joseph0829 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2008 its been a couple or more year, Microsoft haven't release a 3rd version of their service pack, for Micorsoft's Windows XP. In the late 2007, Microsoft had announce of the release of their Service Pack 3 for Microsoft Windows XP. Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) is currently in development. As of January 2008, Microsoft's web site indicates a "preliminary" release date to be in the first half of 2008.A feature set overview has been posted by Microsof and details new features available separately as standalone updates to Windows XP, as well as features backported from Windows Vista, such as black hole router detection, Network Access Protection and Windows Imaging Component.for more information/updates about this post please send a reply to this forum. xboxrulz1405241485 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2008 lol, I don't think it's THAT bad. Windows XP is still a lot faster than Vista, that's for sure. I see no problems .... yet.xboxrulz
levimage 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2008 I think it is a big marketing gimick. I think m$ is just using their SP3 to force people to install a bunch of unnecessary fluff, and in an essence rely on their future technology. More important it is probably just more of a means to keep track of your pc activities, online tracking via their software, countering piracy with more undocument (untested programming). There will also be more ambigious EULA that forfeit your previous rights, licenses while requiring more of a dependence on m$ technology. It's true because many software has to be written for the Vista's OS. Which is more demanding than the PC's that are already out there. It is probably going to come to a point where if you not speaking to their servers or affiliate, you pc will not even run - kind of like a non-active hotmail account. That's just my guess. So you tell me, why should we upgrade?

toby 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 If it is far too much Vista stuff, I hope some reputable people crack it open and give us SP3Lite.
xboxrulz1405241485 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 what do you mean that it has too much Vista stuff? Windows XP is Windows XP, I'm very sure Microsoft won't put a lot of Vista technologies into Windows XP, or else why did they bother releasing Windows Vista.xboxrulz
mikesoft 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Wow, I didn't know about SP3! I'm gonna do a bit of research before upgrading, because my windows installation works just fine and I don't want to mess anything up.I'm surprised that they are releasing a new service pack for XP, since they have their new toy, windows vista, and from what I've heard, they need to put a little effort in making it a little better, apparently XP is the best way to go for now.I would upgrade to vista soon, when I get my DX10 video card and a better computer overall. xboxrulz1405241485 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Another thing you will need to know is that right now Service Pack 3 is currently under "gamma" testing (Release Candidate). So the final SP3 will come later.xboxrulz
iGuest 3 Report post Posted March 13, 2009 TechniqWindows Xp Service Pack 3 - UpdatesWith the release of Windows Vista , many home computer users are probably if its the right time to make the jump to Microsoft's latest addition to the Windows family. Some are perhaps concerned about security and stability, while many are probably wondering why they should even switch to Windows Vista, because Microsoft Windows XP seems to be doing the job. The short answer is that there are several reasons for upgrading. For example, Windows Vista has: (1) New features (2) Improved Security (3) Better overall user experience-reply by Cobra
iGuest 3 Report post Posted November 14, 2009 Xp is more faster than window vistaWindows Xp Service Pack 3 - UpdatesI have the XP sp 3. It has more beauty than vista . It installs the various drivers needed for pc automatically. -reply by amrinder
mahesh2k 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2009 How XP SP3 has more beauty than vista ? Besides that in a year or two drivers will not be supported for XP. So, are you going to say the same ?Besides that driver support alone doesn't make OS a beauty. But features, ease of use and support for application needs to be taken into count as well.
