Time viewing--past only, using technologyTime ViewingTo anyone who reads this: I'm a reasonably intelligent individual who never had much interest in the math or science fields (more of a right-brained guy, I guess). Still, in recent years (maybe as a result of getting older), I've taken an interest in the potential reality of time viewing, and have come up with some hypotheses. Just bear in mind that I'm a layman, and don't worry about telling me all of the reasons my theories wouldn't work. This is more for the curious sort who stumbles across this post and has a mutual interest in the subject. Here goes.On the surface, it can be readily agreed that time viewing does exist, in a manner of speaking. For the past, not the future (since the future hasn't happened; it can be calculated to a tiny degree, but not actually witnessed--until it happens). If I were to ask you what Charlie Chaplin looks like, you could give me a brief description (hat, cane, mustache, baggy pants, etc), if for no other reason than the technology exists to have immortalized that image for you. Since he died in the 1970's (in France, I think), it's reasonable to assume that no one reading this post ever met him, and even if they did, it wouldn't be the "Little Tramp" image preserved from the silent era with which we're all familiar.I say that to say this: the technology to preserve Chaplin's image from nearly a century ago was always there, as was the image itself; it had only to be discovered and used. Now, stay with me here. In my hobbyist reading and research, I came across an anecdote about an inventor named John Logie Baird who, among other achievements (look him up), tinkered with night-vision photography, a version of which, some years later, was found to be able to take pictures of things that weren't there anymore.I'll say that again: the camera took pictures of things that were no longer there. Here is an online copy of the book (some of it) in which I read this story: book is called "Breaking the Time Barrier" by Jenny Randles. I haven't been able to find any more details about the accidental experiment at Eglin AFB, but I wish I could, because it absolutely blows my mind. When I read that the incident took place in the 1950's, I wondered how it was that the technology wasn't immediately pursued and developed to aid in crime-solving and similar applications (a la "Minority Report" only using this technology instead of psychics). For all I know, the "gubmint" did pursue it, and they are hoarding the device in an underground bunker in Virginia somewhere. But I digress. I started thinking about the concept of photographing or otherwise viewing an object or event based on the signature, reflection or what-have-you. I started wondering if it would be possible to build a mirror that worked on a time delay. I know that some exist, and that they are basically video cameras with delayed monitors. They are novelties: arthouse exhibits.I'm talking about figuring out a way to bend the lens just so...Making it so that it somehow traps the light, slows it down, makes the reflection appear a second or two (or ten) after the image is cast upon it. If it were possible to manipulate glass, refracted lenses, lasers, etc, etc (again, I'm not a tech guy) so that the light reflecting the image slowed down enough, it would literally be a window into the past. And, the more bent or refracted or what-have-you the lens was, the further back in time the image would go.Now, one immediate hiccup comes to mind: if you could construct such a device, it would only reflect things that happened since its construction. If you built it on 2/14/10, you couldn't adjust it to play the events of 2/14/09.However, events are reflected in many different sources: water in a nearby lake, shiny metal or glass nearby, maybe even volcanic rock in a mountain, or the very water molecules in the air. The light from the stars in the sky we see is thousands or millions of years old. If aliens had a powerful enough scope, they could see what what was happening on a given point on our planet right now, or ten years ago, or fifteen years, eight months, five days, six minutes, etc.So, in order for us to view such reflections of our planet from our planet, we would have to a) place a mirror a couple of zillion miles away, or build the right kind of viewing device, based on the notion that whatever event took place bounced off of nearby spoon, then into space, hit the moon like a big pizza pie, yadda yadda. If I were better at science I think I could explain this better (or at least see the flaws in it). Like I said, I'm not particularly interested in hearing why it wouldn't work, especially since the internet is notorious for attracting smug, cruel know-it-alls who can't wait to tell somebody else they're an idiot. Just enjoy the theory; maybe you can figure out a way to make it work.-reply by Jim Kirk

I say that nfs carbon is that best racing games ever next to hot pursuit 2 and undercover. Undercover is fun and all but cant do half the **** to the cops on undercover like u can on carbon. The only reason I like pursuit2 is cause u can drive the McLaren F1 and L1. Undercover is great to even though it takes to long to unlock parts and it has a pretty short story. But the positive about undercover is the wide range of cars on the game. The best customizable games is midnight club l.A. U can do lots of **** on that game. My favorite things is the rate my ride thing and buy other racers cars. U can do some pretty crazy azz vinyls on that game. -reply by Mike

Any Confirmed Money Making Schemes? Do any of them out there work?
iGuest replied to Mark7805's topic in Business Forum
Not A get Rich Quick Scheme, Just some hard work and a bit of time.Any Confirmed Money Making Schemes?Replying to Mark7805I use an estore template system to sell products online. It's not a get rich scheme - I have not gotten rich, but I DO work from home now. The idea is that you have this one awesome estore template (you have to buy - but looks really good), and you get real wholesale sources. You then use the template to sell the wholesale products. So far I am really happy with everything. I sell the products on ebay and advertise my store using google cost-per-click.I am not getting paid to say this. Just thouhgt I'd share my experience. The site is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -
Best Way To Transfer Files I just bought a laptop
iGuest replied to disneyreporter's topic in Science and Technology
Networking Xp and VistaBest Way To Transfer FilesTo network xp and vista make sure you have service pack 3 on the xp computer and change the workgroup to the same as the vista pc and then you should be able to see the xp computer on your laptop. All you have to do from there is share the music folder with the rest of the network and you can just copy the files over. The reason for the upgrade to sp3 is that vista uses a different way of communicating with other pcs that is not integrated in xp until you upgrade to sp3. Good Luck -reply by Mike George -
ps3 is almost worth the money and true gamers will fork the cash for it over it's got the best graphics and processing ability. The 360 may be cheaper but it lags from overprocessing whenever there's an explosion and for any extra stuff like online play you have to pay while for ps3 it's free. The wii is a fail for any gamer -reply by gamer94

What a wasteOld Computer As A Router? To all of those using an old PC as a router... Really? I mean Really? A computer as a router. Great so take a very old one by modern standards and what does it have... A 300watt PS? What a waste of electricity for no added security. And additionally, there is not that much to route. Say you get the cable modem with 16Mbps, there are very cheap routers out there with great firewalls to handle 300Mbps. (Which is beyond what your ISP is providing you anyway.) Even a top end router that gives higher privilages to Gaming Packets only costs $90. I guess I could jump on the bandwagon of super routing too. Instead I will just hang three 90 watt lightbulbs up and burn them 24hours a day so I can use as much power as you do using an old PC as a router. Why not use a router from Walmart and spend the rest of the money you waste on electricty for a grow bulb for Pot? (Because, I know you are high for using a PC as a router.) -reply by Huey

Prime number generationPrime Number GeneratorLast weekend I was thinking about something else completley when I came up with a prime number generator schema. (Well I was thinking of prime numbers and their relationship with irrational numbers, it's a long story.) I would take say a megabyte string of ascii 0s, throw in a 1 at position 2 and multiply that 2 by every number between 2 and 500000 flipping the ascii 0 to a 1 for all those positions. The next 0 after the 2nd position will be a prime. report that position 3 and do the same thing to it. The next 0 after the 3rd position will be a prime 5. As it goes into higher numbers it actually speeds up. Fewer multiplications are required to reach the million mark. Continue doing this for all numbers until 500000, 500001 cannot be multiplied by 2 and stay under a million. Done. And I am wondering just who's prime number generator have I duplicated? Because I am really not that smart. Anyway I will sit down and design this using ascii byte and maybe not lose intrest before I convert it to nibbles. (nibble because of much more storage space and possible speed up using the CPU registers.) I will check back next week and post the program if it works. -reply by Icecycle

The truth Masturbation - A Psychological Addiction Before I get into the views of compultion and obsession I wanted to point out some things. Law The legal status of masturbation throughout history has varied fromVirtually unlimited acceptance to complete illegality. In a 17thCentury law code for the puritan colony of new haven conneticut "blasphemers, homosexuals and masturbators" were eligible for the death penalty. Health and psychological effects Compulsive masturbation Sigmund Freud argued that every normal child usually experiments with many types of autoerotic sexual stimulation. Social repressions of sexuality reached their peak in the Victorian era when popular authors wrote books threatening young children with mental deficiency or insanity if they indulged in any form of masturbation. There is no scientific evidence of any causative relationship between autoeroticism and any form of mental disorder. Though mentally disturbed persons characteristically show poor judgment in expressing sexuality, this may be understood as a symptom rather than a cause. Masturbating frequently presents no physical, mental or emotional risk in itself, but masturbation can be used to relieve boredom or stress. In either case, as with any "nervous habit", it is more helpful to consider the causes of the boredom or of the stress, rather than try to repress the masturbation. There is some discussion between professionals and other interested parties as to the existence or validity of sexual addictions. Nevertheless, there are lists of warning signs such as when sexual activity affects a person's ability to function in everyday life, or is placing them at risk, for example, of pursuing illegal or destructive activities. Very frequent and compulsive masturbation may be seen as a sign of sexual addiction Benefits It is held in many mental health circles that masturbation can relieve depression, stress and lead to a higher sense of self-worth. Masturbation can also be particularly useful in relationships where one partner wants more sex than the other ? in which case masturbation provides a balancing effect and thus a more harmonious relationship.] Mutual masturbation, the act by which two or more partners stimulate themselves in the presence of each other, allows a couple to reveal the "map to [their] pleasure centers". By watching a partner masturbate, one finds out the methods they use to please him- or herself, allowing each partner to learn exactly how the other enjoys being touched. In 2003, an Australian research team led by Graham Giles of The Cancer Council Australia concluded that frequent masturbation by males appears to help prevent the development of prostate cancer. The study also indicated that this would be more helpful than ejaculation through sexual intercourse because intercourse can transmit diseases that may increase the risk of cancer instead. However, this benefit may be age related. A 2008 study concluded that frequent masturbation, at a rate of about two to seven times a week, between the ages of 20 and 40, is correlated with higher risk of developing prostate cancer. On the other hand, masturbation at a rate of once per week, in one's 50s, was found to be correlated with a lower such risk. A study published in 1997 found an inverse association between death from coronary heart disease and frequency of orgasm even given the risk that myocardial ischaemia and myocardial infarction can be triggered by sexual activity. The association between frequency of orgasm and all cause mortality was also examined using the midpoint of each response category recorded as number of orgasms per year. The age adjusted odds ratio for an increase of 100 orgasms per year was 0.64 (0.44 to 0.95). That is, a difference in mortality appeared between any two subjects when one subject ejaculated at around two times per week more than the other. Assuming a broad range average of between 3 to 5 ejaculations per week for healthy males, this would mean 5 to 7 ejaculations per week. This is consistent with a 2003 Australia article on the benefits against prostate cancer. Masturbation is also seen as a sexual technique that protects individuals from the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases. Support for such a view, and for making it part of the American sex education curriculum, led to the dismissal of US Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders during the Clinton administration. Sexual climax, from masturbation or otherwise, leaves one in a relaxed and contented state. This is frequently followed closely by drowsiness and sleep ? particularly when one masturbates in bed. Some professionals consider masturbation to function as a cardiovascular workout. Blood pressureBoth sex and masturbation lower blood pressure. A small study hasShown that in one test group, recent full intercourse resulted in theLowest average blood pressure in stressful situations. MasturbationThen led to lower blood pressure than did no recent sexual activity In the end it comes down to your own personal preference, beliefs. It is human nature, natural, and normal. -reply by Jacknite3000
