I will repeat it again as the United States has officially announced Russia's influence to the world and that is...

 

Russia is a superpower for many reason, they have the world's largest nuclear weapon arsenal that is 10 times greater than the US, Russia's economy is also stronger than the US as BBC news reported this recently. Third they are an energy super giant and their military has been continuing to update in all forces of the 21 century weapons compared to the US and they have every domain of power in ideological, diplomatic and technological fronts. Russia is a superpower because they have the economics, the wealth, the diplomatic power, ideological, technological advances than any other country besides the US, they have the cultural sector and lets not forget their military levels (surpreme).

 

Russia has three countries that are still heavy part of Russia after the Soviet Union and that is Kazakhstan, Ukraine (NATO member) and Belarus. There is many ties these countries have together and also Georgia is very pro Russia and doesn't care for NATO nor does Belarus want anything to due with NATO either. The fact that Russia is a superpower without it's past Soviet countries is a lot to say how strong Russia is. Belarus will do anything Russia wants even if it was hand over invasion back to the Russian Union but Putin has a different plan than bringing back the Soviet Union. The bottom line is Post Soviet countries have very important ties with Russia than the West does. Russia supplies all of West Europe their oil but the post soviet countries it is more than that Russia has. Oil is one thing but land rights, basis, military forces and etc all still tied in many post soviet countries.

 

Russia is making plans and they can with or without China but China is also another story want it wants from Russia.

If any of you heard the News on CoasttoCoast radio last night with George Noory, NASA is going bankrupt and does not have the funds to complete the International Space Station as Russia was suppose to complete 40% of the station as they are planning their moon space station for 2015 on top of that. They may either need to help the complete the station or the station will go into limbo without the Russian�s to fix the US contract to finish it. The US Space shuttle is an outdated program that even the X-43 program went bankrupt and the US shuttle is just too expensive. A shuttle that takes a crew of 5 people to operate where the Russia space shuttle can fly unmanned and also dismantle its wings in space and attaching into the space station as a counterpart to the station. The Russians have flow more manned space missions that the numbers are impossible to beat that even the current Soyuz rocket has an 95% prefect record (has flown more than 520 missions). I just find it interesting when Russia was in the down in the 90�s but they still preformed their space missions and building nuclear arsenals but now they regained their superpower status again officially when it is expensive to improve military capability and continue space flights, how did they do it?

 

The US is on an economic plunge as many of us can admit this, not just housing, high gas prices and bad inflation rates but the UNited States is really falling where Russia is greatly improving. You see our problems with illegal immigratments entering the US and corporations continuing to outsource for cheaper labor overseas because the US labor is too expensive, we can�t even afford to fix our immigration problems not just the borders but the internal problems. What is unique about Russia, they don�t have an immigration problem at all, everyone who is not a Russian citizen has to have an entry visa, everyone and anything. The US is broken in so many ways that thr problems they have now will never be fixed as US Congress is out weight with heavy debt and discrimination suits that

Kill legislation as it is a democracy country allowing

Free will but also with major inflation as the US Federal Reserve can no longer stop inflation will see

More US agencies going under and more US companies will continue to outsource from high US wages increase.

 

The bottom line is the US is tanking and it's economy is going the opposite direction as a Superpower but to a Power Nation or 2nd Power.

 

I also wanted to state Russia is completely debt free as they cleared all their past deficits as the US is under it's biggest debt ever

China will be the next superpower for the Next 40 years. The United States of America was the most powerful county for about 100 years. Since the 1900 to 1940 it was Powerful. From 1940-1990 it was Super powerful and from 1990-2020 it will be powerful(declining). China today has more of the worlds talest building that any other country. Go look it up your self... The united states used too have almost all of the worlds tallest buildings just a few years ago. I remember the 1990s it seems like it was not to long ago, but so much has changed since then, its been 18YEARS! First off, America is not declining in power. We havn't stopped getting stronger since 1900. Right now, our military is stronger than it has ever been. America is only suffering temporarily right now from the war in Irag although we really shouldn't be suffering. We should be taking Iraqi oil to pay ourselves pack for everything we have done. People always say that Bush invaded Iraq for oil. Now, if you have half a brain in your head you will know that this is a bunch of bull. JUST LOOK AT GAS PRICES! If Bush would have invaded Iraq for oil, gas prices would be down to $0.30 a gallon! It's common sense people. Now, regarding China, India, and Russia. All three of these countries are third world countries compared to America. I'm not saying China and Russia arn't powerful cause they are one of the stronger countries in the world but they will never be able to match the you.S. In military power. If we could only really know what is going on in the military and government and all those secret files, we would really know how powerful we really are. We are Americans and we should be damn proud of it! We shouldn't doubt our country! We are only struggling right now because our economy isn't that great right now. But I can gaurantee that we will pull through as we always will. If we would only drill in Alaska, we would no longer be in an energy crisis. We're in a self-made crisis that we can easily pull through. We don't really need to invest trillions of dollars investing in alternate fuel sources. We have everything right here in America! By drilling in Alaska we create thousands of new jobs which would boost our economy greatly. Also, if we want to boost our econonmy we need to lower taxes on the wealthy people of the world. Think about it. The rich people are all the business owners who make jobs. If we lower taxes for the rich they will have more money and turn will spend that money on either say, building a new hotel, which would create hundreds of new jobs. We are American's; brag about it!

Let me tell You after the subprime crisis, Post freddie, fannie issues, And after AIG takeover, numerous companies in the US are facing a terrible situation.
Almost all countries are facing a crisis.
In spite of all this the 4 countries BRIC- Brazil, Russia India and China are still standing upright.
Even these have been beaten but, not as much as the US.
All the events in the recent past like the ECB meets all show that even the European countries haven't been saved.
In fact India could maintain inflation in the safe bracket for a considerably long period of time.
And if a country is economically sound it will subsequently become a superpower.
And china and india are two countries which have consistently posted very good GDP growth rates. China posted 11.4% in 2007-08 and that of USA was 2.2%

Have you read Thomas Freidman's "The World is Flat?" He agrees that China and India will become the next major superpowers, because they are making such rapid advances and working so hard to grow. He compares their education to ours here in the US, and it seems as if they are far more motivated at succeeding than we are. I guess it makes sense; we are probably thinking that we have it made for us, and they realize that you need to work to earn success, so they are working for it. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.

I have to say after being a born, raised and having the majority of my family in the United States I have a fairly unbiased approach to this debate as I now live and work in the UK and have for the past 10 years.

 

Looking at some of the posts they come from uneducated americans who have never been out of that country and assume the rest of the world is insignificant.

 

I do believe 110% that China,India, the EU and Russia (sorry Australia you don't have the geographical location or the population to become a superpower but definitely a major player) will overtake the you.S in terms of super power status.

 

There are several european countries with a higher average wae than the you.S

 

 

I am afraid the only reason the united states is a super power is due to its size as I feel there is a much much much higher standard of living in many other countries compared with the united states.

If the BRIC economies continue to see high economic growth over the next few years the ball will be in thier court.

 

I would also like to add that education is detrimental to a countries economy and I think this is some thing that needs to be worked on MASSIVELY in the you.S I am sorry but I have never met people as stupid ( I am glad

Great to hear such comments but what about the current subprime crisis, fannie mae, freddie mac and the failed 700 Bn $ bailout plan.

You can imagine what might happen if the republicans win the presidential election. I have serious doubts over rejuvenation of US economy and feel that the time of the newer superpowers has emerged up.

Adding further, Russia has gained in the recent past mainly due to rising oil prices as russia has huge oil reserves. On the contrary US also has oil reserves but it doesn't use it & in fact it imports a lot of oil

Why are every one so mean to the next, we all live in one place but no one smiles but a few. How can this so divided country stand any much longer and then wrath will come upon it.
