I think that the grammatical as well spelling mistakes creep in, not due to lack of knowledge, but may be, due to some sort of reluctance towards these issues. So far as my posts are concerned, whenever I am confused regarding a spelling, I check it with a word processor. That has really helped me a lot in improving my spelling. Saying so, I can't claim that I am cent percent accurate as yet.Regards,Sid

A True Alternative To Paypal? What And Why!
iGuest replied to Transcendum's topic in Websites and Web Designing
So far as e-Gold is concerned, they have employed a different type of system altogether. With e-Gold, your account balance is denominated in terms of gold and not in dollars. So it relies heavily on the price of gold and your account balance will fluctuate depending upon the price of Gold on a particular day. Therefore, it is better to cash-out from it as soon as possible if you want to avoid these fluctuations. Now here is the second half of the story. You cannot cash-out from e-gold directly. They will give you gold instead. So to get cash, you have to sell your gold to an outexchange service provider and they will give you cash, either via check or any other e-currency after cutting a commission. You can cash-out from e-gold via OmniPay. Here is the link to e-Gold. And this is the link to OmniPay. Regards, Sid. -
It requries a combination of these things to make a good peice of writing. You did fine mw. Isn't that how college lectures are anyways? Actually that is a good idea. English and Russian are the two best laguages for technical discussions. Most forums on coding and programing are in english. The ones that aren't are most likely in Russian. Being as I only speak english and can struggle through written spanish, I really have no room to talk. And you were complaining about his spelling... Anyways no one is perfect. Eventually you will make a mistake. I enjoy reading a forum that I can understand what is being said in. I also like debating things, so if you see me make an outrageous statement, call me on it and we will debate it. Well let's see if this gets me some more credits.

Ok. Thank you MC. Now I just need to know how to use the $%?& thing. I swear, what makes people want to do this anymore anyways? it si so frustrating to see stuff like this going on with these games. Oh, and MC? You have to physically unplug the drives with Starforce 3.x+. $%?& thing. Is there any way to fool said protection? If there is, I am all ears. For anyone wanting to help with this, grab my MSN address so we can chat. I prefer realtime discussion.

The protection is Starforce 3.x+, which I can tell you has been worked out though you need the right tools. Keywords you may want to look for are "profiler" or "alcoholer" which configure the tool you're using to do what you are trying to do.The fact that Starforce looks for something specific on what all CD/DVD Drives has, is the reason why disabling them, even inside windows should work (I'm guessing).Cheers,MC

Cars In NFS Most Wanted what cars do you play with
iGuest replied to smyke's topic in Computer Gaming
Best car in the game is the Ford GT. The stats dont do it justice. When you can drift all the way around the center circle of the city at more than 160 mph, you know you got something good goin on. The second best car is the Gallardo. It can run close to the same thing. I have reached straight line speeds on the GT of 245+ mph. It. Is. Fast. Period. And she can handle too. It's just a beautiful car. -
The Revolutionary war was in fact a colonial Civil War. Let's debate this.

Student Suspended Over Call From Mom In Iraq
iGuest replied to Glockmeister1405241492's topic in General Discussion
Agreed. Let's lynch the superintendant LOL. What we have here is a failure to comunicate. (yes the Puns are intended) Seriously though, this kid obviously had a VERY good reason to be on the phone. You would think that the people in charge would realize this as well. What we have created here is a system that punishes the very people it is meant to help. -
The game is ToCA Race Driver 3. I cant figure out what protection it has on it. Daemon and Alcohol don't work with the Image and the only way around this apparently is to unplug the disc drives while the emulators are runing. I need those drives however so you can see my predicament. Anyways, if you have specific advice for me, dont hesitate to email me or add me to your MSN friends list.

I'll only tell you what tools (but not where to get them) you may need, but anything to modify, break copy protection is against the law. However I still think there's a Fair Use Act applicable to this, that I believe should not allow Game Developers to control your Rights of what you do on your computer with a Game you legitimately bought (I am not the law though, so what I say maybe irrelevant) but being able to play a game without the CD is good, I have a nephew who has toddler games, that requires the CD and last time I let him play with the CD, it ended up inside the drive, requiring me to take the drive apart to get the CD out. So now I don't let him play with CDs at all.First things first would be understanding whether this CD/DVD does have copy protection or not. A tool called A-Ray Scanner can check for most types of CD/DVD. You need to know what type of protection any CD/DVD has to understand what you may need to do to accomplish what you want. Not really necessary, but can sometimes help with ripping a CD/DVD.You want a no-cd crack, easiest way would be ripping the whole CD/DVD (could use Alcohol 120%, Nero, CloneCD, Blindwrite) to your hard drive as an image, and using Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to use that image as a virtual drive, in which you can play the game as if the CD were in the drive. If you're thinking of money trainers, or abilities to adjust ingame items etc, then I think Ollydbg would be your best choice, because you can test changing values inside the register during gameplay. I won't tell you how to do this though, as you still have to understand the opcodes and read exactly what the program is doing and you can easily crash the program or whole OS if you're not careful. You may need something that masks that you're using a debugger.SoftICE is probably the best debugger you'd find and for dead listing disassembly, there's win32dasm. There's also quite a few good programs around related to such tools. As for a decompiler, I think you should avoid these, they cannot produce 100% compilable code, or even code that resemmbles anything like what the programmer would have written, there's just so many different ways they could do something, that it's hard to get back to source code. Assembly is the way.If you do need a hexeditor, there's quite a few around and any hexeditor would do, though there are some with more advanced features, directly aimed at the sole purpose of modifying programs. So you should look around for these too.Cheers,MC

Two New BBCodes For Astahost
iGuest replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Alerts, News & Announcements
Hey evought, We already share the same thoughts, I'm currently working on BBCodes to make articles/books, etc and referencing tags would definitely be in this, so far I'm looking at how the page will layout, what type of heading tags to have, separator tags, tags that you can use to bookmark within the document so that you can skip to parts of the article, table of contents, etc. That's just for displaying in posts, other ideas outside of this is allow it to be converted into PDF, printable, opened in it's own separate window so you don't have to read other posts in the thread, using RSS for them and maybe indexing them all on one site categorised by what relevant topics they match so we can build an extensive knowledgebase. The problem I face is that not everyone would have the time to make use of these tags, so I'm thinking of building a form that is easy to use and can be used to generate the relevant informformation, or I could create MS Word Templates/Open Office Templates that can help you do the process more easily. Whether I turn it into a BBCode formatted document or turn it into an XML document is still in the "should I" process. Cheers, MC -
I am trying to use an original game without the need for having to use the CD to play, for personal use. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! I will be the only person with access to it. I need to learn the skills though. I need help about how to go about doing this. Notice from mastercomputers: I've altered this to reflect what he wants, but modifying any .exe file is illegal, so try to provide alternatives than this means. He will have to learn the other procedures elsewhere unfortunately.

Are Very High Capacity DVDs Available? available to general public?
iGuest replied to foolakadugie's topic in Software
It may even work out cheaper buying a large capacity hard drive instead which you could use for backing up and transferring. Really just depends on how much you need to shift. Also have you looked at compressing your files too, just to make them smaller then move them over to the DVDs. It probably still takes the same amount of time for burning (added time for compressing), but you could fit more on the one disc.Cheers,MC -
I would have answered this, but to be honest, that question did not make sense, nor did it show the level of expertise this person had.A disassembler, disassembles into assembly code, not C++ source code, that's a decompiler, which does it's best turning the program back into it's source equivalent. If the programs written in VB, use a VB decompiler, but these are not effective and can sometimes never get you source that can be recompiled.Hexeditors can edit the binary of an .exe file, but again, this is no walk in the park you would probably make no sense of it at all but you might be able to find strings within it that you could possibly alter.Ollydbg is quite a nice debugger which loads the program into memory and you can adjust registers for the program (good for creating money trainers, etc for games) or alter opcodes to perform different operations. Some programs use packers, which means you need to unpack them first to be able to work on the code.I think it's best to let this thread die, this person asked this question last year, and hasn't shown much commitment to staying with Xisto.Cheers,MC

Reason why line 6 errors, is because chris is a string 'chris', quote it. Also what's the point in creating the $query if you're not going to use it? I don't use root with no passwords, so I think you should set a password for root, and create a new user to use instead with only the privilleges needed, in this case only SELECT. if(!$dbconnect = mysql_connect('localhost', 'user1', 'password')) exit('Unable to connect to database');if(!mysql_select_db('users')) exit('Unable to select database');$query = "SELECT pass FROM login WHERE name = 'chris'";$result = @mysql_query($query, $dbconnect);echo $result; This isn't foolproof code, it needs work. Cheers, MC

Are Very High Capacity DVDs Available? available to general public?
iGuest replied to foolakadugie's topic in Software
Blu-Ray and HD-DVD are two different technologies, one is Sony and the other is Toshiba, NEC and Sanyo and promoted by MS both aimed at their consoles and for allowing movies. You need a special drive for writing Blu-Ray discs and can't do it on your normal DVD Writers. You can get Double-Layered discs known as DVD9 which allows you to hold double the amount of a single layer DVD 4.7GB. Only dual layer DVD writers/readers will be able to write and read from them but they are available but cost probably a lot more than 2 x 4.7GB DVD discs. Cheers, MC -
Help Me Find JavsScript For My Site! no no
iGuest replied to phduchuy's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Can't really help you unless you give more information as to what you are intending to do with javascript. Tells us what you want to do (in as much details as possible, even repetitive if you like) as long as it clearly states what you want to use javascript for, then I think we will be able to help you. Cheers, MC -

Check out these events too...not Stella awards nor Darwin awards...just dum crimes. These criminals do not even know how commit a crime...god knows why they even commit crimes when they do not know...here are two such events.A young enthusiastic searching for a job enters a restaurant. He directly walks up to the counter and asks the attendant to give him a copy of a Job Application Form. He then sits on a nearby table and starts to scribble something on Job Application Form. After a few minutes he again walks up to the counter and this time instead of giving the Job Application Form back he points a gun, he robs the restaurant completely, and not a single buck is left. Till here everything is normal (the actual way a crime should take place). Police come to the restaurant to investigate upon this robbery. After an hour the attendant at the counter remembers about the Job Application Form he had given to the robber. The police found the Job Application Form; they were shocked to see of which height the robber could have gone. The noodle brain robber had written his actual name, address, phone number, driving license number and his vehicle number. How pathetic can it go? The police nailed the accused the following day.Another such event took place at a Camera Store, a couple walks in to do dutiful shopping (actually, these people are the thieves). They take a look at a few cams; they even take a look at a few cams which were kept for demo. They even act like as if they were really taking a few snaps. After a few minutes they leave the shop with a load of cameras and lot of money. While the investigation was taking place, one of their staff remembered that the accused couple were fiddling around with some of the cams kept for demo...in most of the cams the battery had run dry. But in the one in which the couples were fooling around had a pair of new batteries. The police took it for investigation. The couple had been so stupid that the wife had really clicked the button and her husband’s photo had been taken. They were taken into custody soon.

The point is that now-a-days free hosts don't give all kinds of scripting capabilities, I know that Xisto give unlike others. I already told you that using the encryption method will be better, because it makes it difficult, and one more thing I mentioned was that, it should not be used for anything serious. You could use it to protect some page in your hooby site or something like that, not anything tooooooo private or serious.
-
Guys, if you like it you can use it, but one thing I would like to tell is that its not entierly safe to use such a thing, it depends on your content that you are trying to protect from usual visitors, beginners this is for you. The best part is that you do not need any kind of scripts installed on your server, it is in JavaScript which is embeded in to your HTML page. Just change the username from "asta" to your choice and password from "host" to your preference. Here is the code... <script language="javascript"><!--///*This Script allows people to enter by using a form that asks for aUserID and Password*/function pasuser(form) {if (form.id.value=="asta") {if (form.pass.value=="host") { location="page2.html"} else {alert("Invalid Password")}} else { alert("Invalid UserID")}}//--></script><center><table bgcolor="white" cellpadding="12" border="1"><tr><td colspan="2"><center><h1><i><b>LoginArea</b></i></h1></center></td></tr><tr><td><h1><i><b>UserID:</b></i></h1></td><td><formname="login"><inputname="id" type="text"></td></tr><tr><td><h1><i><b>Password:</b></i></h1></td><td><inputname="pass"type="password"></td></tr><tr><td><center><input type="button" value="Login"onClick="pasuser(this.form)"></center></td><td><center><br><inputtype="Reset"></form></td></tr></table></center> Your username and password can be viewed from the source code of your page, just to make it more secure, encrypt. And now, if you are thinking "How am I going to encrypt a page?", visit this page (http://www.cyberiapc.com/aascripter/samples/Security/sub9.htm), over here you just have to paste your java script code and it will encrypt it for you. On this page you can even give it an encrypted code and it will decrypt it for you (bring it back to its original state). Thus the above script must not be used for anything serious. If you plan to go and hide something more serious try, Bravenet.com service which is much, much secure, its just like loging into your email ID (yahoo or hotmail).

Ya man, this is good, but the point over here is that its an Online editor which microsoft office is not. It is good when you want to create a new document when you do not have one, this happens when you have just formatted your disk. Installing M$ Office takes a long time (approximately = 4 min.) so if you do not patients you could try this good online tool. Seems to be a good idea.

I Need A Re-direction Script I need a script...
iGuest replied to imajin8shun's topic in Programming
The best way to do it is to send the redirection status code for the HTTP/1.1 protocol (3XX) which automatically gets sent when using the PHP header('Location: someaddress/page') function, unless a status code has already been sent. The meta refresh is not a good idea, because it breaks the back button. Status code 301 for permanent redirect or Status code 302 for temporary. <?phpheader('Location: http://thisaddress.com/page.html');exit;?> Should always make sure to exit too, incase there's code after it that you don't want to process before being redirected. There's other ways to do it too, which requires .htaccess file and URL rewriting or using the redirect derivative but avoid using meta refresh. Cheers, MC
