  1. Google is the best because it's got a recognizable name and logo, a simple and intuitive homepage, great results, a good algorithm, and many other services. Until someone can match Google's great service and simplicity, it will stay number #1 in terms of search engines.
  2. I'm not sure I understand. You bought a game system, you took poor care of it, and bought two boring games for it. So, you're blaming that on the system?
  3. I think it is definitely worth buying. It's combination of fun, innovation, and a large game library (343+ games) is unbeatable. I was going to get one for Christmas, but I had a computer failure so I need to replace that instead.
  4. You could run a boot-time scan with an anti-virus (like avast! mentioned earlier). Alternatively, you could take care of your computer, and not get it infested with malware. Just a thought. deepod: I recommend NOD32. It's free, and it's very good. AVG has horrible heuristics. Basically, if it encounters something it recognizes as being malware, but can't identify it, it's not very good at stopping whatever that malware is trying to do to your PC.
  5. The government (in general) is NOT monitoring your daily web browsing habits. Sure, if you're doing illegal things (that are detectable without violating your rights) your ISP might very well tip off the government and they'll come knocking at your door. There's most certainly not some middle-aged suit in an office watching you post on these forums, however.
  6. For WYSIWYG I recommend TinyMCE. It's certainly the WYSIWYG industry standard. For Content Management I'd say go with CuteNews. A license costs 20 bucks, but it's very versatile and integrates in a snap. For RSS Integration, I'd go with the following: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -- It isn't a pre-coded software, but it's probably the best method for displaying an RSS feed. It's built directly into PHP so it's undoubtedly efficient, and it shouldn't be too hard to implement.
  7. Well, I don't actually use an anti-virus (no use for it), but the two best anti-virus programs are Kaspersky and NOD32. Kaspersky has better definitions, but it scans slower. NOD32 scans faster, but it's definitions aren't quite as good. If I were to install an anti-virus (peh, like that would happen), it would be NOD32 -- only because I'm impatient.
  8. In general the browser speed ranks usually end up looking something like this: 1. KHTML/WebKit (Safari, Konqueror, Swift, etc.) 2. Opera 3. Triton (Internet Explorer series) 4. Gecko (Firefox, Dillo, K-Meleon) It's worth noting that that the ranks for rendering accuracy are quite different, looking something like this: 1. Opera 2. Gecko 3. KHTML/WebKit (the difference between it and Opera is closing very fast, however) 4. Triton If Triton was put inside of a secure browser, and they patched up the rendering problems it has, it would be a very good engine.
