The Problem With Being A Professional Web Developer
Soviet Rathe replied to 8ennett's topic in Websites and Web Designing
That was a very interesting post, I read every bit on it and I agree with you, even though I am intermediate, I have tried to get jobs on freelance.com and have failed. I don't see web development in my future like I hoped it would be. -
Adobe Cs5 Or Microsoft Expression Web
Soviet Rathe replied to Ahsaniqbalkmc's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well first of all I think that all CMS programs and scripts are rubbish, nothing is better then coding a website by hand, if you don't know how to. you sure aren't going to learn anything by using a CMS, I suggest either buying a book on web code or going to http://www.w3schools.com/, they have fantastic tutorials that can teach you a language from scratch. -
Are There Any Sites Blocked In Your Country?
Soviet Rathe replied to 16888's topic in Websites and Web Designing
As far as I know, there aren't any blocked sites here in the US, but that may soon change. the government is trying to pass a bill for the "internet blacklist" which will limit the US's access to the internet. thankfully though this bill is being fought and hopefully it will not pass. -
Can We Really Make Money On Internet ?
Soviet Rathe replied to 16888's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Making money online is easy if you know where to look! as previously mentioned, GPT's seem to be #1, but there are more ways of earning money online.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is the absolute best site i've ever joined, it has a massive community that looks for legit ways of earning money and they share it. they find freebies, money making opportunities, and just every way possible of making legit money. and they make wonderful bots aswell. ones that either got you loads of free stuff or ones that earn you money. I highly encourage you to take a look around the site. and you should also stick around because you never know when something REALLY good will pop up and theBOTnet will be the first to find it.I've been a member for a year now, I love the community, everything I do revolves around TBN. and if it weren't for TBN I wouldn't have anything that I have. the year that i've been on that site I've gotten 2 new computers (Very good ones I might add) and ALOT of other stuff.. I would say prolly $6,000, and I don't even put that much effort into any of it, if I wasn't so lazy I'd probably have double that lol. -
I think the main reason for the forums inactivity is because the admin (OpaQue) pretty much abandoned this forum. and the reason there's hardly any traffic coming in is because KS isn't being advertised at all. I think Shree should invest in some professional advertising or at the very least but adwords services (google advertising) because without any kind of advertising this forum will never be active.on top of all that - have you noticed how after the name change from Xisto... that's when the forum started dying?????I TOLD YOU GUYS THIS WOULD HAPPEN. and other said it too if I remember correctly.soooooooLack of effort. (Loads of bugs, forum is too default looking)Lack of advertising.Boring site (Yes, this site is boring, the theme looks default and overall the forum hasn't really been modified other then the myCENTs script.)So until OpaQue puts some effort into reviving this forum, it's going to be dead. and more and more people are going to loose their hosting because of it.Hell, I would revive this forum/maintain it and all I'd ask for would be free hosting lol... not like it'd ever happen but shree knows he can trust me.

All I can say is meh. I'm not rushing to download another one of Microsoft's failures. it might be a bit better. but I will bet anything it still doesn't render code as well as firefox and safari. Also, why can't MS make something original instead of stealing stuff from other browsers??

If you have Windows 7 Ultimate, you can download a free copy of windows XP that will run in Microsoft Virtual PC and it will need no registration.I never did this though. because Microsoft VPC lacks features and doesn't run that smoothly. what I do is install guest OS's in Virtual Box https://www.virtualbox.org/ I had an XP disc from my old computer so I just installed it from that. runs smoothly and is stable. I also have another install of Win7 on a VM as well along with a few editions of linux. (the only reason I use VM at all is to test files for viruses and test programs compatibility)

One thing you should know is.. we are born to die. the moment we take our first breath we start dieing.I have had some unsteady feelings about death. sometimes I wish I would just die to get out of things. other times I'm afraid of death. but one thing to keep in mind is that death is silent. most of the time (depending on the type of death) there is no pain, if it's a prolonged death then there might be pain. but what really is pain? I can't really explain it. but have you ever cut yourself. and there be a moment or two where there's no pain. and you have no idea of what just happened until you look at your wound? have you ever passed out, and it felt like you just fell asleep? and even though you fell down when you passed out, you don't hurt until later? that's what I'm talking about. moreso for an experience I had, I had a bike accident. and got a concussion. I could have died. but I have no memory of my injuries accruing. if I had died. it would have been painless. it was only after I got home that I started to suffer LOL.

^agreed, I hate google images now. I'm on dialup and it used to load like 600x faster the old way. I think the visual effects are nice, but it should make the images load one at a time rather then all at once.

it depends on the computer, windows 7 is the best OS I've ever used, but if you're going to use windows 7 you should have AT LEAST 2GB of RAM and atleast a 2.5ghz Pentium 4 or higher, else it will be buggy and laggy, if you don't meet this standard then XP is good. and stable.also if you do decide to go with windows 7, don't waste your money on the Ultimate edition, if you really want ultimate, get home premuim, then just search on youtube for an "anytime upgrade key" this will upgrade you to ultimate edition, this is what I did and I had no problems at all. and the only real difference between home and ultimate editions is the ability to use windows xp mode. which I don't use, I just run a copy of XP on a virtual machine 8)

one thing you need to know about SEO is, keywords are EVERYTHING, from the domain name to the content on the website, this will all effect your rankings. if your website is about games for example, you should I the word 'game' or 'games' in the domain, rather then some name that's completely unrelated. Another thing you should do is use meta tags, these are hidden bits of code that are only visible to Search Engines. they include keywords, and a short description of your website. <head><title>l33t gamerz</title><meta name="description" content="Welcome to l33t gamerz!! we are l33t and awesome."><meta name="keywords" content="l33t, game, gamers, consoles, pro, awesome, noob, nub, you, lost, the, game"></head> Description: this is the block of words that appears below your link in search engines. pretty self explanatory. Keywords: these are what really matter, when someone searches for the word "games" your site will be included on the list because the word "games" is in the keywords, however, if someone searches for "flowers" and that word is not in your site's keywords, your site will probably not show up anywhere. this is not indefinite though.

club bing http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ a site made by microsoft where you play flash games that as (To my knowledge) centered around searching on the Bing engine, this site is quite popular to botters, there's lots of bots that you can use, but people botted the site to death in the past and now they review your account before sending prizes, that's why it's hard to get anything now if you botted the account but since this account was given to me I'm not sure if it was botted or not.

Got the camera pic of the camera (taken with webcam) pics taken with the camera http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ it's an awesome camera, awesome resolution and quality!! in the pics above, the one of the brown dog, he was actually jumping around in that shot, that just shows you how good the stabilization is, I even tried taking shots while driving in a car and they weren't very blurry at all lol if my sentences are hard to under stand it's probably because it's 5AM and I haven't slept yet post comments

Acer laptop screen not coming up Acer Laptop
Soviet Rathe replied to iGuest's topic in Hardware Workshop
This is a known error in acer laptops, I forgot what the error was but my friend had the same problem, it seems there a defect in the monitors (or maybe graphics card?) I forget which one, but it's acer's fault it stopped working and they want to charge $500 for a repair (That's what they did to my friend) imo since it's their error they should fix it for free.. that's why I would never buy an acer laptop, not bashing acer, they have good desktop monitors. but their laptops have defects and they have poor CS -
You might want to check for your printer model on the link rvalkass posted, I had a similar problem, I had an old dell monitor that came with my old e310 computer, I got 2 new computers both running windows 7, I tried installing the printer and couldn't get it to work, I called up dell and they told me that the latest driver available for that printer was last updated for windows vista. if that's the case you might want to either use it on a different computer with another operating system or install a virtual machine, setting up a VM can be a little confusing, try googleing around a bit for some guides. but if you set up a virtual machine and install a compatible OS on it, you can use that printer

How To Pro-long Your Laptop Battery Life tips and tricks
Soviet Rathe replied to SofiaComp's topic in Hardware Workshop
ahhh, very good post OP, yes, cooler temperatures will increase your batteries lifespan and make it last longer before having to recharge.. you may want to buy a cooling pad for $20, I always use one. my laptop never gets hot (CPU temp never gets above 50c) but I like to use a cooling pad to keep my laptop & battery in good health. if you're running windows 7 there's a tab in battery management that shows you how well your battery is preforming. I'm running windows 7 with 4 gigs of ram, I never try to 'reduce resources' I run the areo theme and don't bother to try and close unneeded processes and I usually get about 4 hours out of my battery if my screen is dimmed.
