Free Hosts Whats Not To Love? Right.. hate true some free hosts.
hertonsils replied to special's topic in The Vent
Mmmm totally agree with you there. Most free hosts are absolutely ridiculous, they plaster so many ads over you site and make it look tacky and unprofessional, they have crappy loading times and don't have virtually any decent features such as cPanel, statistics, fantastico or the ability to set it a domain.Xisto is awesome though. Nothing like the other free hosts. -
Hmmm I could probably go on for a while so I'll try to summarise my top loves:- My family, they're great and supportive.- My friends - most awesome bunch of mates I could ask for.- Music, oh my... where would I be without it.- The internet - My baby.- Cats... love 'em.- Myself! Because I am freaking awesome. That's about it.

Wow there's some cool stuff there. I have to admit I did already know a few of those tricks but some of the ones (especially the custom brush feature) are cool and new to me. Sure I probably will never use them (I'm a photoshop addict) but it's always nice to know.

I don't mean to be rude but this is absolutely horrible what has happened and all you guys care about are the Xisto servers?I mean don't get me wrong I love Xisto but it's still here so obviously it's okay, I just feel we should be more paying our respects to the victims.

Internet Censorship In Australia
hertonsils replied to HyBriD54's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I am an Australian and I strongly oppose these internet censorship laws. For so long we have criticized china for their internet censorship and now we will be no better! On top of that the filter is done dynamically meaning that there is plenty of room for error and perfectly legitimate websites may be banned by accident. But the thing that really annoys me is it is going to slow our internet connections down, they reckon on average by 30% and on some connections up to 80%. Plus they are charging us for the privilege. Urgh what is the world coming to. -
I'm definitely not afraid of dying. I figure that you can't get the most out of your life if you spent it afraid of the end.

Invest Five Bucks Into 20k? Is it possible?

If it looks like a pyramid scheme, feels like a pyramid scheme and sounds like a pyramid scheme... then it probably is a pyramid scheme. -
I used to skip quite a lot of classes in school but then it really screwed me over and I ended up dropping out. The problem was once you missed one or two lessons you become behind, because you are behind you miss more and then you get even more behind - it becomes a snowballing effect and eventually you come to class and have no idea what the hell they are talking about.I went back to finish my schooling last year and had the right attitude and never wagged (well, almost never) and I was amazed at how much better my results were and overall success I had with it. It was much easier that way.

Yeah I agree - do not take sleeping pills. Some of the best ways I find to get to sleep are:Exercising during the day to make you more tired at night time.Having a tea before you go to bed (something nice and herbal like Moroccan mint).Taking a nice long bubble bath before you go to bed, it really relaxes your entire body.Watch an episode of days of our lives.

I heard his speech and I thought it was one of the best presidential speeches ever made. Very moving and powerful and really made me feel like America was heading in the right direction.

Well the first one is tiny but I think it would help for a lot of us. I've noticed you have two versions of the forums - one I'm assuming is designed for SE traffic with plenty of ads on it and one is for the members so they can have the nice vibrant forum feel to it. I constantly find myself clicking on the header naturally in order to get back to the home forum page but then get taken to the SE designed one - anyway you could change it so this doesn't happen? Also the other thing I found is it gets a little bit confusing for new people that even though you have introduced myCents, the whole new method of paying for your hosting (which mind you I think is a good system) it's a bit confusing that there is still all this information about the old system... for example the links on the homepage to the old system and on the forum index there is a thing telling you how many of the OLD credits you have as well as the OLD packages.Anyway aside from those two things I love the site... keep it up

Young Enterprise Toilet Roll Printing Company
hertonsils replied to in-print's topic in Business Forum
How about some interesting toilet facts? For example did you know that on average a person visits the toilet 2,500 times a year? (True fact)Also did you know that the average person spends 3 years of their life on the toilet (Also true!)And my favorite - did you know that in ancient times some cultures worshiped toilets as gods... (okay fine I just made that one up) -
I Need A Review On My Website Review me please
hertonsils replied to dcskataboy's topic in Websites and Web Designing
The site is clean and functional which are probably the main things you were going for for a business of that type so props to you for that. However, the design simply doesn't have anything eye catching or nice to look at. It's virtually two colors and lots of text. You'd be surprised at how much better it might make it look even if you did something as simple as whipped up a nice graphically enticing header image.Anyway keep up the work, you are going strong -
So I went out and picked up a book called "The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists" by writer Neil Strauss the other day and have just finished reading it and I must say it's pretty interesting. It speaks about the underground world of pickup artists, techniques they use and what distinguishes them from every other male out there.Has anyone read this? If so what were your thoughts?

In my opinion Google Chrome is pretty lite but it is still in beta stage so I don't know if this will be enough to turn you off.

Haha that's totally ingenious. A cool addition to the desk AND practical.I think I might get one of those for my mate for Christmas, would make a very unique gift. -
I would definitely say the Donkey Kong series. Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country 2 were my favourites - absolute classics. By the time it got to the third one I got a bit sick of them though. The mario series was also pretty good.Oh yeah and one that a lot of people didn't like but I did was harvest moon.

Leaving Your Computer On? - is this good for it?
hertonsils replied to nickmealey's topic in Software
I don't personally do this because I really have no need or desire (plus it just racks the power bill up) but I know plenty of people that leave theirs on 24/7 and get away just fine with it.I don't think it's totally all that bad for it but then again it's definitely not good for it. -
What Is A Really Good Wmv And Avi To Dvd Converter?
hertonsils replied to lucky3's topic in Software
You might find yourself having a pretty hard time getting a free one. I know in terms of paid software Roxio DVD creator is good for this and Nero Vision isn't bad either so maybe you could find a 30 day trial somewhere. Try heading over to download.com to see if they have what you are looking for. -
