  1. HMmm......nice...simple....but a little to dull....yOu should also try to reduce the size of the banner image to reduce loading time. This will indirectly speed up your webpage and make visitors feel more happy......It is quite plain...needs more spicing up.,....well...but from what I gather...this is going to be sort of a blog...so if it is going to be a blog, than it is okay....since people match your blog , not the website matching people's taste.....-Shackman
  2. Wow....this is really cool....thanks...been wanting to do it .....
  3. Cool. I have heard the first and last one before. I think the cadences are quite well know worldwide.-Shackman
  4. Very useful. I was looking on a tutorial for this, but I searched along borders and I got a lot of nonsense. One website even suggested manually drawing them....I would not even have know it was 'stoking'!!!! A timely tutorial and very well written. Thanks a lot.-Shackman
  5. HM.....interesting guide. I find it quite informative. Just to note, these prices are in USD right?"http://www.domainsarefree.com/rg-erdr.php?_rpo=t :The cheapest fee of the first year : $3.99 for ".com", ".net", ".org", ".bix", ".info", ".us"."Are you sure they are so cheap? I think something is wrong. I have been using godaddy.com for my domain for quite some time already. I find it quite good. Anything price lower than godaddy's...I am not so confident....-Shackman
  6. It might be very possible... In Japan, bullet trains run on magnets, which repel each other, making them literally 'hovering' above the tracks... 3d tv screens.....also very possible. We have theaters and cinemas that offer 3D movies, more common ones where you wear on a special spectacles then the image becomes 3D. Actors....being obselete I don't know, but there are already computer-generated films, more for the young like Finding Nemo, Madagascar, Shriek and Toy Story. There are also ones that cater for the more older audience like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. All these are already possible....my guess is that if they will become more and more common....and like James said, current technology becoming 'obselute'. -Shackman
  7. I am also excited about it. But isn't this already old news? I heard about it a few years back already. But it will be cool. I heard that it has enchanced its searching features, making it easier to search your computers for files and folders.I think it is planned to be shipped out next year. But who knows? It might ake longer than that.Anyway, long horn is an interesting name. I wonder if that will be it's actual name.-Shackman
  8. Yea...default settings and passwords can all be found in the user manual so it will make it very easy for a hacker to compromise your system. The worst thing is that the manuals can usually be found online. Sometime at the manufacturer's website or sometimes from peer-to-peer networks....So, like the above poster said, your system is not secure if you use the default settings.Anyway, wireless lans, the signals can be easily tapped into and encryption at a high encryption setting, it can take quite a while to for decryption. There for , it will slow down the network speed.Wired networks are the best, provided your wires don't get compromised too...I still say CDs are the best method of transferring information...-Shackman
  9. Final Fantasy 8.....wow...that was a really long long time ago.Anyway, I think Final Fantasy 7 is the best of all the series. I still remember playing it when I was young. It was a really cool game and it got me addiccted...or some reason. I found it fascinating and the story line was just cool. In my opinion, final fantasy 7 is better than final fantasy 8.Shackman remembers the time when he was a young young boy with short hair who feel in love with final fanstay...It was really a long long long time ago....-Shackman
  10. Cool...What products or items are you planning to ship? How big are they and what target prices are you looking at? If you can tell me I might be able to recommend a few...-Shackman
  11. This is cool. I like this. However, I would also like to add another two methods that I use too.The First Method:This is the simplest and most easy method, even a threee year old can do it. However, it is the most difficult to get a perfect result unless the subject, or the thing you want to extract contrasts greatly with the background. Such as a photo portrait with a white background. It is using the Magic Wand Tool! Just click the magic wand button or hit 'W' on your keyboard for the hotkey and then click on the subject you want to extract. A dotted line sohuld appear. Copy it and open a new document and paste it. Ta da!!Remember to save it...Now for the next method. The Second Method:Using the Lasso tool. There are a variety of lasso tools...3 to be exact...to help you to extract your subject. The first one is the lasso tool. You must manually go around the object. It can be quite diffcult but the results are always the best among the three tools.Next is the Magnetic lasso tool. The polygonal lasso tool is covered in the above totorial so I will not touch on it.The magnetic lasso is also quite simple. You just need to run your mouse cursor around the subject and ta da! But the results are often not so perfect. However, better than the magic wand tool though.Okay...hope this tutorial helps you. It was something I typed in the spur of the moment....so don't blame this tutorial for being so lousy...-Shackman
  12. Wow...this stuff is really cool. I like the effect with the text part. I think it has better potential using it with text than on normal photographs or pictures.Photoshop is sure powerful....Cool tutorial. Way to go man!-Shackman
  13. Wow....this is cool....thanks for this tutorial. I think it might be useful for a logo or a forum signature!-Shackman
  14. Wow....thanks a lot dude. Quite a nice and interesting tutorial. I am just wondering.....is anyone still interested in Matrix these days? It has been quite some time. Don't get me wrong, i'm not insulting this tutorial.I find this totorial quite cool. I'm off to try this out!-Shackman
  15. Wow...this is definetely interesting. Sound honest...I'm going to try this out...Macromedia Fireworks can also do the job though...I don't know why people prefer to use Photoshop.Maybe it's a matter of preference?-Shackman
  16. If you are looking for a free firewall, you should use Zone Alarm Free Version. It is quite reputable and reliable. Although it maybe not be as good and cannot rival paid version like McAfee Firewall and Zone Alarm Professional, it surely does better than having no protection for your system at all. Really, we should all play our part to keep our computers safe...so viruses/(malicous prgrams/hackers) don't get in...and get out...I use Zone Alarm and I find it really great. It hasn't failed me so far. I really urge all those people here, reading this post to get yourself a firewall, at least for some basic protection, which as always said, is better than none.-Shackman
  17. Another one is Free AVG Anti-Virus. http://www.avg.com/de-de/homepage -Shackman
  18. Quite interesting. Cool challenge. But I think this would not work. Why I say so? This is because if this were possible, Google would go burst. I'm sure Google hires experts to help prevent this from happening. Furthermore, the storage space is most likely share resource, which means the space might not be there.Despite saying this, I would stick to this thread and see how it goes. I might be proven wrong.-Shackman
  19. Happy Dragon Boat Festival! Just to tell you guys a little more. Zhong Zi is also called rice dumplings in English. No does it sound familiar? It is a pyramid shaped and is made of rice. The rice are wrapped in leaves. Inside the rice dumplings, there are usually fillings. Traditionally, meat or vegetables were put inside. But now, different sorts of things are put inside, such as sugar paste. Sometime, the rice dumpling itself is coloured! More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zongzi -Shackman
  20. I'm using AVG free anti-virus. It's free...and proven reliable to date. Hasn't failed me yet. It does not take much memory...or start-up time...it's almost as if it's non-exsistent. The only problem(or sohuld I say...downside?) is that it is very obvious and prominent when it is updating. I'm always in a nice round of Navy Field when the ABG updater pops up and says...updating.....pifffff....... Anyway, here's the link: http://www.avg.com/de-de/free-antivirus-download Enjoy! -Shackman
  21. Wooah...interesting poll...What do you mean 'earn'? As in real life too or just.......cyber IT life?If you're talking about cyber IT life....I don't earn much. My site dosn't recieve a monster amount of traffic....so...that pay-outs are measly....but hey....better than nothing right?Hmm...real life is a different story...One word of advice, you should'nt depend on website revenue...be it from ads or anything, to keep you through life. Unless you own an e-commerce site, or your site receives an insane amount of traffic....I suggest you get a real life job. If you spend an hour a day clicking links on e-mails....earning barely 5 cents.....you should get a part-time job instead....like go flip pizzas or give out leaflets/flyers.....etc...you'll probably earn maybe...3 or 4 dollars an hour...for a starter's pay.Better than go clicking those pesky e-mails....-Shackman
  22. Interesting. Been wanting to do that for a very long time. I just didn't know that Google had POP access....w00t...-Shackman
  23. Interesting tutorial. Quite easy to follow. I tried it out...and got quite interesting results... thanks.-Shackman
