  1. Yep yep salamangkero has it all right. What is considered "important" is usually just what is hot at the time.IMO how we directly treat our human beings is way more important than trying to talk about gun laws. Laws are figured by the politicians so if you don't have a large amount of money or are a politician yourself there is really little you can do to change them (of course talking about them does accomplish something). But trying to make a change in people on how they treat their fellow brothers and sisters is something you can do by talking to people - or by not talking to people.
  2. "Prayer" is just talking to yourself and having faith that a higher power is listening. I know that all days are not 24 hours long because a day depends on the amount of time it takes a body to orbit a star - duh. And the writers of the gospel were possessed by the holy spirit to write down God's true words. Yes I know all the opposite "truths" to this argument cause I am an informed educated person that was raised Christian and I have openly debated these things with friends and people in the Church. However when it comes down to all religions you have to rely on this little thing called faith. Also there are many stories in the Bible that are remakes of older stories. ...Just ask your English professor.
  3. And how do we know that? Simple, because we have found more reliable copiesthe ones without human interferencewhich provide the true message, and which the current and up-to-date Bible translations are based on. The Bible wasn't just changed by humans, it was written by humans. See the fallacy? Do you know when humans were first on this Earth? Not seven days after the Earth was here. Lots of talk of God, though who here has ever talked to him? If you say you do nowadays you're automatically labeled as crazy! Wonder why.. hmm.
  4. Writing a report isn't like taking notes, I'm sure in taking notes when you are trying to quickly write what someone says down people use shorthand, I do and don't know anyone that doesn't. Notes are made for personal use, not to turn into the teacher. And if the teachers are having such a huge problem, why don't they just fail the students? Isn't it English class? I'm sure they have the right, nay, the obligation as a teacher to fail a student who cannot write properly in English while in a professional setting. Isn't the solution to this problem simple? Fail the students and the outcome is students will not write this way any more - right?
  5. Well Caltech sustained 101 Gbps from Pittsburgh to LA in 2004. Though the University of Tokyo did it over a longer distance, Caltech's record blows them out of the water. I guess Caltech has the network that the University of Tokyo plans to set up already functional. Awesome. My networks professor said that in North Korea home users already have internet with up to 1 terabyte in speed. She is from Russia so I don't believe she has personally experienced it... I can't even imagine it... sigh.
  6. Well, in my opinion, people like this definately aren't the sickest form of idiots, they aren't even close to being as despicable as a shooter and many other people. But these people should be ashamed of themselves.Though some of the blame rests with the end user in this case... Why go to a website you've never heard of but from an email from a person you don't know and go to their website to view a video you can see at a number of news websites you can trust like CNN, FoxNews, ABC, etc. It doesn't make sense.
  7. In my opinion chat room slang is not ruining academic writing. People know the difference between writing professionally and writing in a casual form. When the time calls to write professionally one should write professionally and use no slang. It all comes down to the person. Personally, I do not write "internet slang" much in any of my conversations on MSN, E-mail, on cell phones, etc. Shorthand writing has been around for a long time, the only reason people are making a big deal of it is because there are many people who do not like technology. People have been writing in "internet slang" or shorthand for years in manuscripts and personal letters.People are lazy and will write how they want to and they should accept getting 50's on papers and rejected from a job because they cannot tell the difference between a professional setting and a casual setting.
  8. Wow, this is such a cool idea. Though in my opinion, it wouldn't be that hard to reach 280 credits. I mean, if you're an active member and don't take a lot of time off you should be able to easily achieve this amount of credits. Maybe one day I will reach it. Hopefully by then the service is still up!And I'm just as curious as heavensounds, has anyone here obtained their domain through this offer?
  9. Actually sigs can be vertical, though they usually aren't allowed at such a height. These are nice sigs, I especially like the color scheme in these two.
  10. Well, in my family we don't do this - if any we are taught to value our women more. But it is annoying and hurtful when a parent values one child more than the other(s). It's sad and it really affects the shunned child in an awful way.I would have to say what decides this is the type of culture you're in and the way your parents and you were/are brought up.

  12. In the main folder of your ftp delete the file index.htmlIts in the folder containing the public_html folder.
  13. We will most likely never find the reason of our existence in this lifetime. I'm not talking about our 70 or so years specifically, but the lifetime that we all have on Earth. Maybe after death we will find out? Though I kind of think there is no reason to life.Seen the news lately? Scientists have found a planet around a distant star that is set up perfectly to have water on it. Water supports life. Water has to be present for life to exist. - From what we know anyways. Though this planet could hold water and not life... who knows?By the way we can tell that a distant speck in the night sky is a star because of the light it emits. From the light we can decipher what elements the light is fueled by and etc. Astronomy is a fun class.
  14. Trust me, someone that has road rage and is tailgating you on purpose would not react well to an anti tailgating light no matter how unoffending it was. A back off bastard sign is very unimaginable as it would just entice them to ram you off the road. Besides - is that really the type of language we want our kids to think is ok to say?And turning on bright lights to get the person to quit tailgating you isn't exactly a good idea. It will ruin their night vision and since they are already close to you - your actions may result in them damaging your tailgate. Such things can actually temporarily blind a person. The best thing to do is to not worry about the tailgater and continue driving in a safe manner. If it's too dangerous - let them by or pull over and wait for them to get ahead of you, they're going faster anyways why not let them by?There are already bumper stickers that have anti tailgating slogans on them. My favorite is "Draft SUV drivers first!"
  15. Hey if some girls were pointing at me and had the lip movements hot in it - I would definately not be mad. I would start walking to them and my girlfriend would knock me out before I my first step landed! Anyways, the point of that advert was to just stop using those kinds of words, it isn't needed and adds nothing to the conversation. What makes the difference if the guy is white or black, all that matters to the girls is he is hot. And it's all that should matter - besides you know - who the person actually is. Racism jokes are sometimes good because it takes steam away from the real hatred that is experienced in real life. Though many a time they are way offbase. The best thing to do would just be to leave these kinds of jokes out of conversations and take them out of theatres - anyone can come up with these kinds of jokes anyways, they're easy!
  16. Ah, you should of known it was doomed from the start. First off you aren't ready to date if you can't ask the person out yourself, something my parents taught me from maybe the third grade. But most of all you should had known what would happen when he dumped his current girlfriend for you when he didn't even know you. Reason says if he was so quick to dump her - he would do the same to you. Didn't your momma teach ya that? Hehe. But one's first significant other is special - no matter the outcome or specifics. Mine was in the first grade and I got one of my friends to ask her to be my girlfriend. We even kissed! Haha. Too funny. We 'went out' for like a month and then broke up for a reason I don't remember. All I know is the friend I got to ask her out ended up going out with her later in the year and we thought it was so cool that we had dated the same girl. Ah, weird little kids were we.
  17. I wouldn't have any use for the so-called quantum computers. I don't see the prices coming down anytime in the future - especially during our lifetime. Though I figure if we can expand on these types of computers we could easily create a robot with a decent AI that is able to do things like the robots in the movies. A few weeks ago I saw a television show about a robot that can 'learn' things. Maybe it was on national geographic, I don't know.
  18. That's a good way to protest. (Though the people without the cards should be the ones being silent! - haha) It points out that there are many more LBGT people around you than one might expect - even some the anti's see as friends - maybe it will bring them to accept and possibly even embrace those LBGT people for who they really are. I'm straight and think that LBGT people should be able to do what they want, their body - their life - their choice. Thats why I live in America... because we should be free to do what we want to do, as long as it doesn't affect others in a harmful way. Many anti-LBGT people are so crazy and extreme... some of them just need to keep their mouth shut. Last semester an extreme right wing Christian evangelist came to my college campus to judge us. Anyone who didn't agree with him were called sinners and told in a scream that they were going to hell. Isn't that so nice?
  19. Nice signatures. I don't like the background too much on the car one, maybe it's just the color, I don't know, it kind of hurts my eyes. The background of the spiderman one is nice and the render fits well with the colors. Your font is really plain, try adding some effects on them! Maybe a little shadow, gradient overlay or something. And for the car one a wind blast might be neat...For one week, your work is good.
  20. Try ShadowBane if you like PvP. Try Tibia if you like the old NES. Secondlife is popular though I don't play it, I've seen it get news coverage a lot lately. I cannot think of others at the moment that are free. Though there are many.
  21. A lot of religion has some truths to it - that's what makes them believable. If people made up a religion that didn't have some truth to it and was totally incomprehinsible there would be no followers and not many would ever hear about it. Though the 'true religion' could actually have been one of those. According to NewScientist an aboriginal peoples of Australia have the oldest religion on Earth. They say this cause supposedly they found some cave paintings that are around 6,000 years old. The top hit on Google says Hinduism is the oldest religion, still others say witchcraft. Yahoo! Answers says Zoroastrianism (a religion once practiced by today's Iranians) is the oldest religion which began around 1000 BC. Though it says this religion is monotheistic, and I thought the first religions were polytheistic.

    Flexibility

I would say that flexibility is more important than muscles. It's great to be strong but unflexible people get hurt a lot. And in sports (besides weight lifting) you need to be able to take bodily punishment and be able to make cut moves and be fast. With muscles alone you might be able to hold your ground but if you get twisted or need to move to do something someone weaker that has great agility will be better.cough and i love my flexible girlfriend cough
  23. Well your sidebar is very good and neat looking. Though the rest of your site isn't very appealing. You should add some kind of content box for your content and move the waterfall background to be the background of the content box or something. Your site doesn't have much content, I assume you haven't finished it or something. What are you planning for the full site? A personal web portal? Cause you basically have the same content (and more) on your Google page.
  24. Haha, you don't like violence? But it's so fun to see on the screen! I won't deny the fact that there is lots of violence in this movie - that's made clear by the previews, and I can't say the violence is spaced out, its more like wham! bam! woopow! But that's the fun part, you will not yawn during this movie! Not only is the violence fun but it is comedic at the same time... what else can you ask for? Scary movies now-a-days aren't scary at all and are laughable - even when they are trying to be serious. But this movie seems to know exactly what it is, that it will have stupid funny parts but it also doesn't take it over the top to where it's retarded and pisses you off (Jackass - for example, both of those movies sucked too hard). The zombie part (the first film) is gory as hell but what do you expect - it's a zombie movie. And the car chase film has little parts where it is gory but I'd say it is a little more violent because it seems possible in real life - but you'll sure get a kick out of it. My girl and I left with huge smiles on our faces after this movie - it was a blast.
  25. I would also say it is both. But to be great you need to be a decent manipulator because if you can't get people behind you, you cannot do anything. A manipulator sounds like another word for leader. The leader of a team isn't always the best but he can get the most out of those around him. Also you can't really say who is playing for themselves in sports to who is playing for the team. In my opinion, unless you're playing for free, are willing to take paycuts, don't mind sitting on the bench, or whatever you are playing mostly for yourself. Though that isn't to say you don't love the team just because you aren't willing to do those things, I mean who wouldn't welcome the money if they can get it? You have to be realistic, but to say that most people are just great - is being really... really naive. I'd put my money on most of the people being manipulators.
