  1. I have the Athalon 3200+.It's a very good processor, does it overheat? Yes! One time I had to look at the chip to get information for my BIOS and when I reassembled the headsink/fan I put it on upside down. Now some background, my MoBo has a feature where by it will kill the computer if a tempurature is measured at 85 degrees centigrade or higher. The computer was only on for 1 or two seconds before it shut off, needless to say the processor hit 85 degres in only a few seconds. Now, you need a computer that will shut off in the event of high heat, and you need a good fan/heatsink, the stock fan/heatsink didn't quite do a good job. However, if you buy a good (I think the replacement cost $30) fan, and get a computer that will shut off (they tell me most do) then there's nothing wrong with them.I would recomend the processor to anybody.

  2. First let me say

But, tell me where would you have placed them at?

    I aggree entirly.
But now serously, I know this a good topic to get people talking, but why does every religion feel the need to force themselfs on other people. Kinda like the bee won't sting you if you don't bother it. Like it was mentioned, a very large number of wars were caused but one prson feeling they were right, and that the other needed to change.

  3. Yes, I just checked and the message from Xisto bounced back, here's the message, not quite sure what it means, like I've said I can send to myself, so that's very odd.

Yes, i've tried that way and thru outlook too, the same things happened, can you
please send a mail to comsualicenca1@sapo.pt and see what happens?
The mail() function on php of my site is with the same problem, for example, the
contact me form its ok (i receive), but when i send a message to my members it
seems it dosen't work, that's all so confusing!! sad.gif

When someone register they dosen't receive the link confirmation!I think the
problem is with the Xisto hosting, i don't know, because the mail() function
    don't use my mail!! unsure.gif

Is there any way of using the mail() with SMTP, so i can use another mail
    server??

Thanks very much for your help.

  4. Let me start by saying that I'm asking this for a School Assignment. To create a question, and get answers.

Accidents happen, and when they happen in the transportation industry human safety is often a factor. After the recent sinking of the Queen of the North ferry, investigators are announcing a $500,000 mission to retrieve information from computers on the bridge. This mission is not guranteed, nor is it easy. Given the situation does this really warrant the price tag?
    More Information: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Could you also post so I can get a screen name for my assignment,
    Thanks

  5. I'll try sending mail, just how exactly did you create it? I'm going to my cpanel, clicking read mail, and from there I'll send a message, is this what you did?UPDATE: if the above is what you did, it worked for me.UPDATE 2: The strange thing, I can't seem to send mail back to Xisto, there is no bounce message, but no inbox message either.

  6. I like your other version better. What you show here has just plain rectangles as buttons, but when I click the d-gression link, it goes to another version, whick I assume is your older version. It seems that the older one goes better with your banner than this new one. Prehaps if you changed you main banner, it would fit together a little better, to me at least.

Yes, the link is the older version, I do kinda like to buttons, the problem with them is two fold, 1, they are hard to add/subtract from should I want to add something new. 2, If this list gets two long the perspective from the camera would make the colom cure off the the left, which I celieve is already a little apparent.

You need to put the border on #menu a as well to avoid the jitter when you hover over the links (unless that's the effect you were going for).

Yeah I was trying something there, and just didn't fix it before I posted it online, perhapse I should do that.
And I'll look into diffrent colors. Also If anyone knows CSS does anybody know how to make the menu centered on IE, like it is on FF, and Opera

  7. I have been looking at notebook computers, and have noticed that appears to be the latest in power boosting, the dual core. Now I was wondering a few things about a dual core.Firstly, If the description says 1.67 gHz dual core, is that the equivalent of having two 1.67 ghz processors, or two 800ish mHz processors?Secondly, If I had the choice of getting a note book with a 2.2 gHz processor, or a 2 gHz dual core processor, all other specs are the same, which would be the better deal? And lastly, for now, I understand that WinXP Pro is required when you have two processors, it this true?, and does it apply to dual core processors as well?

  8. Wow, I guess this little comment comes in a little late, but

Are you completely blind to the fact that America donates and supports more countries in this world (both finacially AND militarily) than any nation has ever even come close to doing in the history of man?

You are also aware then that this habbit of donating to countries has placed the US government into a debt so deep the only way to get out would be to invade Switzerland and concour the banks (Just kidding of course) So much debt that it continues to increase by (approximatly) $2.46 billion per day!

  9. Nope that doesn't quite do it, Although it's a start, the dark green div doesn't extend the entire height of the two column area, I also took the liberity of commenting out all the position tags, (after first trying your suggestions) still nothing. Note I don't quite have the numbers right for it to work in IE, so I'd recoment only looking in FireFox (I don't need help fixing this, just more time)I know it's a very messy CSS sheet, with all the comments, but I'm still tweeking it, anyway the address above is the changed page. Thankyou for your reply, and any aditional replyes

  10. I recently posted a question regarding how to make two colums the same height, in short it can't be done, but there is a way using a tiled background image, ok fine. My probloem how exists that this image isn't the background of the body rather a DIV and I can't get hte two nestled DIVs to lign up next to each other, I've tried floating byt that removes the cells from the current document low and their height doesn't apply to the faux columns, I have also tried the four position options, static, absolute, fixed, and relative. None if them work however some kinda work but for the ones that work no position can be set to make the coums line up, only to have the one on the right start right after the one on the left. THe page is http://forums.xisto.com, the layout I have right now does work except the text coumns are not suposeto be there and there should be part of the box from the revious DIV behind them.

This is what it should look like:

  11. I have always thought this sould be a standard featue in cable/satalight boxes. Say I'm watching FOX-W now I don't know where that's from but I'm willing to be the cable company does, so I figure they should have feature in the box so, say in the program information It tells me what time it is whereever FOX-W is. That way whenever it says coming up at 6:00, then I know what time it is there without having to go and figure it out.

  12. I logged into my cpanel today and in the part near the top of the page it said that the last address to login to my cpanel was 127.0.0.1 I was wondering what that's about? By my thinking that would mean that someone on the serverside had logged into my cpanel, and I was wondering why that might be? Or if there was perhapse some other little glitch that would yeild that information. I took a screenshot but don't have it on me, so perhapse I'll post it later if I can get a hold of it (on a diffrent computer network)

  13. Okay say I was building a site (what do you know I am!) and I want to use CSS. the problem being I don't know how to make a floated cell be the same height as another. FOr example

    <div id="main"><div id="left">just some </br> stuff over </br> here!</div><div id="right">but...</br> over here </br> I have </br> even more stuff</br> to </br> display</br></div></div>

now If I float the left to the left and the right to the right and set ther widths so that they will be beside eachother the left div is shorter then the right, which makes sense because there is more content in the right. I want to know how to make them the same height without specisifing the actual height, because it may change.

  14. the vast majority of icons, buttons etc on the web still use GIF format so I find it unusual that someone would recommend not using it.

In fact the buttons on this very forum are .gif.
Also someone said that with a flash site it can load a little slower, true but still try to keep the load time under 30 seconds, trust me I'm on dialup, I know flash sites look good, but they are very, very, very annoying. Especialy when the flash is used for something that could be done with CSS, like color changing text, on mouseover.

One more tip, try to avoid Java, and PDF both take time to load, and can serously slow down a browser/computer.
