Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail Whos winning the battle?
pyost replied to jcguy's topic in Websites and Web Designing
My first free EMail service was yahoo, but I stopped using it shortly after I started. Then I transfered to Hotmail, because I needed it for using MSN Messenger. As the matter of fact, I still use it, but I get only spam. Recently, I had to delete most of my messages (the ones that I got before I stopped using it for emailing) because I was nearing my 4MB storage limit I was also annoyed because the hotmail web site was filled with ads and it wasn't easy to find something you needed. And then GMail appearedIt is absolutely the best service, and not only because of it's big storage. It has no ads, it's is really simple, and it also has a messenger. GTalk is really great, because it is also simple. The only flaw is that it doesn't work with Win98, which some people still use (I think it doesn't work...). But besides that, Google provides the best service when talking about email -

I'm not sure, but I think everything should work the same as before. The ordinary Windows XP look is already really demanding, and this one is pretty much the same. But even if it does, it's not noticable.

Maybe I'm dumb, but I can't find anything freeware that I could use. A direct link to smth like that could help

I would reccomend you Total Commander, but I think it's not freeware, and messing with archives isn't its primary function. Nevertheless, it can open (almost) any sort of packed file, and also pack files, with a lot of options. On the other hand, it has some problems with password protected archives. Even if you enter the right password, it says file not found, so I use WinZip for the ones with the password.

Just Finished This Sig & Avatar best from me so far
pyost replied to mayank's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Wow man, it's so nice. Pleasent for the eyes and the mind :DThe only thing I don't like are the sides of both the signature and avatar. The bottom and the top are nice with the transparent black part, but the sides look a bit unfinished - maybe it's just me... -
I have googled but wasn't able to find exactly what I need. Maybe you'll be able to help.I am looking for a program that immitates drums. I am playing the guitar (acoustic) and I need something for the rhythm. I don't need a variety of different drums, but to be able to set the beat.I hope that you know something that I could use.

I started using OpenOffice a month ago and I downloaded the 2.0 version. I had some serious problems with Micro$oft Word - it couldn't open some files I saved myself!! Even Total Commander couldn't open those files, and still can't (File not found!).But when I installed OpenOffice, it opened them instantly. I had some difficulties to adjust, but after half an hour I started loving all the possiblities, especially the PDF convertiong thing - much better to use pdf than pps for presentations...Great program. It made think about transfering to Linux I'm downloading Mandriva at the moment.

Oh man, this is great! Even though it can be seen in Windows Explorer if you select everything, Total Commander doesn't see it  I am not quite sure how can this be possible, but I guess you won't tell us any details (if you know) Anyway, if there was karme here, you would get one point more from me.

Tastes Of Music what kind of music do you like?
pyost replied to palestranger's topic in General Discussion
I listen to Coldplay the most, and after that Oasis and Radiohead a bit. I guess that is alternative rock. -
Interesting question.I don't develop extreme love towards input devices, but I am quite keen on my (old) keyboard. When I got my firts computer, it had a Cherry keyboard, which aren't made anymore (sadly). It was really good quality and served me well for about ten years. Can you imagine that? Ten years with the same keyboard! It was filled with food and a bit with orange juice that I spilled once. Yet again, it worked perfectly (except the Shift button, that got stuck all the time).Oh yes, those were the good times. But about a month ago, I finally got a new keyboard. This time it is a Genius SlimStar keyboard. I already love it, especially because it's the laptop type keyboard. It's the best feeling of all

I hot very unlucky with this web site I played over and over again, until I finally got 5 euros, and that my friend made me spend them one the most expensive challenge. And of course, I lost it all. But that was actually good. Now I don't play it every day in order to get money, I play it only when I know I would enjoy it. I've gathered a bit more than 4 euros, without even noticing it.After some time, it does get boring, but I can assure you that you will return to it when you least expect it. And then, you will earn money without even thinking of it.

Do You Run A Forum-website Forum-Website Poll
pyost replied to Harry1984a's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yeah, I'm running my own forum. First I started with a preinstalled forum, such as InvisionFree. It was good, but it died after some time. It is quite rare for those kinds of forums to be lively. Especially if it's not in a major language, such as English. Since my first forum I have advanced a lot. Now I have my own site with a forum that I have installed myself. All the admin work isn't easy, but I don't expect to have many problems with the future members. I am also the administrator on another forum which is bigger, and there were some problems, but the team has managed to solve them.As for the law, I think it's always best to put something like this in the 'I agree' part when you register."This forum is not responsible for any of the posts, since those are the work of other members" But of course, you have to be careful... -
I find The Sims 2 waaaay better then the first part and the numerous expansions. The original was great, a real revolution - and good enough for the time when it was created. But now, there had to be made something that would continue the glory. There were many things that were improved. The character creating is now much more interesting and with much more options. The graphics are better, and the variety makes it more interesting. A must play, if you ask me.

I strongly disagree! First I used IE and it was awful! It kept crashing and couldn't open some web sites. Then I swithced to FireFox, which turned out to be MUCH faster in terms of the program speed. It was with 1024x768. Now I work on 1280x1024 and usually with more than three tabs and it's doing great. Firefox is just the best...

Well, why not try pinging Xisto?I am not into the using of IP addresses, but I know that you can get one if you run the command prompt and then type in "ping http://forums.xisto.com/ course, this is if you use Windows.

I agree with you on that one. I have played every Need for Spped part since the third one, and this one is... Just beautiful (but cannot be compared to Coldplay music ). The graphics, the cars, the adrenaline, everything is great. NFS is slowly evolving and I like it!

I have installed a Spoiler Tag mod, but this hasn't been working from the beginning. Besides that mod, I haven't installed anything else. I have messed with the file that contains this code, but only to try some advice I was given. Unfortunatelly, it didn't work, and it still isn't. I have been told that there is an error in the code itself, but none of the suggestions helped.

The forum I administrate work just fine, but there is just one problem. The board version is 1.3, and the error occurs when I click the moderating team link. Here's what I get: And then it says: I have heard many advice waht to do, but nothing worked. Can you guys help?

Don't know if this has been here, because the searh didn't work, don't know why. Anyway, here it is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I read that a long time ago, but a friend reminded me of that today, so I thought it would be nice to cheer up the others This is a real story about a "dangerous" hacker. Actually, it was a cracker, but everybody uses the hacker term for them nowadays. This real story is about a cracker who wanted to format someone's HDD with a program he had... It didn't work Check out the link and tell me what you think about the story!

How Many Is Too Many Hard Drives completely and utterly overloaded
pyost replied to ebbinger_413's topic in Hardware Workshop
I, myself, have only two in my case, of which one is not connected at all The connected one is 40GB, which is really not enough for me, so I'll probably get a 200GB one. But check this out. My ISP has a local dc++ hub and one of the operators in that hub has a GIGANTIC share - 1.3TB! Yes, you read well, 1.3 TB!!! He has a lot of HDs connected and also has a shelf with hard drives Here's a pic of his cases http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -
I use it, it's quite good, but there's one thing that is quite annoying. The minimize, maximize and close buttons go over each other. Someteimes it happens that I miss the one I want to press and then...Maybe that's been solved in a newer version, I don't know. But the theme itslef is really good!

If you want to be engaged in something bigger, there is a project that might interest you. A friend of mine has decided to make a free MMORPG, but not a simple one, such as Runescape (I'm not saying it's not good), but something like Guild Wars. So, anyone who knows something with game making should contact him. But, don't except any pays, because the game will be completely free, just like RoseOn. You can visit the official web site at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, and there is alo a forum. And if you wonder why is it called Singidunum, here's why. The capital of the country we live (Serbia & Montenegro) is called Belgrade. In the past, when the Roman Empire was enormous (BC period), Belgrade was called Singidunum So there you have it.

pyost replied to half1405241509's topic in Science and Technology
Maybe he had a tube going from his penis to the bathroom Just kidding :)He probably did go to the bathroom, but 50 hours is too much! People must sleep, eat and drink. And it's not good for your eyes either
