  1. A clan is a group of people that all play the same game (or in many cases they play multiple games together) that come together to establish a community within that game or set of games. Often the different clans have different criteria for admission into the squad, or some sort of try-out is involved. The group will often play together within their game. For example, in Runescape, the clan would most likely go into the wild with each other and attack other players or smaller groups in the wild. If victorious, the squad will share the spoils with one another and move on. In other types of games, like first person shooters, clans will often challenge other clans to different matches available within the game. Having clans adds a new variety in gaming that a player not participating in a clan would not be able to experience. It adds new challenges and a fresh sense of competition among groups and not just individuals. Clans are almost always a positive experience for members and most members remain in clans for the majority of their game playing careers. Hope this helped a bit.
  2. I think your site looks very good for the most part. The introduction was interesting and unique and obviously tied in very well with the name of your site. I will agree that you have to make sure that the pictures don't layer one on top of the other, because then it creates a very odd looking picture. I also agree that you should maybe have the words "Click Here" somewhere around that picture scroller so that your guests know to click on that spot to continue on to the main site, because I know I waited a few seconds for it to continue on to the main site until I realized that it was repeating and that I had to click it. As for the colors of the site, they look alright, but I feel that the orange with the red makes for a slightly awkward combination. I think if you had a lighter red or pink (similar to the background color of your banner) that it might look a bit better. Otherwise, the site is very impressive and looks good.
  3. Excellent work on your sig. I think the way you blended the render was perfect (feet or no feet ). Although it is monochromatic, I think the color fits well in the sig. As for that white star, it doesn't really bother me, it actually didn't get my attention until someone mentioned it earlier. Otherwise, excellent job, I like it very much.
  4. Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it. I think for the moment I will use one of the free channels that they offer until we can get someone from our squad to host it for us and then we will be all set. Thanks again.
  5. Is anyone familiar with the free servers that are offered? What kind of control are you given and such. Thanks for the information though as to whether or not I can host a TeamSpeak server through Xisto. For some reason, I was under the impression that it would work. I suppose if the free servers don't work out for some reason we could simply have a member host the server from his computer for now, but if anyone has any information or past experience with the free servers, please tell me. Thanks once again.
  6. Hi, I was interested in hosting a TeamSpeak server for my squad and we originally considered that a member would simply host it from their own computer and leave it on for all the members to use, but for some reason, I got the impression that I might be able to host TeamSpeak on my site that I got through Xisto. Their website is http://www.goteamspeak.com/ . I was wondering if there was actually a way to host a program such as this so that we would actually have a server through the site. Also, I was wondering what kind of impact this might have on my bandwidth and such. But first I was wondering if it was possible at all to host the server through a Xisto site. Thanks for your help.
  7. Did that other girl maybe tell you that Kati hated you because there was something in it for her? Perhaps that other girl had a hidden interest, maybe she doesn't want you two to happen. It's just something to look into and be aware of, because it's happened to me when I have gotten a slightly altered "truth" from a friend because she had her own seperate agenda. Just check into that and make sure there isn't any foul play from the other parties.
  8. I don't know too much about the specifics of routers, but all the same, I have a Linksys here at home that we also use for wireless. I have yet to really have a complaint of the speed of the hardwire internet or really the wireless, they both seem to work quite well. The only problem is that sometimes you have to manually reset the connection (which is literally unplugging it and plugging it back in and is quite simple). We got this when we purchased the Comcast Self-Install kit at Best Buy, because they have some pretty good deals for routers and modems then. When we asked about D-Link, the sales representative told us that with his experience they were one of the worst options, obviously other people here have had other experiences. They were the same price too, so he wasn't trying to sell us the more expensive one, that was his honest opinion.
  9. Well, I think browser is different and like previous people said, it's not possible to activate or deactivate the auto complete of other people's browsers, but you can deactivate your own. Here's a link to a quick guide if you have Internet Explorer, otherwise you can seach Google if you have a different browser. http://csharpcomputing.com
  10. While people are at it, can anyone post some guides to learning and the basics of PHP?
  11. That's very impressive that something so simple and primitive could work so well. It is unfortunate, however, that it did in fact happen. Hopefully, banks and other institutions will that this event and use it to improve their security and safety systems. It is always easier to learn from other people's mistakes than from your own.
  12. I vote for Biscuitrat. I like his sig's layout and color scheme. Cison's looks good, but it appears to just be a render, not sure about the brushing although I think it's still very good. I'm aware that Biscuitrat's isn't much more than the render but it just seems to do a bit more for me.Biscuitrat Up6 : 2
  13. I believe that that is how the system works, although I am not completely positive. I have heard from past accounts that there can be problems with reseller accounts. One main problem being that the reseller has no control over the accounts and programs that he is selling for and therefore can guaruntee really...nothing. Someone I knew was doing reselling and it failed when the accounts he was selling went down and didn't work for his customers. I caused quite a few problems for him. I'm sure, however, that it's not always like that and it was possibly just a one-time occurence. My suggestion would be to find who he is selling for and perhaps purchase directly from them. Wouldn't it be cheaper that way anyways, because there is no middleman?I'd wait to hear what other people's past experiences have been when they've purchased different services through resellers.
  14. Nice work on that signature, I think the colors and brush choice make it stand out very nicely.
  15. I'm going on vacation today, and I counted up the number of days that I will be gone, which is 19 (I'm fairly sure) and I checked that with the number of credits I now have in store. I realized that I would have about seven left after my trip and I realized that I wasn't exactly sure how many credits were required to keep an account set as "active" because I have heard many different numbers from both other users and moderators ranging from 5 to 10 and I was just wondering what the official number was. Thanks.
  16. I just have one final question, does the recipient have to push accept to any sort of PM or e-mail? Because then that might make it harder for this system. Like, if someone is leaving today and they just realize that they need more credits, then they won't be able to push accept for them to actually be recognized and added to his account. So I was just wondering if there was such a system for it.
  17. I think that signature looks awesome, well done. I like everything about it, the colors, the script font and the render (and obviously the quote that goes with it). Absolutely awesome.
  18. Interesting I had started my signature with the exact same render too, but I had a different plan as to how to lay it out. You have a good signature tough, Saint Michael, I think I'll still finish mine anyways.
  19. Thank you very much, OpaQue for setting up this system. I know it will probably help many people and prevent them from having their accounts suspended while they are on leave.Only question, does the 3% commission apply if you are putting it in your bank as well? Or just when you are sending credits to other users?
  20. Not sure if I'll make a sig for this one, but what is a "fractal" theme?
  21. I suppose this question is more specifically for the administrators and moderators, but I feel that perhaps some feedback from other users might be of help. My question is whether or not it might be possible to make the Hosting Credits that we all earn per post might be able to be used as a type of currency. For example, I'm aware that there are many forums that allow such a feature that credits earned from posts can be used as a currency to either reward other forum members with or to purchase some sort of item.My thinking behind it is that things often come up, for example, family emergencies or unexpected removal of computer and for people, it might not always be the easiest to keep up the credits that they need to keep their hosting. Now if we were able to trade and pass on credits, one member would be able to loan a certain number of credits to another member so that the receiving member is able to maintain his hosting while he is unable to participate on the forums. This prevents many unnecessary account suspensions that occur every once in a while. In return the recipient could write an I.O.U. of some sort and either return the credits at a predetermined date with or without interest. If some sort of system for this is possible then I would like to ask that we may implement it as it may prevent many problems in the future.
  22. Wait, so the only text is the name that I choose for the dragon? Why can't I put my name on it?
  23. My first and current phone (second cellular phone) have both been made by Motorola and I was very pleased with both. The first, I got a while back and I was very impressed, because even until this year it was still able (in my opinion) to compete with some of the newer phones available. It didn't have many of the little luxuries like games, but for what it had/was, it was a fine machine. I decided to get a new one when I got a new plan. I'm not sure of this model number, it doesn't seem to be anywhere on the phone, but it's a Motorola nonetheless. I again am quite pleased, a nice upgrade from my original and works beautifully. Sorry I don't know the model numbers, I wish I had. All I know is that I got them from Verizon (great provider) and it has BlueTooth.
  24. I was born in Chicago and have lived in a suburb of Chicago my entire life. To be completely honest, I'm quite content here. I've even asked my parents if they could hold onto my house for a while and try not to sell it, because I hope to be able to own it when I'm older too. I think this place is perfect.
  25. I'm not sure if this has been previously discussed or not, I did search for it and was unable to find any previous posts on it. My question is...why does this Xisto forum take so dang long to load?!!I use Avant Browser which runs off of Internet Explorer and it seems that all my other websites load at efficient rates for having a cable connection, however, once I get here and try to navigate through the forum, it becomes a burden. It takes so very long for some pages to load and it's quite a nuisance. I can honestly walk away for a couple minutes sometimes and come back and still be waiting, while a different webpage will load in seconds. Does anyone else experience this?
