_1_01" SRC="images/Untitled-1_01.gif" WIDTH=200 HEIGHT=55 BORDER=0 ALT=""></A><!-- End ImageReady Slices --> Long, yes.Confusing, yes. The only good thing is you dont need to edit anything really. Just move it to anywhere you want it on your webpage. Just don't forget to upload your images to your server also! This is my first tutorial I have ever made so please be nice
  19. Ya, I noticed it was too green after I submitted it. I was trying to use a different color balance on the render but no colors looked good.Anyway, if I were to vote, I would vote for Luki, his design is really good and I love his text effect against that background, but too bad my vote doesn't countMine is about the 5th sig I have made with using brushes and other things, so I agree with everything you guys have said. I appreciate you give me a little C&C so I know what I can change to get more vote next time.
  20. Very cool story, I will have to look into it as it looks awesomely interesting, thanks for posting this.
  21. I use notepad for some things like if not much programming is required. If there is, then I use PHP Designer 2005 which has a very freindly interface that is easy to use. I usually just use Dreamweaver because notepad is way too basic, and PHP Designer lags my computer. I think Dreamweaver is probably the best out there especially with its built-in FTP system taht works with most servers unlike FrontPage. For you, a beginner, I would try out Dreamweaver. Very simple to use once you get it and starting your page is a snap, just choose what kind of page you want, then just insert some PHP or something.
  22. My old 'clan' website used to use this. It is very amazing in action with many options you can use. vBulliten is way better in my opinion, I have no clue why, but I still think it is the best. Lol.
  23. godglitcher, you can download the trial versions as http://www.paintshoppro.com/en/?utm_source=jasc&utm_medium=redirect&utm_term=/.As&utm_campaign=jasc for the tutorial, thank you so much, I always thought you just had to use flash and it is complicated. I will have to try this although it will probably lag my computer.
  24. Good tutorial. I figured I would ask here before anywhere else. What exactly is CGI and what is it used for? I have seen it around alot but I have never used it beacuse of not knowing what it was.If someone could just tell me what it is in here, give me a link to a good site about it, or even make a tutorial about it, I would be very grateful.Anyway, good tut.
