Removing Warts Methods is freezing the best way?
Madkat-Z replied to husker's topic in Health & Fitness
Well there is an old wives tale that I've heard that says: "If you rub a nickel on the wart and throw it over your shoulder and never look back. It will get rid of it." A friend of mine claims it works, but I have not witnessed it or tried it.I have also heard the duck tape one as well. I think your suppose to leave it on for a week or something and it should work. This I have also never tried or witnessed. -
All I'm going to say on this issue is the best firewall is NOT the Windows Firewall. I swear that was one of the worst things that Windows has created.

See that's what I heard about Kazaa, something happened with them because I used to hear that they where the greatest thing since sliced bread, but now I'm hearing all this bad stuff. LimeWire I know you don't have to sign up for with an address, phone number or any personal information, so there is no way for the RIAA, to be able to find you even if they wanted to fine you.

Depending on what I'm doing and what computer I'm using, I use either FireFox or IE. I'm not sure on the version numbers because I jump around from computer to computer so much.

"i Love You" Three words we say too often?
Madkat-Z replied to brainless's topic in Science and Technology
Ah alas our modern society destroying language once again. Awhile back the word "peep" meant those marshmallow chicks you buy around Easter, now it means the same thing as "friend" and "homie" as well. The phrase "I love you" has changed as well. It use to mean what you stated, "A kind feeling towards a person", now it meaning has become less and less serious (I believe its caused by the increases in break ups among couples) causing it to be used in that sort of manner. Love is a feeling, not an action. -
Most people who use programs like that tend to fake their information, especially when its a free program. I've never used Kazaa, but I have seen other programs that are similar that are free. So even if the RIAA did go after the Kazaa Paid users (assuming they have to pay for it), there are still alot of programs that are free that do the same thing. So I don't know how much of an impact they would have on that issue by finding users and given them a fine. Users just will not pay for it and use the free programs.

I agree...I do like their music, but when I hear it everyday for three months straight, it gets rather annoying. They are so over played its sad. I even had to listen to them all during my Junior and Senior year of high school, because my class was obsessed with using their music in the videos my class did.

Does Anyone Have Neopet Cheats Or Hacks, Ect
Madkat-Z replied to megan3708's topic in General Discussion
Well there are no get rich quick schemes for Neopets, but there are guides and even cheats for the games you can play on Neopets to help you get NP. I suggest the sites, http://pinkpt.com/ and http://www.thedailyneopets.com/ for help. -
See I would go with love in a heart beat, I'd rather be poorest person in the world then alone. However I do see the other point of the issue. In the real world, if you don't have any money at all, relationships tend to fail. This is because the stress of the money situations causes so much friction between two people, it can rip them apart, no matter how much in love they are.

What's The Hottest Place You Have Been To?
Madkat-Z replied to assassin9110's topic in General Discussion
The Hottest place I've ever been to is rather pathic...Flordia. I don't travel very much at all. Flordia is the farthest I've ever been from where I live, I haven't even left the United States, even once. I wish I could go somewhere like Egypt. -
I found Xisto threw a Free Web Host Review site, which I found by threw the use of the all mighty Google.. The site is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/.

Trap17.com 2 Year Anniversary Party Begins
Madkat-Z replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
Well I didn't realize that Traps17's Anniversary was so soon. I guess that will make it easy for me to tell how long my site has been up since switching hosts. Well congrats Trap 17 for hitting the 2 year mark and I hope for many more years to come. One more thing....since its Xisto's two year anniversary...Pixy Stixs for Everyone! *starts passing out Pixy Stixs* -
Yeah thats how I managed to survive watching all 9 seasons of X-Files. Not that its a bad series, its just when your obessed with a series it helps to save as much time as you can when you go to watch it.

I totally agree. That's how most of my CS classes have been taught with one small exception. We are actually given programs which are of some interests for homework, not just the "Hello World" problems in the book. We have done anything from games to doing programs that simulate objects (Such as Radios). I would be bored out of my mind if I had to do programs like that all the time.I do agree most programmers don't learn by reading a book. I haven't even cracked my programming books, unless it was for reference. The way I learned was threw doing the programs and seeing example code. Aka: If you put this in the computer will do this.Anyway, I go to a University with computer terminals in front of us so if the prof does some programing we can join him. My last prof, however, wouldn't even us touch the computers well he was lecturing, but he didn't do any coding, he just showed us examples of code. However, I do see the point on why they send you home with the program instead of just going over it in class step by step. CS classes are ment to teach you how to program and part of the process is solving problems on your own. Trust me I've spend over 10 hours trying to figure out why I was getting one error message.Being a CS major myself, I can see why most people are dropping out and I don't think its because of the program courses are taught. Its just the programming concepts you have to learn. It also doesn't help that you have to take a boat load of math on top of it as well.

Well it depends on the time of year for me. If I'm in classes I mostly am doing research for papers and trying to find help with coding issues. However if I'm out of classes I then to mostly be looking of guides to games and the rest is all random stuff. Just yesterday I was looking up different species of spiders, trying to identify a spider that I saw a friends house.

One For Laughs and one to think about
Madkat-Z replied to AlternativeNick's topic in Science and Technology
Ok...I missed this one, sorry about that AlternativeNick. Anyway to me I haven't had a problem with my cup holders in my car, but with how funky cup designs are getting now the inner tube idea might come in handy. The only problem is, if the inner tube inflates enough to get secure the cup in place, it may inflate too much making it impossible to move it up to activate the sensor. I hope I'm understanding your problem your trying to solve. -
I think Triangle was a series. Anyway, that's why I don't watch Series any more, at least on TV, because I miss a episode and I'm wondering what happened to half the people in the cast.

I'm pretty sure someone else on this thread has said this. I see no difference between the two because they both clog your arteries equally. I go with Subway or Skyline Chili.

I've only seen a few episodes of Kingdom Hospital, but not enough to say that I've really "seen it", but I would like to see the series. I tend to keep away from Series, because I'm not the type of person who likes to wait 24 hours to see the next episode.

One For Laughs and one to think about
Madkat-Z replied to AlternativeNick's topic in Science and Technology
I never thought of that...but it might just work. Since those are laws of nature, they cannot be broken *does alot of math calculations* Yes! You done it! By Trap, you've solved the energy crises! Ok, seriously now. The laws of physics out way the laws of of old wives tales, but it was a rather amusing thought. -
New Type Of Hard Drive That Could Solve Data Problems
Madkat-Z replied to CrazyRob's topic in Hardware Workshop
Well when I first read your post I though "I want one!", but now that I'm thinking about it, they will most likely charge you an arm and a leg just to get something as simple as a pen stick. My main question is what the world would you do with all that space in the first place? Its not like the normal person has 32,600,000 DVD's or has enough music to play for 100 millennia. I can understand for servers and stuff, but even still...thats alot of space. -
Ugh...I should be asleep right now. My sleeping habits are so screwed up its sad. Some days I stay up until 4:00 in the morning and get up at 10:00 in the morning. Others I sleep in until 3:00 in the afternoon and go to bed at 12:00.

Well I didn't think Mortuary was that corny, but the plot line near the end got rather dumb. Well I'm rather glad so many people actually agree with on alot of points I brought up. I really miss the days of old black and white film, because you can do so much with black and white that you can't do with color. I still think modern day directors should take advantage of black and white film and not just for flash backs either (Eg: House of Wax). If you just watch the movie Psycho, Hitchcock did so much with the film in black and white that you could never do in color. One thing I didn't mention in my original post was the fact of how inaccurate movies based off of books actually are. The new version of the musical The Phantom of the Opera is utterly nothing like the book. The original silent movie was more accurate to the book then modern version.

Ok, this is my first offical thread I'm posting, so hopefully I'm doing this right. Anyway, this is a rant I've had for a few years now. Being a fan of horror movies, I tend to notice things like set design, storyline, and just over all film value. I've been watching more modern films and I've been wondering, "What in the world has happen to modern day movies?" They don't even really build sets any more, just grab a CGI guy put your actors in front of a green/blue screen and your good to go. I can understand for some sets, but not all of them. The other thing is I don't see the quailty put into the film as in older films. I swear, sometimes they just throw things in front of the camera and don't even think about placement. They even forget to remove things such as cell phones off the set when they are doing a movie takes place in 1900's. Another thing that bugs me is is can't they even come up with a storyline that doesn't involve some sort of a sexual based scene? It drives me insane when they have to show that type of thing going on, especially when it doesn't even have any use in the plot. I know sex sells, but a longer movie is more likely flop now adays. I'm just wondering what others might think on this issue or if I'm the only one who seems to care about this topic. Does anyone else miss the good old days of film making?
