  1. I've always wanted to experience flight. I also love moving really, really fast sometimes. I'd be a peregrine falcon, reaching speeds up to 200mph during a dive to catch prey in mid-air. I can't even imagine the rush of 200 mph. I sure can 100mph though
  2. I live in Green Bay, and nearly everytime the Packers are playing, the streets are completely dead. It's like a ghost town in a city of 100,000. When they won the Super Bowl a few years back, this city was off the hook. You could not walk through any store without some sort of Packer paraphernelia being sold. It was all about the cheese.
  3. I have always wondered, does everyone see the same 'color'. I could be looking at an object and see blue and you could be looking at the same object and see green, but another person would see it as violet. But we all call those colors by a single name, maybe yellow. If we were told a certain color is a certain color, that's all we'd ever be able to call it. You almost lost me here
  4. A lot of parents don't care or overlook the ESRP rating when they purchase games for their kids. In another sense, a parent may buy the game for themselves as well or to quiet an ignorant child. It's when sex, not killing people, becomes an issue. Because it's the next big thing. Real nudity in a game, virtual or not should carry the Mature rating.Better believe Wal-Mart won't sell it without a customer ID.
  5. I have a linksys router. Rather than mess with the encryption, I use the mac filtering feature. It only allows the devices with the mac address I specify to access the network. What I'd like to know... is that secure? I know it doesn't encrypt what goes in the air wirelessly, but if you don't have access to the network, can you even sniff that information?
  6. My favorite book is by Jack London, "The Call of the Wild"He writes from an animal's point of view, and the story is just amazing. It's about a dog kidnapped from a very fine living and thrown in with the Alaskan gold rush dogs, and eventually turning wild.Now... I have to read it again, as I haven't read any book in quite a while.
  7. In windows you need to be able to see the file's extension so you can rename a .txt file to .bat This batch code I wrote searches your C:\ drive for video files and drops the results into a file. That file is then processed into links on a web-page. The web-page is then opened for you to view. Click the links to view the file, right click -> save as to save to another place on your computer. I use it a lot after browsing videos on the web. It's fun to see what videos end up cached (left on the computer from browsing) Insert this into a file named vid-search.txt Then save, rename the file vid-search.bat Then open the vid-search.bat file like you would any file. It will work its magic. 8. Some people are very patriotic when it comes to the flag, after all it is a symbol of our country. United States Code Title 36 Chapter 10 ยง176 ( A lot of times foreign-run stores display their own country's flag above the USA flag and they come under fire, especially by veterans.
  9. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittt's Debate Moooooooorrrrrnings!!!!!With our hosts: electriic ink, truefusion, and of course, adrianator!Today's topic... COLOR@!!!#electriic ink appears to think that a color of an object is permanent while adrianator says it can change depending on the light imposed upon it, and truefusion makes the statement that new color can not be created!truefusion: Color is color and can't be created.electriic ink: mmm, yes, but an object's original color can't be changedadrianator: Well if original color, as in the color under the sun, is your reference point, it will be the same unless a different light is shown upon it.announcer: it appears you three are arguing against each other's statements, but are really stating various aspects of color, and can't seem to absorb into a single agreementaudience: <laughter>
  10. I am 5'7" 180 lbs. Always have been. I game all the time on Quake 3 Arena. I would rather hold my pee than get off a game sometimes, let alone eat when I'm hungry. Thinking about things and gaming can burn calories. He's not suggesting anything. If anything, he's curious to why some gamers are skinny, even though they binge on games every possible moment they can and eat unhealthy. Maybe it's the lack of nutrition?I have a friend that eats only at his place, and eats just about every kind of food. He's the skinniest, whitest guy I know. He needs sun that he plays so much on the games.
  11. Didn't Google just make a few billion dollars in just a few hours? I'm sure their pockets can handle it.
  12. China is not a free country. They even impose restrictions on how many children you can have. They restrict access to thousands of web-sites. It's just like the United States saying that you shouldn't be accessing web-sites that contain terrorist activities. China sees these videos as a threat and has shut them down to preserve the way of life the government has created for its people.
  13. I still have to argue the color thing. If our sun were putting out a different light wavelength, all colors on this planet would be different. But color is made up of what part of the light spectrum is being reflected. If it reflects all the spectrum, then the object will appear white, until you shine red on it because that is all it has to reflect. An object that can ONLY reflect red, will always be red no matter what kind of light is shown on it, unless that light is void of all red spectrum light, then the object may appear dark. I guess that's the experiment. Can we strip an object of its own color by shining light void of that spectrum, and will it appear dark? A talk show with us? Oh wow!
  14. Maybe the USA put the WMDs in Iraq and wherever else they claim to have them and now they are frantically searching for them because those countries are now playing keeps. Just like when we supply weapons to anything else. It could be a huge mistake to do so as we learned with the Al Qaeda.
  15. Well, as for hearing if a girl is behind us or not, we do carry fields of energy: magnetic, chemical, and I'm sure certain other wavelengths, along with pheremones and man-made scents can help us get that feeling to look, as does our hearing and other senses that we have. If thought is all about a combination of memories, when did mankind START thinking about UFOs and extraterrestrial beings or anything else for that matter? According to your argument, if no one ever thought of it before to give someone a memory, we'd never think of it in the future. Yea, they're all conditional statements and speculation, but they're also not proven facts, so I can't simply state it as if it were a fact. Some things we know, are solid facts already. Colors simply exist and can not be created. Primary colors are such only according to what we say and books that we read from. Primary colors are different depending on the application. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primary_colors You can't relate a solid fact to a speculation. I will provide an argument though. We can only see a certain spectrum of light (through which we get our color). If we were given opportunity to receive different kinds of light, we may see different colors, like those Reveal bulbs. A color of something is not permanent, it can change with the light shown upon it. If we were suddenly able to see beyond the spectrum that we can, we'd be seeing different colors. Like black light responsiveness, of which, the colors produced could be further altered by other kinds of light. I'm sure we can assume that there exist many more primary colors that we could use in various applications. We can not create colors, but we sure can 'unlock' them Psychic? Coincidence? Intuition? Some people have these 'impulses' of thought that hit them like a brick and further investigation proves that thought to be true. Some people even try to put crazy logic behind it, like they come to believe the plants talk to them. What if it's coincidence that coincidences happen at an unnatural rate for certain people. What causes coincidence? In all the infinite of possibilities, coincidences should occur, mathematically, almost as often as someone getting struck by lightning or less often. You may still be thinking of TV psychics who claim they can 'force' their gift. What I am talking about happens whether you like it or not and at random times at a subconscience level before it's even formed into a thought. We can not assume that the only signals our brains process is from the 5 basic senses. Just remember, if someone thinks it's possible, it probably is. People are making themselves like flying squirrels, it's so awesome, I want to try it. Look up base jumping videos us 3 should be friends biblical vs atheistic and i'll be the philosopher, we can challenge each others' beliefs
  16. either way it's exciting to think about such a concept ^_^i heard it takes a while to get used to 'thinking' the cursor on a screen into motionwhat i'd really like to see though is a dream recording device...
  17. Spinning, levitating magnets in a vaccuum could easily go for quite a while. Eventually though the polarities could cause some sort of friction? LMAO!
  18. Time is a relative thing. What we come to believe and accept throughout our lives, essentially becomes our life after death. If we're dying, who is to say in that last bit of brain activity, our last moments become an eternity inside our brains. Time is relative remember. Anyways, what you make of your life after death becomes what occurs as you die. What takes moments physically can take an eternity on a relative level that we can't comprehend. This is why people that are brought back from being dead momentarily, can account for a vision of life after death. It is their own thoughts being shaped by an eternity that we can't detect or comprehend. This is my scientific reasoning. This is a gift given to us. On a different note... all you religious people. God loves everyone and everything. There is a place in heaven for EVERYONE. Hell does not exist, it is a made up place created by people (like the church) who sought to control people by creating divine human law. The bible was, after all, written by man. That is my religious belief. I think tinin has seen jet li's movie, "The One" a few too many times. Yet he said it was an anime? I'm curious which one. PM me tinin 'n let me know
  19. I am not a huge fan of star trek, although I enjoyed the Voyager series. It was actually meaningful to watch.Anyways, a simple search of the Internet can prove to you that it's a proven science that we can turn our brain's activity into signals that can control mechanical motion, like a prosthetic or electronical motion, like a cursor on the screen or what not. Just google 'emotiv' and you'll find a plethora of information about just one company that is developing a head-set that reads your brains activity and translates it to a signal that can be used in many applications including gaming.Another search will prove to you that through another computer chip, in a totally unrelated field, can restore sight to a blind person by sending a signal to the brain.Bluetooth is a but one of many line-of-sight type of wireless communications available.Combine them 3 technologies...I have this vision of a future where people can 'link up' as they do on the Internet, but simply by thinking it and then viewing information, images, and video via the same type of feed that allows the blind to see again. We'll be able to communicate telepathically with technological assistance. If it became the norm, to communicate and socialize via this medium instead of through a computer network, I think there would be reduced crime. People would be able to find each other more easily by sending out thought broadcasts making kidnappings a sort of non-existent crime. Knowing that someone has criminal intentions can put people on alert around such a person. It wouldn't be right to make thoughts illegal but it sure would change the way you think if you knew someone could always 'see' or 'hear' your thoughts.I can't even imagine the safeguards necessary. Everyone would need their own identity in this 'network', it would work like a bluetooth communication, not needing any central server. What if a virus of some sort were let loose? We could all potentially hallucinate whatever the virus is telling us to see. There would have to be a way to do it without an implant so that we could detach ourselves from such communication.I can't help but wonder if strong willed individuals could end up influencing other persons' thoughts and eventually we could become borg-like with all similar thoughts. After a length of time, facts would pile up and people will see more clearly what we could accomplish more as a whole collective. As insane as it sounds, the technology is already here. It just needs tweaking.
  20. I believe EVERYONE is psychic at a subconscience level. Our brains are electrical in a way, and everything electric, and other things, have fields of energy. I believe we feed off each other's brain activity in a way that science can't yet detect. Why is it a guy can just know when to look to catch a glimpse of a girl's *bottom* 20 yards behind him or that feeling you get when someone is present but you can't see them. Our brains pick up on each other's fields of energy and at a subconscience level our thoughts are constantly mingling and producing formed ideas. Like forces attract and people who think the same usually find each other and become friends. How else can you complete another person's sentence? These fields of energy are vast, an example would be if you've ever picked up the phone without intending to call out or even receive a call. You just do it as an impulse, it doesn't even ring, and you say hello and someone IS on the other end. Or have you ever suddenly thought about someone you don't normally think about and a second later they are calling on the phone. How many times have you called someone to have them tell you they were just about to call you or vice-versa.I think that inventors receive brand new thoughts from outside of this world. New thoughts can't simply be. Our brains only work from memory and respond in such a way that is generally a programmed response because of memory. So where does all the really new stuff and genuinely new ideas come from? I can almost guarantee that new thought is not terrestrial. Why is it that UFO sightings occur over the largest cities. Well, there are more potential witnesses, but the reason for them being THERE and not elsewhere is simple. They are aware of how we think and pick up on each others' thoughts and could possibly be advanced enough to consciencely pick up another being's thought. All they simply have to do is be near enough for our energies to mingle. The effects could be astounding as new thoughts are introduced to the population, even though we aren't aware of it, and they get to study our population in relative safety. Because they KNOW, there are groups of people that are simply not friendly. Would you stick your hand in a rattlesnake's cage? Same with them and what they may think of us. Honestly, we are a hostile race. In that aspect, what if they were able to 'manipulate' our thoughts and make us hostile for their entertainment? I mean seriously, entertainment is the spice of life and a bored advanced race with nothing better to do could easily be evolved enough to accomplish this. They say large crowds of people are generally dangerous and stupid. Well that may be true, maybe because of an overload of thoughts being introduced, a more primitive state of mind takes hold as a defense mechanism. Some organization I read about so long ago (I wish I could cite the source), did a study. They had a number of people take a written test and they had other people in another room, separate from the test takers, wait patiently. After testing, the people haven't taken the test were finally tested and scored significantly higher. They reproduced this experiment many times over and the second group always did amazingly better. Is it because their thoughts mingled?Real, true psychic events occur on impulse upon our part. My grandmother was vacationing in another state when a lady next to her blurted out that one of her children was in alot of trouble. My mother was very ill because of ammonia poisoning at the time and no one knew except our household. There are so many energies our science can't yet detect and some energies we can detect aren't completely understood. Anything and everything is possible.
  21. People can certainly try to put a number on infinite. They love to do it all the time. Try to measure the universe, time, their love for each other. WELL infinite is infinite, our minds can not even begin to comprehend such a concept. Our known universe may have an edge, but who is to say there aren't more universes. They say it started as a big bang? Well what of all the space otherwise. So one lone little pinhead of a speck in such a vast nothingness existed and then it blew up? That's disgusting, but according to this physics theory I mention below, we could potentially still be that speck waiting to blow up.What if the Men In Black thing was true, that we can go infinitely larger or smaller and that we may be making up something larger. Mankind has only been around for so long (that we can tell). The dinosaurs, maybe 65 million years ago. If our planet is 4.5 billion years old, wouldn't EVERYTHING be that old? All matter would be the same age on this planet. Living organisms are energy translated to matter apparantly if they are being 'measured' in a way to say we're so old. What if we're measuring something else, that we don't understand yet. There are an infinite number of things that we could potentially 'detect' and absorb into our technologies. As for time, time is infinite as well, time has always been and always will be, far longer than a few billion years have passed by. I'm talking infinite time. We aren't even a blip on the smallest blip you can think of. On the grand scale of things, it's ludicrous to think we are alone in this amazingly infinite existence.According to some physics theory, everything in this universe exists in the same space. Meaning space is just an illusion. And what of time, they say it slows down because of gravity and it's proven to happen around black holes and quasars, what's that mean on the grand scale of things. Or is that just an illusion as well? Our DNA, they say, is the make up of who we are. They say they can manipulate DNA to achieve various results. That it is the programming of life. Well who is to say that an extra-terrestrial influence never dropped by to give our planet's creatures' DNA a reprogramming. That humans may have been a slave race to a greater race, even created by them. Look at the DNA research we're doing. Could one think that one day, we can produce our own programmed organisms? We're already doing it.
  22. What you people are describing is called 'lucid dreaming'. Here's an excerpt from wikipedia: I find when I sleep a full rest of 8 or 10 hours, I tend to lucid dream more. The longer I try to sleep, the more lucid my dreams become. Most of my lucid dreams are re-ocurring dreams. I dream about running from authorities and succeeding by doing everything possible, like stealing helicopters, etc. It's a whole lot of fun running around in my dream from the police. Another dream, I'm usually in the middle of a war against a non-humanoid threat or on some James Bond type of mission, escaping from a facility. The non-humanoid dream, though, isn't a pretty one... the threat is vicious and I'm usually armed with an assault rifle or gun. The human race does not win very often in this dream. The last dream I had like this, mankind had run out of all ammo and I was frantically searching for even a few bullets. I really, really, REALLY hate lucid dreaming about my place of employment. Whatever lucid dream I have, I've awoken with that ghost feeling that I really was somewhere else. If I get shot and I wake up, I hurt where I got shot and many other sensations linger after dreaming. This leads me to believe something on the spiritual level happens when I lucid dream. I think that a spiritual part of me, my soul or whatever, goes to another realm and takes part in life in that realm. Anyone else feel these ghost feelings? Ever realize you're lucid dreaming and can't do anything to wake yourself up? I like flying or being underwater in dreams, but I never seem to actually fly, I merely float up and float back down. It's always frustrating trying to fly in my dreams.
