I Need Some Proof Reading For My Code Please! [resolved]
truefusion replied to KansukeKojima's topic in Programming
Topic is resolved. Please PM any moderator to continue this discussion. Until then, this topic is closed. -
Description Concept sparked by the following topic: Email Address Protection From Spam Bots. The idea is to have an image, when clicked on, turn into selectable text. The e-mail is encoded, and that encoding is sent to the server through AJAX to be decoded via PHP. After it is decoded, it gets sent back to be inserted into a text field which is automatically selected upon clicking the image. I have decided to keep things limited to one page for now, where the concept can be easily seen. Code if ($get != ""){ echo "mailto linenums:0'><?php$get = $_GET['code'];if ($get != ""){echo "mailto: ".base64_decode($get);} else {?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN""http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd;<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml/; xml:lang="en" lang="en"><head><title>untitled</title><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" /><script>function ajaxFunction(id, code){var xmlHttp;try {// Firefox, Opera, Safari, KonquerorxmlHttp = new XMLHttpRequest();} catch (e){// Internet Explorertry {xmlHttp = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP");} catch (e){try {xmlHttp = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");} catch (e){alert("Your browser does not support AJAX!");return false;}}}xmlHttp.onreadystatechange = function(){if(xmlHttp.readyState == 4){document.location.href = xmlHttp.responseText;}}xmlHttp.open("GET", "antispam_email.php?code="+code, true);xmlHttp.send(null);}</script></head><body><noscript>In order to select the e-mail you require JavaScript enabled.</noscript><span id="email_link"><a href="java script: ajaxFunction('email_link', '<?php echo base64_encode("email@domain.com"); ?>');">Click Here To E-mail Me</a></span></body></html><?php}?> Preview Soon to Come Dynamic image generation. (Image not needed anymore.) JavaScript-only version. ChangesGot rid of the image, and turned it into a link. Made it possible to load up the e-mail program without leaving the page.

One Word Equals 10 Grains Of Rice freerice.com
truefusion replied to truefusion's topic in General Discussion
I have been reading them, but let's examine everything. As the link to the blog post shows, the owner of the site only makes money on commision; that is, when someone clicks on the ads and then buys something (as i thought it was). The owner of the site, like the blog says, has also been from the site TheHungerSite. Let's consider a few things here: Since revenue is based on commission, viewing the ads alone doesn't bring in revenue. There are, also, apparently more people gaining rice than they are buying things. If there is any money left over, it can go to TheHungerSite and its sister sites. Yes, the money could also go to himself, like for payment for the hosting of the site, the maintainers of the site, his personal life, etc, but we'll just have to trust his word on this from what he mentions in the FAQs. As for the calculations, that would be true if they weren't just guessing. For the time being, the rice has increased, and if you want to prove his actions, then perhaps you should mail the people they're donating to and see if anything has been received from them on their part. -
It's a SuperKaramba theme, yes. You need an operating system that supports KDE, unless you can find an alternative for Windows that provides the same information that my widget does. But it seems i misunderstood what you wanted, so nevermind. The only other solution i can think of is http://www.noip.com/

search:whatismyip—this is what i do. Local scripts don't show my IP address. However, when i'm not on my network, i just check out my desktop widget.

Email Address Protection From Spam Bots
truefusion replied to delivi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
That was similar to what i had in mind. Since PHP can decode base64 encoding, i could use the GET method to help with the dynamic generation of the image. I could use a JavaScript function that decodes base64, as well, which would get the value attached to the image link, and have JavaScript convert the image into selectable text or a clickable link. -

PHP processes its code from top to bottom. You have to place (declare) the cont variable before the "Content Include" section. Try that out. -
Best Gaming Rig For The Money... Does this build succeed?
truefusion replied to rayzoredge's topic in Hardware Workshop
You can reduce the price by about $150 if you go with this Centurion 5 case. You can reduce the price again by about $140 by going with this Athlon 64 X2 5600+ and get more gigahertz. With the savings from these items, you can get yourself a better motherboard with faster RAM: Gigabyte 790FX and DDR2 1066 (it may not be 4GBs, but it's faster). A Dual-core can perform better than a Quad-core, all it needs is more speed, etc, since all these cores do is take up a piece of the pre-programmed speed. I'm quite sure the hardware i suggested will get you what you want with a bang for the buck. Although i don't know how to calculate how much it is required for the PSU, my friend has similar specs to what i suggested, and he uses 500W. But if you search around, you could probably find a recommended amount. -
Email Address Protection From Spam Bots
truefusion replied to delivi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Interesting code. But i must ask a question similar to BuffaloHELPs: How do we know there aren't spam bots that have an advanced form of digging out e-mails in a page? I mean, what if a spam bot was programmed to search out e-mails in the following syntax: username [at] domain [dot] com? I don't know about that. Actually, i'ma see this as a challenge and try to create a script that makes use of an e-mail image that is clickable. I'll make a new topic on it if i can get it to work by any means possible. -
The Gimp And Commercial Printing? how to get graphics printed?
truefusion replied to muji's topic in Software
I think you need to set your document's colors to CMYK instead of RGB if it's on something other than CMYK. CMYK, i hear, is for printers. It shouldn't matter which image manipulation program you have, so long as you use the right color settings. The GIMP, i think, does not come with CMYK support by default. You may be able to find out a way on how to obtain CMYK support for the GIMP by Googling around. You may also want to try out Scribus, it has CMYK support—mostly because it needs to have it. The latest stable is 2.4.*. It's a recommended download—has a different menu layout and some nice additional features that were not in 2.2. -
If their relationship is doomed to fail, then let it fail on its own terms. I'm just saying, don't be the reason why it fails. If it ever does fail on its own terms, don't be quick to dive into a relationship with the girl as to make things appear as if you were the reason for the breaking up (i say this not for your own benefit). If it were her boyfriend's fault, then let his mistakes be known for personal improvement. It's never good to be on the side where something you placed close to you gets taken away. And perhaps you worded things wrong in this topic. If you didn't mean anything bad by it, then perhaps you could have said things a little different that didn't imply bad intentions. I can see the reason why you gave the smileys, but on social terms, it doesn't make you look good.

Although "scum" may not be the right word for it, there are two things that are clear: (1) You are taking advantage of opportunities that are being opened to you. (2) Although you say you're not the kind of person that would take someone away from someone else, you imply that you wouldn't mind if they broke up. For them breaking up gives you yet another opportunity—the opportunity to get together with this girl. It is implied that you have a hope that wishes that they'd separate. If they separate and you get the girl you like, it can be seen as one who took away someone from someone else. By taking advantage of these opportunties, you are, in a way, manipulating the heart of the girl. Through these fun times that you have with her, you are causing her to forget about her "other" life and to be more attentive to a "what-could-be" life.

Rather than taking into account all 19 DIV elements, let's modify the JavaScript function i posted a bit: function disableButtons(id){var x = document.getElementById(id);var y = x.getElementsByTagName('button');for (var i = 0; i < y.length; i++){ y[i].disabled = true;}}This way you can have something like onclick="disableButtons('buttons');" without having to obtain an array full of the 19 DIV elements while still be-ing able to disable button elements for a specific section.

Although the GIMP is far from Photoshop, you can do most of the things you can do in Photoshop in the GIMP. Sure it may require more manual work, but this adds to the experience. Plus, a lot of Photoshop users are into brush work, of which the GIMP can provide a lot of experience in, or at least to me it has. Have you tried Mandriva (perferrably 2007; 2008 isn't all that great) or other Mandriva-based distros? Through experience, Mandriva has been the fastest performing distro i've used. It may not have a good of a repository as Ubuntu, but the performance was nice. Of course, you may not notice a difference in performance in computers faster than the one i'm using, or i should say, on computers with more RAM than the one i'm using. 'Cause i've seen Kubuntu perform quite fast on my friend's laptop. My friend allowed me to switch the operating system to Linux when Windows "somehow" failed him and after re-installing Windows, Windows wouldn't let me get passed the Windows verification (you know, that thing that says different hardware has been detected). Although their computer experience has changed, there has been no complaint from them, and their daily computer life hasn't changed. Ever since i've heard about AutoCAD and have seen pictures of it, i tried searching for free alternatives. Note, i heard about AutoCAD years ago. On my personal search for an open-source AutoCAD program, i found a few alternatives. However, i didn't bookmark the sites, nor did i download the programs. I guess Blender (the open-source 3D modeling program) caught my eye and made me lose interest in these AutoCAD alternatives. But as a quicky search, you may want to check out QCad

Although i do like the fact that this version of KDE has increased performance, i'm not so sure i can trust the release date for this version. I'm a KDE user and was a bit disapointed with the other annouced release dates. Although i can understand that these things take time to develop, giving a release date but not meeting it is a bit disapointing to those who are addicted to KDE, like myself . I can understand simply saying, "It'll be out soon," and giving out some announcements on its current production, without a release date.In the mean time, however, i'll be waiting for a Kubuntu release that has KDE 4 as its default desktop environment, which will probably be the next LTS—that'd be really nice if it is.

2 Of My Sigs/banners My first 2 banners I have made.
truefusion replied to coolcat50's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
As with all sigs and banners of this sort, a good render improves the sig a lot. Consider downloading some pre-cutout renders from Saint_Michael's render packs. The topic where you can find links to these packs is pinned in the Resources forum. Brushes is another thing that really help out sigs. The latest version of the GIMP supports Photoshop 6 brushes. Also, there are some really nice GIMP brushes available in DeviantArt. The sig is actually quite good for the GIMP. I use the GIMP myself, so i know that it requires more manual work. The banner isn't that bad, but the Samus render seems to match the background more than Link. Nice watermark on it, by the way. Inspiration helps get new ideas for sigs. The more you do new things, the more you'll get used to the program, which would reduce the time it takes to make a sig or banner. For smoke effect, it's good to mess around with the brush tool, the blur tool and the smudge tool. -
I can understand the reason on why you would just want to update one element, but i'm trying to figure out why it places everything on its own line. I can only come up with a few reasons: There's a BR or P element within the new output. There's too much text in the element. It's a browser specific problem. Does it meet any of these?

I never install those installation CDs your ISP gives you for your comp, the programs it installs tends to ruin my comp's performance. I always just configure the router or modem with the needed settings—so far, this has always worked. And since i'm a Linux convert, the installation CD is completely useless, as it only supports Windows. Luckily, Linux has programs that automatically detect your modem's settings.

If There Is No God Or Other Divine Being...
truefusion replied to Mermaid711's topic in General Discussion
Because without, one makes no sense; just like your questions. Why can't God be created just because He's Creator? I've already mentioned the reason in my post. You can't attribute "creation" to "Creator"—it's illogical. It is just as illogical to attribute "Creator" to "creation," for creation does not create, they manipulate. The Big Bang does not obey the laws of Thermodynamics—and the only way for it to obey it is to have a Creator that has caused it to happen. The Big Bang cannot just be, for you'd have to provide a reason for why it is. By claiming that it is "accidental"—not to say that it was actually accidental—you give way to the case of God. For in order for so-called "accidents" to happen, there must have been something before it for it to have caused this so-called "accident" into existence. And to answer your final question, you can see why the need for a Creator to make sense of everything is so necessary. It truly amazes me on how hundreds of scientists deny God—when they're supposed to examine everything through the laws of Science. As it is said, there is no excuse for disbelieving, for God has made everything known through His creation. -
If it came from Xisto - Web Hosting, then i too would have probably received the e-mail. However, did you check the sender's e-mail? If it doesn't lead to Xisto - Web Hosting.com or xisto.com, then report it in the support ticket that Saint_Michael provided a link to. If it is from the aforementioned sites, then, indeed, wait for Admin feedback.

Since i'd run out of quotes, i shall just address things like so, and to show what post i'm addressing. In the same sense, i too was posting my opinion. And i was taking a stand. I have implied my position to the extend that it no longer takes the form of impliciaton. And you have yet to address the majority of my posts. Let me tell you what you have been doing mostly throughout your posts—it is only fair, since you have been doing it to me: For a good portion of your posts, you boast and praise yourself (i would say more than 50%), the remaining parts you speak slander towards the opposing force (me) and you change around my intentions and reasons for what i have stated. Since you go off on your own to promote yourself, you skip a lot of things which should be addressed, and of which i asked for comment on. You say to consider others, but what about what i asked for a comment on? In your slander, you basically state that i am an unjust person who is willing to pervert justice for selfish and uncaring reasons and of who does not consider that these people may be innocent. I tell you i am an open-minded person—yes, if i am forced to regain my integrity, i will—and i am willing to take the side of others who believe opposite of me so long as i see that there is no way to improve what i have been standing for. However, i have given an idea on how to improve the system and increase fairness and justice at the same time—of which i asked for your opinion on the matter. By providing justice, people help other people. You talk about destroying the potential one has to cause a great change—this is where you confuse me to a great extent, and i would agree with you whole-heartedly that i may never understand you on this—but you also support pro choice. While i agree that it is the mother's body, i do not agree that the child's body is also the mothers. You state that terminating such potential is unthinkable and out-right wrong. I am pro life in this instance, for the child is not guilty of anything and cannot be guilty of anything. This, of course, implies my stand on capital punishment. However, i find it hard to believe that you did not see what i posted below the horizontal rule, even though you avoid stating your opinion on the matter—on whether it has increased in fairness or just wouldn't work at all. Perhaps the reason for avoiding it is because it may make me appear otherwise of how you have been making me appear. As for those who should be in jail guiding them on the right path: there is such a thing. In fact, people even hand out Bibles in jail. The face of a believer must shine like the sun when they receive the Bible in jail and they know that they are innocent, for such is bound to increase hope. If a loved one of mine were beaten or killed and i saw the person who did it and later see them in the street, i would call the police and if i were confident of my strength, i'd go and immobilize the person till the police arrive. I would not seek the person's death, for it was not decided upon in a just matter. Although i may be inclined to place him at the edge of death, i will not choose to. And although the person may file battery against me, i would be content with the fact that i was able to take them to court and claim my case against that person—even if i were to lose the case. Their face has been made known and i may never forget it. If i were not confident of my strength, i would stalk the person (i'm not one that is confident of my physical strength, anyways, so this is most likely to be the way i would go about it), making sure they are not out of my sight and that they don't notice me. I would grab any information i possibly can that would allow the police to track this person down with ease. If i have to follow them everywhere they go, then so be it. I would want justice served, and i being one who likes having things acted upon would make sure some form of justice gets served. I would not allow my loved one's death to go in vain. I too hope to be never faced with such an occasion. The last thing i want is to wonder around life knowing that someone got their way. You help people—then help my idea; i seek improvement on such an idea. By improving my idea, you help make a change—a change that helps others. Indeed, if you can't change something, then improve it in a way that makes it lean more towards your beliefs, while making it subtle or oblivious to those who will not change something to meet your beliefs 100%. Potential, without it, you have no case. You say tap into other people's good side. What if there is found no good side? Behold, you gave an idea to improve my idea (and there is no implication that that is what you were aiming for, too!): Let's consider a modification to my idea, where there is actual time taken to find this "good side" in people. Whether or not the person is deceiving the others shall not be taken into consideration; however, they would still be placed on a lie detector after being questioned the first time around. Once the 10 years end, time will be taken to see if there is this potential in others. If the good side is not present, however, or if there is no implication of this "good side," then we shall move onto bringing the case back into question. If found innocent, they shall be released. If not, back they go and will wait 7 years, etc, etc... But if this potential is found, any further action pertaining to the path to death will be postponed. If the person has shown (or proven) that they will be willing to change, then that will be put to the test. The person will be set free, however, not without some monitoring—yes, their life must be open to observation, especially since we are testing whether or not they have a potential. An innocent person would or should be more than happy to allow such a thing; not to say that a truly guilty person won't do the same. However, if they show any intent of ill will, they will be placed back in jail, and the whole process will be started and resetted to a 10 year wait, etc... Only, without any more potential-tapping. Consider this if you will. Even more fairness and justice. Thanks for the indirect improvement, by the way. Like with every law, it must be established by an outside force. And, if i must and though you may claim that i am insecure in my beliefs, of which i stand firm in them—of which implies security, for if merely standing up for one's beliefs means insecurity, then you are as guilty as the claim you attribute to me—if the force that has established this law allows justice, then these "natural laws" no longer apply for perservation of life. Justice is therefore the one that perserves life. Let me tell you a little about myself: I am an search:INTJ (a good place to start is here, also: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/); this should even imply what i am born with. In fact, a lot of things you mentioned about this part about me is quite on the dot, as you will see by researching on INTJs; by "this part", i mean paragraph 11 in your post. Also, you did not answer my question on whether or not you have avatars or signatures enabled for others. You are not split in your beliefs, for you know what you believe and have explicitly stated which side you take in the overall matter. Your dark side has nothing to do with your beliefs. Faith and action are two different things. Faith is capable of powering action. However, that is not always the case. For i've seen many people who say they believe in one thing and even try to prove that they do, but unknowingly contradict their beliefs with their actions. Although this implies that their beliefs are what their actions state, i do understand, however, that it is fully possible to believe one thing but act against it. The only reason i will never be capable of "poking holes" into your belief system is because you may never be willing to admit that i poked holes into your belief system. However, you also state that i have poked holes, which makes things a bit confusing. In fact, you have been ending your posts stating that i have been doing such a thing throughout this topic while adding that i did not make clear my stand on this matter. I would like to ask you your reasoning behind "pro choice." You keep saying perservation of life is of utmost importance and that your pro choice beliefs do not contradict your perservation-of-life beliefs, and i have given my counter argument for your reasons for pro choice; i would like to see if you have more. And here's the thing about making mistakes: real murderers do not see their actions as mistakes. Indeed, some find it entertaining. Again, at the end of your last paragraph, you state something without fully knowing me. You do not truly know my experiences in life, but you state or imply that you in fact do know them. You've said in your post that i was quick to judge. However, it may seem we are both guilty of that matter, if we are at all guilty of such a thing, for quick to judge does not ask for opinions. I await your response—if any.
