  1. ok maby not.. i think it might just be mass pm's then...
  2. i dunno if its fixed or not but i did recieve a pm on december 31st... twas the mass pm for the award winners ... has anything changed around that time does anyone know?
  3. @ zyzzyvette's first post... i thought you were talking about me at first because i thought my post had all those things in it but it has just been a very long time since i posted this topic... so yea...found something else that "irks my nerves"...-Wrappers (e.g. m&m bags) that when you try to open you rip off all the little flaps that are supposed to help you open them so then you can't open it unless you cut it with scissors...will keep u posted
  4. Lol yea... it doesn't seem like much of a war.. to me a war a series of battles by two or more conflicting bodies that results in a winner and a looser... For it to be called a war is kind putting the U.S down because we have sent a lot of troops over there... and if we were fighting a "war" in the general meaning of the war... either we should have won... or something is wrong... I never really liked bush... but i just figure id point out that he thought about the environment... because i am an .... environmentalist so to speak?(Vote Ralph Nadar) jk jk
  5. We'll time machines are a bit over the top to think about... but a difference between years ago and years to come is that they were saying "i wonder if we will have flying cars" when they didn't really have the technology to make planes as small as we have now... but now were saying "were working on making flying cars" ... believe it or not there are flying cars already but they are not common place... they are for the rich and wealthy... but Nero does have a good point... i might not be around then... but who knows if the world will be around then... we could go to nuclear war and just blow the planet to dust... so who knows what will happen... the only thing the show can tell us is where were headed... not necessarily what will happen and it isn't completely nonsense... they are working on making it all possible... and eventually it all WILL be possible it just depends on if it is by 2057 or not
  6. hmm... if you dont say "on a molecular level" it kinda sounds like full metal alchemist stuff... sounds relatively possible but kinda dangerous... because isnt that splitting an atom and we all know splitting atoms can be messy
  7. ok.. i have made a bootable disk with the iso image... now what? i tried going to the boot loader at the startup and i selected the disk but then it just kinda... sat there... not doing anything? could someone... anyone... tell me what im doing wrong or how to do it right? thanks a million
  8. Well.. there is this show coming out on the discovery channel called "2057" and it is supposed to depict what life will be like in this year. As many "older" people in my family have told me... "We did the same thing back in my day, they said we were going to be flying cars and living in space but were not...", So we "all" might not be flying around in flying cars and things like that... but the possibility of everything being solar powered... that is a very reasonable assumption. In the commercial they also say things about tissue regeneration. Well, one of the things we have an advantage of over our grandparents and parents is back in their day... they had a long way to go before they got to that point... Our technology is already advanced unbelievably since then and there is virtually no place else for it to go except to the extremes... I'll be 67 years old (if i live that long) in the year 2007, and i know i might not be joyriding in the flying cars then but i would benefit from the tissue regeneration as i would probably need like 10 replaced hearts >.<... any ways i think it would be neat for all this to actually happen... how about you? Do you have any ideas of what life might be like in the year "2057"?
  9. Did anyone watch it? If you did... what did you think...I think it would be nice to follow through with some of those environmental plans... I like how he set things up in ten year goals... but considering all of those ten years will be under someone else's presidency, i think it takes a bit of the responsibility off of Bush... I also noticed that every time the guy behind him got up and clapped everyone else there did too... and when bush took a drink of water... so did the guy behind him (dunno his name >.<) just thought id point that out
  10. woh... totally killer dude... its painfull yet... addicting.. i cant stop staring at the colors .... tis strange... and if you notice that the links... they disappear for a second when the blue gets to them.... its.. weirdironically enough... now we can all say we know what hell looks like
  11. Ya know what Irks my Nerves?when people:- Say things when they have no clue what they mean... - Say they dont like when people do things and then do them themselves- When people say that their farts dont stink- The way Burger King tries to make everything cool- The way McDonalds doesnt try hard enough- That the Wii costs so much- That we stopped selling ipods and such to japan...That's what Irks My Nerves....
  12. It reminds me alot of x-box 360....i would tone down the brightness a lil bit.. ... a darker grey and green might be a better choice...maby add a lil flare or something to make it unique...they have some nice ipb scripts out there....
  13. Ok... recently i heard a song on the radio... and it just sounded like the most romantic song ive ever heard! and any body that knows me knows im a real sap for things like that.... ANYWAY... a couple days went by and i could not get the song outta my head... so then i got online and found out that it was "Hellogoodbye - Here (in your arms)"... so i proceeded to try to download it... couldn't .... so i went to myspace to listen to it... but their music never loads so i went to purevolume... only half the song... so i FOUND THE VID ON YOUTUBE! cute video, if u havent seen it... go watch it so... yea... love the song...thats my Hellogoodbye story... tell me urs
  14. i love rock/metal/alternative music so i just put heavy metal... but some of my most fav bands are system of a down, metallica, disturbed, avenged sevenfold... so on and so forth....but i also have this thing for 80's and 90's music... i get really nostalgic sometimes when i listen to alot of 90's music... but i love it any ways
  15. I would have to say the bicycle because bikes are one of the best ways to get around... they are good exercise, you can get where your going ALOT faster than walking, they don't hurt the environment, and on a bicycle.... just about every where you go can be considered the scenic route... If everyone used bicycles instead of car's we wouldn't be wasting as much money on gas and cars, we would be saving the world (literally) and there wouldn't be as many people that are obese... thats why i think that the bicycle is the best thing ever invented by a human...
  16. I am going to:1) Save up about $1000 (EASY since i got a job :P ... sadly, not at starbucks... but at a restaurant as a bus boy)2) Get a Gym Membership (and probably the nike +ipod thing)3) Get all my stuff done at the doctors4) Save up some more money so i can...5) BUY A CAR!!!Thats my new year's plan...
  17. ok... i have some music i wrote... and the only recording software i have is "windows sound recorder" wooo.... fancy.... any ways... i want to make a demo cd so whenever i get ready to i can send it off or let people listen to it... but! i want to edit some things first... because i am playing all the parts of the music... ie the guitar, bass, and drums... i have to mix them all together, sound recorder does let you do this but its kinda limited.... does anyone know any good/affordable software for this purpose... also... what do you think the next step should be to get... "discovered"?
  18. OK! this tutorial is inspired by a game at addictinggames.com... im not sure how many of you have played it but here it is: God's Playing Field Its a cute little game... but when i first played it i though HOW DOES IT DO THAT!!! and by that i mean dot he 3d with the mouse and then today i finally got around to making it... I used one of the oldest tricks in the book... so lets educate you a lil about flash... Flash does not support 3D directly, you have to find some way to make your own. You could develop some complicated system for which you could use for any and all of your 3D needs or you could just use this little technique... the 3 dimensions are X, Y and Z ... the only one's flash knows are X and Y... we have to create a variable for Z and use that to modify the X and Y values so that it "looks" 3d... ok? we do this by creating a scale ratio... or a number by which to multiply them by to make them look 3d ok start by creating a new movie that is 600 wide and 400 tall... Now create a ground picture... preferably a rectangle with a linear gradient (see example)... Now make an empty sprite and call it "thing".. inside of thing, draw an oval and then put a shadow under it (optional)... now click on the scene1 object and add this code: onLoad () { focalLength = 100; width = thing._width; height = thing._height; Mouse.hide();} What this does is it creates a focalLength to help us define our Z... the bigger the number... the smaller the increment of z... the smaller the number the bigger the increment of Z... so if you have 500, 1 Z could be about .5 inches and if you have 5, 1 Z could be about 5 inches... you could play with this number... but for the demonstration i used 100... we also saved our original width and height variables and hid the mouse... now underneath that add this code... onEnterFrame() { if (_ymouse <= (400 - thing._height/2)) { z = 200 -_ymouse; } thing._x = _xmouse; thing._y = 200 * (focalLength/(focalLength+z)); thing._width = width * (focalLength/(focalLength + z)); thing._height = height * (focalLength/(focalLength + z));} What it does is it restrains "thing" so that it is on the screen... it calculates Z by making the middle of the screen the origin and make the mouse's y variable control the Z instead of the y. Thing's X is Mouse's X, However, Thing's y you will notice that it changes depending on Z. so if Z is equal to ten, 200 * (100/(100+10)) = 200 * .9; meaning the bigger the number Z the further it is away from you... Then we do the same thing with the width and the height to give the proper scaling and then were done! You can then add some animations to thing and what not... (note* Flash users, whenever i say sprite, for you i mean movieclip... so just change the syntax and add the code to the layer that your movie clip is on instead of the scene) Preview: Squish : Could be used to make an ant squishing game of sorts >.<
  19. of course there is going to be a part 2... with editing and delete all functions and such... also i hope to make a wysiwyg editor for editing the main body with buttons to insert different information. like the post date the post author, viewers ip address and other things that you can do with php what u mean the data isnt really used?
  20. Ok, for this tutorial i am only going to show you how to add updates to your site simply by storing the information into a text file, and then displaying it with predefined formatting... OK lets get down to business... Lets start out by making a PHP file and call it mycms.php put this code at the top of the page. What this will do is allow us to edit the selected update when it comes time and show and hide the add an update field and validate the form.. if (id2 != '') expMenu(id2); } function expMenu(id) { var itm = null; if (document.getElementById) { itm = document.getElementById(id); } else if (document.all){ itm = document.all[id]; } else if (document.layers){ itm = document.layers[id]; } if (!itm) { // do nothing } else if (itm.style) { if (itm.style.display == "none") { itm.style.display = ""; } else { itm.style.display = "none"; } } else { itm.visibility = "show"; } } function ValidateForm(isMsg) { MessageLength = document.REPLIER.Post.value.length; errors = ""; if (isMsg == 1) { if (document.REPLIER.msg_title.value.length < 2) { errors = "You must enter a message title"; } } if (MessageLength < 2) { errors = "You must enter a message to post!"; } if (MessageMax !=0) { if (MessageLength > MessageMax) { errors = "The maximum allowed length is " + MessageMax + " characters. Current Characters linenums:0'><html><head><script language="javascript"> function ShowHide(id1, id2) { if (id1 != '') expMenu(id1); if (id2 != '') expMenu(id2); }function expMenu(id) { var itm = null; if (document.getElementById) { itm = document.getElementById(id); } else if (document.all){ itm = document.all[id]; } else if (document.layers){ itm = document.layers[id]; } if (!itm) { // do nothing } else if (itm.style) { if (itm.style.display == "none") { itm.style.display = ""; } else { itm.style.display = "none"; } } else { itm.visibility = "show"; } }function ValidateForm(isMsg) { MessageLength = document.REPLIER.Post.value.length; errors = ""; if (isMsg == 1) { if (document.REPLIER.msg_title.value.length < 2) { errors = "You must enter a message title"; } } if (MessageLength < 2) { errors = "You must enter a message to post!"; } if (MessageMax !=0) { if (MessageLength > MessageMax) { errors = "The maximum allowed length is " + MessageMax + " characters. Current Characters: " + MessageLength; } } if (errors != "" && Override == "") { alert(errors); return false; } else { document.REPLIER.submit.disabled = true; return true; } }function goupdates(){ uid = updateinfo.update.value; theurl = "mycms.php?action=edit&uid=" + uid; location.href = theurl;}</script></head> now... we will have a variable called "action" to tell the page exactly what to do. this will decide what to show, like if action is set to display it will display the updates or if it is set to edit then it will edit them... ect ect... right now we want to check and see if it is set to edit so that we can edit the updates. <?if(strtolower($_GET['action']) == "edit"){ ok... now we have to access our updates.txt file that we will create later on. If you have read my tutorial of flatfile membership systems you might know that i like to use the file() method and i also like to use is the explode() function... so lets see the code for this $updates = file('updates.txt');foreach($updates as $Key=> $Val){ $update[$Key] = explode("|##|", $Val);}?> Pretty simple, reads the file to an array then breaks it up into smaller arrays based on the location of |##| seperators. and now comes the fun part... making the gui... im not going to go into to much detail on explaining this because all this is is nothing more than a simple form which the information is filled out using php... so here we go: } ?> </SELECT></td><td>Title linenums:0'><center><table align="center"><tr><td rowspan="3"> <form name="updateinfo"><SELECT NAME=update SIZE=6 width=120 onChange="goupdates();"><?for($K = sizeof($updates) - 1; $K > 0 ; $K--) { echo "<option value='" . $K . "'>" . $update[$K][2];}?></SELECT></td><td>Title:</td><td><input type="text" name="title" width="100" value="<? if($_GET['uid']) echo $update[$_GET['uid']][2]; ?>"></td></tr><tr><td>Author:</td><td><input type="text" name="author" readonly='1' width="100" value="<? if($_GET['uid']) echo $update[$_GET['uid']][0]; ?>"></td></tr> <tr><td>Date:</td><td><input type="text" name="date" width="100" value="<? if($_GET['uid']) echo $update[$_GET['uid']][1]; ?>"></td></tr><tr><td colspan="3">Body:</td></tr><tr><td colspan="3"><textarea cols="40" rows="10" name="body" id="wysiwyg"><? if($_GET['uid']){ echo $update[$_GET['uid']][3];} ?></textarea> </form><form action="mycms.php?action=delete&uid=<? echo $_GET['uid']; ?>" method="POST"> </td></tr><tr><td colspan="3"><table width="100" align="center"><tr><td><input type="submit" value="Delete" width=100"></form></td><td><td><td><a href="java script:ShowHide('new_open','new_closed') "> <input type="button" value="Add" width="100" onClick="java script:ShowHide('topic_open','topic_closed')"> </a></td></tr></table></td></tr><tr><td colspan="3"><center><input type="button" value="Delete All" width="300"></center></td></tr></table><br><br><div id='topic_open' style='display:none;z-index:2;'> <div border-style='dashed'><form action="mycms.php?action=add" method="POST" name="REPLIER" onSubmit="return ValidateForm();" ><table width="500" border="0"><tr><td width="100"><font color="#000"><b>Post Title:</b></font></td><td width="400"><input type="text" size="40" maxlength="50" name="title" value="" tabindex="1" class="forminput" /></td></tr><tr><td width="100"><font color="#000000"><b>Author:</b></font></td><td width="400"><input type="text" size="40" maxlength="50" name="user" value="" tabindex="1" class="forminput" /></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2"><center> <textarea id="postbody" cols="80" rows="20" name="Post" tabindex="3" class="textinput"></textarea></center></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2"> <?print '<input type="hidden" name="name" value="' . $name .'" readonly>';?><center> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Post Update" tabindex="4" class="forminput"/></center> </td></tr></table></form> </div> </div></center><?} And thats it for the gui... now lets go on to the Add page just paste this after that code above and here it is... im not gonna go to much into this either because its basically the same thing as with the membership tutorial only applied a lil differently... { $title = $_POST["title"]; $content = $_POST["Post"]; $user = $_POST["user"]; $openname = fopen("updates.txt", "a"); $month = date("m"); $day = date("d"); $year = date("y"); $date = $month . '/' . $day . '/' . $year; fwrite($openname, $user . "|##|" . $date . "|##|" . $title . "|##|" . $content . "\r\n"); fclose($openname); ?> <html><head><title>Please stand by...</title><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; url=mycms.php?action=edit" /> </head> <body> <table width="100%" height="85%" align="center"> <tr> <td valign="middle"> <table align="center" cellpadding="4" class="tablefill"> <tr> <td width="100%" align="center"> Thank you... your update has been added <br> (<a href="mycsm.php?action=edit">Or click here if you do not wish to wait</a>) </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> <? } linenums:0'>if(strtolower($_GET['action']) == "add"){$title = $_POST["title"];$content = $_POST["Post"];$user = $_POST["user"];$openname = fopen("updates.txt", "a");$month = date("m");$day = date("d");$year = date("y");$date = $month . '/' . $day . '/' . $year;fwrite($openname, $user . "|##|" . $date . "|##|" . $title . "|##|" . $content . "\r\n");fclose($openname);?><html><head><title>Please stand by...</title><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; url=mycms.php?action=edit" /></head><body><table width="100%" height="85%" align="center"><tr> <td valign="middle"> <table align="center" cellpadding="4" class="tablefill"> <tr> <td width="100%" align="center"> Thank you... your update has been added <br> (<a href="mycsm.php?action=edit">Or click here if you do not wish to wait</a>) </td> </tr> </table> </td></tr></table> </body></html><?} ok... now were almost done... just a couple more things to add and then where done... this is the delete page... just add at the bottom... still fairly simple... { $fileh = file('updates.txt'); $file2 = fopen('updates.txt','w'); for($K = 0; $K < sizeof($fileh); $K++) { if ($K != $_GET['uid']) { fwrite($file2,$fileh[$K]); } } fclose($file2); ?> <html><head> <meta http-equiv='refresh' content='2; url=mycms.php?action=edit'/> <script type="text/javascript"> </script> </head> <body> <table width='100%' height='85%' align='center'> <tr> <td valign='middle'> <table align='center' cellpadding="4" class="outside" border='1'> <tr> <td width="100%" align="center"> Please wait as we delete the update<br /><br /> (<a href='mycms.php?action=edit'>Or click here if you do not wish to wait</a> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> <? } linenums:0'>if(strtolower($_GET['action']) == "delete"){$fileh = file('updates.txt');$file2 = fopen('updates.txt','w');for($K = 0; $K < sizeof($fileh); $K++){if ($K != $_GET['uid']){fwrite($file2,$fileh[$K]);}}fclose($file2);?><html><head><meta http-equiv='refresh' content='2; url=mycms.php?action=edit'/><script type="text/javascript"> </script></head><body><table width='100%' height='85%' align='center'><tr> <td valign='middle'> <table align='center' cellpadding="4" class="outside" border='1'> <tr> <td width="100%" align="center"> Please wait as we delete the update<br /><br /> (<a href='mycms.php?action=edit'>Or click here if you do not wish to wait</a> </td> </tr> </table> </td></tr></table> </body></html><?} ok now all we need to do is to display it... so go ahead and add this bit of code { $updates = file('updates.txt'); foreach($updates as $Key=> $Val) { $update[$Key] = explode("|##|", $Val); } $find1[] = "|#title#|"; $find1[] = "|#author#|"; $find1[] = "|#date#|"; $find1[] = "|#body#|"; for($k = sizeof($updates) - 1; $k>0;$k--) { $replace1[0] = $update[$k][2]; $replace1[1] = $update[$k][0]; $replace1[2] = $update[$k][1]; $replace1[3] = $update[$k][3]; $content1 = str_replace($find1, $replace1, $updates[0]); echo $content1 . "<br>"; } } ?> linenums:0'>if(!$_GET['action']){$updates = file('updates.txt');foreach($updates as $Key=> $Val){ $update[$Key] = explode("|##|", $Val);}$find1[] = "|#title#|";$find1[] = "|#author#|";$find1[] = "|#date#|";$find1[] = "|#body#|";for($k = sizeof($updates) - 1; $k>0;$k--){$replace1[0] = $update[$k][2];$replace1[1] = $update[$k][0];$replace1[2] = $update[$k][1];$replace1[3] = $update[$k][3];$content1 = str_replace($find1, $replace1, $updates[0]);echo $content1 . "<br>";}}?> then save that and now we want to make a text file called updates.txt and chmod it to 777. now we want to open the file and make the first line equal to the coding for the display placing tags that corrispond to to the data we want to enter... use |#title#| for the title, |#author#| for the autor, and |#date#| for the date and |#body#| for the body make sure it all is on the one line... its easy... just code it, and then take out all the new lines so that it all is squished on to the same one.. and it will work to put ur updates anywhere just use include('mycms.php'); and bam! your done... previews: View Updates Edit Updates Full Source
  21. aww looks like were gonna have some lil zutara babies... :-p ...i like your idea albus but i think that if that happens and zuko brings aang to the firelord... then zuko is going to fight with aang... but then ozai is going to be like "son, youve come back to take your rightfull place" yada yada and try to get zuko to switch sides... and then aang is going to say something like "dont listen to him" and it is going to bring back zuko's internal conflict...I'm not so much concerned about the season finale as i am about the next few episodes.... because azula is in ba sing se and thats not going to be pretty, because no one suspects anything because they are supposed to be kyoshi warriors... even so katara is the only one there that can do anything because aang and sokka went to see sokka's dad and the guru at the earth temple... Also, i wanna see what happens to toph cause she got captured and such so you never know...
  22. I used to have a car... it was a 92 Toyota Celica. It was white and i loved it... i found it in the paper and i bought it with some money i saved up when i was 14... well actually i gave my money to my mom and she bought it for me... i didnt have my license or my permit yet so i didnt get to drive it. I was supposed to take drivers ed when i was 14 and a half but it kept getting cancelled... August of last year we didnt have no moneys left so we had to sell it... it made me sad. now... here i am 16 with only only 6 months before i get my license and no car or means of buying one... BUT... i do have my eyes on the Nissan 350z... I want it in daytona blue... and it has to be an automatic because i cant drive a manual... Ill have to find some pics... If you dont know what it looks like your missing out... you need to find out .... it is AWSOME!
  23. Ok... this is my idea:imma create a Java Based set of programs like Microsoft works or Microsoft office. They will have multiple/customizable themes, POSSIBLY their own file formats (i hope i can do that im not sure) and a few other features... some of the programs include:---Word Processor---a BASIC Presentation creator---Spreadsheet---Graphics program---Mail Program---BrowserI havent decided weather or not i will make them all in the same program but no matter what it will be a java archive file (.JAR)I'm thinking of making it a virtual desktop with the option for users to sign in and save things into their own folders and only access their files with the option to save it into a "Public" folder which all users can view... and a guest feature which only allows access to the public folder... So tell me if you think this is a good idea or not >.<
  24. Ok in this thread you have to list some of ur fav things as a child and tell why you loved them OH SO MUCH!.... ok ill start- Xena: The Warrior Princess: I Secretly wanted to be her, that and she was sexy and she was a chick and i was a very sexist child....- Spice Girls: Again, a sexist child, obsessed with their music...- Sailor Moon: Were beginning to see a trend here arent we- Pok'e'mon: It was like the crack of elementary school- The Little Mermaid: I was obsessed with water and again shes a chick... got started watching it at a young age and thats whwat tought me how to work a VCR... i think thats what got me interested in singing.- Tomogachi's and other Digital Pet things: I dunno what it was... but i had keychains upon keychains upon keychains of them... i think i only had one actual Tomogachi and the rest were fake big lots' brand generics- Furby: I loved my firby... he was my best friend during my 3rd grade year when i had to wear an eye patch... it was funny cause he would say yumm when i would touch his tounge and hten he would burp >.<... then sing that demented little song.-The Original NES: another good friend of my younger years... i was addicted to games like lemmings and kirby and duckhunt-Sega Genisis: One of my ultimate favorite games of all time was on this system... and its called VALIS!!! i <3ed that game... i used to have dreams about it... the story line mostely... it made me cry :'( bet if this is all you knew me by you would swear i am gay >.< any ways... you think mine is stupid then lets see what you liked :-p
