I can understand from those point of views, honestly. But my problem is, say you have a bank robber who wants to work as a consultant. Who better to give a bank suggestions for their security then someone who breaks into banks? Now it may not always be a good idea either to put someone in that situation because they have the possibility go of going back to their old ways, but if someone truly wanted to do that, and they had the talent for it, and the character that says I've changed my ways, why should they not be given the chance? And what of those wrongly accused? I know someone, a friend who was accused of making inappropriate suggestions to a minor, I was even told what really happened, and how his word meant nothing in his defense. He was sent to jail for almost 5 years for doing NOTHING. And he now has his life threatened, his family's lives threatened because he's registered as a child sex offender. He didn't do anything to deserve it but all it took was someone saying he did it. And now his life is ruined, he struggles from day to day because any respectable business wont hire him. He runs his own business, but has lost clients because of his record. He's honest, and hard working but struggles to make ends meet. How many others are forced to suffer the same fate? Those who have done nothing, but could not prove their innocence. There are any number of felons who have committed crimes and paid the price, and would do it again in an instant. There are those who have learned and would never do it again, but they have no way to truly prove themselves except by accepting whatever menial job they can get and working hard knowing they will never get ahead. And there are those who are innocent of any number of crimes, and paid a debt they didn't owe. How can society treat these people the same as they treat the worthless lowlifes who have no respect for themselves. I know it can be difficult to distinguish between these people, but a first impression of someone should be made when you meet that person first, not when you read something about their past. Give someone a chance to state their case, and explain before you judge their character and write them off.

Then Enders Game is one I've never heard of, I will certainly look into those. lol I finally finished Wizards first Rule, and I'm on Stone of tears, which is pretty good, I'm about 350 pages into the book and I'm not happy with some of the events, But I hope things will improve soon. I've read Harry Potter up to book 5, I was very upset at book 5 and therefore never finished the series. But Sherlock Holmes is one I never thought to read, it could be interesting, Thank you.

Zeyomie replied to Zeyomie's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Can we say typo? I missed it, excuse me, i was making it with one hand while holding a sleeping infant, it wasn't exactly easy to catch everything. Xalor, thanks for the tip, I'll play with it some more and see what I get. Edit: What do you think now? It's so much more... Me. lol -
My Trap Sig First ive done in awhile...
Zeyomie replied to Zeyomie's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I could live with an 8.3... Anyway, Bani suggested something in red so how about this one? Better? worse? Same? -
Sorry I took it a little personal. But yeah I know what you mean. A lot of my bad credit comes from medical bills. And another problem with the emergency room, half the time they get it wrong. I went in for a toothache that was so bad I couldn't see straight, they tried to treat me for a sore throat! I practically had to yell at the doctor to get him to listen to me. It was ridicules. ER doctors should be rotated into other departments regularly if you has me, so they don't get stuck in the routine of treating everyone the same. I wouldn't have suffered for two years if the doctors in the ER found the problem the first time I was in the ER with it, but they said I had an STD before they got any of the tests back, which technically was not physically possible as I was still a virgin at the time. But Doctors get into that routine where they see so many people we the same symptoms, it never occurs to them to be anything different.

I decided to actually make a signature for my trap account here, It's been awhile since I've done one. It's been awhile since I've made anything, much less anything completely from scratch. I almost always do some sort of manipulation of something else. But this, is completely from scratch. I started from a blank document, and I'm kinda proud of the way it turned out. However, I would love to get some opinions, some critiques if you have any.

My husband works from here at home. I work from here at home. A lot of people work from home. Home is a good place to be when you want to save money on leasing an office. We even get tax breaks from working at home. Not very many of us have a dentistry license, yet we pull teeth. I have even been known to pull my own teeth. My husband isn't licensed to build fences, but he does it anyway. Does that mean because he hit a gas line while digging a posthole that he should be charged, arrested, and go to jail for not having a license to build fences? Well, apparently, noone thought that or thinks that because he is still working. As the sole proprietor of his business, it just means he's held accountable for accidents, that's what insurance is for. We don't even have insurance. Finally, my last thought on this topic, if I were to go to a person to have a service provided and I didn't feel that the service was going to at least meet the standards I feel are required, that would be an indicater that I need to go somewhere else.

If You Get A Collections Call Whom Do You Deal With?
Zeyomie replied to chakri's topic in General Discussion
Thats a very good question, I think first you would go to the collection agency an have them verify the debt, if you never had the debt to begin with, they would not be able to verify it and therefore they would be unable to collect on it, if there was some sort of error, etc. However if they were able to verify it you would go to the original company and have them investigate it, for the possibility of fraud and identity theft. I would think -
Ah That is what it was, You joined a long time ago, when they were still doing credits instead of mycents, you must have earned a lot of credits back then, lol. But that makes sense, it's keeping track of your mycents, and not previous credits you earned before the mycents went into effect. That make sense to you?
-
On your profile and when you post down there in red it shows your mycents, now if you get over 100 mycents it sends $1 to your xisto account, and shows your total earnings in green above your mycents when you post. Of course, if you use any of your earnings it doesn't always show whats in your xisto account, just how much you've earned in total. For example, mine says I've earned $8, but I only have $6 in my account because I purchased hosting already. I hope that helps Lonebyrd.edited typos

This really irks me, I have several friends, and even some family members who are felons. They've made their mistakes and have paid their debt to society. But they are not able to get respectable employment, It seems these days the only places that will hire felons are fast food joints. Most of them that I know have resorted to running their own businesses because people refuse to hire them because of their background. At least those who don't work at McDonalds or Waterburger. Employers are not supposed to discriminate against felons, just like anyone else. But I guarantee you, you have a felon apply for a job, and someone who is less qualified apply for the same job. That less qualified person will be hired well before the felon is even considered. I know too many people who are GOOD PEOPLE that are discriminated against because of their background. Even when it comes to those who own their own businesses. Should someones background really be taken that much into consideration when choosing them to do your work? Say you want a landscaper to design your yard. His price is reasonable, and he's more then qualified with many years experience, has references, and is known for being honest and doing quality work. Would you hire him if say he was a past sex offender or thief? He's obviously trying to make a life for himself by doing honest hard work, and has learned from his mistakes, or could even have been wrongly accused and still did the time for it, you really wouldn't know. Would you hire him over someone who was less experienced, with higher prices, and fewer references, but had a clean record?

I plan to have a garden this year. I thought about planting a little bit of everything, however, I think it best if I just plant stuff that I will actually use to eat or cook myself. I will probably stick with a row of corn, tomatoes, green beens, bell and jalapeno peppers, lettuce, potatoes, carrots, onion, and garlic. Oh and two or three plants of okra. I love okra but it grows so fast and you have to harvest it every other day in order to keep up with it.

I don't know the movie that I watched or the exact quote of what I am passing on, so I am just paraphrasing here, but, it was amusing just the same. Every day for six days, take a boiled egg and a piece of cake out to the gopher hole. Stuff the egg down first and then the cake. On the seventh day, after you put the egg in the hole, forget the cake, just leave it out - but be waiting. After the gopher has eaten the egg and pops his head out wondering where the cake is - WHACK IT!!!

A lot of people prefer the original series, my cousin however seems to take everything into account including the books, we had an argument the other day about the new spock and kirk and when they first met, simply because of the difference between the movies/series, and the books. Either way, he still believes the original is the best as well, I like them all to different degrees, different ways, etc.

Thats very interesting, but I seriously couldn't imagine having 8 babies, I feel for the moms, i mean, I know kids are a joy, but she plans to breast feed them, She would be doing so constantly by the time you fed the 8th one it would be time to start over again, I don't see how it possible, the body just doesn't seem capable of it. But hey, more power to her!

Not treating someone who doesn't have insurance is like someone telling you because you have no money you have no right to eat and therefore live. If it was a case of not being treated because you don't have insurance, then the government would HAVE to provide insurance for everyone, not just children or pregnant women. I personally don't have insurance, I couldn't afford it if I did. Are you going to tell me I can't go to a doctor when I'm in blinding pain even though it's not life threatening? Pain so severe you can't move. Your not going to die from it, but that is basically what your saying there, that I would have no right to go to the hospital to get relief from that pain. What good is a hospital if they does relieve the suffering of people who are in pain whether or not they have insurance. I had my gall bladder removed 3 years ago. I rated the pain I was in as 10, pain I never had lived through in my life before. Pain that wakes you from a sound sleep and doubles you over to the point of screams and last for hours at a time. I had already been suffering from that pain for two years before I went to the hospital for it. I had gone to clinics for it from which I paid the bills, they told me it was an infection and gave me antibiotics that did nothing for me. It was only when the pain was worse then it had ever been and I could take no more, that I went to the hospital and they actually found the correct source and it was taken care of. Would you have me continue suffering because I didn't have insurance? The problem truly lies in the cost of everything. If it didn't cost $300 to $1,000 to go to the emergency room people could afford to pay the bills and the hospital wouldn't be losing money day after day, but to deny someone the right to go because of an inability to pay is in effect torture. Last I knew we were out of the dark ages. I personally think there are a lot of factors to consider, 1. the pharmaceutical companies, they charge such outrageous prices for medication that it is near impossible to get anything, and the insurance companies are having to shell out for it and they raise their premiums to compensate. 2. The cost of education. It costs so much to go to school to become a doctor, or lawyer or anything for that matter that very few can truly afford it, or are in effect spending years and years paying for that education, they in turn have to charge a lot to be able to pay their loans, those who don't shouldn't be allowed to charge so much for their services, becoming a doctor shouldn't be about making money. 3. Malpractice comes from mistakes, or those who are not properly educated, if it's the first well doctors are so worried about their not golf game they aren't paying attention and shouldn't be allowed to do what they are doing, or they are so overworked they are exhausted and same thing. for the later, it goes back t education, and it's the educators who are at fault but since there are so many who contribute to education no one person can be found at fault. Those doctors who are overworked, well I just say if the cost of education was cheaper there would be more doctors, and less overworked ones. 4. Lack of regulation, if the government would come in and really get into regulating healthcare and stopping all thsi inflation it would really be a benefit not only to the hospitals but the patients as well. There, i'm done.

Surely if moving a topic to a no post count forum wouldn't reduce everyones current counts, I don't see how it could hurt. I think it would help stop some of those posts being brought up from years ago. I personally try to avoid anything from last year even, which is perhaps why I don't do a lot of posting. Only after a topic is brought back will I post more often then not, not realizing it was an old topic to begin with. It would be helpful if something could be done with all the old topics. If nothing else, just close them, if the matter is solved, that way people can still benefit from the information without people posting going "I agree with that" on a topic thats 3 years old... Ya know?

Seriously, Companies like Microsoft need to give their CEO's and executives a huge paycut instead of firing employees. It makes me sick that all these conglomerates are just cutting people away while the higher ups get million dollar paychecks. Cut one executives paycheck in half, say 700k down to 350, still comfortable for the executive, and you would save at least 10 jobs. Do that with a couple hundred higher ups, which I'm sure Microsoft has, an exec for every department, the the v-execs, and WHOA, you wouldn't have to put 1500 on the unemployment list! That is something I wish the government could do. Limit how much an executive could make when a company has financial problems, (profits down, etc) It would save so many jobs, and people in general.

Designing Vs Templets Which do you prefer?
Zeyomie replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I use a template for two reasons. 1, I'm not fluent with my programs anymore, and I sit there going "How do I do that?" 90% of the time when I do have time to sit here and design something. And 2. 90% of the rest of the time, i don't have time to sit here and play around with it. There is the constant interruption that consumes my attention and will continue to do so until he at least starts going to school most of the day. I would prefer to do sites myself to give them that personal touch, if I had the time, and the know-how or the time to get the know-how believe me I would be doing it myself. If I was good enough then I could in turn do them for others and get paid for it, *daydreams* -
Very interesting, your right about it being something you wouldn't just go out and buy, but certainly something worth upgrading in the future when the price drops a but. I like the idea of a greener computer, and certainly the longer battery length, I stay plugged in at all times as my battery only lasts about half an hour. Which basically means, I don't lose everything if the power goes out, but I better hurry up and save. lol Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Weather-diaster A must have kit you should have
Zeyomie replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in Home & Garden
It's a great list of stuff to have. I plan on making sacks for each of us. A backpack with a change of clothes, food, tolitries etc for myself and my hubby, and another with diapers, formula, clothes, and toys for my son. You never know when something might come up. Like my hubby's friends, their house burned down and they lost everything! Their home, their pets, even access to their cars since the keys were inside, they melted to the floor. To lose everything like that, it's always a good idea to have a back up plan. And to keep you valuables in a fireproof safe, or a backpack duffel bag where they can be taken with you in an emergency. Things like birth certificates, social security cards, etc. Things you don't carry with you normally but aren't that easily replaced. I keep that and keepsake items, (ultrasound pictures, letters, cards, my honor cords when I graduated) in a duffel bag that I can just grab on the way out the door. It doesn't exactly make that worry free, but at least I know if something happens, I can grab it and not lose everything. -
Cuba And Embargo Lift the Embargo or not?
Zeyomie replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in General Discussion
Personally, I think it should wait until Castro is gone. He's old and his health if failing, but at long as he has any power or say so they can't be trusted. It would give them an opportunity to say take revenge or something for the embargo being there so long, they could try to blame the US for their economic downfall. Who knows... I am not very trusting myself, and the last thing we need to is go invading /ANOTHER/ country. We don't have the resources in the US right now to really be able to keep that close an eye on them. Better to leave it alone until were more stable ourselves. The US has got to stop overextending our resources.
