Going to the original post, I have my personal feelings on the matter where I wouldn't agree with you on. I've been in both kinds of schools as well, and I personally prefer the private schools. Many people put their children into private schools because they're supposed to be better environments than public schools, not necessarily because they offer better eduation. In the case of my private school, and others like mine, they have Bible classes and the like and various religious activities. The school isn't there just for better eduacation in everyone elses eyes, but that our eduation is based off of Chrisitianity. And it's not just those who have parents with more money attending these schools. Me and my family, from all areas around, probably rank just on the poverty level. Sure, we have a decent house that we live in, and a car that hasn't lost all it's nuts and bolts yet, but in terms of our attending the school we go to, we're barely making ends meet with the normal bills, so us kids are thankful for the work program our school makes mandatory. There is a purpose for private schools, and even if we're talking about the non-religious affiliation schools, they're there for more than just one reason. You mentioned taxes, I don't see what the problem is for you. We all have to pay taxes, which means we're who don't go to public school are paying for your buses that make us late to school and many other things the government provides for you, all of which we don't use. Also, it's not that we're trying to be separated from the rest of the world. I have friends who aren't in private school who are doing just fine in public schools. If you're going on the better eduation, I don't see what's so wrong with parents wanting the best for their children.I think I'm going to stop my rambling and just say that it sounds like you are a student who wouldn't be able to afford some private schools and so you're complaining. If you really want to attend one, you'll find a way. Me and my family are. Maybe I don't know exactly what's got you upset, but I don't think you've really thought it all out. There are reasons behind having private schools, but they aren't to make those in public schools feel inferior. Personally, if anything, I would be pushing myself to break that idea that those who go to private school are better and do better in life than those in public. Break the mold if you think it's really the case. It's really just a state of mind in my opinion. There's many people who've gone through public schools that are doing fantastic in the rest of their lives. They didn't all go to Harvard and Princton or anything.

How Do I Build Up The Courage To Call?
Teri Luketic replied to Behecca's topic in Dating And Relationships
It depends on what you are talking about with this year thing. Why won't you be around wherever you were for another year? He's obviously interested, but you might not want to get going into a long-distance thing. You obviously don't know him very well with what you've said, but I'd say call him and just talk to him as friends and all. Get to know him. Then see what happens after that. -
Interracial Relationship Will you accept it?
Teri Luketic replied to darran's topic in Dating And Relationships
I know several couples that are interracial. I have a hispanic girl friend who's dating a caucasian guy, a black boy dating a hyspanic girl, a black guy dating a white girl, a white girl dating a hyspanic guy, an asian dating a hyspanic, an asian girl dating a caucasian guy, and a caucasian guy dating. . .actually they're married now. . .an American indian girl. Even before knowing all these people, I really don't have any problems with them. Now, I don't really have any interest or attraction for guys that are black, I don't know why. I just never really have. I could just be weird. And there have only been a few times where I've been attracted to Asians or Hyspcanics, but I usually stick to those like me. That's just my personal opinion. I don't really have problems with others in those situations at all, and personally I think it's kinda cool that they don't care what others think about the relationship. -
Girls - What Kind Of A Date Do You Want?
Teri Luketic replied to trace-uk's topic in Dating And Relationships
Yeah, like Clessi said, But if it's someone I've known for a while, and have been pretty good friends with first I'd think a little more than that. . .although coffee and desert are still a must in some sense or another Hmm. . .I'm liking the idea of a pretty nice romantic dinner out, or even one brought in somewhere (if he's a good cook, then one made by him sounds good). Maybe near a beach of some kind somewhere, or somewhere with a pretty view. A good movie, plenty of action for him and enough romance for me. . .not so much sad stuff though, there's enough in my life to watch a sad movie. Especially don't want something sad when I'm on a date. After that a nice walk where that view is or the beach with a great kiss in there obviously somewhere. . .not planned but spontaneous, while still being at an almost perfect time. If it's the first date, then not much more I'd say, but if it's one past that, then there could be more past that. I'm not one for going beyond making out or anything like that just because we're dating though. If it doesn't work out that you stay together for the rest of your lives, and break up without marriage being mentioned or even if it is and it's just before, you're not going to have something special for the person you do end up with for the rest of your life. But yeah, that sounds like a good one to me. -
Okay, I'm sorry, but that doesn't always work. I have friends of mine that really think they like a guy and look past all they have wrong with them. And that's not the way to go about it anyway. Telling her to quite obviously hasn't worked. So probably, you're pretty stuck with it, unless. . . . I might suggest getting to know her a little bit. Getting to know things she likes, not just you, but also things that she likes about you that has her so wrapped up. Try to find a guy that might be what she's looking for, or if you know of someone else who likes her, and see what you can do about helping in getting the two of them together. Don't get your girlfriend into it, because it'll become a cat-fight, and you're not going to want that. If that doesn't work, then you're just going to have to ride it out till she stops, herself.
-
IF you've got a dance or anything coming up, ask her to that. I don't know about how public school works. . .but I'd guess it's the same as my Christian school. We have things called banquets, and if you have a date to them, it's not like you're going out with them, you're just going to it with her.If that's farther away than you'd like, then just think about an outing with some of your friends and see if she'll go with you. I personally think that even though you guys are shy that you have it easier than the girls just because you've been the ones to ask since about forever. Then again, I'm just generalizing things most likely. I think if you make sure that she know's it's not a date as a gf/bf thing you should be in the safe area. That way if she declines it's not so bad and it won't make thing's uncomfortable when you hang out still.

Immature And Annoying Students Just a rant because it BUGS me
Teri Luketic replied to Sinari's topic in The Vent
It's highschool. There's always going to be annoying people, much to my and everyone elses dismay. There's all kinds of other problems that happen too, just depends on who you are. Annoying people are everywhere, they get on my nerves to the max, but just remember you're not the only one having to deal with them. Don't forget, they're often petty, too. . .don't let them bug you too bad. . .at least try! -
You know, you can get sick of just about any kind of music if you listen to it for too long. I like all kinds of music, though I don't care for rap or screamo. I end up going through little bits of listening to country, or soft rock, or rock, or even oldies. . .which isn't all that often, straight without much of anything else and then I can't listen to it for a while. So when I listen to my mix station, that's mostly just up to date music and one of these types comes on that I'm currently not in the mood for. . .it kinda get's annoying.

I'm was born in northern Ohio, as was my mother and pretty much all of the family on her side. My dad on the other hand is a Tennessee man, as was all of his family. LoL. I've got American Indian, German, Spanish, and French in me
-
Actually, not all rock is screaming into a mic. You didn't really specify what type of rock. So while I'm assuming you're not talking about old rock, there's a pretty big difference between hard rock and just rock. I like rock, and I like some hard rock, though not a lot of it. I can't handle a lot of rap because it's hard for ME to understand. I know a lot of people like it and that's their opinion. But for me, it's hard to understand, and then when I actually try to listen to it I see that it's a lot more sexual stuff and drugs and the like than I like to think about. I know rock has some of that, then again every type but Christian music has that. But I find more of it in the rap than the rock area. That's just me.

PDA to me really doesn't need to be all that much for those of us at highschool age. I don't mind people holding hands or hugging or having their arms around eachother when they're talking to people, and I don't know that I mind them kissing some. What I don't know that I like is when they go crazy with it, or make out in front of you. We don't need to see that. Anything past that they shouldn't be doing at our age anyway. It's unnecessary to me to be that open with other people around.

Myspace.com who has it, likes, dislikes, etc.
Teri Luketic replied to mzwebfreak's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I've found that it can be addicting, but I don't know that it's evil. It just depends on what you do on it. I have one, I don't check it every day or anything, but I do have one. I think I've spent a total often hours in the almost six months that I've had it doing things other than just commenting on my friends and the like. I do other things on the net, and my myspace is just kind of a thing to keep tabs on my friends. That's about it, that and various music stuff. -
Jealousy Makes You Nasty... ...does it?
Teri Luketic replied to Vogue's topic in Dating And Relationships
Jealousy doesn't always make you nasty. I agree with the last person, it's just how far you let it take you. You can be jealous, and the person might not even know. Or you can be jealous and be extreme and they will probably hate you because of it.One thing I've learned about jealousy is that it's a self-centered thing. No matter how small it is, you're only jealous because of what you think you don't have. In terms of relationships - say you like this girl and she's going out with some guy - you're jealous of what the guy has, forget if they're happy together or not. Now if you're good friends with this girl, you don't necessarily want her to hate you or anything because you're acting on your jealousy, that's letting her know that you can't controle your jealousy for one.It doesn't necessarily make you nasty, it's what choices you make because of it that make you that way. -
I don't think that people who need religion are weak. It takes a certain amount of STRENGTH to believe in a god of any kind. You've got people attacking you from all angles. It would seem to me that it would be easier to go through life without thinking about it really at all, ignoring everything people say and believe that it's all just there and that no god exists, especially not the God of heaven.

Girls And Bathrooms. You always wanted to know...
Teri Luketic replied to hedzup's topic in Science and Technology
Wow. . .that's kind of an interesting way to think of it. I'm a girl, and I don't always understand why they would tell eachother to go with them! I rarely do that. The only thing I do that for is to check myself, or if I need to talk to them about something and then we don't always go there, it's often just some other part of wherever we are. Races? Only the weird ones! (No offense to anyone!) -
Ufo Propulsion. What do you think?
Teri Luketic replied to AeonLan's topic in Science and Technology
You know, I don't know that they would necessarily have to be anything we'd use here. If they're from another planet, wouldn't there be the fact that there would be different matterials for them to use on their planet. They might not have to worry about so much as we would because their planet would probably have something other than our slightly primitive sources. -
I had Xanga for a while, and I have Myspace as well as something called Livejournal. I don't use Xanga anymore, mostly because my school can't access it because of certain things that it goes against, but I only had it because my friends did and I could use it to put things down for them to read that I couldn't say in reality. Plus, I'm in a boarding school, so when their gone and something happens, I can put it there if I can't call them. I use Livejournal only for my sister and the aunt she lives with. It's my personal rant place and telling of things I don't want my friends to see necessarily unless I tell them face to face. It's also my way of staying connected with my sister since our times for phone useage don't always mesh. Myspace I use only as a way to keep in touch with various friends, and to put up some cool stuff. I'd never heard of Xanga untill last year, and I didn't use it long.

Coping With My Anger Caused By A Friend's Boyfriend
Teri Luketic replied to shadowx's topic in General Discussion
I don't think I agree with the person who said you need to stay out of her life. You may need to back off some, and try to move on if she's not going to get away from it, but not necessarily back out completely. She may be crushed if you stop talking to her completely, and I know that you don't want that. If she's meant to be with someone else, she'll realize that eventually. It might not happen in the time frame you want it to happen. . .like forever ago. . .but it'll happen sometime. You need to try and move on though, you don't need to be angery all the time, and if she's not going to let him go, then you don't want to be hanging on like a child does her mother's leg forever. -
I like what you've said here. It's rare to find someone who really thinks that way. I've found myself having questions on why things are so often due to the death of my mother at her young age as well as my own, as well as in feeling unwanted by my father and most of my friends. Maybe not always unwanted, but as though so many more things come before me. Things that are important to me are often looked over and suddenly, I'm alone in those things or I'm just plain alone physically. So it's often hard to always agree with what you've said here at the beginning. I do think though, that you are entirely right, and I thank you for putting this up.

I don't know what exactly the qustion in the poll is meaning. Sure, it probably helps with opening peoples minds, but I don't know that it's a good thing in some cases.I have no problem with the people who aren't straight, I'm not one myself, but I work with two pretty openly lesbian workers at a nursing home. I write on a simm where I KNOW that the Admin/CO is bi, thanks to his myspace, and I'm sure there are people on other simms I'm on that are the same way. I don't think that it's right, but then I don't not like the person, I just don't care for what they do. I think love is made for a man and a woman, not the same. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to not talk or work with these people just because I don't care for their decisions. You want to marry someone who's the same gender as you. . .I'm not going to try and stop you. I may tell you my opinion, and what the Bible says, but that's about it.
-
Okay, I have to say that God made it for a pleasure between a man and his wife. I don't think it's there for us to do with whoever whenever we feel like it. It's immoral to me, as it is many people. It's a special thing that I don't want to spoil by the time I'm married.

To the original question. . . .I don't believe that God causes bad things to happen. I believe He's there for us through it all. The poem Footprints is a good concept that I see as being the case. What I do think, is that it's Satan's hand moving us, and our allowing it, to do such things. Also, I believe that things happening that coincide with what the Bible says are only what is says because God knows the beginning and the end and all the possibilities in between. God steps in when He knows the best outcome would take place, but he doesn't cause bad things to happen. To the original question. . . .I don't believe that God causes bad things to happen. I wasn't really afraid of all that much. In fact, I think I'm afraid. . .or at least cautious. . .about more things now than I was back then. I was afraid of disasters happening, which I mostly only thought about when there was a storm or something. I was a pretty thoughtful child now that I think about it. At four I was worried about my pictures and my John (teddy bear a guy in a band gave me when I was young) if there was a tornado that could come through. I guess I was afraid of the thought of things more than the actual storm that was making me think of it, which is probably the case with all of them. I only had a nightlight from the age of two to four and a half, and that was beaause when I learned to walk I'd managed to beat my head on just about everything on the way to the potty!

Papa Johns Vs Pizza Hut - who likes what
Teri Luketic replied to nickmealey's topic in General Discussion
I LOVE Papa Johns! I love pizza in general really. If I could have it all the time I would be a happy fat kid! LoL. Pizza Hut's pretty good to, but I love Papa Johns. -
I use them an aweful lot, mostly because they show that I'm not serious though. On the net, and really in any writing, it's often hard to see if someone means what they're saying or not. They're best for that, and other things in my case. That and mood.
