before we start thinking about living on other planets, lets first imagine how we would live therewe can't make space stations yet (i'm leaving the nasa ones for biostuff and observation away), but a seriously big oneif we can make such stations, then interplanetary travel will be an optionnow it already takes almost a week to go to the moon, imagine travelling to marsanother thing that we need to improve => the rocket engines, they are way too weak to travel at a faster speedbut rocket engines are another topic ^^also what would we grow there for food ? terraforming might be a consideration, but as "cerebral statis" tells us, it will take a century to terraform that planetif i could influence some decisions on earth, i'd consider to start terraforming a small piece already and then expand on time, or just test if terraforming would work on that planet, you never know what happenssince no one ever tried it before, the terraforming process, how would we know if the ground is properly formed for colony civilisation?? growing plants might be an option but another problem then, NO AIR ?unless they start thinking about building an outpost or space station, they will never know how to make stuff properlyit will take billions of cash to create such things, and to get them into space, including fitting them together and proplery checking for any holes or misplaced thingshaving the thoughts of an outpost / space station keeps the human race dreaming, but if it will ever happen, thats for the future... now we can only create the beginning of a new timejust in case our planet says "screw you" and decides to kick us off the surface by all kinds of natural disasterswell i hope nasa or other space companies are already thinking of planetarial stations and housing (just in case ^^)if they are, hopefully they do some testings soon... else we're gonna get bored afterall

like dwayne12 said, AI programs will be created to think like we think most likelyAI is meant to think on it's own and to do its own actions, but today that AI isn't advanced enough to learn on its ownit still needs some kind of teacher like us, we show it multiple times what to do, and perhaps some programs gain the ability to store that technique in their memory banks (I don't know if that is currently available yet)but check the inventions in Japan / China, they are making robots that interact if the user does something in front of themalso i heard they are going to make robots more humanoid (shape and size) and that will be one step in the computers victory for a possible take overi think i'm gonna buy myself some kind of anti electronic device just in case ^^

lol i'm gonna tell my way storylike, if its allowed when i was looking for a perfect hosting service which also offered mysql databases & php, i first found 1000mb or something like that, which gave me a lot of free webspace, a few mysql databases and php services all went fine untill i started uploading all my project's stuff, 5 hours of uploading and no error, suddenly at 97% the terror began .htaccess files not allowed and other *BLEEP* occurred ... client contact service sucked majorly and no responses on your questions for like erm 10 days, that was enough for me to move away the next host i encountered was byethost which was good, a lot better then that silly 1000mb thing but only if they didn't have so much downtime when an error occured then suddenly i found Xisto and i heard that name somewhere else too, i thought it was in the game half-life 1/2 or counter-strike that i saw some publicity on the game servers when i registered i read about the posting system, and since there are a lot of topics here to reply to, it's a lot more fun then just click and upload and wait for responses by the hosts now i'm still on Xisto and i like this community, so why leaving ? i stay

well for making iso's and burning them I use 2 programs - UltraIso it can make iso's, unregistered version has a limit, but heh google is your friend, enough hacked versions on the net ^^ the program allows you to make a copy of a cd / dvd to lots of image files ( ISO / MDF / other ), also it has a capability of making virtual drives for running your iso's - Sonic Record Now good program which doesn't need a lot of user interaction, it chooses the best burning speed itself for the best performance I've never encountered any 'buffer underruns' with this program also it has a very good rate of burning files per second, since a full DVD 4,4 gig took 10 minutes maximum for running ISO or other image files, the best program is DAEMON TOOLS

first of all before you change to vista, beware some stuff- almost every old program you got will have compability problems on vista (you'll get enough warnings from vista while installing the programs)- the prize for vista isn't something to laugh with, from expensive to even more expensive- before being able to run vista smoothly or with bit of lag, your pc has to be somewhat new in the line of pc's from todaya pc that is around the 4a5 years old will not be able to run vista smoothly, unless you composed it yourselfand be very open for a lot of errors and crashes of programs that you might encounter while running vista (personal experience ^^)i got a brand new pc from 1 year ago (2 gig ram, 4,4 ghz cpu 64bit, Geforce 7600GS) and got vista business, still i see some errors and slow downs from vista while starting up some programs that didn't slow down xp at allbut heh i guess it's my fault ^^ too much background programsstill i would prefer linux about windows, because of one major point ==> ERRORS in the system, almost NO crashes and a very good system for running on serversand the major difference between windows xp and windows vista is => usage of a lot more hardware nothing else

well even if the games are cheating upon us, it would surely be terribly boring to see something go up in smoke (if that is even possible in space) without any sounds. games are made to be fun and to entertain the players, and sounds are surely a great part in entertaining because they give the extra push with the graphics. graphics and animated stuff on your screen are nice, but without the sounds they would get boring fastalso everyone should know that space is soundless, since their is no air and kinda nothing for sounds to move inso let those guys mess with physics since they only make our life better, unless you don't watch movies or play games

every year there are new technologies invented which are always better and betterimagine 10 years ago, if you would have spoken about a hard disk drive from 500 gig, they would have called you an idiotthat's how it's supposed to be going afterall, if there were no more technology inventions, i guess this world would be amazingly boringit's the same on the games side, if the games would be the same like 10 years ago, omg i wouldn't even wanna think about it ^^they get heavier and heavier to run and their graphics own compared to the ones from many years agoif you people know the game "silent hill 2" (oldy) and the newer version "silent hill 4: the room", just check the graphics and the movement controls, i laughed my *bottom* off when i installed the oldy and started playing itthe newer the games, the more heavy they are and the more heavy equipment they need to operatethats our future
