lol... Well then lets make this our own personal psychology discussion thread. haha.I am in agreement with a blend of both explanations that you gave. Humans have a tendency to offer a few theories and say "one or the other" but a blend of all of them is usually the most correct one. For example... on #1 you say they simply observe. on #2 you say they hook them up and measure brain activity. Perhaps they do both? They may observe them WHILE they are hooked up to see what activities say what in their brain. Or they may watch them for a while, form a few ideas, and then check it out with the machines to either confirm their ideas or not. Or maybe they observe brain activity first to get an idea of what capabilities they have in the first place and get in the right frame of mind, then watch their play time to analyze what they discovered and draw new ideas and theories from there... did that make any sense? I basically combined your two theories together to make several new ones.You most likely wont learn anything from me, since I am only a 15 year old sophomore in highschool who hasnt even taken the class yet. I am very smart for my age though so dont under estimate me! I just read books and do research. I do studies from this psychology textbook i found in the hallway one day. I read it like a novel. I just have a passion for the subject, no formal training. So it really would be ironic if you learned a thing or two on psychology from my humble research.I am interested in neurology. I like reading about cases of brain damaged patients that have interesting combinations of handicaps. You should look into it. It is very interesting. Have you read the book "the shattered mind" by howard gardner? its a little outdated but it is very thought provoking.I also like to study theories of body language... I am actually interested in ANYTHING that has to do with the human mind. This includes how it is constructed, how it operates (i am aware we dont have the answers but i am big on reading theories) human intelligence, evolution, behaviors, personality development... etc. Just about anything you can think of about the human mind, I am very interested.A little off subject, I also think that dolphins are interesting. lol

thanks for the reply... I know about the last two now. But I disagree with the statement that just because most people here are programmers and web designers that they wouldn't be interested in role-play. That is a bit stereotypical. But this is just my opinion and I value yours as well. I am a web designer (not necessarily a programmer i only know html) but I have a broad range of interests and so do others. But that is all I will allow myself to say on that. Thanks for your input on that and I appreciate your evaluation.

Well actually... I happen to have a very curious personality. I have read many books from the library all my life. I happened to have those memorized. I didnt go look them up on the internet or something. Those are just facts that I remember that were stored in my brain. Speaking of chocolate I heard there are an averge of 6 insect legs in every chocolate bar. I dont know if thats true or not but... hey. XD

in my experience it is better to go up to him and tell him directly to his face you like him and see what he says. Guys dont like it when girls play games with them any more than you like it when guys play games with you. He would probably admire your bravery. Dont get your friends to talk to him for you and dont ask other people about him instead of you asking. It makes you look like a spineless coward. If you want to know something, ask him. If you want to know more about him, have a conversation with him. Ask him what his hobbies are, his favorite color, favorite movie, what he likes to do on the weekends, what he likes to read (if anything) does he play any instruments? is he an artist? Make a commitment to actually get to know him as a person. Get to know him on the inside and try to find things in common and talk about those things. Do not make it all about you. Guys and girls both like to feel special. So give him a compliment every day. But do not over do it. You dont want him to think you are really desperate or easy. Keep your dignity.

I am DEFINITELY a psychology enthusiast. Anything you have to tell me about psychology, I will listen to you and give you my complete and full attention. I knew it wasnt set in stone as far as the ages go, but I find it interesting that some completely skip entire stages or dont ever leave them at all. I also find it interesting that this data was able to be obtained. How did they come unto these conclusions? I would love to read the notes of this study.

I see his name everywhere as well, and I agree with you, this is quite ridiculous! There is a fine line between being active and participating, and completely being obnoxious and breaking rules. He has way crossed this line. If you reply to everything thats fine, but not if you have nothing useful to say. I pick my posts carefully. I prefer quality over quantity in ANY area of my life, including forum activity. I think he should get a firm warning before being banned, but if the bahavior continues, I think he should definitely be banned, along with his other account. You just dont cuss at people on forums its wrong, especiall if they are the admins. tsk tsk tsk... Thank you VERY much for pointing all of this out.

Did you know polar bears are left handed? and girl polar bears prefer old snow to new snow. And polar bear fur isnt white. It is just reflecting light and has no color. Also, polar bears overheat more than they get cold. Isnt that ironic? Just thought I would share that. hehe

A while back i learned and memorized the speed of light. 300,000,000 m/s. I also learned that it is MATHEMATICALLY proven that if you can travel faster than this, time sort of stops. So in theory I guess you could say time travel is possible as long as you can travel this quickly. Except it would be different from what science fiction tells us it is. It would just be getting from point a to point b (like in traffic) at the same time you left, not like changing events or something.I also learned the universe supposedly expands a few billion miles or something every hourDrugs and prostitution is legal in amsterdam... wtf?There are lizards that live in the desert that quirt blood up to 5ft out of their eyes as a defense mechanismIt actually IS possible to lick your elbow. You just have to be rediculously flexible. Try doing it every day and eventually you will be able to stretch far enough to do it. Its kinda like putting your legs behind your neck... I know this because i saw my friend lick his elbow.You know that song called lithium by evanescence? Well she got that song off mozart! She just added words to it and used guitars instead of the classical instruments.There are monkeys that can type on keyboards and talk to their trainers. They think like us. One of them got mad at the trainer and told him to go away because they were mad. They also "invented" a form of swearing among themselves. quite interesting.A mad scientist cut the head off a dog and attached it to stuff. The head lived fully functioning (drooling at the smeel of food, breathing, etc) for 2 daysThere are computers made to write poetry but it isnt very goodThere are brain damaged people that cant read or understand what you are saying but they can write fluently. They just cant read it back when they finish. And they wouldnt be able to tell you what they wrote but it could be the most brilliant paper ever. They just wouldnt know.

oh okay Thank you for clarifying this with me. But I do still think that there should be a role-playing section. And that other guy had a great idea for having a place to post your blog sites for others to read. If there was a role-playing section i would be posting SO much every day. It would be even cooler if there were different categories for the roleplay section like fantasy sci fi, etc.

1) Roleplaying-Roleplaying is something that interests a lot of forum users, including me. I would love for there to be a roleplaying section. I like to make characters and make stories with others and stuff on forums. This is traditionally almost always a part of any big forums and I am surprised that it is missing.2)Psychology-I know there is a mental and emotional health category, but I feel there should be a category solely for those seeking advice on the subject of psychology. While im on that note...3)Advice and help. An "ask questions" spot.- This could have several sections. It would have topics that are already there but more advice geared. Just for people seeking answers or wanting to help the afore mentioned. A few would be psychology, weight, dating, etc... But for advice only not telling what happened yesterday or posting informational topics for others to read. questions and answers. that would be the difference.4)Website Bragging-Im not sure if this is already here, but it would be cool to have a forum to brag about your website. There would be ules of course, like only one topic per person, no spamming, be mature, and so on. Just an ideaI think adding these categories would make an awesome forum become ever greater than before. I am sure others would appreciate this as well!Oh and about the advice/questions section... i think that would also keep the other topics more organized by keeping the questions about a topic separate from the discussions and conversations about a topic, dont you think? if you want an intellectual conversation on psychology, you want to find topics for conversation and not sift through all the little questions. But this is just my opinion.Let me know what you think of these please! I am not trying to be damanding or picky, i am just trying to help you guys out a little bit.
