  1. Oh, do I know how you feel. That sounds pretty much like my high schools graduating class. Anyway, yeah I have and things such as that happen. We had someone light someone hair on fire as a joke gone wrong, well we had an important guest over that day. Lets see, new teachers where abused like no other, I had many debates on the maturity level of half the students, not to mention wondering how some of them even graduated. Top it all off, my graduating class as the our senior prank started a food fight on our last day of classes. That made me really mad, because I was helping to clean it up, even though I ran out of the cafeteria as soon as it started to avoid the flying Mexican food. Half the people who where actually involved in the food fight where standing on the sidelines mocking us. They where saying things "That's right you deserved this." or "You ruined my best shirt". There where quite a few expletives being thrown around as well, but half the teachers didn't here them. Whats rather said is quite a few where directed towards me. All I was thinking was, "I don't even have a scrap of food on me, how could I have been involved in the darn food fight without getting anything on me? Now how about you stop complaining and help us clean." However, I was actually rather proud of a few teachers who actually noticed this was happening and started taking rags from people who where clean and where helping clean and handing rags to people who where completely covered in food and said "CLEAN NOW!". The one thing after this incident started a friend of mine what charged with being one of the 10 who starting it even though she was just sitting next to the people who started it and had to doge refried beans and nacho cheeses for a good 10 minutes before it stopped. It does improve in college a bit, but most of that stuff happens off campus. The worst I've seen on campus is putting soap in the fountain, which to me is alot better then having a food fight or setting someones hair on fire.Anyway, I do understand your anger towards those people, however, some of those types of stupid moments can leads to some pretty fond/non-fond memories. For instance I will never forget my last day of eating lunch in High School or having to go down and fill out a statement saying what I witnessed when that guys hair was caught on fire. I guess its just part of high school for things like that to happen. Plus, it always makes you look a whole lot smarter.
  2. Well I would buy a really nice computer...and I mean really nice. I would most likely donate a good 21 million to charities. Then I would put it the rest in savings and if I do decided to go to a different university other then the one I'm at, I have money to pay for it. When I get out of college and get a job, I would use some of the money to buy a nice house (nothing over a 1 million ) . Then keep the rest of the money for retirement. If there is any money left over after I die from this, it will all go to charities (Sorry future family, your not getting a free meal ticket off of me).
  3. Islam to me is just another one of the many religions in the world. Just like every religious group there are extremest who twist and bend the their scripture till its a completely different book. I do agree judging a religious group on who is practicing it is not the best way to go. Since no matter who's preaching it there will always be some difference or bias. However, it is somewhat easier to have someone talking to you about then to have to be sitting there reading about it. So, as a personal opinion I think its better to learn as much as you can from a non-bias source. Whether that be from a person, book, or scripture. I'm currently taking a Art course that helping me learn alot about the religious beliefs (from an educational stand point, not really from a religious stand point) in India and South East Asia and whats better is my professor is very non-bias.
  4. I do rather agree with you on your first post. I do get kind of offended when people say "I will pray for you", but not when they say "God Bless you" because to me "God Bless You" is like saying "I wish good fortune on you". "I will pray for you"on the other hand is like saying "I hope you convert over to my religion" or "I wish good fortune on you" depending on the context. At least that's the impression I get from most Christians when they use this phrase. To me at least, I only see Christans saying that if something really bad has happened to you or when you say your from a different religious belief then they are. When it is used in the first case, its more like saying "I hope things get better.", in the second case that's when I get the impression that they want me to convert over.
  5. This topic was actually brought up at my school. Mostly for the reason some students were being rather extreme with showing their affection for each other in school. To me its alright do have a quick hug or kiss and holding hands is alright, but anything more then that shouldn't be allowed in school. Just because of the fact that most students don't want to see that kind of stuff in the hallways. Plus the fact most of the time I hear rather bad comments about people who do any more then that in the hall, mostly consering the girl in the relationship. However, off of school grounds you can do what ever you want, as long as it follows public decentancy laws.

    Call Centres

Maybe its a conspiracy. Maybe they get so much money from the phone companies for every minute they make you wait on the line. Anyway I've been there before. I personally think its worse, when they play music and every so often interrupt it to say that. Since sometimes the music they play is from a radio station or something and they actually have some what decent music playing. Then suddenly during a decent song they go "Your call is...". I do also agree with you that what they are saying is very hypocitical of them.
  7. Ok...this time I have waited two days before saying "My problem is fixed". Well I have successfully left my computer on for two days strait and my browsers, IM, and my online game can all access the internet without having to restart the computer and/or leave the programs running all night. So I now say this with great happiness...My problem is fixed. So ZoneAlarm was my problem. I guess the highest security must have a time out setting in it which I can't change for some reason. So I just set it to medium for my Wireless Card and it works find now.
  8. I actually may have found a lead. Out of shear desperation to find the problem to my issue, I decided to start shutting down programs one at a time that I was running to see if one of them could of been the culprate. Well the first program I decided to shut down was Zone Alarm. Well as soon as I shut it down and I went to test my Internet...it worked. So I decided to further inspect Zone Alarm Settings. Under Firewall/Zones, I noticed that my wireless card was set to Internet, not trusted. I had my Internet zone set to the highest security level well my trusted zone was set to medium. I went back inforth between the two zones and only when I had the highest security level set my Internet wouldn't work. I don't know too much about how Zone Alarm works, but could that have caused my problem all along? O.o
  9. Well it happened again. So I'm guessing that option was not the right one. *bashes head on wall* So does anyone have any suggestions on what to do about this issue? I did check my virus scanner and there is no setting that would of caused that sort of an issue. I have run quite a few virus scans and spyware scans each from a different program and they have come up with nothing. So I'm pretty sure its not a virus. Just so I don't get asked repeat questions from the last time I tried to get an answer from Tech support. I do have a firewall, but it isn't blocking any of the programs that I have mention that do not to work. Plus I do have Windows Firewall disabled. My web browsers are all up to date and have the latest versions, same with my Virus and Spyware software. I have an Athero wireless card and yes I am running on a wireless router and I did check the router and my card settings to see if there was anything that could of caused my problem and came up with nothing.KuBi, its not WoW I'm running. I'm actually running a game called Conquer Online, which is less graphic intense and puts virtually no stress on my computers processor, and I normally don't leave my IM running all night. Plus on top of all that, I keep a cooling tray under my computer if I leave it on overnight and make sure the computer has all its vents cleared and open to disperse heat effectively.
  10. Well as a added note, my Anti-Virus shut itself down was because it had an update that requires my computer to restart. Which I'm not going to do until the server for my game goes down for its daily maintenance (It costs me 1000 silver to get into the training grounds so I'm going to get my penny worth of training) . I also read the online manual for my anti-virus scanner and from what I read there is no setting that would cause it to block my Internet connection, but when I get home today I will double check.
  11. Yeah, I already did a virus scan and a spyware scan and came up with nothing. Anyway the game I play has a training area where you can train, without fear of getting killed. Plus the only reason I left my IM on that one time was on accident. I do have a firewall, good old ZoneAlarm, but it isn't blocking anything that I was using. I don't think a virus scanner would have an issue with blocking the internet, but I use Avira. I will check it out to see if it has any setting that could of caused that problem, since for all I could know that could of been my issue. Anyway I have good news, I went to us my internet this morning, after leaving my game run all night, and it worked. So it seems to have fixed my problem. However, I did notice that my virus scanner for some reason shut it self off during the night, so I'm going to do another test to see if that might of been my issue and not the wireless card setting.
  12. Well I have a computer issue that I ran into this week and I spent an good few days trying to figure it out with some success...I think. Ok this all stared when I would leave my computer to run over night the internet connection was good, the internet browsers, IM, and my online game that I would leave running would all be working and connected to the internet. When I wake up in the morning however, I would find my Game still running and my IM running they would still be connected, however when I tried to use my internet browser it wouldn't connect to the internet. Well I tried Opera, FireFox and Internet Explore and none of them connected to the internet. So I restarted my wiressless card, nothing, then I restarted my computer and my browsers could connect. Ok, so I thought it was a one time thing and left my computer running all night again this time I didn't leave my IM running but I let my Game running. This time I couldn't get my browsers or IM to connect to the internet, however...my Game was still connected. I had to once again restart my compute to get my IM and Browsers to connect. So over the past few days I've tried a series of combinations and have come up with this result. IM will only work in the morning if I leave it run all night. Internet Browsers wouldn't not work in the morning even if I left them run all night. My online game woudn't connect in the morning if i didn't leave it run all night. Heres the killer...I never lost my connection and it was always "Exellent". The only way for me to get my browsers, IM and Game to connect when they wouldn't was to restart the computer. Ok, so I googled the issue yesterday and I found no one who could give me an anwser, but I think I may have found an anwser. I have an Athero wireless card (Please excuse my spelling), one of the setting is for the card is Power Save Mode. Power Save Mode restricts the cards power when it is not in use. So inturn it pretty much will put the card on sleep mode when it isn't doing anything, which I think restricts the cards function to the most active programs, which would explain why it didn't effect my Game and IM as much because they have at least some activity constantly. The default setting was to the Normal Settting. So I changed it to Off. However, I was unable to test anything this morning because my computer crashed during the night. Ok...I'm wondering if my thought process is correct on this issue, since I don't know if that could of caused my problem or not. If I am wrong on what actually is wrong with my computer then please let me know what I need to do to fix the problem. I will post an update if what I did fixes the problem.
  13. I haven't seen that happen much on Xisto however I have seen it alot on other sites (Eg. Neopets) where people take one look at the title and assume what the issue is and it turns out to be wrong. I do accuse myself of doing that a few times on other forum sites, but I've never really done it on Trap since at least here peoples posts are worth the few mintues to read.
  14. See, I would like to have Evil Laughter emoticon like they have on yahoo messager, but that is the only one that I would really want.
  15. I tend to agree with you that religion is one of the worst things to have a war over, or using it as an excuse to do terrorism, or kill people. To me all religion is, is just words. To me starting a war, doing terrorist acts, and killing people over religious grounds is like doing those things just because someone called you a "meanie". I also agree with you every religion has its insane evil people. It rather scares me when I see banners saying "Become Part of God's Army" or "Become Part of Allah's Army". To me religion shouldn't be described as an Army. Last time I checked religion is not a military organization. I just wish I could say to all those people who claim that violence and hatred is the only way, "Why can't we all just get along?"
  16. I understand your feeling. In a way I find talking in general annoying sometimes. I like peace and quite most of the time, maybe with some white noise from the TV. In a college environment I hear dumb immature phrases all the time. It makes me wonder if they ever did pass high school English some times. However, I am forced to watch the deterioration of the English language everyday, even on chat boards. I'm waiting for the day 2 replaces the word "to" and "too" for good. To me that would be a very said day.
  17. I have skinny wrists and most of the time people complement me on them because I can wear smaller size bracelets. Plus, It helps to have skinny hands and wrists when it comes to playing an instrument and fixing things and even things as simple as typing. I don't know if there's a direct correlation to the size of your fingers, hand, and wrist, to your coordination with your hands, but most of the people I know who have larger hands, fingers and wrists tend to have more problems typing. Personally opinion, I've never thought of the idea of having skinny wrists as a negative to over all body appearance, at least on women. I've never even thought of the issue until now actually. Overall, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I have skinny wrists and hands genetically and from my daily activites. I wouldn't want my wrist to be come larger, I like them just how they are.
  18. Ok, I have been recently addicted to Conquer Online, a classic online roleplaying game. They have, well at least I think, a unique system to deal with Player Killers, or Players that Kill other players (Also know as PKers). The way they deal with it is you can kill other players, but you can get sent to jail by another player. In order to get sent to jail you have to kill the PKer and the PKer has to have killed over 10 players (which equals 100 PK points). The problem is with this is that normal the hardcore PKErs are at a high enough level that barely anyone can kill them or in a guild which will hunt you down and kill you for getting that player sent to jail. Plus on top of all this, they lose a PK point every 6 mintues your online, so if you kill 99 players just wait about 9 hours and you will be down to zero. To me this is just stupid. According to the site rules you can put yourself in Peace mode to protect yourself from PKers, well this is not true at all. Peace mode only prevents you from attacking the PKer, but not the PKer from attacking you. So in truth theres only four ways to protect yourself from a PKer. 1. Run alway from the PKer and hope you get to a guard before they kill you and they hope they accidently attack the guard. 2. Travel in a group of people who are level 60+ or 3. Join a Guild who will protect you from PKers or 4. Become one yourself. The problem is there are few 60+ characters on the site that arn't PKers and if they arn't they don't normally help you and very few Guilds offer protection from PKers and if they do they don't back it up, so the only true way to protect yourself from a PKer is to run for your life. Since starting the game I wasn't PKed alot until I hit level 30 then I got started getting PKed (or at least an attempt at it) everytime I seem to go out and train and use the mines. Plus, in the lower level Mines, PKers go in and kill all the lower level people who arn't even at level 20 yet. To me this is rather unfair to both newer and older players, because when you get PKed, the PKer gets some of your experiance, items and gold. My suggestion at least is to make a player setting that prevents other players from attacking you and you from attacking other players. I know there are alot of people who loud mouth other people and they may deserve to get PKed, but this will at least prevent abuse of the system. That way you can go and mine and train without getting killed by another player. Next thing is to make an automatic system that if you PK another player who is X number of levels below you that you get put in jail. Most PKers will go around and kill players who are 50 levels below them just for the sake of it and to get items and gold. Since Conquer doesn't show what level you are at to the public that means they would either have to ask or take the risk. I'm not against the idea of fighting with other players, I just think that the system that Conquer uses is ineffective and creates more problems then good. If anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to add them and don't forget to cast your vote. For more information on the PK system visit here: http://us.99.com/ *Edit* Ignore the one Yes vote, I accidently didn't relize I selected the wrong one. So it should be one No vote and no Yes votes. '
  19. That I agree with you on. If you use a instant messager you should be able to type English or at least your native language. One of my English teachers said. "Instant Messagers where a good thing, helping people improve there typing skills, grammer, spelling, etc...until they invent ChatSpeak."
  20. Well first off, I think senior citizens do deserve a discount for one reason. Most senior citizens don't work and/or retired and if they do get a steady income still, then it normally isn't that much (unless they didn't retire). So the discount allows them to use there money for other things other then basic needs and be able to enjoy the last few years of there lives. Com'on I woudln't think you would work hard for 65 years of your life and then have to keep working because you can't afford to retire.
  21. Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks he should be sent threw the ringer. See I don't think the police would get involved, but I do know he will be held responsible for the damages. Even if he says "Oh, it just went out. Must of been a faulty part.". If it was a faulty part, then why didn't he call about it. I haven't heard anything else from my friend about the issue, but I may hear more about it when they come back on the 9th to visit. They can't cut his allowance because hes too old for that, but I do think at the least they should at least kick him out of the house and make him pay for the damages. A personal opinion, I would also not pay for his rent, since well if he can't take care of a house when I'm the one paying for it, maybe he would be more likely to take care of a house if hes the one paying for it. Last time I heard he didn't have a job either, but that was a few months ago.
  22. Ok, this is kind of a recent issue I am having. A friend of mine just moved to Alabama and left there house in the care of her older brother until it got sold. This was because her family was hoping to save money on paying for his rent. However, both my friend and I told her parents that it may not be such a good idea because we know what it was like when he left the house in his care the last time. The only reason the house wasn't mess when they got back was because my friend had to clean it up.So they went off to Alabama and haven't even been living down there for a month and they get a call from a person who they hired to keep an eye on her brother and to do some basic cleaning (That is sinks, toilets, showers, counters and some vacuming when needed), the rest of the cleaning was up to her brother. She calls saying that the house was a mess, with beer cans, plastic cups, and clothes everywhere that haven't been picked up for weeks. When she got there to clean there where four strange men there, the lanudry door was broken with a huge dent in it and looked like it had been broken into (keep in mind this was a metal door and the door leading to the garage). The pool pump is broken and the water is green. To top this all off, they lost a potental buyer because of all this and she said that if there are any more strange men there the next time she goes down to clean she quitting. I don't know if he did any more damage to the house, but for some reason I'm getting the feeling thats not the end of the story. Ok, first off, isn't it common sence that if your going to sell a house to take care of it? My friends parents specifically told him to keep the house clean and not to destory everything. For pete sakes, you think that for a person who is over 22 years old would know better then that. Second, obviously if your going to hold a party, CLEAN IT UP!!! Sheesh, just because your in college, doesn't mean you forget everything your mother had taught you. Especailly if its not your house to begin with and your trying to sell it. Third, how in the world do you go and break a metal door? There must of been so force put on that door to put a dent in it. Another thing, how do you go and break a pool pump? It was in perfect working order when they left and if it did break because of faulty parts why didn't he call to let his parents know tht happend. Come to think about it, why did he call his parnets about any of this? Ok, this has rather ticked me off and if anyone has any suggestions for my friend what they should do about this problem or comments about this problem, please feel free to post them. Also please excuse any spelling or grammer errors.
  23. Umm...if I do recall correctly, my first post was on this topic. However its pretty much dead now, but the link is here if anyone wants to take a look at it. http://forums.xisto.com/topic/37700-modern-day-movies-what-happen-to-the-good-old-days/ However I do agree with you there comes a time and place where CGI is too over board and you should use older film tricks. Too much CGI can ruin a movie instead of helping it. Some of older film tricks I've seen are even better then the CGI is.
  24. Pet Peeves...well heres my list to add to the bunch... Flip Flop Sandels. Not Sharp Pencils. Not having an eraser. Typing Cellphone and Rapper Speak on a computer. Chat Speak. People who claim they can argue their point and can't. People who have argue a point and have no criediblity. People who don't capitalize there charactor names or names in general. New Shoes, especail white ones.
  25. Well I understand what your saying and why you would find this annoying, but I have had some situations where I didn't have time to do a courtesy wave because they where holding up traffic and plus I can't turn the wheel and wave at the same time.
