You know, my answer is two part to this.I am not against abortion, yet I won't say I am for it. It is true that I am pro-choice, but I don't want to seem like a monster. I believe in conditional abortion, which means that if a baby is going to be born into an unfair environment then I support an abortion of that child. But I don't agree with abortion of perfectly able families, if this family had enough sense to have sex then they need to take the consequences. But you may say the same is for the less fortunate group, yes the parents are at fault, but I don't agree in just letting a child be born into a horrible environment just to punish the parents, but if the parents can support a child then they must. I also believe that it should be a group decision between the parents instead of how it is with just the mother getting to make the choice. People say that, hey the mother had to carry the child then they should have the choice. But the baby is as much the fathers as it is the mothers, the father had to put up with the late nights and supporting the mother. And to support my point, if the father doesn't want the baby to born but the mother does, then technically it should just be the mothers fault for having to support the child, but no we make the father pay child support. Then of course there are always rape victims, I believe that their abortions are totally moral and a sane decision and nothing can be done to avoid that.I hope this was understandable.

I'm for abortion if, and only if, it's the sole decision of the pregnant girl. If other people coaxed her into aborting the baby, like parents or a husband for example, then I'd say, "You know what, screw them. If you want the baby, I'll point you to a few people who can help you through caring for your new baby." This is the same viewpoint of one of the only people who run an abortion clinic in one of the states in the US. (It was on an issue of Time, I forget who it was.) "If the mom still wants the baby, screw everyone else, she's keeping it."

I don't like abortions myself, but I'm still pro-choice, because I think other people should have that right. If I ever impregnate anyone outside my will (Yes, my will, not theirs. I wouldn't rape anyone) when I'm an adult, then I would advise them to have an abortion, unless they want to keep the baby.

Also, it's a concept of human reactions to rights. If you have a right, you're actually less likely to exercise it (in the case of some rights) than if you didn't have it.

I am 99 percent against abortion. Maybe because I have a baby myself, I don't know, but I always just ask, what if your mom had an abortion? How would you feel? (You wouldn't) In the case of rape/incest/etc I understand, or if you are not in the physical state to carry/deliver a baby, also understandable. However, the money or maturity issues? Get over it.If you can have sex, you can think of something better to do. There are tons of people looking for a kid to adopt, but most people will just have an abortion these days. Look up safe haven laws in your area, where I live you can take a newborn to any hospital, police department, or fire station and drop it off, no questions asked.Watch the movie Juno, you might see my point of view a little bit better, great independent film that has really hit it big.

My views come down to: Once there is a heart beat, abortions are murder, and should only be done under dire conditions, such as if the birth will kill the mother, or such. Before than, I say it shouldn't be thought of lightly, and shouldn't be considered "family values" or "public appropriate"; basically frowned upon, (considering you should be safe and responsible, rather than getting 5 abortions or however many a year).

Personally I'm against abortion in all cases except where it's like rape or other time when it's out of the woman's control. Like, I'm not against people's right to do what they want, but at the same time, a baby, even before they're born, is basically a person... and that's the real problem with this debate... some people argue that a baby isn't a person until they're born. And really, who am I to say? Though I disagree, and people continue to squabble over meaningless stuff like trimesters, I think that ultimately it is a person's right to make their own decision in this, because there's no way we can really decide otherwise. I just would never advocate abortion personally. And on the subject of religion, I think that a lot of people are absolutely indoctrinated by religion, but there are a lot of people who aren't religious who aren't, and there are a ton of people who let their lack-of-religion or popular demagogues shape their views, and I don't see how this is any different.

Well, I actually saw a website that actually says the Christian Bible says that "life" is similar to "breath", so only at the first breath can life begin. Or something like that. One more reason why Christians are not morally hindered to support abortion...

I can not participate in the poll, because "FOR" or "AGAINST" abortion is not enough options for me.For me it depends for the reason. If the couple are too young to have a baby, and they did not want it, why is it wrong to take an abortion? Is it better that the child is not loved? Not wanted, not cared for and that nobody cares about it? No, it is not. A baby should be loved, if not I can not see why they should get the child. Some may say that abortion is murder, and that is maybe correct. But I think it is much better to take an abortion then raising a child that will never be loved. If you know what I mean. And women that are raped. I have heard and read lots of stories from Africa where women get raped, get pregnant and then they haven't got the option of abortion. How horrible is that? I am not saying that baby would not ever be loved, but still I think that every woman that gets pregnant should have the option of abortion. So; If they do not want the baby, and they are not capable to raise it I see no problem with abortion.

I find abortion to be a generally complex subject. On one hand , you could have a girl who'd been overwhelmed at a club and gone along with it not exoecting to get pregnant. On the other you could have one who'd been raped. Abortion for me is almost dependent on the conditions that is forcing you to take action in the first place. While rape/prostitution cases could be an excuse , a teenage girl fresh from all the warnings and documentary's about it gets pregnant and says she didn't know any better , would almost certainly for me be a bit pathetic. Like a perfectly middle class women with some money saying she couldn't be botheredAbortion isn't acceptable in all cases , but it is a usefulness =D

ISNT ABORTION A RIGHT?

Shouldnt a woman have the right to her own body, to do with it what she pleases? If she wants to have an abortion, is it not her own body? God gave us all free will, who are we to take it away from her?

If she wants to have an abortion, or walk around town nude, or punch someone in the face, who are we to stop her? And all 3 cases are indeed equivalent, because the right made use of is the right to infringe upon the rights of others. Shouldnt a persons right to throw a punch stop where anothers nose begins?

Is a persons right over his or her own body so absolute that it takes precedence over the right to life, or the right to not be visually or physically assaulted in public? Of course our society recognizes that once a persons rights take away from the rights of others, there should be limits placed.

A society that condones murder, adultery, rape, and pornography publicly accessible to children is providing all the wrong rights to all the wrong people. What about the rights of the children, the spouses, the rape victims?

America has a long history of treating classes of its citizens as subhuman, from the Native American savages whose lands were stolen, to African-American slaves whose value was determined by the Three-Fifths Rule; from Hispanic-American citizens forcibly deported during the Great Depression to free up jobs for Caucasians, to Japanese-Americans placed in internment camps during WWII.

Todays leading abortionists do not understand these principles, as evidenced by their support for Partial Birth Abortion, which presidential candidate Barack Obama has consistently supported both with his words and his voting record. Under the law prior to 2007, children could be born alive after such late-term abortions and left to starve to death on hospital beds.

Abortion is not just about the right to kill unborn children, but to kill ones outside the womb as well! Although a bill outlawing this horrible practice was passed in 2003, the courts refused to uphold it while abortionists fought furiously against it. Why? Why promote the killing of newly born children? Their priorities are ones of selfishness, and not the moral ones they claim.

Some will ask, But what about cases of rape or the mothers life being in danger? Shouldnt abortion be allowed then? However, such cases are rare and even before Roe v. Wade abortions were permitted under such circumstances. When the mothers life is in danger from the pregnancy, it is her right to life that is at stake also; so in such an instance, she should be given the option to abort.

The people who are against abortion are usually also against animal euthanasia and this kind of stuff in general. However, in the case of euthanasia, there is another argument involved: intention. The people who are considering euthanasia are generally very nervous about the subject, even if the patient does try to persuade them. If the procedure goes on, it goes on out of love, and not hate.If a person goes ahead and does an abortion because it will cost her a little money that she can afford, I'd say not to let her. But if the woman has a genuine reason, such as if that little money is only just affordable, and they need it to make ends meet, then I'd say let her, because she's doing it out of love for her unborn fetus and doesn't want it to live a harsh, cruel life when it becomes a baby. I don't think the child can be made a ward of the state, or adopted, that easily.

Reading this i see a lot of two sided minds.Abortion is not black and white. For one, I am against having an abortion but very much for allowing people to have the choice. Another obvious issue is the humanity of an abortion. Stop saying it's murder please. It isn't murder. Anything that is under controversy cannot be set as one thing. Murder is not even something that can be proven, it is the conception of an opinion. Trials are chosen by jury in my country, by people making opinions.Another point is i see a lot of people saying the mother "deserves the baby" because she made "a bad decision."I am sorry that i do not see having sex as a bad decision. I think sex is a normal thing that should be enjoyed as often as possible. However, i do agree if you do not protect yourself and prepare yourself for the consequences you are making a mistake. But saying a baby is punishment for such a mistake? WHo is it punishing? If the mother feels like the baby is a punishment she will resent the child and it will grow up to probably have some psychopathic disorders because of a bad childhood. In such case would it not have been better if the baby was aborted, to save the quality of life for one mother rather than delve two people into a bad life? Another argument i disagree with the validity of is the argument that an abortion will cause regret for the rest of the wpuld-be-parent's life. Obviously, they know what will come of them not having the child. It is a decision. I'm sure, X-Rated Content Ahead, people who masturbate do not feel remorse for the potential children they killed off. These people can always become impregnated again, women have somewhere around 750k eggs at birth.Pro-Choice for life. Anti Abortion. Atheism Ponderer./signed Chris.

I disagree.

Abortion : For Or Against Abortion?

I'm sorry... But I disagree. It is not just a moral. After a mother terminates the life in her womb she grieves, regrets and hates the choice that she has made. She knows that what ever was growing inside of her was apart of her. It had something that belonged to her in them creating something no scientist could.

Abortion

Abortion : For Or Against Abortion?

I think abortion is wrong it should only take place if the mothers life is at risk.Parents choose to have children if they can't look after them then shouldn't go through with having unprotected sex.I also believe the father has a right whether the woman should have an abortion

I am pro choice, I believe a couple should be able to decide whether or not they should proceed to allow the pregnancy to fully develop. What happens when the child comes with severe deformations, its a rape pregnancy, it endangers the life of the mother, and for less develop countries it endanger the well being of a whole family. Some family out there might simply not have the resources to feed one more mouth, I know we have it nice here in the U.S. but what about in third world countries? Is it responsible to allow one more life to come to live just to suffer?
