I would stay clear of .tk since many "pro" or long term users report uncontrolled and sudden ad banner at the top. .tk has been known to place their own ad banner to sites with good web traffic.

What amirborna is trying to say (hopefully next time he will use better terms) is that the total uploading file size is controlled by your forum script.Therefore, without knowing which forum you're using any answer would be in a speculation. If you can tell us which forum script you're using perhaps someone with in depth knowledge of that forum script could give you better answer.

Trap17 hosting members experienced hosting down time yesterday for few hours. I'm wondering if this is the "after-shock" from yesterday.Gamma server is for all free web hosting server for Xisto and Xisto. What happens in Xisto can relate to Xisto and vice versa.I know it's frustrating. All we can do is someone can get it straight quickly enough.

Other hosting providers, if you are with another hosting provider, may not be inclined to offer SQL remote connection.Are you hosted with another Xisto - Web Hosting service? Hosting account cannot be reset; either terminated or try to work as is.Please PM me the files/directories you are trying to delete. Perhaps I can give it a go.

The reasons why Xisto - Support didn't respond are:1) Xisto - Support is currently diverted to maintaining emergency server upgrades (as announced in late May)2) jack_flamer's website was NOT createdOne way to check if your hosting account is properly set is by logging into Manage page and checking your hosting account status.For the reason why jack's account wasn't created properly in the first place is unknown--in the past when a member creates an account while server is facing heavy load a similar situation was created, where the forum would acknowledge HOSTED status with cpanel name but the hosting server was still in cue for hosting account creation.I can reset your HOSTED back to MEMBERS and try creating hosting account again. No need for new application. However, it's unclear if you would need additional 30 credits. I wouldn't know until your forum member group is changed to MEMBERS to know if your hosting credits are in zero or 30.

When you establish a hosting account with Xisto, you can access your cpanel immediately. The only possible reason you wouldn't be is when you have changed nameservers for your TLD (Top Level Domain). Sub-domain accounts by Xisto are immediately accessible upon account setup completion.Before you PM with your domain name, cpanel username and password try enlisting your domain as a TRUSTED SITE in your browser. Be sure to enable cookies and you have to see SECURITY ALERT message box to continue. If you have disabled this alert message or turned it off you cannot log into your cpanel. This setting is a must.You can always reset your browser security level and try it again.

After which this user can have various tools such as web page builder immediately accessible to create a default index page. And all this automatically without admin's manual approval?Yes, there's a PHP based script which can manage user level account creation under a main hosting account. But to let you know that any such application used with Xisto hosting is against AUP.Anyway, you can search on the web and the last I looked at was something called ZDragon or something close to it. What this script does is mimics Reseller's WHM control panel. It allows you to allow or disallow certain hosting features including disk and bandwidth usage quota. If you are looking for such "control" over other accounts the best and reliable way is to get your own reseller's account. With the proper search you can allow hosting service similar to Xisto--automatic hosting account creation as under a subdomain, give cpanel access with set disk/bandwidth quota, access to cgi and other scripts.

Shane Sonnier,One topic regarding you unable to log into your cpanel or Manage page would be enough :lol:As explained in your first topic, try resetting or changing your forum password. You'll need your forum password to get into Manage page. Once in, you will need your hosting credits to change cpanel password.If for some reason you cannot get to Manage page, even after changing your forum password, check to see that you have any special character as a part of your forum password. Use just the alphanumerics and try again.

Even if the domain name resolved properly it will depend on some servers to re-cache and that can cause unstable connection at times. You can sign up for free monitoring service and see if the problem is the actual downtime OR it's just affects your side connection, i.e. your ISP, your region, your country etc. I have submitted an email (not that my email contains any higher priority above others) but hopefully the techs will see it among bazilliions of other emails...

I totally agree! I know hosting members suffered a lot--more than words can say. And equally, technicians suffered as well.

The sentence might have been unjust. And any court case followers can see that this sentencing was to make an example for future cases (hopefully not but you never know these days...).But I cannot help but to express--thank god! Finally a message that someone should take a responsibility for teens of America! And I believe it starts with parents. And when our so called judicial system orders a parent to follow certain procedure, disobeying them is not an option. As a court case perspective this judge had every right to sentence the defendant however the court pleases. If you're on probation for driving without a license the next time you get caught you end up in jail, for example. But does the punishment fit the crime for this father? Should the father pay for his daughter's laziness--if I may call it that? It's hard to say. But the judge "ordered" father "to stay on top of his daughter's education." And by "stay on top" should that mean achieving a result in passing GED? The real question for all CourtTV watchers is this: is the judge up for re-election soon?

sheepdog,Your domain is pup4u dot com? If it's parked or add-on, try detaching it first and then re-park or add-on as jlhaslip and rvalkass mentioned. It worked for me. You'll note that domainname dot com will work while http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ dot com would not. Give about 24 hours and it should right itself.PS pup4u dot com resolves at my end

We are doing our best to categorize them, and if needed branch out its own root, sorting them to suit our members of this forum.The forum itself cannot be modified too much due to customized scripts that runs our free web hosting--The Credit System. And with over 350,000+ posts and over unique double digit thousand visitors per day the forum loading speed takes priority over aesthetic of this forum. But perhaps we can do something about design contests. As long as you have changed your domain's name servers to point to ns.computinghost.com and ns2.computinghost.com you should not have any difficulty.Access your cpanel and go through Add-On domain procedure. It should be self-explanatory. If your cpanel does not allow you to add any Add-On domain then please PM me.
