  1. I like the render and the colors. What I don't like is the text - that could use some sprucing up. Otherwise, I think it looks good, but I'm a sucker for rpg images.
  2. I think your girlfriend will love it. Very pretty and colorful and shows how much you like her! My only suggestion is to make it a bit smaller. The length seems to be a bit too much.
  3. The circles are interesting but that tank has got to go! How about using a render with more facial expression? hehehe
  4. Nice job! I like the vivid coloring and all off the abstract shadows. I would like it even more if the knight was more of a focal point than a background image though. Overall, good stuff!
  5. Nice job! I especially like the text. I think the monotone looks good. I love the shadowing on the render's face. Did you do that yourself? It's very dramatic!
  6. lol! Funny stuff. How come I don't remember any cactuars? Was that a nintendo game too?
  7. Ack sounds like your Photoshop has seen better days! I don't know how you stand it freezing up on you like that everytime you use a brush. Maybe you have a bad abr file? Have you downloaded and installed any new brushes recently? How long has it been doing this?Anyway, about your sigs, I like the first two. The border on the first one is different and funky. The second one is striking because the render is so white. I think the third one would only apeal to a male species because it's just a picture of a girl that has her boobs hanging out... just gross. The fourth one is ok, but I don't think it's cool to show people smoking. I like the first one the best. Nice vibrant colors and I like the lightning effect and border.
  8. Awesome effect! You really made the colors stand out. What did you do to make it look like that?My only gripe is with the text. It doesn't seem like it belongs in the picture.Keep up the good work. It's nice to see a different style of sig!
  9. I installed Gimp and started working with it. Actually getting into the program and learning everything is a bit challenging, but many things are similar to Photoshop. It would probably be allot better if I already knew what all of the advanced tools did. I know most of the basic stuff, but beyond that I feel pretty lost. The brush set that comes from Cybia is very extensive, but I'm not able to use the unique brushes that I selected from deviantart.com. From the research I did, Gimp can actually use Photoshop's .abr brush files, but they have to be the version 1 brush. All of the files I downloaded must have been a later version. The biggest gripe I have about Gimp right now is that there are too few brush resources. When you find an awesome brush you would like to try, it is almost always in Photoshop format. There is a program out that will convert some of the older versions into Gimp brushes, but it looks a bit cumbersom and has no graphical user interface. Also, most of the sig tutorials out there are based on Photoshop so it can be a bit confusing for the graphically challenged. I really do like the program though. I'm going to keep it and hope that future upgrades of Gimp will support more Photoshop brushes - or there will be a better program to convert the files. And it's FREE! Can't beat that!
  10. Good job on this sig. The only suggestion I would make is to make the small black text below the symbol easier to read. It's hard to read because some of it is black on black.
  11. Nice job on this one! I like the background and the text. If you don't look at it too hard, it looks awesome, but if you really disect it, the warrior looks a bit seperated from his sword. Are these two seperate renders? The artwork style of the sword doesn't seem to match the style of the warrior. Does that make any sense?
  12. Both versions are interesting and draw your eye. I like the background and vivid coloring that you did with the red one, but the text doesn't look quite right. If it were mine I would try working with the text a bit more - maybe a different font?
  13. How about using the colors in the army suit of the original render? For example, if he was wearing an arctic camoflague, use black and white colors. The color that is being used now doesn't seem to match the mood or the character. I like your second sig better. That's one scary looking dude!
  14. Great job on this sig! I really like that font. Which one is it? You did a great job at making the illusion of the bad dude popping out at us. Nope, I can't find one thing I don't like about it.
  15. lol! Are you joking? I don't see your name anywhere. Are you offering any hints as to its general area?
  16. HA! 10 out of 10 for creativity and heart! I think this could be an awesome sig if you worked with it some more. If the face was blended in like the rest, that would be a good start.
  17. This sig is very bright and vibrant and draws your eye. I like the colors, but the render of the woman doesn't seem to belong in the picture. The Luki line on the bottom also looks like it doesn't belong. Keep at it!
  18. Hey congratulations on getting this graphics job! I like the banner. The only thing I would suggest is to do something more with the text, like what you did in the Freezor sig - just make it stand out more so that you notice the name.
  19. Hmmm decisions decisions... Ok if I had to pick which one I like best, it would be Freezor. I really like the background and how you incorporated the text into that. The font is cool and fits in well with the background. I think I would like Subzero better if he weren't so tilted into the image... not sure if I'm making any sense or not. His posture looks somewhat unnatural. But then again, he IS Subzero is he not?
  20. Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for this tutorial! These links have been invaluable. I don't know why but it seems I'm going backwards through your tutorials. LOL, figures. Guess I just click on the first thing I see then move on down eventhough they are clearly numbered... doh!I have been a downloading machine today! I downloaded Gimp and have spent allot of time pouring through the font, brush, and render sites you provided above. There are allot of talented artists out there. It's awesome when they share their talent with the rest of us. Anyway, keep up the good work on these tutorials! It's awesome when you share your talent too! I'm still waiting on Part 4 so get busy! :DNow, I just need to thumb through all of these renders to see which one I'm going to practice with first. If you're lucky I may just embarrass myself by uploading my very first sig attempt!
  21. Thanks for this great tutorial! I actually understood it and that's saying something! It is well written and very easy to understand. The images really helped me see the difference between the different types of sig brushes. Now I'll be able to put a name to some of the styles I've seen. I look forward to reading the next part. Woot, brushes here I come!
  22. Here's my half a cent: (it can't be worth 2 cents because I'm no expert) I had to stare at this quite a while before I figured out what it was. The render doesn't seem to pop out enough... he just kind of fades away. What I liked the most about this sig is the blue background - very cool!
  23. I'm sorry you're feeling bad. Hopefully, you'll feel better soon. It's good that you can find an outlet for your feelings though. You put your emotions into this piece of art and your pain is reflected. I like the coloring and how you use shadows. Very dark, but it looks awesome and makes an impact. I think it would look even better though without the "I am pain" text. The "Moonwitch" text is perfect. Notice from snlildude87: Please do not quote the first post in the thread.
  24. That's simple?! LOL I think you've read a couple more tutorials than me then. And no I'm not kidding, I think it looks great! I love the way it pops out at you - very dramatic.
  25. Thanks for this link!. I'm sure it will come in handy especially with that pesky Firefox getting so popular! You know what would be great, is an HTML editor that can check for browser compatibility and highlight areas that are incorrect. I use Dreamweaver. It will catch my major HTML boo-boos, but that's about it.
