  1. Doesn't look all too much like an ad, as the link goes to a more of a review style article, rather then say...."FREE DATING NOW!" sort of thing.
  2. I highly doubt that will be put into effect if anything like this is even being proposed. What is keeping companies afloat is providing what people want. You don;t have to shove it down peoples throats. If you make something they people want, they ill eat it themselves. This leads me into what I quoted. Companies cannot/will not do somrhting like charge money for a set amount of web sites. If a internet company simply does what is currently available ( $50/month for DSL broadband speed, no dl limits ), then all those who are using the $XXX for XX websites will be run out of business. This is why I believe it cannot and will not happen.
  3. I understand your point, but I believe in the advance of games. The old games were good....for their time.In today's world, a good game has many options, extreme graphics, and more freedom than what we were offered with the old games.
  4. I am going to have to say Call of Duty 4.I prefer it on the xbox 360, but if it has to be PC, then I would still pick it.Best multiplayer, guns, and fun I have seen. <--( Opinion....obviously. )
  5. Damn Small Linux is damn small. I would reccomend it first for a small ditro, but you may also wanna try Arch Linux. It gives a lot of freedom with a small package - like being completely customizable. ( Bigger than Damn Small Linux... )
  6. Making your own web browser is not all too hard. You can do it in Visual Basic (VB) with ease. Here is a quick tutorial if you need more evidence: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ( First link from Google. )
  7. uTorrent Why: -Fast -Small -No install needed -Easy to use -Great support -Need I say more? uTorrent is, in my opinion, the best windows bittorrent client. http://www.utorrent.com/intl/en/
  8. I use a Intel Core 2 CPU X6800 @ 2.93 GHzIt suits me just fine.
  9. Reinstalling windows every say month or three is completely unneeded. If you keep running into problems, then maybe it is not the OS, but rather something else.If it slows down, delete what you don't need, run an anti-virus ( if you think you have virus ), registry scan, and clear all temp files, and DEFRAG your hard drive!!!! <--(Can't emphasize last point enough, as this is what people DON'T do and then complain about slow computer.)I have not reinstalled windows in over 2 years, and it still works at top speed, due to my regular maintenance.
  10. Man, you beat me by a couple of minutes. I was also gonna say that the type='submit' was missing from all of these. Oh well, good job!
  11. There is also a law that states you must carry a license to wear a mask in California. ( Halloween is allowed though. )If anyone knows more, please, tell us. They are very entertaining.
  12. The games that are being created now a days require some power. I'm also saying if you can afford it, go for it. That way, you have some extra oomph. I only have a dual core and I feel the strain some programs like my mathematics program I have puts on my computer.
  13. You could always write your own IP scanner. ( So you can be sure it is clean, and not some virus or worm. ) This a great and simple to understand tutorial on how to write a IP scanner in Visual Basic ( VB ). http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ( I did not find one on this site. ) As for working in a wireless environment....anything that works with cables will work with wireless.....if you have a working internet connection. ( There is no difference, other than not having to hassle with cables. )
  14. On the box, the games requires Windows Vista, doesn't it? Anywho, you might want to check out the following link. It tells how you can get Halo 2 working with Windows XP. http://www.lanthrax.com/news_details.asp?NewsID=1017 As for the Accelerated 3D not working......I have no clue. ( It too is a requirement under Windows Vista. )
  15. Is your internet working when you try to access the store? There should be no reason for iTunes not to connect tot he internet when you are able to visit this site. The error could also be with their server. ( It may be overloaded/down, and can't process any requests. )
  16. I too had problems with Wubi at first. One thing that can cause an error, may be if you closed the installation window where is asks for information, like how much space you want to use/username/password....and so on. If you close the installation window there, you have to actallu go to: My Computer >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs and remove Ubuntu from the list. Other than that, there should not be anything that causes errors, unless you don't have the ram and space needed. To have Wubi install a different distro you would have to do some changing of the code, but it is possible. Check this out. ( At the VERY bottom, it describes how to use your own distro. ) https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide
  17. I think forums are extremely great. They keep a community of people together in one place, but also provides the organization needed.I will agree with you that forums are a place where people who are bored come to, or people who need help, as they can ask us questions.Practically every website has a forum. Why? I don't know, maybe it is used as a fan storage area, to keep all the fans from wreaking havoc. ( Last sentence is my imagination talking. )
  18. I spend a large portion of my time on computer for various reasons. ( 00.01% = gaming. )I tend to mostly read/learn/and code when I am on my computer.I however only spend time when I have nothing else to do. ( Homework or friends )I also sorta "need" my computer though. I need to for email and looking up information. So in the end, I do rely heavily on my computer...when I use it.
  19. Send mail?!?!? Man, that's a good joke. I haven't sent or recieved actual mail for a while now. ( From family/friend ). I also don't send it. I find it slow, wasteful ( paper ), and tiresome. I guess if you give it some more time, it will become a thing of the past, like Windows 95... Then again, mail may come back if people feel email is too insecure, but I highly doubt that. ( It's possible.......maybe... )
  20. I agree! Ever since I bought an invite from someone on ebay shortly after they had opened it for invite only, I have been amazed with their service. They have saved my butt twice when I needed an important project. ( I used the firefox addon to make Gmail a storage place. )I am also very impressed with their customer support. Very fast response time with valuable info to get you going again.10/10 in my email book.
  21. Hahahaha. I know exactly what you are talking about. Garry's Mod is the greatest and best thing ever created, apart from several other things.I don't play zombie thing. I prefer to simple create a big maps, fill it with useless, but eye catching objects with a couple of people, and go and cause havoc.I still don't understand one thing, how to you install downloads like extra skins/objects?I have had problems with this in the past and couldn't not get it working.Any help is much appreciated.
  22. Try to keep such services as a last resort.First try to go out meet people in person. As to if they work, I have seen good outcomes and bad. ( I have personally never used it. )Several of my friends have tried it, and the results were mixed. Some broke up a short time later, others are still dating. ( Roughly 4 months now. )If you really want to, try it! Have fun and indulge. There is always someone for everyone.....though not always in front of you.( Guy in article was one who got a good outcome )
  23. I have used both Wordpress and CuteNews.I also agree with everyone here, that Wordpress is the better choice. ( Assuming you want to use a Database. )Both do have a great community ready to help you whenever you run into a problem.Wordpress also can allow for some greater customization, which CuteNews cannot currently deliver as well as plugins that Wordpress has.
  24. You can still go back! You should go back!People need an education more than ever these days. People who don't, serve burgers and become janitors. ( Don't get me wrong, if you want to be a janitor, go for it! )I would first contact your school board and talk it out with them. You would start in the 9th grade, assuming you have been out all of high school. This may be tough and humiliating, but it is FULLY worth it. Education > No Education
  25. I have to say I prefer Call of Duty 4 on the Xbox 360. I have played Call of Duty 4 on the computer and the PlayStation 3. I don't particularly like using a mouse and keyboard or the feel of the PS 3 controller for first person shooter games.Don't get me wrong, the graphics looked way better then the xbox 360, but again, this is all personal preference. ( I don't like the mouse/ps3 controller. )I also think the Xbox 360 has the best online play. More players seem to be active and play the game it was meant to be played, unlike on the computer. ( Modded Servers. )If you happen to be a die hard PS3 fan o computer fan, go for it on those systems.
