Free Ipod Just Complete The Survey

has any one ever been dumb enough for those stupid ads?I see them on almost every "bored" site . you know the sites you go to when youre bored.youtube abum ect...they all say click here who's legs are these blah blah .. and then you have to COMPLETE a survey and part of the COPMLETION process is to have a friend COMPLETE a survey too. the tos says your friends cant send it back to you. therefor the survey can NEVER be COMPLETED because its a continoius chain that will never end.they're freaking everywhere and someone has to pay for those ads, who is it and what do they get just an email list for spam? seems like a really good way to get a completely untargeted audience of people w/ lots of mail in thier bulk folder.maybe I should've posted this in the vent ?

Yes, it certanly is for the vent forum.Anyway, i totally agree with you, i don't like those ads a litle bit, in fact, i am tired of trying things like that too see if they are true, but with a few exceptions, all of them are scams to get people to give their email adresses to get publicity, spam, etc... .Of course they win a lot of money, the list of emails that they get it is worth a lot of money, they usually sell it to companys, and those companys hire a webdesigner, programmer, spammer, whatever, to send cool spam emails to all the list of emails to spread a product.Also the websites, even the most credible, by this lists of spam to send emails of products once and a while, you can beleave it.

yea it really get annoying when you see it every site you go to. You know its a scam just to get your email address. And i hate when i see people who say yea it is true i just got my ipod. When you know they are lieing. I just wish they would end this type of thing already we arent stupid we know it is a scam.

I hate these things. It says it's free but really you have to like some up for a certain number of things that cost money for subscriptions, or you have to refer enough people to join and do the same thing. I dont know about you guys, but I would rather just buy the thing then go through all the stuff that yo need to go through to get one for 'free'. Someone rich should just start giving them out free on the web. lol.

I hate them too, but you can actually get a free iPod. Free shipping and everything. I dont do it becuse im not 18, but i know someone who has and it came within a week after he filled out everything. You should try it. Big items like Laptops take longer to get enough points for, but worth the work since a $2,000 is completly free. I do hate the pop ups. There is a 1,000,000 different ways they could do it. And i never get spam in GMail.

Yes I remember, few weeks ago, I have received email from my 11 years daughter saying

"hey, go here and we both get a free Apple Color iPod
pretty pretty please ...."

Because I encourage her on the net since she was 5 years old, I wanted to help and started invistage the matter. Here is my results:

1. I found that the age have to be 18. That mean this program make her to lie. I was very angry because I say all the times that "lying is the origin of all sins". If you can not lie any lie, you can not make anything wrong.

2. The program invite you to make survey, admit your address, birth date and email address. So it collect this information and sell it to future spammers.

3. You have to complete offers from some sponsors [ that the obstacle]

4. You have to invite or refer 5 friends and they have to do the same (conduct survey, admit their address and signup offers from the sponsors etc)

That mean you will never satisfy their conditions. NEVER. They only collect your information. sell it to others and use it or others in future spanning on you.

I was told by someone or other that these things actually work if you actually do all the stuff they require you to do. I never tested it, since I already have an iPod, but supposedly..

 

That being said, I don't see how they expect very many people to fall for the ads. I know my mom did once, but I got really upset at her afterwards because it put a virus on the computer.. it wasn't an iPod one, though. I guess the people who sponser the ads are the companies looking to distrubute viruses and the ones looking for email lists to sell to people looking to distribute viruses.

I competely agree. What really bugs me is that they don't even seem to want to take the time to make the ads even look half way decent. It looks likey the made the ad in Mircosoft Paint (not that I have something against that program). You think that if they at least want people to click and take a look on their site that they'd at least make there avertising half way decient. You wouldn't buy a product from someone if all they did for the packaging is draw on it with a crayon.

The free iPod from Apple (referring 5 friends) is real but it's tough to do. Apple said about 45 people have recieved their free iPods. Now the others is completely fake and really annoying. "Who's face is this?" "Who's legs are these?" "Who's scalp does this belong to?" "Does Jennifer Anniston's name start with an J or P?" - LoL. Some crack me up, but when I see people fall for it I'm just in silence.

They are annoying, but i dont click them, so i dont know what it does when you do. But i sometimes play the 'game' ads, and because I have a good pop up blocker it blocks the pop up, and i just close the pop up notice, and i can play the game without even that.

I also dislike those ads. I remember seeing those sites a long time ago and everyone back then thought they were scam sites trying to collect user information. Once it was in the media that the sites were actually sending out free ipods people flooded them to sign up. I don't see why the site is still being promoted. People should just give it up now. Everyone who would have signed up has already signed up.

I've always wondered if people ever fell for those things. Sure, there are some that they say a "real" but you'll end up fetching money from your wallet somehow. Nothing is truly free. You paid for it somehow but you didn't notice. It's like those popsicle sticks with things engraved on them. You get to win *item* because of your luck. They don't worry about giving it to you because you, and many other people wanting to win paid for their popsicles so they can win a price. Nothing is free in today's commercialism. They just make it seem free.

Those sites are dumb. My friend was suckered into one of those. A friend needs to give them your e-mail before you can get the iPod. I emailed telling hime he was going to get suckered in from it, and I never clicked on the link from the mail.

Not all of these ones are like that, my friend completed one and did all hsi obligations and recieved an ipod.
