  1. 72 degree here today, actually worked in the yard some today!sheepdog, the worm bin is made from a single sheet of 5/8 plywood and an 8 foot 2x4. The top and bottom are 2ft x 4ft and the 2x4 goes in the corners to brace it.I got the plans off the net and I'll be happy to look them up if you're interested. I had all the stuff already so it was basically free for me.
  2. RS, maybe I can help...I owned my own exhaust shop for 6 years. (Don't Ask!)The flex tube is a section up close to the engine that is made of braided stainless steel. It's designed to "give" when the car encounters vibrations to keep from possibly breaking the exhaust somewhere else. Unfortunately, it is also usually the first place to break! The pop can and the wire deal won't work here because the exhaust is still very hot at that point in the exhaust pipe and it'll burn through that lighweight aluminum in a week or so. I'm thinking that a good exhaust man can bend a short piece of pipe and weld in there for around $30-40 Dollars, if you can get them to do it. They would much rather sell you the part....The exhaust leak could be what's causing the car to sputter, I've seen it happen dozens of times. You won't know till you get the exhaust fixed. And yes, you can repair the shock mount with some welding, just leave yourself some way to mount a new shock! Don't weld the shock to the car for obvious reasons.Hope that helps.
  3. I was never able to catch ping-o-matic up and running, every time I went there it was down. Ipings has been up every time except once and pingoat is pretty reliable as well. They all three basically accomplish the same thing.I've noticed that although most of my stuff doesn't go over the top at digg, I do get a boost from it when I use it. Two other social bookmarking sites I use are propeller and zimbio. All three of these has made it to the first page of google in my narrow niche.
  4. This time of year is crazy here in the carolina's. It gets down to 25 degrees at night and then it's 65 degrees the next day! My mother used to say that was the best time of the year to catch cold because of the temperature extremes!Anyhow, I opened the lid on my worm bin today to let it warm up a bit after a brutally cold night and noticed that I have small plants germinating inside! Maybe I found a good place to start my vegetables for the spring garden!I realize there are people here from all over the world, different climates and such, but is anyone else starting their garden yet?I noticed my garlic bulbs are starting to shoot up out of the ground so spring can't be far behind!Steve
  5. I've got a LARGE Red mixed breed dog and 10 cats, mostly solid white.Rusty has a couple of the cats that he really likes to play with but he loves to chase them all as his favorite game. He's got a bit of cat in him as well, sometimes when i pet him he has this low growl that sounds for all the world like he's purring <_<I've never been able to obedience train the big baby because for all his size, he still cowers when you tell him no. But he seems to understand when I just talk to him so we get along pretty good!
  6. Another month has passed and I've really got the fever! It was in the 60's (F) here today and should be close to 70 tomorrow! Time to get the tiller and the mower out and service them and start thinking about starting some seeds inside to transplant out. Man, I can't wait!
  7. I have a 1989 Nissan 300zx that I drive to work and back, try to drive my mothers buick if I can to keep the miles off of it, but it gets pretty good gas mileage if you can resist the urge to speed! <_<I also have a 1969 Ford F-100 pickup that I'm restoring slowly but it's mostly a work truck when I can afford to haul something in it. It has a 390 cubic inch engine with a 4 barrel carb so I have to plan my trips!
  8. 10 million affiliates all selling the same thing....Please tell us how you expect to make any money offering the same thing that 10 million other people are selling??I'd much rather find an affiliate product in a niche with only a few thousand competitors. Do some "long tail" keyword research and find some products to sell to a few people.I reached the first page of google for something I'd never heard of before. Now it's one of my favorite hobbies!Nothing like making money doing something you enjoy!
  9. The best site to make money on is YOURS!Find something you know about and either sell an affiliate product or come up with a report or product of your own and then promote it.All these scam sites that pay you to take surveys or pay you .000001 cent for every email you read are all a bunch of crap.
  10. Is the Gimp software compatible with Photoshop?I'm running a trial version of Photoshop and I'll have to buy something soon, just wondering if Gimp can use the same file types and do most of the same things as Photoshop?Steve
  11. I just go to http://digg.com/ and login and then add my stuff or my blogs. They'll ask you for the name, the URL, and a brief description. Have a short informative description written out before you get there because that is what will show up in the search engines as the description. If you have a blog, go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and/or http://www.pingoat.com/ and ping it to technorati and about 25 other places at the same time! This gets the word out and also triggers the searchbots to come and have a look. I put together a site the other night and did this and then went to digg and added it and by the time I checked the next day the site and the digg description were both already rated by google! Steve
  12. That's definitely a "mini-guide" ! It's actually quite a bit more involved than that, but it can work out well if you take the time to find a reputable supplier. The secret in drop-shipping is to find someone at the supplier that you can contact by phone and establish a working relationship with. If they don't have a "live" help desk, that's a red flag and you should keep looking.I'm actually doing a lot of research into this right now, so keep me posted on how it works out for you.Steve
  13. I set up the PHPBB on my site. All you have to do is go to the cPanel and click (double click?) on the PHPBB and then follow the instructions. If you want it in a separate directory and not in the root for the site, you will have to give it a name. (i.e. xxxxxx.trap17.com/forum) Just don't use the "/" when filling in the box where it asks for it.The system will set it up for you, just be sure and write down the names of the files it creates and email them to yourself for reference. Then you just go to xxxxxx.trap17.com/forum/admin.php or whatever it says and start managing your forum.Steve
  14. Another possibility would be to use a good search tool and see what the people who are searching for Chantelle Paige are searching for other than just "Chantelle Paige".I don't know who CP is but lets assume an actor. People could be searching for "CP's latest movie" or "CP as Joe Blow in The Shooters" or "CP oscar nomination".....It's better to come up first in the search for a lesser used search term than to be buried on page 6.For example, I found a hobby that I like and some items to sell to these guys. I could never come up first for the hobby itself but as luck would have it the second most popular search term gets almost as many searches each day with a lot less competition. I set up a small website last night and looked this afternoon and I'm on page one of google search. The site itself can still be a general fan site for Chantelle Paige, just get some pages in there that are keyed to specific search terms.
  15. The best advertising for your site is your own. Find something to sell like an affiliate product. I do quite well with them on my niche sites.Pop-ups, Pop-unders, Banners, just aggravate your site visitors. Why go to all the trouble of getting someone to your website and then tick them off with crap like that? There are some really good affiliate products out there and chances are you will be able to find one that you can market on your site if you look hard enough.Steve
  16. Just an idea mind you, a lot depends on what you will be using the site for.I'm blogging with WordPress at one of my other sites and since I had to learn WordPress anyway I just put my site together with WP and a template that gave me a center column and two side columns and made a Website with that. There's a lot of stuff available for WP and the learning curve is pretty easy.I'm working on all that other stuff cause I'll need it soon enough, but WordPress was the easiest way for me to get started quick.
  17. How can you make money at 1 cent per click?Get a life and start a business online....If you rely on all that penny a click stuff you are going to be clicking 500 times a day for $5.00There are third world nations that make more than that......Try online affiliate marketing or even the old standby bum marketing...at least you have a product to sell to others....click my butt!
  18. Your request is a little vague! What would you like help with? There is a lot to know if you are not used to developing a website. What is it you would lke to do?
  19. The best links are from other sites that have similar content to yours and preferably a higher Page Rank. I try to make time each day to find at least a couple and make a post about a topic that I either have a good question about or can add a little good information.A couple doesn't sound like much but that's a lot of searching if you want good links. With all the blogs using the "no follow" code now, even a good looking blog may be little value in the search engines.
  20. I just have set up my PayPal, but if i get some money in it before you get a reply I'll help you out.I also want to get set up with Payloadz very soon but will have to make time to study it a little more first.Do you sell ebooks and digital products?Steve
  21. I've had a chance to get more familiar with it since I first asked and I see what you mean about not using much of it.I did use Fantastico to set up some wordpress blogs and then updated them with file manager and Firezilla. I have also set up my email accounts through the mail function, which was interesting.I've been mostly learning all about wordpress and thinking about using that for the website as well as the blogs. Notice from rvalkass: Merged accidental double post.
  22. This is taken from an article I am working on about SEO strategies. The importance of content and links in the design of your pages: Google's search algorithm goes far beyond the number of times a keyword or term appears on your pages. It looks at many aspects of the page's content to determine if relevant keywords are combined with a rich source of relevant information to reinforce the subject matter of your page. Webmasters can improve the PageRank of their sites by increasing the volume of high-quality, relevant sites that link to their pages. Links from sites that are themselves important and related to your content weigh more heavily in improving your rank than those that are poorly ranked or don't match the content of your site. Avoid link 'schemes' or large numbers of links that are not relevant to your content. Create an informative site with pages that clearly describe your subject. Use words that users would use to find your pages and write for the human reader. Use text instead of images to support and display important content and links. Avoid hidden text or links and do not use cloaking or redirects. Make pages for users and not search engines. Make sure that each page is reachable from at least one static link from another page and that there are no broken internal links, but keep the number of links to a reasonable number. Have a clear page heirarchy that flows from one idea to another between pages. Avoid duplicate content on multipe pages or within subdomains and avoid so-called doorway pages. Affiliate Marketers If your site is intended for affiliate marketing make sure it adds value by providing unique and relevant content. Avoid "cookie cutter" approaches that provide little original information. Concentrate on creating product reviews or ratings and comparisons. Avoid automatically generated content as these pages often consist of random paragraphs of nonsense that is keyword rich but means little to the person reading them. Likewise, avoid 'scraping' text from other more reputable sites just to increase the volume of content. It is well worth the time and effort to create content that sets your site apart. Not only will it provide good search results and higher rankings, but it will instill trust in your visitors and keep them returning again and again. Hope that helps someone. (BTW...this is my original material and not copied)
  23. I updated my wordpress version and installed the adsense plug-in but can't seem to figure out how to get it to display the ads in my blog.Has anyone had any experience with this or have any ideas?
  24. It looks as though the Fed decided to cut the Fed Funds rate and the discount funds rate. It reminds me of the old saying "barring the barn door after the horse is already out". Although some hope this will drive down mortgage rates, the fed has no control over mortgage rates. It will be more likely to affect credit card and auto loan rates which are tied to the discount rate .The Fed Funds rate, which is the amount banks pay to borrow from each other, was cut from 4.25 to 3.5% while the Discount rate followed suit, going from 4.75-4.00%. Bank of America immediately cut their prime rate and several other banks followed suit. The rate cuts will help ailing banks more than consumers in the short term as even a reduction in mortgage rates will only benefit those with good credit that are able to move in and snatch up some of the bargains in the depressed housing market. The fed is widely expected to make even more rate cuts at their regular meeting coming in less than a week. Meanwhile, the President and Congress can't agree on how much and who should receive their proposed income tax rebate.I for one can't see how this is going to help the deeply troubled US economy. Maybe the HDTV market will benefit if the rebates are large enough
  25. I logged into my CPanel and briefly studied the various modules available and decided I was going to install drupal. When I tried to I got this message "- You chose to install in the main directory of the domain internet-marketing.trap17.com, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain internet-marketing.trap17.com (path="/home/XXXXXXXX/public_html/").You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation: images" Exactly what do I do now? http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Notice from jlhaslip: Edit title to correctly identify the Topic
