  8. hi ...you made a great choice coz the future now going towards ASP.NET but if you decided to learn ASP you should learn .net framework as well coz this is where ASP installed on you don't have to be expert about .net framework but at least you should know how to use it with ASP your first step should be with e-books there s a lot of them on the net also there is tutorials which i think it is the best for you coz you are already know PHP that is mean you are not a beginner the best tutorials is on microsoft website http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ try it and good luck

  10. microsoft certification mcad and mcsd had been retired a few month agoand everyone...like me (who take a shock)and was preparing to enter the exam should begin from the beginningi was studding so hard to pass the examan even bought mcad / mcsd self-paced training kit microsoft .net core requirement but now i should begin againi know they should be the samebut in my opinionalthough you built pages in asp.net or even you are professional in using themyou should study hard before enter the examjust to make sure that you will pass it in high gradeall the retired thing had been done because that exam based on visual basic 2003and microsoft released visual basic 2005 and visual basic 2008so it is obvious that sooner or later the will upgrade the examjust the unlucky people like me couldn't pass the mcad examany wayin the first time i get angrybut after a whilei read the topicsi found the new exam even better and more specific and suitable to all kind of programmingso they replaced mcad with mcts and mcsd with mcpdso every one who is preparing to the old exams ...stopand take a look to the new examsi hope you enjoyed the topic
  11. thanks for your replyand my problem is i have several images in png in my wordpress blog and unfortunately i can't replaced them to gif coz they will have very ugly edges, so i made them in png and they worked great in firefox, opera, google chorm, but not in ie6. so i tried fix them by using these methods, but i couldn't make them work until i used plugin in wordpress theme which is work when i added twin helix v2.0. but when i tried to add it manually it didn't work. i don't know why, but i think the problem where to put the <style> tag. i put it in the header, it didn't work, also in css file. by the way, my wordpress theme not a free theme but a theme i made it my self using apache, php and photoshop and of course my own CSS, so i had a full control on it . but the point why it is not working so i decided to ask about it here in these forums, in case somebody can help. Notice from truefusion: Please don't write posts in "poem format," having a new line every now and then.

  13. first i began with HTML and JAVA SCRIPTS but then i stooped to see a lot of problems to deal withtables width, jumping images, shadows...ectthere for i decided to open the source code of others and see what is happening this is the first time i saw CSS and i found it great...it fixed a lot of problemsand reach my imagination of making layoutsfrom that time till now i use it as a backup to my pagesi use mostly external CSS file no matter what is my pagesPHP, ASP, WORDPRESSbut as some members saidi hate browsers or to be more specific ie browser who can't read my CSS rightand makes me spend hours to fix bugs
  14. i agree with everyone ... HTML and CSS are the basics... after that you can move to java scripts...which is work like a back up...to them fixing errors or adding effects... after that you can move to PHP or ASP ASP.NET and .net framework now used widely... you can start with DREAMWEAVER for learning PHP especially if you want to go deep to learn database imean MYSQL which is used with PHP also if you love animations you can learn flash macromedia first and be more professional and learn action script... also you can mix flash with PHP to make greats web sites... there is a lot of books and tutorials in the net about CSS i think this wesite is very useful to begin http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
  15. Hi…everyone I'll write this time about cheat sheet.. I don’t know about you but I really love cheat sheet… They are very useful for beginners in CSS.. And very helpful for professionals Because simply no one can remember everything …I mean every rule and every property… So I'll give you my own cheat sheet that I use for CSS 1- The syntax: Syntax selector {property: value;} External Style Sheet <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" /> Internal Style <style type="text/css"> selector {property: value;} </style> Inline Style <tag style="property: value"> 2- Generals: 3- Fonts: 4-text: To be continued…with part-2- I hope you'll find it useful..
  16. This is my first post and I want to share with a little bit about CSS. These CSS properties very useful, but I think it used rarely. these are: clip, min-height, white-space, cursor, and display the amazing thing about them that are widely supported by all browsers. Let's start… 1- clip: It works like a mask. That means it masks the content of the element in a rectangle shape. To use this property we should set the position to absolute, set the top, right, bottom and left to relative Ex: ? .clip { position: relative; height: 250px; width: 400px; border: 1px solid #0000;}.clip img { position: absolute; clip: rect(50px 160px 100px 50px);} ? 2- Min-height:? This property allows us to specify the minimum height of the element. This is very useful when we want to balance our layout. Ex: ? .minheight { min-height: 600px;} The problem appears when we use the browser ie6. ie6 doesn't support this property but, don’t worry there is a hack. .minheight { min-height:600px; height:auto !important; height:600px;} ? 3. White-space: This property specifies how white-space is handled in an element. For example, specify white-space: nowrap will prevent the text from wrapping to next line. Ex: ? em { white-space: nowrap;} ? 4. Cursor : When we change the behavior of a certain button, we should change the cursor too. For example, if we disable a button, then we should changed the cursor as well (to default arrow) to show the user that is not clickable any more. Ex: ? .disabled { cursor: default;} .busy { cursor: wait;} .clickable:hover { cursor: pointer;} ? 5. Display inline / block : These two properties are very useful when we try to arrange our layout. Inline elements (like <em>, <span>, and <strong> tags) are rendered on the same line. But bock elements (like <div>, <h1>, and <p> tags) are rendered on a new line. Ex: ? .block em { display: block;} .inline h4, .inline p { display: inline;} I wish you find this post useful...
