For the past few days I have been trying to vertically center a table. Vertically centering things within a table is simple, I already know that. But I want to vertically center the table itself (ie. div, table) and still have it as a liquid design. I do not used fixed positions and don't want to. If anyone has any suggestions or knows how to do this without using fixed positions, I would be really appreciative with any help. Thanks all, J.

Hulunes you should get Unreal Portal from Invisionize! Its the same portal as here and it allows you to add a shoutbox easily. I have switched from phpbb2 to IPB 1.3 because ipb has far superior features and mods witch make it more worth while compared to phpbb2.

Ok This May Be A Dumb Question But... About PhpNuke
iGuest replied to Triple X's topic in Web Hosting Support
YOu don't need to make any folders, the archives you download for php-nuke are intact using the format of which they are meant to be uploaded. Eg. html/modules/ All you hav to do is upload all the files and create the database, and even if you can't create a database you can get an installer, simple. Use an ftp client such as Cute FTP and its easy as. -
lol damn,, I could create it for you (lol if your that desperate!!). You have either done something wrong with your database or not uploaded all your files correctly. Where did you get and what release are you using of php-nuke??

No one else can create another super user after you hav created one even if you dont know your user name or password. Yeh I hav been into my database to change my username but I don't think you can change your password with out it becoming easy to hack (because as default it is encrypted, so you can't seee other members passwords). If you wanna change your user name open up ppmyadmin in the cpanel thenopen your database on the left then slect the search tab. And select all tables then type in something similar or your username. Reults should come up and you need to browse the table that results with your username. Then edit it to whatever you want. But I suggest you delete your database through cpanel then create another one as I told you in another thread and keep the settings the same or change them in config.php according to the settings of your database you create. THERE IS NO NEED TO DELETE FILES!!!!!!!! Its all stored in the database, dont waste your time. By the sound of your problem you have probably created the super user with different password to what you thought you typed (you typed the password in wrong). So its sort of stupid to edit the database if you forgot your password as you may become more hackable. You should just re-install your database man.

Free domain names are OK but bad for business credibility.Hurry go to http://www.dotster.com/ or https://www.domaindiscount24.com/en and get those 25 FREE .info domain names. Tell-a-friend script Make a tell-a-friend script with php
iGuest replied to websaint's topic in Programming
A few noticable errors, you call the script friendtell.php but you get them to name it tellfriend.php, you suggest no method for your form, you have a class attribute which suggests there is also a style or stylesheet being used, I believe limiting a textbox to 15 characters for an email address is too small. It also uses auto globals, which is recommended to be disabled for security reasons. Short tags are used, for wider compatibility you should use full tags.I also wouldn't recommend this script as there is no security features implemented and can result in unwanted spamming from your server, you really have to validate all user information that they input, or else it may result in arbituary commands being executed on your server. The case of escaped characters \r\n show it's based around Windows and that may even help in exploiting. You should also collect their information about the user, just their email entered, IP address and time, so if an event of unwanted mail is being sent and you are notified of it, you can report it to their ISP that this is what is happening and they could probably sort it for you. Make sure you have a policy that can be found easily on your site.Another thing is you don't need two seperate pages to do this script, it can all be performed on one page but you don't have to use a single page, two pages is fine, should allow redirection though. If I find time, I may work on this script and just improve security. All in all, it is simple indeed.Cheers, MC -
Converting HTML over to XHTML Crossing over to the darkside
iGuest replied to iGuest's topic in Programming
The answer to that is YOU. It's just what W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) recommend, it will eventually replace HTML so it would be wise too. Whatever you are comfortable with, you choose what to do, XHTML helps developers by keeping their code tidy with better syntaxing and removing a lot of elements that are just repeated tags that do exactly the same thing. It's also quite strict to make sure you all stay in line, it follows those rules of XML. What I'm saying is you don't have to learn another web language, if you know HTML 4.01, then you can easily convert over, it's just like HTML but cleaner and easier to use in some circumstances. Capitalising tags in HTML 4.01 is no problem, it's still considered valid, this however is not allowed in XHTML, you can view many different sites and they can combine a mixture of tags uppercase/lowercase, poorly indented and written, etc and this is why W3C as well as many other developers felt the need to make it suitable so everyone conforms to the same standards, that way developers can work with each other without being sloppy and knowing that the sites will be well-formed. You can look at XHTML as the newer version of HTML if you like, I do believe HTML will be dropped for XHTML so it can be seen as this, I'm not expecting another HTML standard. It's just an improvement and at least now the browser wars have minimalised their attacks on the standards. XHTML could be seen as stepping backwards, but if your remember HTML 3.2 (during the browser wars) HTML 4.01 was a definite step back as every browser had a lot of features they wanted. Cheers, MC -
Ok This May Be A Dumb Question But... About PhpNuke
iGuest replied to Triple X's topic in Web Hosting Support
Its only easy to hack if you use an older version of phpnuke because most of them are not patched by chatserv. The mysql tables are scrambled and you cant tell which scripts calls which table. The newest version 7.5 chatserved patched 2.6 available at Nuke Resources is damn secure. Everyone should try it!! -
The graphics to TAO is really really sweet for an online game. It's kinda like chess in a way. But i think they need more features and more "special units". Also it's one of those sites school proxys don't block so u can play at school But it's definitely a good experience if you've never played it before.
-
Thats just the default news module that is created when phpnuke is viewed for the first time. Are you thats you hadnt created the super user? Caus that happened to me once and the only thing i could do was to re-install the database for php-nuke. I suggest you do that, theres no need delete any files because your nuke is stored in the database. Just create another databes as i sed in that other topic with the same preferences so it links to yuor config .php correctly.

Ok This May Be A Dumb Question But... About PhpNuke
iGuest replied to Triple X's topic in Web Hosting Support
phpnuke is better and it doesnt take up 20mb i hav successfully installed 2 phpnuke projects and they each take about 10mb. Triple x you probably havn't installed your database correctly or uploaded all the files. If you installed using the cpanel i suggest you dont, you should download phpnuke 7.4 patched from Nuke scripts as it is more secure then 6.8 in cpanel. You should start from srcatch and upload all the files from the archive of the phpnuke release you download as says in the instructions, then use the following instructions to set up your database and config.php: Create the database through cpanel in the mysql database section (eg nuke which becomes punit_nuke) then you must create a user (eg punit which becomes punit_punit) give this user full access rights to the database punit_nuke. NOTE: This part is all done through cpanels mysql database section. Yeh you can import sql files, its easy go to phpmyadmin. Then select the database you created on the left(eg. punit_nuke), then your database's inserts will show up (if you have any) on the right frame. Then click the button sql up the top in the right frame, then the sql import page comes up and browse for the file on you computer and select go. Your sql file is then imported into your database and all the tables and lines etc are created. (if it says completed succesfully) Now open your config.php file and make the following changes to the parts with ***. I will use the database punit_nuke and user punit_punit as examples. [br][/br]<?php[br][/br]######################################################################[br]# PHP-NUKE: Advanced Content Management System[/br]# ============================================[br]#[/br]# Copyright (c) 2002 by Francisco Burzi (fbc@mandrakesoft.com)[br]# http://phpnuke.org[br]#[/br]# This module is to configure the main options for your site[br]#[/br]# This program is free software. deejames i went to your site and you have registered correctly. You must of typed your username or password in differently to what yyou thought you had. So try to login at admin.php again making sure you USE the same password and username as you made the super user with. If you still can't log in its because you stuffed up your password or username and you must reinstall phpnuke again. Sorry its the easiest way deejames! You HAVE to make sure you register the super user correctly!!!!! X3r0X ill assume your talkin about phpnuke since this topics about it so: Once you hav installed phpnuke got to Nuke Styles and download EDL1.7 (this is an enhanced downloads module, pretty much developed from the default phpnuke downloads module). EDL 1.7 allows you to restrict annonymous users and guests from accesing downloads, and prompts them to register to sign in. Its pretty cool.

There are many places to download free templates for phpBB2. The first place you should try is phpbbstyles.com and then the stylesdb.com. Both offer free templates and they are usually very well designed templates at that. Later, J.

Best Stuff for Free i would like to know
iGuest replied to PenDragon's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I am uncertain if it is better than dreamweaver, as I have never used that program. But I know for a fact that any editor is better than frontpage. Not to mention, you get a lot better script help using other editors. You would like TSWares editor, it's a really easy to use editor has a lot of useful features including pre-installed scripts and has it's own script corrector for simple html and css. It's completely free, all you have to do is register the product and they send you the key to keep it working on your computer... Later, J. -
Most deffinately! I will probably, if I have the free time, put up a small design page on my site. Nothing extravagent, but something I can fiddle with and share some of my work with others. I've always enjoyed making graphics and templates, just never really did anything with them...lol. Later, J.

You'd better get .info domains at domaindiscount24.com got two .info's today. It takes about 30 seconds here!

I think the vertical tower ads are the best way, they are seen and at the same time they are not annoying the visitors. (Just like we have em there on that forum) ;-))

Surely, you should just use FTP client and it would work quite well!At first I was afraid of them (I mean FTP clients) but then I realised it really boosts the CPU speed and saves time. Try one!

Mozilla with adblock Sick of pesky ads?
iGuest replied to iGuest's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Mozilla was the original code name for Netscape Navigator, Netscape launched the Mozilla open source project in 1998 when they released their own source code. Netscape uses the development of Mozilla to aid their own browser development. A lot more contributors are from Mozilla and their community rather than the people over at Netscape, but both browsers are similar, although Netscape maybe more corporate orientated with the additions they include to their browser, some type of partnership they have with them. Cheers, MC -
I think they are doing that as a part of ".info" promotion campaign.I've registered one today, but actually that isn't working quite well, because it doesn't redirect users to my real site with another domain...
