It is just purely impossible to travel backwards in time... Imagine a rocket ship with rockets positioned at the back... There is no way for it to "reverse" same thign with time... Meaning the reversing time would be impossible...We can't actually go forward in time... But by manipulating time (Well, not actually US manipulationg time, the black hole would be and we'd be just using the black hole for good use...), we can possibly seal some things/people in like a "Time Capsule" which time will go normally for them, but the world around them (Outside of the dilation field), Time would seem to go extremely fast...Black Holes distort time... And if white holes do exist, here's a theory... If time goes slower the closer you get to a black hole, then once you get inside (i.e. past the event horizon), then time should go backwards, meaning if white holes do exist, they are probably from the future... Let me put this into an example... Imagine a cassette tape... We are currently moving along at "Fast Forward" speed... We enter the time dilation created by the black hole, and we go into "Play", as yo uenter the event horizon, it goes to "Pause"... The cassette (i.e. Time, stops altogether...)... ... Now we start going backwards as you're inside the black hole, travelling through the wormhole... We go to "Rewind"... Time goes along like normal for you, but it is changing on the outside world... Time rewinds faster and faster until you exit the white hole (You won't be alive, so... eh... Theory can't be proved... ) To you, it would've been normal time, but... Time would've reversed...The only flaw to that, it (the whitehole), should eject you at the same period of time you entered the dilation field... Since time is sped up, and then reversed... So.. Yeah...

V3 Credit System Hosting Requirements

No... Xisto doesn't use Google adsense's ads because Opaque has not had a very good history with them... (You'll find it in the Xisto Story)...But... We are talking Simcity here... Sure, Opaque might have lots of money... But that's not the thing... The thing is... The revenue of all the Xisto networked sites have to generate must cover all the costs all the networked sites cost (Which, I would say is NOT cheap... )...Not only does it have to cover the cost of all the sites run by Xisto... It would also have to give the people that made Xisto some generous profit... (i.e. $1 IS a profit, but its NOT worth all the hard work gone into Xisto and all its networked sites...)...I'm sure Xisto - Web Hosting makes lots of money, and that the ads displayed to non-registered members generate revenue as well... But... With the new MyCENT thing, Xisto is basically allowing people have access to the Xisto - Web Hosting plans for free just in exchange for frequent forum posts... I myself, think that this is a godsend and is a wonderful idea (In the boots of a customer...)... But... If I were to be poupt into the boots of an administrator, this would be like paying 20% extra tax! -

It will cost Xisto a LOT fo money. Sure... All the new content will raise Xisto's pagerank at a dramatic speed... Though, I don't think its worth it... This is basically the Credit System "To the next level" Where you make "money" through posting and its actually "real" money... This is risky... Xisto will surely get a whole new inrush of new members and all that.... But... We're basically getting Xisto - Web Hosting for free! Seriously... I really do think that admins should reconsider "MyCENT"... It will put a huge dent in Xisto's "treasury"... Though... If the admins placed an advertisement, and a "Donate" Button, I think Xisto/Xisto should do all right... -
First of all... I was never really good at flash...Before you start making flash stuff... Make sure you can create the graphics... Familiarise yourself with either The GIMP (free) or... Photoshop CS3 (not-so-free)... Though, if you want to render 3D models, Blender (Free) or 3DS MAX (not-so-free... Very expensive...)... After you can make pretty good graphics... You'd probably want to get Adobe's Flash CS3, I wouldn't recommend you go straight for it as it is a bit expensive... Get the trial first... After you can make simple slide animations, etc... Learn to use the more advanced features and ultimately... Actionscript...There is no need for specific hardware, although... 2GB minimum of RAM is recommended, since If say, you have Photoshop, Firefox (with 5+ tabs), and Flash CS3 open at the same time rendering your flash thing it can use quite a lot of RAM... That's basically it... Check out http://www.w3schools.com/ for some tips and that...

You cannot go back in time. Though you can go forward in time. Technically it is not time travel. Time isn't relative. In the different parts of the universe, events are happening at different speeds. We can't create time. But we can manipulate it. A black hole will slow down time. The close you get to the black hole, the slower time would go. And if you go to the event horizon, time stops completely. Meaning that a person will probably never actually feel themselves reaching the event horizon, because if this theory is correct, then there probably wouldn't be enough time for the nerves to send their "messages" back to the brain for the human to recognise it.So... It is impossible to physcially go back in time. But we can go forward in time. Technically it isn;t going forward in time, because all the events pass at a normal "speed" but you're merely in a "dilation field" where time is warped... So... Although time would seem to be going very fast around you, to them, you would be "moving" very slowly... While to your it is normal... Heck.... Some extremely advanced aliens might be trapping us in an artificially created dilation field just to stop us advancing at a "normal" pace... :?

Trap17 is a very good webhost. The only thing I dislike about it is that you can't "freeze" you account at will. So here I am posting as I am running out of credits... :PAnyway...I started using Xisto as a backup as well. But then I looked "at the fineprint" of my previous host, and decided to leave them. And here I am now... At Xisto...I think I will be staying here for quite a long while. Though I might terminate my hosting sometime soon, if I decide so...For free hosting, Xisto has a 10/10 for everything except for uptime. That part with the server change really messed up things... So I give that a 9/10 a tiny blotch on Xisto's perfect record...

RokBridge is good... I've used it before and the only thing it can't quite "synchronise" with phpBB is the user interests, etc... But otherwise RokBridge is good...

If its been "hashed properly" and my that I mean, all traces of the original password can't be found in lets say the cache...Then the only way to crack the password is to brute force it... Which would take a LOT of computing to brute force a MD5 hash with salts...There is no 100% secure type of encryption, because even though if the malicious user doesn't know how to crack it, they can easily plant a key logger on the victim's computer (Though a password that is entered through a custom made "AJAX keypad" would be immune), the malicious user would be able to gain knowledge of the password, and maybe even crack the code...There is no need for some special type of encryption unless you're working for the Pentagon or CIA or KGB or something... MDF and salts do the trick...

Verified Paypal Account Verify an account w/o CC?
csp4.0 replied to NelsonTR4N's topic in Business Forum
If you have a bank account, you can get verified... Paypal deposits like $0.01 or something into a specified bank account and you enter the specific amount of money...But if you also don't have a bank account, then you can't get verified... Credit Card and Bank Deposits are the only ways I know of... And I doubt something as big as PayPal would have any "bugs" in their system that can be cheated on anyone less of a computer hacker that can DoS Google and get Google offline for 10 seconds... -
Use ESET's NOD32 as your usual antivirus and firewall etc...But every once in a while, you should get Spybot S&D and scan your computer for possible spyware or unfriendly cookies you may have picked up while browsing the net...But, no single antivirus can detect and remove every single virus out there...Which is why you should keep a version or two of "Malware Bytes' Antimalware" software... It is very good, though it doesn't have a very good heusteristics program which is why NOD32 is good... I had a virus like 2 days ago... I had NOD32 delete all of the infected files... But the same popup kept reappeaing... So... I used Spybot S&D to scan for it in the registry, found lots of cookies but nothing...I ran Malwarebytes' Antimalware and it completely obliterated it... And just to be safe, I ran ComboFix to remove cached/temporary files that might still be harbouring that darned virus...

If someone was DoS'ing your site, then entire Xisto network will have been affected... So... Unless the Xisto network is being DoSed, there wouldn't anything to do with your images not showing...Now... The thing is... You should go into cPanel and make sure hotlinking images is disabled, and see if that makes a difference... If it does then turn it back on and type in your site's address in the exclude box and see if it does anything...If the above doesn't work, you need to go to file manager (Though a good FTP program will be preferred), go to where ever the images are stored and make sure the files ar CHMOD'd to that everyone can see them and excecute them but can't write on them... (Can't remember the exact CHMOD value )If that still doesn't work, re-upload IPB again and see if that helps...If ALL fails, contact Xisto - Support and see if they can do anything to help...

aww... I wanted to hear the long story... ^_^Anyway... Sad to hear that... Poor ol' Mac... :DBut anyway... If it wasn't on when it got soaked in the rain, it probably didn't short circuit, meaning if it wasn't on when it got soaked in the rain, then it should still be alive, but I'm afraid the data on the HDD might be wiped clean...I would just sit back, let it dry and it should be ok... minus the data on the hard drive if you're unlucky...But when you do turn it on after you're sure its completely dry, take the battery out before you turn it on and power it using mains (And I hope the AC/DC power pack didn't get soaked along with it... It should be fine... See this is why people need water-proofed, military-grade laptops...

Why have phpBB3 + Joomla! When you can have phpBB3 by itself!?phpBB3 has a very customizable "engine" that allows it to be used as a very powerful CMS... You can easily add a portal such as Stargate Portal, or something that will make your forum fully integrated with your portal...I'm not writing this just to advertise phpBB... But it is good software, and with just a few lines of code, you can almost integrate any website into phpBB3...So... Even though Joomla! is pretty powerful, it will still need a bridge so that it can share sessions, etc with phpBB... I have tried many bridges and the only bridge that is quite stable doesn't work very well... And if people have profiles, they would still need to update both sides... :lol:But... If you have the time to mod phpBB, then by all means do it, but if you have no option (or time), go with Joomla! and phpBB... A solution to not use the bridges would simply be to disable registration on the Joomla! board...

To have possible style creators know exactly what you're talking about... I would suggest you start off with some "inspirations" or "ideas" on how the layout/colour scheme might look...Also consider if you are using a CMS/Forum software (BBS)... If you do... It would be much harder to make...

Yes... I agree with bishoujo...Crop circles are man-made... There is no reason for the military or and aliens to make crop circles! I say, within a few years, someone should start up a "Crop Circle Challenge" where people make the best crop circles with only basic equipment (i.e. stakes, wire, spray paint, grass(or so) cutting tool)...But if we go on to another topic, (i.e. Burmuda Triangle, etc), the outcome would be VERY different...
-
Its FACT that most crop circles are in deed hoaxes...They can easily be hoaxed and recreated using basic tools (i.e. some stakes, a hammer, grass/wheat/etc cutting equipment, and some wire)...There is no reason for the military to have anything to do with crop circles...And there is no reason for aliens to create crop circles as well... If there was an alien race wanting to make contact, they wouldn't try and make contact through some random crop circles...

Here is what you should do...Empty out the .htaccess file completely...Delete your website files and upload them again using cPanel Filemanager's uploader... Everything should be back to normal again...
-
On close inspection, I think I found the problem... I found this... in the code, That is most likely the problem... Did you upload your files via the cPanel File manager or FTP? Because if through FTP, make sure you didn't upload the files with a binary upload...

Light At The Speed Of Light All about lights properties
csp4.0 replied to curtis07's topic in Science and Technology
You can't go faster than the speed of light, but technically you can but technically you aren't either... It isn't possible to go faster than the speed of light, but it IS possible to break the speed barrier of 300,000 kilometres per second...You just have to speed up the speed of light, kind of like a wind tunnel... Light is made of photons, if you compress the photons, they have to go somewhere...Anyway... If a star is travelling away from us at the speed of light (300,000 kilometres and hour), light would still radiate from it, meaning that all we would see is the star in a "suspended animation" because even though light is travelling at the speed of light, the star is moving at the speed of light meaning the light would seem to stay still... And to see the star we would have to travel along the light radiated off of the star...If we were to apply the "light tunnel" effect, and move away from the star and look back at the star, yes we would see it "phase" through time, but we wouldn't actually be moving backwards in time, becasue all we'd be doing is seeing the light radiated off the star billions of years ago... But... The thing with that idea is... We aren't actually travelling faster than light. We are speeding the light around us, meaning that we wouldn't actually see the star going backwards in time... BUT... If the start was moving away from us at the speed of light and we were travelling away from it... We would never actually see the star because... The star would be moving away, the light would seem to stand still if we wre stationary, but because we're moving away at the speed of light, the light radiated off that star would never reach us and so we would never see that star... However... If the star was moving away from us at the speed of light, and we were chasing it at the speed of light, we would see the star normally as if both us and the star were stationary. Though... If we were travelling at twice the speed of light (because of the light tunnel), chasing after the star, we would see the star's evolution sped up...Light is confusing, me writing this had me confused several times before I was pretty sure I was writing the right thing and not trying to confuse any of you who might read this because I got confused... *confused emoticon* -
Recommended Server-side Programming Language
csp4.0 replied to karlosvalencia's topic in General Discussion
PHP and SQL is a must, though consider using some CGI scripts, i.e. Perl, Python to make the experience better for the user...For your purpose of creating records accessible only after the correct password has been entered, I would suggest you to store the information in a SQL database and have a PHP file retrieve the data after the correct password has been entered... -
I don't like Simcity Societies..As usual... EA ruin the series... If you have played the older Simcity games then you would know exactly what I'm talking about...Sure EA has kept some of the features that made the older Simcity games fun (i.e. the Disasters mainly...)But EA has ruined the essence of Simcity itself! I mean, in societies, you can't even build a city anymore! It is more like managing a small town where you can only build several buildings...I would've liked the game if EA just made it "Societies", but I reckon this is another "C&C: Generals" type of game where they put it under the name they want it to sell under but the game is nothing like the previous games...

Its common sense not to host warez, cracks, etc...But also Xisto doesn't allow hosting of bandwidth intensive things...i.e. You can't host a proxy or a mirror site...

I find StargateWars Really good... The good thing (atleast for me) is that there isn't any "rounds" where after a certain period of time, everything resets and you have to start again... Also, there isn't any limit to who you can attack... It has over 90 thousand (90,000) members and after you get enough Glory & Reputation you ascend which grants you access to the ascended server which is a server for only those that have ascended... SGW is a very good Text Based MMORPG if you ask me... I plan on playing it for a LONG time...
