Don't know you, but will say goodbye! Hope you drop by once in a while and check in If you don't: have a great life! All the best to you and yours

I'd definitely have to go with the computer - we can do so much with it and, if you think about it, we depend on it so much. It provides us with knowledge, helps businesses, and opens up so much of the world to us! Definitely not something we can live without anymore. That said, I am the type of person who sometimes wonders if we weren't better off going back to the simple things. Maybe the Amish are living like we all should? I mean, how much could they possibly be contributing to our little global warming problem? LOL

Same here!! LOL I first read it in elementry school (along with "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") and it was the first book to ever make me bawl like a baby! Such a great book - can't wait to see the latest film!

Do You Know How To Cook? Who cooks their own food?
Erin replied to FLaKes's topic in Health & Fitness
I cook, but I don't make anything too extravagent... I simply lve making cakes and pies best of all - anything to add pounds to your body is fun to make! LOL ^_^I love to cook, but if I don't have "guidelines" (recipes, box directions, etc LOL) to follow I can get into big messes. LMAO I also have to know how "powerful" the stove I'm using is... I just moved into a new house (my house burnt in Sept) and so I had to use a relatives stove - not good... I burnt stuff and just made huge messes. LOL Still not use to my new stove yet so I'm being cautious - mostly using ovens and the microwaves right now. -
What's Patriotic What do you consider Patriotic?
Erin replied to BooZker's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm... well, I don't know if people would agree with me on this but I don't think you need to be a flag waver 24/7/365 to be a patriot. You should love your country but also be critical of it when you feel something isn't right. You don't need to support a chimp of a president and the abuse, rapes & murders of innocent humanbeings to be a patriot - to be a patriot you need to simply love your country... you don't need to blindly follow the government to do that.Does that make sense? LOL -
I don't know if I have a favorite "classic" book, but - to keep with the "favorite" part of the topic (LOL) - I've always adored Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House on the Prairie" books and I love "Charlotte's Web"

What Country To Do You Live In, And Rate It.
Erin replied to Fu Still Better's topic in General Discussion
I live in Canada. I'd give us maybe a 9/10 - I don't think any country is perfect. The only thing I really don't like about my country - aside from the lousy roads LOL - is the government. I'd love to be able to elect a new Prime Minister every 4 years instead of keeping some moron - like Jean Chretien - for 10+ years!! Luxembourg!! I used to follow the Royal Family and hope to visit there someday Probably never will though - I have a long list of countries I want to visit before I end up in the ground! LMAO India, India, India - how I love your Miss Aishwarya Rai!! My grandmother's best friend has a daughter who is doing missionary work in India with her husband (who is from India) and 2 daughters. She really loves the country, though their girls begged to go back to homeschooling (not too long after begging to go to school with their friends) because I guess their teachers were quite horrible - beating their pupils, etc. I don't recall hearing a complaint from her about India - aside from the stuff about her kids' school and the fact that she can't buy ant traps/spray there. LMAO -
Omg... I totally love Wal-Mart!! We just got one near us so it's been so great to get to go there a lot. The closest we one we had - until this past year - was about 1-2 hours away but now all we have to do is drive for 20 minutes and boom - WAL-MART! I do think I'm addicted, but I'm not too bad - I don't go everyday but if I do go into town, I make sure I stop there.

Ooooo... awesome!! I'm totally joining - love country music. Was basically RAISED on it! LOL Thanks for sharing!

I could go on and on about what I think about drugs, but I'll try and keep it short and sweet. :)If we're talking about perscription drugs, I'm a bit mixed on that. I agree with Tom Cruise and other Scientologists who say the drugging of children has gotten out of hand. Doctors seem a little too willing to drug up kids who simply neede to be disciplined and/or given the attention they need. But I also think that if a person needs help with anxiety (like me), etc then they should take them. Yes, they can sometimes be helped by a simple change in diet, etc but sometimes it's the only thing that can fully help someone. Now, as far as illegal drugs go... I'm totally against them. I've had to deal with a loser cousin who's only job is to beg or steal for money because of drugs (and alcohol). The only drug users I've dealt with in my life are just absolutely pathetic... and let's not even go into the lack of brain cells they seem to have after their "wonderful" little drugs have gone through their system a few times. Ick.

I haven't read it yet but hope to one day. It was one of James Dean's favorite books, which is how I heard about it. I don't think I had ever heard of it until I watched a documentry on him.

What Is The Weirdest Thing You Eat? regularly or occasionally.
Erin replied to arnz's topic in General Discussion
People think it's weird that I like to have bacon on my Subway tuna subs. AND I love to have TONS of mayo on ALL of my subs. Well, I shouldn't say TONS but it has to have enough that I can taste it - and it's best, to me, when it's coming out the ends of the sub as I'm eating it. :oOne time I actually ordered a pizza sub, and requested mayo on it... I got the WEIRDEST look, but it was SSSOOOO good! What else... well, I don't know if it's WEIRD, but I have to have sandwiches, bagels, etc loaded with the toppings. Like if I make a bagel with cream cheese, I want it loaded up with the cream cheese... can't STAND not tasting the cream cheese. It's like, if I want a tuna sandwich, why should I just put a tiny bit on? I want the tuna - LOAD ME UP! :) Sometimes I will take vanilla ice cream and put melted peanut butter on top of it. REALLY good! That's all I can think of right now... -
Weird - it's not letting me sign up? I went to check if they are still using invite codes and it says that they now only let people send them with mobile phones?? Then on other pages it says people can send their friends invites through e-mail. WEIRD. AND when I tried entering with my Google Account it said it it was invalid. Ergh. Google is majorly sucking right now! LOL

I've read that 2 asps were brought to her - at her own request - in a water jug and she then had them bite her arm. I've also heard at some point that she had 1 brought to her in a basket of figs and then had it bite her breast, though I think the water jug/2 asps/arm scenario is the correct version. You can read about it on her Wikipedia page or by doing a search for Cleopatra.

Here's what I got from the articles I've read:The reason they did a scan after all these years, from what I got from the article, is that it's kind of a "now or never" thing since King Tut's remains are in bad shape (I think they called it "the last stages of preservation"). It also said that the damage to his skull - which they had thought were signs of foul-play - may have been from when his gold mask was pried off 84 years ago, when they first found his tomb. And, according to them, the wound to his leg (a fracture to his thigh) possibly gave him a fatal infection (or even an enbolism(?)), which caused his death. They said the wound was unhealed when he died, since embalming fluid got into the wound.Though they say they will never know for sure what really caused his death because skin tissues, etc change with mummification. But, since the fracture was so bad, it most-likely was an infection. That's what I can remember from the articles... I might have messed up on some of it or didn't understand it right. They used big words and stuff so I gets confoozed :rolleyes:And anyway, I think they need to leave these mummys alone. Have some frickin' respect for the dead people, ya know? And with all the freaky stuff that happens when they discover these things, or try to sniff around them like with King Tut (the scanner went off with him, plus someone got sick, etc), I'd say THEY don't want to be messed with. Leave the corpses alone, please! Thanks

Thanks for the welcomes everyone! My name is, of course, Erin and I'm from New Brunswick, Canada. I like to read (true crime and biographies), love to paint and draw, and pretty much just learn and be creative. LOL Um, I'm a "Royal Watcher" - follow the Maktoum family of Dubai, UAE mostly. Had a life-long interest in the British royals until probably a year or two ago. I am also a little TOO up-to-date on celeb gossip. LMAO Huge fan of Marilyn Monroe - she's my idol and inspiration. I'm also a huge fan of "classic" Hollywood movies from the 30s, 40s, and 50s. Basically my brain is filled with more useless junk than stuff I should probably know. I think my being a college drop-out (twice ) is proof of that Actually the first time wasn't my doing but anyway... LOL I hope to host my Sharon Tate website here. I've had it for 3 years and until now never had a huge problem with my hosts. Now I'm just fed up with things and hope that this is the host for me. And, before I forget: I found out about Xisto on free-webhosts.com.

I heard about this a while back... can't remember where but it was quite interesting. Now, the question is: how did he obtain the leg wound. I also read some time ago that Cleopatra is thought to have been murdered rather than have committed suicide. I can't remember now who it was they said may have done it but it was kind of interesting. :rolleyes:Note to self: request cremation upon death. Do not let mad scientists, or freaky space aliens, dig you up.

What is going to happen years down the road when people look back on these wars and realize that thousands upon thousands of humanbeings were slaughtered for nothing? And, might I ask: does anyone realize that there are still soldiers in Afghanistan? Canadian troops are being killed there still... does anyone care? Last time I checked the news, they don't.Do I support the troops? Nope. Especially after Abu Ghraib came out. Since then more stuff has come out, including rapes and murders of normal citizens. Why should I support that?? I wouldn't support my own family member doing that crap let alone anyone else. And you can bet your last dollar there is much, much, MUCH more being kept from us. No support here, sorry!Oh, and in my opinion not being a crazed patriot does not mean you do not love your country. You don't have to blindly follow someone, or support senseless wars, to love your country. I love my country, regardless of my dislike for my government. I don't think myself or anyone else is a horrible person for having a liberal heart and mind. LOL

How Oj Simpson Did It Straight from the Horses Mouth
Erin replied to Cerebral Stasis's topic in General Discussion
The Goldman and Brown families will never see a dime from OJ. After the civil trial, he fled to Florida so he wouldn't be forced pay them - and he has said himself that he will NEVER give them a cent. OJ claims he was not given $3.5 million for the book and special but that the money he did recieve went to bills and to his kids - I don't buy any of that crap but anyway... LOL Denise Brown, Nicole's sister, says trust funds have been set up for the kids and money has yet to be deposited into them. And as far as him being broke... OJ pretty much blames Ron Goldman's dad, Fred, for him writing the book - saying that he was/is in so much debt because of all the lawsuits Fred has been filing against him (suits to try and get money from his signings, memorbilia sales, etc) so he had to write it to get some cash. -
All religions, just as all races, have their good people and have their bad people. Just because some looney decides that God wants him to kill another person, or a group of people, does not mean everyone who shares his religious views, or the color of his skin, are horrible people too. It makes them human. And if you can fault a person because of their religion - in my opinion - you are no better than he/she/they are.Should we be afraid of Islam? No. But you should be afraid of the small numbers of people in the world who want to do others harm - and they are of every culture, race and religion in the world.... not just from the Middle East.Just my opinion

The last book I read was "For Laci" by Sharon Rocha. I love reading true crime novels and this is one I was looking forward to for a while. It's about Laci Peterson and was written by her mother, Sharon. It was quite hard to read at times because it was so heartwrenching. You could just FEEL her pain. Currently I'm reading "Severed: The True Story of the Black Dahlia Murder" by John Gilmore.

Futurama Or The Simpsons what do you choose
Erin replied to Rap_Speedy's topic in General Discussion
I'll have to go with The Simpsons. :)I like Futurama but I don't find myself laughing as much while watching it as I do The Simpsons. Plus, I basically grew up with Homer & the Gang so there is a lot of sentiment with that show. Cannot wait for the movie! :)And speaking of The Simpsons - it's on my TV right now! LMAO -
This is what helped me... not sure if it will you but here's some advice from someone with similar problems :rolleyes:I have always had problems with stress & anger as well and I've found that, for me, seeing a doctor for it was the only way to solve it. I would get my mind off of what was bothering me, but then if something else came up and made me angry again, things would be twice as bad. Nothing seemed to completely work.I'm the type of person that can blow up at the tiniest thing, or feeling like I'm going to harm myself and/or someone else because my nerves bother me so badly. Things like someone tapping their fingers, crunching on candy or cereal, etc can just make me go postal. LOL :)Recently, because my stress levels were getting so high that I was having health issues (migraines, high blood pressure, etc), I saw a doctor and got placed on a low dose of Xanax. It's calmed me down tremendously. We're currently trying to get the dosage right because when it wears off between doses I can just blow up even more or just burst into tears. And yes, talking to people can help as well; plus, reading, staying active, cleaning, listening to music - ANYTHING to get your mind off of things can help calm you down. Music helps me most of all.You don't HAVE to resort to meds to control yourself but if all else fails, and things don't get better, you should at least discuss it with a doctor and see what they can do.

Poll Here:how Long Do You Use The Computer? How long?
Erin replied to lud@m@n's topic in General Discussion
I used to practically live on the internet a few years ago but now I am usually on about 6 hours. Some days I'm on for more than that because I have nothing better to do. LOLAnd I don't play games on the net... if I did, I'd never get off of here cause I can get obsessed with that stuff. LMAO
