  1. that IS why i need a CSS coder...I don't know nothing about design and how to make CSS code compatible with multiple browsers :rolleyes:I know it looks weird in firefox...i know...
  2. I would recommend AMD for it's better cycling and is cheaper....As for the audiocard I can only recommend Soundblaster because I don't know anything better...as for a cheap videocard you might get a mobo with an intergrated via/intel/s3 videocard. The higher the memory, the less lockups your PC will have meaning the faster and cleaner sound is being processed (Oh god, the rendertime in fruityloops!) As for on your side a scratcher from pioneers, a set of custom-made speakers and a synthesizer of casio will do if you're on a tight budget.
  3. living proof over here dude! (God I hate programming while I love it...)
  4. Hrmmmm....I didn't have any problems with the font....However I am still looking for a CSS/webdesign guy who wishes to redesign my project...
  5. But I can't bake...I would set the server room on fire
  6. Just some shameless self-promotion about my on-going project called BotExec. This project was meant to be challenging my PHP coding skills and see if I could code with deadlines... However as I progress with the coding the more game features come available and might even inspire myself to do another web-based mmorpg with more depth and complexity to it than this addicting RPG-like game . The goal of this game is to make your bot and compete it to other bots and become the master of the arena. Of course there will be NPC bots, guilds, shops, stealing, etc, etc. The further I code, the more depth there is added which in turn means more fun for the players . And now it's time for the link. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ PS: I really need a CSS coder on this one
  7. you DO know that selling/buying items from WOW is against Blizzard's tos, right? You could get sued or they could take your website offline :SRead the other tos's too before you get into real serious trouble :lol:But the website looks nice however
  8. cookies are evil! use sessions and as for the code...you got it reversed.... use the if {} else {} magic dude! the if statement ought to be the "correct user/pass" routine and else should be if the user/pass is wrong... but that's just my 50 dollars. If you're really desperate you can use my code as a guide if (mysql_num_rows($result) == 1) { // the user id and password match, // set the session $_SESSION['user_is_logged_in'] = true; // after login we move to the main page echo '<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;url=/members/index.php">'; echo "<div align=\"center\">Welcome back $userId, you are being directed to the members page.</div>"; exit; } else { $errorMessage = 'Sorry, wrong user id / password'; }
  9. Schools with slow computers and low budget....please use *nix and hire a REAL IT expert with EXPERIENCE. (Not one of those certified it experts who know nothing). Windows XP Pro is total bloat, Microsoft Office is total bloat.....what more could there be bloat with the word microsoft on it? :rolleyes:Back to topic...there are worse schools that are beyond help...like my school. Last year we got top-of-the-chart computers...meaning Windows XP Pro on a 100MHz P1 computer with 28MB SDRAM.... seriously.....I wonder how they managed to get Windows XP Pro on it :lol:And then our "IT Expert" woah....I knew everything better than him, heck, I even knew more than him and I'm not even half his age while I already knew it when I was 7 years old. They should pay ME 20 USD an hour if they want to teach kids something, not some IT Expert that's certified and has no hands-on experience with whatsoever has to do with computers... the guy didn't even knew what unix stood for or what a kernel is....comeon man!Btw, I'm 15 :(On another note...we had the BIT test (to choose out professions we will be able to get if we follow a specific course...) and the teacher comes to me and says I need to learn spanish, english, papiamentu and economics to become an IT expert....wtf?
  10. having cookies in your system means that someone can hijack them (steal them). If I understand the problem correctly you mean that you can basicly login under a different UID by changing your own cookiestring. To sad that this is only a small flaw as there is an exploit for most popular boards to modify the header being sent so your UID is changed to 1 (The admin in this case) or any other number. This exploit is doable with mozilla firefox and the right extensions installed.
  11. Could we have a correction here? Windows XP desktop IS a browser... it has explorer.exe intergrated into the core. As for the double clicking part, there is folder options if you havn't seen it yet which allows you to click only once. But I would for one never use explorer.exe as my GUI, so I installed BBlean...and I love it!
  12. I only had 2 virii in my entire life since I started working with computers... the first one was some random virus which came with a floppy (Don't borrow floppy games from eachother!). The second one occured in 2000, the bubble virus. Which happened when I was cleaning out my harddisk and found my "virus folder". Please note I was quite,erm...hungry for information
  13. Microsoft recently aquired Sybari Software (Anti-virus maker for *nix) and cut off all support for linux. Full article and comments/links is to be found on Slashdot
  14. Great to see some people still playing old games....recently I started playing Final Fantasy 8 and I'm totally hooked now o.oRemove my top10 to put em full with FF8 o.o
  15. Diablo 2 rocks for bnet, and also because that's the only game I actually have that's bnet compatible :/...Oh well, it keeps rocking ;d
  16. Isn't this a little bit late....since E3 was already a few months ago..... and besides, it fugly! Looks like they hired the same people as apple did for their iPods (Which are ugly and overrated too). I'll stick to the PS3 as it has the better games, graphics and specs!
  17. And this is supposed to suprise me? There are still stupid enough people who click these kind of links, while in the eye of a "it expert" it's a bunch of bull and gets deleted immediatly. Btw, it has been on /. a long time ago....Thanks to these people clicking links, virus writers are getting lazier and less innovational with current existing exploits for outlook, etc, etc!
  18. Access your router by going to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and fill out the user:pass fields that you set... 1) Get the port numbers neccesary to be opened for the game (Can be found on the blizzard faqs/forums) 2) Forward dem ports on the forwarding setup page of your router (Of course your LAN IP[your PC on the lan] has to be filled in too). 3) Setup server and play. If this didn't work, play with the forwarding or either put your PC on DMZ mode through the router (Careful with this option, only use it as a last resort and turn it off after it served its use!)
  19. Why CRT's are still in business: They have a better refresh rating, are cheaper, and are being used in facilities where timing is the most important thing. (Hospitals, etc, etc). No idea why they stopped making them :S
  20. Ya forgot a link to sourceforge.... opensource for everyone! (Alternative shells are always better than explorer.exe if they use less memory than the default win2k look)
  21. I just been playing dem good ol' games again like Tyrian, Raptor and of course UFO Enemy Unknown....what are your favourite old games? (Hardcore gamers only, so don't come with doom3 and unreal tournament 2004 )Small favourite list:1. Raptor2. Tyrian3. UFO Enemy Unknown4. Pizza tycoon5. Blood Net6. Anvil of Dawn7. Strife8. Quake9. Doom10. Veil Of Darkness
  22. For enabling hyperthreading one goes in the BIOS....but of course your motherboard has to be able to handle HT!!!! (/me kicks shopkeeper of Pc-Clinic... darn non-computer people!). So I got a inferior CPU with HT support....and of course a inferior motherboard of 1994 without HT support...and they told me them both had HT support! (Mind you, I bought it 4 months ago). Info could say you have a HT support processor, but if you can't find where to activate it you might have a non-HT motherboard....good luck!
  23. oooh, the game still is in progress of the making? I remember installing it on my P4 1.7GHz machine with a S3 videocard and being unable to play because my videocard didn't support openGL.....and I downloaded the game with a modem, such a dissapointment . Oh well, got a new PC a few weeks later and began playing it and was totally addicted to the game. I even contributed once or twice to the project but my entries got denied :/. Gotta love opensource mmorpg's. Game is based on the crystalspace engine btw, which is opensource too ( http://sourceforge.net/ )
  24. Great! Now we can use the immersive power of the PSP to run the old gameboy games! Awesome! Of course this is good for programmers on a airplane who have nothing to do.......
  25. I think he meant OpenOffice.org? which is amazingly at http://www.openoffice.org/ ..... A spelling check in the future would be nice too (If he indeed meant crossoffice, he could either meant the evaluation version or a *warez* version)Warez is not encouraged!
