  1. Can you tell by looking at the colour of their nose? Do the black-skined ones have black noses and the white-skinned ones white noses? Or maybe their hooves are different, too?
  2. If you are only getting 45 minutes out of a full charge, then the Battery is wearing out. I have had mine for a year already and use it pretty much everyday on battery power and still get 3 hours or more depending on the processing I use it for. A replacement battery will be required soon, I would think.
  3. This is a very good site that can solve your problem fully. Here is the link http://www.free2code.net/plugins/articles/read.php?id=99, go a head!
  4. Hey guys and gals, I came across this link to a great site from another forum, anyway this site gives away free domain name(s) [they will register it for you], iPods...etc. These people dont want anything from you (not a single cent ☻), you just have to search on their search engine to gain rewards. You need to gain points by click on the links shown on the search results, thats its, every time you click (you get to click only once per day) you get 10 points and you need to get 1000 points to get your domain, thats it, is'nt it cool? Here is the link to FREE DOMAIN WEBSITE. Apart from that search engine thingy, there are other great offers you can earn points for, but these offers depend on the place you live. These offers can get you upto 50 points and once that means you will get your domain in just 20 days! Notice from miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG: Referral Link Removed. In future, if you post a referral link, make sure that you mention so. Not just that, you've also got to provide a clean direct link to the same site and mention it beside this. This is mandatory on our board, as we want our members to have the choice of signing up both as a referral and directly. If any post fails to abide by the above conditions, referral links will be immediately removed.
  5. Fedora Core 5 is my favourite distribution and I'm quite bias in that respect as I've been using Red Hat since the early days when it was near impossible to get anything to work on Linux, now look how far they've come, it's amazing.Ubuntu seems to be rising in popularity, for new comers looking for something to run their desktop machine, I'm not sure how well it is to be used for a server, Red Hat/Fedora seem to be the server type distribution, also Debian, but I think RH/Fedora have a higher edge. Suse also seems to be quite good, it's probably one of the better Networking Operating Systems, thanks to Novell development. To me Knoppix maybe the best LiveCD, if not, then they are the most known for being LiveCD, however you can order Ubuntu CDs for free (includes shipping, which is also free) which comes with a hard drive install CD and a LiveCD that you can test before you install. This might be a reason why for it's popularity because those with slow internet speeds would not mind waiting 2 weeks or more for their CDs.I could say what Fedora Core 5 can do to tip the scales that way, but to be honest, most Linux distributions are capable of doing what it does, or similar, or even better, but I know if you did use it and had problems with it, I know that there are a few who use it here, including me, who could help you with it.Cheers,MC

  7. Well I am not receving any replies, I would reward you 7 days hosting credits if you just set the shoutbox on my phpBB forum. It will just take you 15mins to set-it up if you know what to do. Please help me. I need help and be quick on your decision. Please help!
  8. This is exaclty what I was trying to convey. Nothing more or nothing less. Sites like these will really come up in their future. One more thing I would like to tell is that having too many images (more than required) on site the is quite bearable, but having flash, videos, sound is not nesscary at all. Yes, I dont go completely against what I just said but but if that side really needs something like video conferencing or if the site hosts muisc is ok, thats because you want those stuff, as I said in my earlier post, visitors should have what they need. So if your visitor needs it give it. But not that you should have those dum music going on the background, you dont even know its going on as most of the visitors on the web come online with their speakers/headphones off until and unless the want to listen to something. What I want to tell is that try keeping the download time of your site is the second factor you must keep in mind. (The first one being the content) Now lets go on to some more tutorials Notice from twitch: Content plagerised from http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Thats it for now, anyway I wrote this when I was in class when my teacher was blabering on some boring topic like area and perimeter, sheesh, why dont other students get them faster. I really expected more posts than how much I am receving on this topic, its a really debative topic and I cant understand why no one is bothered about it.
  9. "3. Thin ice is clear, but thicker ice is not. The middle of an ice cube is white. A hockey rink isn't clear. "'Paint' (actually, a white powder) is spread into a Hockey Rink slab during the process of building up the slap thickness. Ideally, the paint is applied low enough that the player's blades don't cut into it and cause problems. The base of the Hockey rink is flooded to a certain thickness, then the powder applied and a covering coat of water is hosed on to the powder so the ice-building process can continue. As more coats of water are applied, the Ice appears to be white, yes.A similar process is used to mark out the Centre ice 'red-line' and the 'blue-lines', 'goal-lines', etc. except the lines are rolls of a bio-degradeable paper-like product (sort of like crepe paper) which are easier to apply in a uniform manner and straighter, too. In the good old days, the paint was applied by a hand using brushes and rollers. The Centre Ice logo's and messages may be applied using a combination of these methods. Under certain conditions, ie: if the ice thickness is not monitored, or during periods of excessive use, or if the temperature increases suddenly over a couple of days, the skaters can wear down the ice and the colours may begin to 'bleed-through'. At that point, the process needs to be repeated. At least this describes the process at my local Hockey rink.
  10. If thats over can you help me with my topic - "Need Help, Install phpBB Shoutbox - Get Reward" I need that shoutbox urgently. Thanks for the advice anyway and by the way miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG can you setup that shoutbox for me. Please, please.
  11. Hey guys and gals, I installed phpbb all by myself (not from the Xisto Cpanel) on onther webhost. I installed it there because Xisto has a pretty old version, (ok, the previous version). No I need help in installing a shoutbox on it, I am really pissed off with those shoutbox which you will have to manually install. I have been tring nearly 5 different shoutbox for phpbb and all keep saying some error, I had installed one of the shoutbox completely but in the end, when I tried shouting into it, it gave an error, now I am asking if anyone here can set-it up for me for free, if not I'll ask the admins here if I can transfer my hosting credits (7 days hosting credits, that a lot,...lol) to the person who installs it.If you are sure that you will setup the shoutbox for me, then PM me to get the username, password and the webhost URL where I have setup the forum. If none of can, atleast give me a shoutbox script that really works, (provided you have tried it or you are confident that it will work), dont give me a link to some site where it's gonna teach me how to setup a shoutbox, I visited nearly all of them and they all suck. I really need this shoutbox and worst of all its URGENT! Please help me out!If you really can do it, try getting me a shout like the Xisto shoutbox and I know that the shoutbox Xisto uses is D-Scripting and its ment for Invision Power Boards only, but try getting me something similar, anyway this is not a condition, anykinda SHOUTBOX would do. :PPlease reply fast, I need that shoutbox and its urgent!
  12. Yeah, no one likes resrtictions, and thank you for your advice on those file hosting services, I'll post aging here after I finish uploading it to the file-sharing host, I'll place the link here too. Thank anyway.
  13. Biggest problem with javascript is the large percentage of Users with js disabled in their Browsers, due in a big way to the security risks involved when it is enabled, so lets all thank Uncle Bill for yet another fine product.
  14. Thats what I was thinking about all night, it would be seriously irritating for the user, and the page load time would aslo fall drasticaly. Thats why I am gonna put only one banner at the top right hand side, right next to the logo. Thanks for your advice anyway.
  15. Hi, thanks about the advice to change my file-sharing service, but that is the only one I know which has an easy to use interface, can you suggest me with other file-sharing services. And the definitions you gave are not more or not less than 100% correct. You are right. People dont seem to understand the fact that hackers are the good guys (kind of) and crackers are the bad guys (they are, all the time).
  16. I'm sure that running a 'free hosting service' is difficult enough, but add together the difficulties of running Xisto, Xisto.com, Xisto.net, Xisto, developing the network that supports the Advertising for these Forums, the relationship with the Company that provides the Servers, dealing with Daily PM's and emails... the list goes on.Difficult enough if all goes well. Truly difficult when there are problems.I for one am thankful for having the opportunty to be a teeny weenie part of it, and hope I am on the good side that is working to improve the service by virtue of being a Mod status at the Xisto.com.One way I think we could support OpaQue is by utilizing the services of Xisto - Web Hosting for sites we work on for others and registering our domains through Xisto - Web Hosting, too. The difference in price is negligible when compared to alternative registration services. A couple of bucks, only, so I suggest we all make this small contribution. Since we are going to have to pay for the domain anyway, why not pay OpaQue?
  17. I really can't say much about the problem you faced. I access that directory quite often (using Mozilla Firefox) and have never witnessed a "server downtime". Here is the link for you once again, if you want to re-check it. Hedir.com Best of luck! Sid
  18. I think following two points, as raised in the first post by Ganeshn, require some more discussion. So far as #1 is concerned, it is absolutely correct to say that a good webpublisher offers only what the visitors want to see. Now let us come to the Point#2. The visitors are looking for information, and it is also correct. But the information may not compulsorily be textual always as a rule. It may also be an image or graphics design that they are looking for. Based on that, I have tried to classify websites into three categories. 1) Sites that provide textual information. 2) Sites that provide information by means of images and graphics. 3) A blending of the above two category. Sites that provide textual information: These are the websites whose webpages contain mostly textual information. Sites on SEO tools and techniques, sites that provide different Webhosting services, sites on tutorials on different subjects such as, scripting/programming languages, are good example of this category. For example: Take a quick look at a good website that provides information on SEO toolset Webconfs.com . And as per your expectation it contains only textual information. Needless to say, the visitors of this website never expect to see fancy scripts in this site as well. A site containing tutorials on different programming and scripting languages like Page Resource.com also contains mostly textual information, and for obvious reason, this site is also very much useful for its visitors. 2) Sites that provide information by means of images and graphics: These are the websites that rarely use textual content. Rather, they rely havily on images and graphics to convey the infomation to its visitors. Although the number of websites belonging to this category is also large, but at present we can take the case of a site such as Flower Pictures.net , containing thousands of pictures of flowers. Its visitors are, actually searching for picture of flowers ( for the reason only they can tell!) and not dull textual description of flowers! Also we can take the case of PopCap.com, a good games site, whose home page itself contains images of different games. 3) A blending of the above two category It will be fair enough to say that a large number of websites are just keeping a balance between the textual information and images. Just see this website on West Bengal tourism. It contains images as well as textual information. Sites relating to scientific publications, research works, field studies, medical and technical journals do not seem to have any other alternative means to explain and establish the concepts. These websites usually contain textual information with supporting images (Just like a good book!). So, in fine, we can see that point#1 is the biggest factor for deciding the content of your webpages. You have to offer your visitor exactly what they want to see, be it textual content, images, fancy scripts or animations. But the top most priority should be given to relevance. It must go with the theme of your website and it must not be anything extra or odd that will annoy your visitors ( recall second post )! Regards, Sid
  19. There is a problem with that URL, every time I try to lead it Mozilla Firefox says:- What is this, its supposed to be a directly, more or less like DMOZ. I dont think directories like these will survive if they respond like this, with server down-time when you need it the most.
  20. I am not going to have internet connect for a week or two, so just to keep my account active and running here is some really useful stuff I though you might be interested in! Its basically about some webmaster/designer tips. Keep these in mind when ever you are designing your site. It will prove very effective. This is through my personal advice. Notice from twitch: Content deleted, plagerised from http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Thats it guys, finsihed. Hope these dum tips I mentioned above will work for you. I will keep posting as soon as I recharge my internet account. I dont think that there is a penny left in my ISP account.
  21. Sorry for a delay in replying. Hedir community is formed by people like you and me. In this regard i would like to quote what Hedir has to say about their community review system. Regards, Sid
  22. Wow, I can see how pissed of you are. And you claim that you dont get pissed of easily, is it a joke? Anyway after I read your post, my heart melted, I really did not know that OpaQue funnels 90% of the funds he earns from Xisto - Web Hosting.Com. I think each and every member of this community should respect him and his service. May some day all of us should really give him a suprise and gift him something. One thing for sure, After I complete my site, I am surely gonna put that Xisto - Web Hosting.Com banner on my site to drive a little more traffic to his site and he can make a little more $. I think everyone should do this, but by doing this we will be spoiling his dream project, keeping webhsoting service for free and ad-free. But we can argue upon this topic be telling him that we are doing this by will. I dont know if anyone is going to support OpaQue and Xisto - Web Hosting.Com but I am surely going to. Nice article miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG, touched my heart. 3 Cheers to OpaQue Hip-ip hurray, Hip-ip hurray, Hip-ip hurray. Support OpaQue and Xisto - Web Hosting.Com now!
  23. Hey guys , I just installed Invision Power Board on my Xisto account. Everything is alright with the board. I just need to know how to add in those banner ads like this one Xisto uses After all this over I also need help in adding my Google Adsense ad on my forum (on the top left, for example right to Xisto logo). If anyone here has signed up for the Google Adsense service, can give me the code for making by banner ads transperent because I dont seem to get the right color combination for my Invision Power Board default skin. Sorry , I forgot to mention it before, how do I add my Google Adsense code after every post? Help my appreciated. Thank you.
  24. Come-on man, I tried it on Maxthon, and it does'nt seem to load even with it, I tried IE too, no change in either. The site must have been deleted from the server or the hosting server must be down all the time. Thank god I chose Xisto. Its my favorite.
  25. Actually speaking, I dont want such a complicated program. May be a very, very, very simple script, it would be ok. Something close to it will also be ok. (I am talking about the crediting system). And thanx for that shoutbox script. Really I am not going to code anuthing, after reading what you said, I dont my entire board go down just because of the shoutbox. Dont take my crediting system request as a spam, if you cant help me with direct script, please give a link to someother software equivalent to the one Xisto is using (atleast close to it). I will not post anymore on this topic if you consider it as a spam. Thanks anyway. Thanks anyway, I dont need any help now, I found all the scripts on Invisionize.com, including the points script and the shoutbox. There are also other very good mods for your forums like "Contact System" which will allow board members to email the admin for complains. The points script is called Xtreme Point System and there are other crediting systems too. But for downloading these scripts you need to register.
