  1. I am interested in becoming an affiliate, the problem is that the uni.cc link you posted doesn't work.
  2. daniel15, now I believe it's scam. I waited until October 1 but nothing happened until now. The website says that it is still under construction.Anyway, yes it is a scam. Believe me.

  4. I just checked out Musicmatch 9 and can say they have gone backwards in some aspects of navigation, they have removed text that use to state what their buttons meant, not everyone understand a picture that means shuffle and it was only till I browsed my cursor over the button that a tool tip bubble popped up saying it was shuffle, why would they do this to their users?I haven't fully tested it out yet, but it seems just like a revamp of version 8.2 so no marginal differences seen by just looking at it apart from a different GUI with buttons that don't state what they are.MusicMatch is still a good Music Player, but a lot of features it has is not understandable by most and it could cause problems if setup/altered incorrectly. I recommend it over Media Player for Music anyday, WMP just takes the cake in confusing software and since MS cater to shareholders rather than users, what else do you expect?Cheers, MC
  5. INI stands for initialisation, which is a file extension used on text files which is commonly used to set default program variables at the start of a program when executed. This will let the program that uses this ini file to know certain things it should be performed, a common windows .ini file would be the boot.ini where you setup the booting section partitions, how long it times out etc. Cheers, MC
  6. Alright all, I'm very proud of this graphic and thought that I would get your opinions on it. This image is the new logo for my site. I've already got it up on the front page of my site (which is all I have done at the moment). It took me a bit of time to create this thing and I would love to see what you think of it... The link to my site is below my sig for those of you who wish to comment on it... Thanks all, -- J.
  7. Actually, http: is needed, it defines the default port for that protocol to be used. Your browser settings however or registry settings state that if it's not there, then it will include it as the default, unless you've change this setting. It's only minimal speed difference. Things that affect the speed can be proven by just typing the name Xisto in the browser, this means your computer has to include http:// to the address as well as a forward slash / to the end of it, it could then go through a list of common domain endings like .com .net .org etc if it can't locate that name as it is or it would default to the search engine. So when typing an address, use http://forums.xisto.com/ for better performance, it could also be wise to use www incase they aren't class B. Cheers, MC

  12. Best way to get indexed by google is the more sites with your links on them, the more likely the bots will collect information about your site, not only that, but those sites also must have many links to themselves, and so on and so on and so on. The greater you increase your chance of getting a googlebot the better you will get indexed, unless of course you're paying to be listed by google. The googlebots work on site listings, last modified, keywords, links to others, etc. The more your site's listed, you'll get good search placement, if your sites updated frequently, if your keywords, description, title match what people search for and that you have links to other sites so the bots can swim around the web without backtracking.Cheers, MC
  13. There are so many different languages, all aimed at addressing specific problems yet each language can do things better than the others.I sometimes compare languages that can do similar things, e.g. PHP vs Perl for web development, usually I would write in PHP since I'm more familiar around it coming from a C/C++ background, and that would be my only reason for using PHP instead of Perl, although I do know Perl, it's not known to me like the back of my hand. Now in a PHP vs Perl debate, you may find that Perl just out does PHP in many functions involving string and I/O operations, but it's very minimal and unless it was shown for a large scale project, I think Perl might actually be the better of the dynamic languages due to how powerful it is.Although PHP would still be my choice, unless specifically forced to use Perl I know I can still do relatively the same thing, so it's no problem.I prefer C/C++ and ASM, I only program pure ASM for learning programs in ASM or if it's the only way for a specific program (bootloaders, bios routines, etc) but other than that I use C/C++ and Inline Assembly programming.I don't like languages that are OS dependant, that ruins what language means when we speak it, teach it, translate it. So we can write portable code with the know how, but why go to so much trouble when they could have a language that can speak to any OS and they would understand it?I don't like writing portable code, I like writing software and not to worry that it won't be compatible on other systems, but I am made to worry due to the languages I like.Psuedocode should be the ultimate language!Cheers, MC
  14. 'Proxies' are not a good way to try and surf 'anonymously'. Obviously, your ISP is going to be aware of everything you do, whether you route through a proxy server or not - afterall, all the data that comes to you has to travel through them first.prolifik, what do you mean that the sys admin can't see what you are browsing? Of course they can. The data has to come from somewhere, and on a local-area network, it is usually from a computer (or a series of computers) that act as the server. Seeing as how a network admininstrator [should] have control of this server, they can therefore track what you are doing, regardless of how many proxies you tunnel through. The only thing that a proxy can really achieve is masking your IP address from servers that you access through that proxy server. For those who don't know, your IP address logged and attached to every post you make on this forum, but is only visible to moderators and admins. Using a proxy would mask this. It more or less works by relaying commands you send it to the destination host (hence the name proxy), so on the server side of things, it appears that the proxy server is accessing the network and not you directly. Still, a lot of proxy servers keep connection and activity logs (only the high-anonymity ones don't - or that's what they say), so you can be traced easily if you try and do anything illegal. Your ISP would probobly sniff you out first anyway if you try and download illegal pornography or whatever it was you people were talking about.
  15. I dont think it is my resolution because in some forums the width is fine but in otheres its not. Might just be a mozilla firefox issue (thats the browser I use)I dont find it that annoying, its just with the ever increasing amount of firefox users this type of suggestion may pop up again.

    RPG Maker XP

RPG Maker XP wasnt as good as RPG Maker 2003, i liked how it used Ruby Scripting, but the characters got in the way in battle, it gets kinda annoying, and the chipsets are kinda weird, i like some of the stuff it has, but its nothing to 2003
  18. I have smoked since the age of 12 and I am now 18 going on nineteen and do not foresee myself quitting smoking anytime within the near future. Frankly it pisses me off that people keep on saying "Smoking Kills! You should quit.." Ect... ect... More than likely you would contract cancer from the pollution already in the air than you would from second-hand smoke. I don't really care what the medical journals say... Besides that, if you don't like being around someone who smokes.. Leave! Don't just sit there and whine at them... I would personally tell you to piss off...My sister has smoked through her entire precnancy and we have just celebrated her childs 2nd birthday. He was born very, very healthy and without complication. She is also smoking through her current pregnancy without ANY complications and is due in the late part of October early November. My mother also smoked through her pregnancies (all three of them) and none of us had any complicated births and were perfectly healthy.. So, that whole theory on lower health for babies born to mothers who smoked during their pregnancy is a crock. as a side note... Even smoking as long as I already have, I am in perfect health. I recently had a complete work-up and everything is working at 100%. The medical community is full of it if they think that trying to scare people into quitting smoking is going to make a dent. As for statistics...Smoking reaffer is worst than smoking a single ciggy. Smoking one joint is the equivalent of smoking FIVE ciggies. That's if you believe those statistics... (wouldn't know, I don't touch the crap) But anywho...Shouldn't this topic be in the LIFE category... Doesn't really seem like Lobby material... As for my views of living a full live.. Read the sig..

  22. I cant remember if Xisto had ads on the left of whatever, but if your not gonna put anything there u guys should adjust the ipb wrapper width through the css style to 100%
  23. Doesn't it depend also on how many images,,etc are in the forums for page loads, or if you allow the posting of images. You shoudnt have any trouble but if u do u could just restrict the images tags for users.
