    Strippers

Um, one little caveat due to Trystim's post. I was not trying to say that I get these propositions all the time, though I think it may be higher due to the fact that my club used to be really bad about turning a blind eye to what was going on, as he said. But, after they brought back the original General Manager from when the club first opened, I think it's cleaned up drastically. First off, on day shift at least, we all work together to try and make sure that everyone can at least have the chance to try and make some money. We're a closeknit group of probably five girls and we all know how easily it would be to lose our job simply for a little extra money, and I don't think any one of us think it's even remotely worth it. (Plus the fact that you never know when or if the manager at the time's gonna come back and check on you kinda helps matters some, especially when it comes to explaining to the customers exactly why we'll only give them dances.) I personally think that management has a big part to do with the demeanor of a club in regards to extras. If they keep a tight rein on the dancers when it comes to what is allowed, it makes it easier for the girls to say no, since they know that management will back them up if worst comes to worst. But, in some of the clubs I've worked in in Tampa, the management either doesn't care what happens with the girls, or they just care about how much money they can pull in. Either way, it hurts the ability the ladies have to say no, even when they want to.

    Strippers

Well, actually, I think I've been pretty lucky in that aspect, mostly, I believe, for one of two reasons. Firstly, unlike most girls in this business, I work the day shift (monday thru friday 12pm to 8 pm). This means I generally get more of the people who are there simply to go to the club, though I do get about 20% of them every day asking to take me out to dinner and variations on that theme. But, I think the other reason why I haven't had anything seriously bad happen is that I make it a point to clearly outline the boundaries to all my customers and also I never actually go straight home when I leave work. I also don't ever tell people where I live.
  4. My site is nevernormal.com, which if you knew me, you'd understand why it's so appropriate. Anyways, I'm including both a link to it, and a screencap of my latest design, which is mostly all php format for ease of modification. NeverNormal.com And yes, that's me and my man.

    Strippers

First, sorry to the admin if I am not allowed to post about this kind of topic, but I couldn't find anything in the rules, though I may be interpreting them wrong. Anyways, here's my little rant about my profession. I am a dancer and have been one for the past three years. I dance- nothing more. I don't feel that clubs are the proper place for the kind of things that I get asked about a good portion of the time. (To keep this post under Xisto guidelines, I will refer to those things as extras.) Anyways, I'm sorry, but what is up with every Johnny come lately that walks in off the street automatically assuming that, because I am a dancer, that that must necessitate that I will give extras. HUH?!? I am an adult performer, there to entertain people and give dances, not act like I work in videos, if you know what I mean. Why do people assume this? Is it because of the fact that it's how we are portrayed in the media? Is it because they might have been more successful in other clubs or in other cities? What could possibly be the impetus for men to automatically assume that you will 1) do it and 2) want to do that. I'm sorry, but I don't even like people trying to, well, suck. EWWWW! Not only that, but I also have issues with people that think that just because they've paid for me to dance for them, that they get carte blanche to do whatever they wish. Since when was that part of the agreement? But, I think that I have figured out the two catgories that customers inevitably fall into: boys and gentlemen. The boys think that everything is a right, but gentlemen understand everything is a priveledge. What do ya'll think about this?

    Do You Agree

No, I would say that there are a lot of reasons why there are bad drivers on the roads all over the place. I grew up in the Washington DC area and my father was fond of saying that if a couple of flakes hit the ground, a thousand flakes would hit the roads. Washington is notorious for it's bad drivers, but, then again, so is my current location in Tampa Florida. But, I think that Washington is one up on Tampa simply because of these nice little diplomats who, even if they're the cause of any accident you might be in, you've gotta pay for the damages for both cars! Not only that, but Washington has a lot of people visiting every year who are used to driving on the opposite side of the road with different traffic restrictions and rules. Now, when it comes to Tampa, I'd have to say that the biggest problem, drivers wise, has to be the lack of courtesy present in the entire Tampa metro area. I mean, there was a local reporter who asked a gentleman if he ever used his turn signal to indicate where he was going. His reply? "Why do you need to know where I'm going?" (So we can stay out of your way, asswipe.) I don't think that the people down here understand how to drive properly. They know how to get from one place to another, and they want to do that in the least amount of time possible. This lends itself to more accidents, since it's been proven that it's harder to stop quickly at faster speeds. If everybody would just slow the f*** down and realize that you're still going to get there, and, normally speaking, what's a couple of minutes in the large scheme of things? I think the reason we have so many road rage incidents nowadays is due to the fact that people are far too impatient.
  7. Man, I've been doing web design off and on for about nine years now, and think I've run the entire gamut when it comes to free servers, though I don't think I'd ever be able to remember ALL of them, but here's a list of a few I'd flame: Angelfire- constant popups, but was good for a newbie like me, even though my first layouts were horrid. Web1000- found out a couple months into my hosting that only the US and Canada could view sites on their servers, and I have a lot of international traffic, so that wouldn't have worked too well for long. CoolFreePages- Was all well and good- had php capabilities and FTP and everything, but apparently they send in header and footer text for popups on any and all pages, and that would screw with the syntax of the php so that it wouldn't display anything like it was supposed to. HowIGotRich- This was my friend's server and since I already had another more, well mature, site with him, he said that once it was up and running, he'd host my personal domain. Well, he eventually had an out and out fight with my video editor boyfriend about basically just helping other people (it's long and involved, and would include topics not permitted on this forum) and I got a form letter from his coworker (our former best friend) that I needed to move nevernormal, since it would not be moved to the new server and to notify him when I had it moved. I'm on another friend's server right now, but I have little to no control panel access, and my php files aren't showing up properly, and it's all really very frustrating, but I'll be patient to wait to have the proper number of correctly lengthy posts.
  8. Okay, I've just sat here and read all four pages of this discussion so far, so here's my two cents on the subject. First off, some people have mentioned that there are soldiers over in Iraq who do not want to be there. Well, last time I checked, joining the armed services was an entirely VOLUNTARY thing. Granted, one service may try to show why they're better than the others, but in the end, it is the soldier who makes the choice to join. I think that the people that are over there whining about being stuck there- what did you expect? I bet those who didn't wanna be there thought that they'd just have to help out two weekends a month or some such crap like that. I think there are some kids in the military who didn't really think things through before they enlisted, and now they're stuck with the decisions they've made. Regardless though, anyone in the military has the duty to uphold the beliefs of this country, and go where they are sent, because they must follow orders. But, most people in the military, such as my brother, my cousin, and both of my grandfathers, all understood that when they put that uniform on, they were ascribing to a higher authority and could no longer, for the time being, do whatever they wished when they wished. Now, second point, about the war- first, I want to say that I agree with dexter about how much faith we should put in the UN. I think that they think that since they have their offices here in the US, that they can boss us around on anything that they don't like us doing. (Fat chance.) Anyways, everybody talks about how Bush shouldn't have gone in, since he said there were WMDs in Iraq, and nobody found anything. Well, actually, that was not Bush's fault- he was given faulty intel reports, which we can thank Clinton for when he slashed the intelligence budget almost in half back when he had been president. But I digress. The war in Iraq (and Afghanistan) was done to prove to people that you can't just come over here and decide to blow up 3000 of our people and get away with it scot free.To sum up, I think that anyone who has decided, whether now or in the past, to be a part of the military and serve our country to the point of death, if necessary, should be thanked and celebrated, since not everyone can do what they decided to.
  9. I have a hotmail account, did what you said, and I now have 250 megs.
  10. The one book everyone ought to pick up about Stephen King is The World According to Stephen King which explains about how ALL of his books are somehow intertwined, even if you couldn't really see it. Right now, I'm in the middle of Gerald's Game
  11. Hey all. Am new here; found out about this site via tfl.org on their list of hosting sites, and thought that this site had a great idea.
