  1. Well these are technically not point and shoot - but they are top end cameras that will do anything. -- If you've got the money, Ł600 will buy you a Canon EOS 450d. My uncle has it, and it is... BRILLIANT Here are some of the specs: Self cleaning dust removal RAW + JPEG image formats (RAW format is a completely untouched image, so you can make changes yourself) 12.4 megapixels Noise reduction for long exposures 7 white balance settings + custom 8 picture styles 9 Auto Focusing points (you can manually focus these aswell) Automatic focusing point Shutter speed can be from 1/4000 sec to 1/60 sec 3.5 shots per second photo burst Up to 600 photos with one battery (500 with flash) - approx. Check up on the complete list - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ --- Now if you don't have enough money then i would consider the downgraded version which is the 1000d. I am getting for my birthday this year and it costs around Ł300 Here are some of the specs for that: 3 shots per second photo burst 2.5 inch LCD display 10.1 megapixels 7 point autofocus (can be manually focuses also) SDHC (SD High Capacity) 32GB memory support 1/200 shutter speed RAW image support -- As for point and shoot i guess that the Sony CyberShot would be good enough. But im against all those sorts of cameras, you have no control over the imagery and it blurs the images even if you have stabiliser on.
  2. Thats why people go into space - not to test velocity though, but to test how things react without gravity and the forces of the earth.Sadly though you can't do this in space, otherwise you might lose the ball :DThe best thing to practice this on is the moon, since the moon doesnt spin and it has gravity
  3. Well, i guess for many things... Testing out harddrives, formatting them and partitioning them. (for friends) Test bedding PHP, web designing and stuff Flash CS3 (im getting used to it now ) Forumming Msn and social networking Coursework and assessments
  4. What even if im not connected to the internet will it disable the BETA? Or can i still continue using it? -- Anyways your totally right, you've gotta be completely wrong in the head to make Windows 7 your main Operating System. Its completely buggy, it destroys your media and to be frank, I cant stand the theme and how windows displays it. Obviously this is a good workaround, but i dont mind having that "Send feedback" there because i know that im not going to have the OS turned on for more than 10 mins! I maybe just have it on to take some snaps to write a review, but thats just about it really. -- But still, useful (ish) tutorial Regards.
  5. Well ive been with GMail now since 2004 - best service by far. Unlike Yahoo!, Google isnt cluttered and everything is just so incredably neat and tidy. And the great thing about Google Mail is that you can have custom themes with FireFox! Plus aswell there is a mail notifier as a firefox addon too When i joined many years ago Google was only giving out 3GB of space. And now they are giving away 7GB! 3 gig let alone will last you a lifetime. -- However though, i reckon that the Email that you are hosted on many hosts are just perfect - you have full control over them, and you can even create your own webmail
  6. Is it any good? And worth the hugely expensive price?
  7. Camoflage is the best way, and most effective way of turning "invisible". Technically the only way for you to be seen when camoflage is to move.Just an example. I hide liquorice as TV Cabling, now I asked you to go into a room and find some things, everything is visible apart from the liquorice. Now the odds that you will find would be rediculous!
  8. Well, i love my Nokia 6500 (slide) - since i find it really stylish and nice - plus aswell it has a aluminium backing, i guess to prevent the battery, sim card and memory stick. Since everything is compact to the extreme. But my favourite phone has to be either the Nokia N95 or LG Cookie - the LG Cookie is pretty much like the iPhone, but i don't like the iPhone very much, of many reasons... When you get a call your app ends It scratches easily if you don't have a case (or cover) for it The new design (the backing) is horrible and rather quite ugly. The plastic is really tacky, and personally in my opinion the stainless steel (or i think you can get it in brass) backing is HUGELY better Many people have said it has problems of slowness And the LG Cookie has YouTube built in
  9. Its vertical velocity may come to a complete halt - but it is merely impossible for you to throw a ball at 0 degress. Maybe so if you were on a planet with no atmosphere, since you have other effects on it - like the wind, earths spin etc.. In theory, a ball thrown at 0 degrees it will come to a complete stop and come down in the path exactly as it was launched from. But if you went slightly to the left, right up or down then the ball with have an angular path, and will keep its speed. Like in this poorly made image
  10. HTML certainly. Get good at HTML and CSS before you do any server sided programming, since it is essential. There is nothing worse than a website with functions, but there is no design, theming or styling to it. Take a look at my AJAX countdown timer - it only works in firefox (well, but IE works fine) but HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP are the best mix you can get. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  11. Umm - my whole computer was a freebie for me - it was handed down from my dad.I received this computer 6 years ago - so theres no doubt that i have put some things on :DSony Multiscan 200ES (monitor, 1995)DDR 768mb ramA USB 2.0 port - That doesnt work!Removable harddrive case + 5 HDDsDVD DriveAnother CPU fan - since it overheated and the people who i sent it to gave me a free fan :DAND SUPER COOL FLASHY LED LIGHTS!So pretty much the whole of my computer was upgraded for free - but most of it came from my uncle, hes got loads of old stuff
  12. I would LOVE to be a storm chaser!I just cant get enough of thunderstorms - although i sort of live in the UK, where all you get in a storm is just a bolt of lightning and a sprinkle of rain...I reckon being sucked into a tornado would just an amazing experience (i dont actually mean sucked, but you know) and i was thinking i would have done it as a hobby when im older :DDid anybody watch "A very british storm junkie"? That man was a wierdo - but it was cool
  13. Well im 15 - and i weigh 106lbs (52kg). Im not obese (noo.. ) - people actually call me a little skimp, since my wrist is SO thin! But that runs in the family :PWhat i hear from good guides on the web, and if you're commited; track what you are eating for a week, by counting the calories. And for every 1-2 weeks, add 100 calories to your diet. You wont turn fat, since your metabolism is through the roof - just dont do this though if you dont do excersize, since you WILL get fat.All i eat though, if you dont want to do all that, is just eat pasta and lasagna. And dont forget the potatoes!Carbohydrates is for the energy you need, to do the workouts. And starch is for muscle building. Pasta contains loads of the both, but potatoes contains loads of starch. And as for the exersizing - well just go swimming every week, ride your bike, press ups and sit-ups.--And yeah dont forget - your trying to gain weight here, you can have chips, burgers and what nots!
  14. Hmmmm, thats interesting....But im still sticking to Firefox - nothing will make me move away from it
  15. Well i changed the values to 10 - since thats how many i have on uTorrent. It didnt speed it up by much.If your wanting to modify your registry and go through all that trouble - why doesn't everybody just get FireFox?
  16. Well technically, as the artic melts, the jet stream changes. And as for a melting ice cap - well, just remember that it is still polar, there will ALWAYS be ice, and it will still be below 50 in the air.It doesnt have to be below freezing on the ground, but this is basically how a mini ice age starts. Sea is warmed -> Evapourates -> Freezes in the air -> Falls as snow -> More is evapourated -> More snow And eventually, this process repeats, and the snow will build up again. The snow will cool the hemisphere, and more snow will be dumped - and it spreads far and beyond. Scientists already say that this process may have already started - since 3 inches of snow was recorded in northern spain, 3 feet of snow in northern uk and -22C was an all time low in Scotland in January. Earth is running out of resources With the huge population, humans use too much resources for their own good and soon this resources will run out, what will we do then? We cant help war - this is maybe a good thing also - it keeps the population in control. Exactly - in the early 20th century, schools were teaching life skills - for example, women were taught to garden; trim hedges; clean properly and basically the house work. There were obviously mathematics, but it isnt as intensive as today. Well no, the average age now for a 1st world country is 70-80. Which is far more than 100 years ago. People in england in the 19th century only lived to the age of 50, maybe less.People in the 15-16 century didnt even live to 30. You believe in this stuff? The closest planet that MAY have life forms is roughly 10 million light years away. I was watching this program a couple of weeks ago about life based planets, and infact they are that far away, that they use frequencies to detect orbits that may be of a close range to there star. Plant trees in the desert OR lay out a HUGE white mat that covers the artic. It will preserve the arctic, and slow down heating. -- The world is going through its natural life cycle, and infact, humans have lived through an ice age, a meteor impact (evidence was found by mysterious caves in america), a super volcanoe and hundreds of other volcanoes. Personally, i think that 0.5% of the world will survive an iceage. 0.5% sounds tiny, but thats a rediculously huge number still - if one was to happen today, 30 million people would survive it. Thats the UK pretty much (substract 20 million ) IMO also - the world is dieing from all the technology! 90s were awesome, and i'd expect that everybody here would like to live their lives in the 80s and 90s. wouldnt they? -- Hydrogen fueled cars are just as bad as fossil fuels! Now whats the product of burning hydrogen? Water! Now what is the cause of storms? Clouds! Now how can we control the weather? We can't! Hydrogen cells are the worst invention somebody has come to terms of - so what if we have an unlimited supply. It still produces heat, and it is incredibly dangerous. Just to point out - Carbon is black, white smoke is NOT smoke at all. Powerstations are quite eco of the emissions, and the smoke you see coming out of it is actually STEAM. And steam is bad!
  17. hmm that is a good site I used my special binary counting skills and i managed to make a colour that worked from binary
  18. Well anyway if they don't work, then whats the point of screaming and crying out that they don't work? Why can't they just go through the sourcecode and find the errors themselves, and help the community (and the topic maker) by pointing out by saying "Oh $var should have been $var2 on line 53" like so.Its what i do, and many people give me credit for it
  19. Well ill be darned - i was always told to warm up batteries (AA's im on about) to get a teeny bit more juice out of them. Like rubbing them in the hands, placing in your pockets as such. My laptop battery currently has 4:38 hours left and it is at 95%. Here i have some tips, on how to maximise the potential of your battery life. Use an older Operating System like Windows XP or Windows 98/2000 - they are less resource hungry, thus consuming less power If you are going to use windows xp or vista, make sure you have the "Windows Classic" theme in place, it uses less on your graphics card + aswell make it more performance Dont charge until you have 5-10% life left. DIM your screen to the minimum! Dont have so many windows open at once Try to aim for 30 processes if you are on windows 98/2000 - <50 on xp - and <70 on vista Clear the garbage from your harddrive, aswell as regularly defragmenting. This also increases the life of your harddrive. Buy bigger RAM! - Bigger RAM wont give as much stress and load as the smaller ones Use earphones or low energy headphones rather than the speakers Make sure you are using the "Maximum battery" option if you are using vista Unplug unused USBs! Ill add more to this list
  20. 1) What online radio do you use? Fox FM2) What search engine do you use the most? Google3) What do you use the internet for mostly? Foruming, Weather checking, PHP4) How long do you spend on the internet? About 2-3 hours a day :D5) Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider, AOL ect..)? Virgin media6) Do you have your own website? Yes - 1 and 3 aliases
  21. @Ash - Ubuntu rules over RH - but Red Hat Enterprise is the BEST server os out there, you can get the desktop version too incase you are not very good with commands. RHE is around Ł400-Ł500. Expensive i know, but its worth it if you are going all out. -- Kaspersky i think is only for windows, if there is a linux version then GREAT - but i dont think there are any virus softwares for linux. But i dont think you need virus protection if you are going to host a website just for 20-30 people, since they wont know how to hack, and linux is nearly impossible to hack into without a PHP script. I dont think there is actually any way to get into a linux system by browsing the web or such, i think they are mainly injected by uploaders.
  22. Well its not funny to the people - but its hilarious to laugh at microsoft though
  23. So when a terrorist strikes, we all switch to linux and everybody is saved? Lol, no - i dont think they are like terrorists, but certainly, hackers and virus dumpers dont have a life - and all they think about is ruining peoples pc's. Microsoft are just crap at protecting people - they care too much on the xbox and their games + dont forget the crappy VSE2008 they made. Why, look at linux! Microsoft doesnt allow ANYONE to help make windows better, only if you work in their department - and with linux, ANYBODY can go through the sourcecode and catch out holes and glitches where bugs may get in. And lets not forget that it has awesome themes. So its Microsoft who is in trouble, and we should blame them - if they dont let us help in making it better then im afraid that they are going to have some downy comments on them. I hate windows, total waste of time - they have pointless versions of their OS'. Like whats the point in having a Basic, Homepremium, Ultimate and Business? I mean, Ultimate isnt worth the extra Ł150 on top of HP - there are no security benefits, and there are only a couple more nifty gizmos on there, which anybody could make!
  24. If you want to have host like this, first of all you need a VERY good upload speed - and you are looking into the range of >100mb/s. However - if you are specifically targeting say, a local school, or its a community website for a group - then the standard 5mb is good enough, since everybody is local. The wider the audience (globally) the more upload speed you need, since then you will get better ping responses say from Australia.--Any computer is good enough to make into a hosting computer, however, a specifically designed server is better than the standard desktop since it has a better architecture (viruses will find it harder to get in) and it is designed to be on all the time without the wear-n-tear.Also some more tips:Faster ram = faster page loadBigger bandwidth = more visitorsFaster upload speed = better page load times, better pings, bigger audienceMore CPU = faster page load AND quicker database queriesCleaner environment = less risk of dust build up < or fire!Connectivity = NEVER use wifi for a connection, wifi is still pretty much lacking technology - it disconnects and reconnects when it wants to; they get hot really easily; USB consumes more power; wifi is slow and unreliable.--Consider purchasing Windows 2003 or Linux RHE if you got loads of dosh! if you are going to the extreme and making a hosting company thing
  25. I was just using it as an example to say that school is boring and crap, but in a nice way ofcourse Ofcourse i do, but its always raining -- School is the best part of our lives, trust me
